Sevyn rolled her eyes and scoffed as she listened to what her fellow prisoners had to say to the teacher. They all tried so hard, it was ridiculous. Sure, this wasn't a place that any of them wanted to be in, but that didn't mean that they had to be disrespectful to someone who was simply trying to do her job. Like Sevyn's mama always said, "Everyone has to be respectful and be a human being. No one's above." In the brief two months that she'd been in the academy, Ms. V hadn't disrespected her or anyone else, for that matter, so she was alright in Sevyn's book. She decided against opening her mouth, however, having a strong desire to continue her napping. Her ears perked up once more, however, when she overhead Remy and Gray speaking. In a swift moment, Sevyn was up from her seat and taking an open one closer to the two young girls, crossing one leg over the other once she sat.

"I was eavesdropping," she said in a hushed tone as she leaned in closer to the girls, "Sorry, not sorry. I overheard you mention something about a lil' get together in your room?" As Sevyn spoke, she took a quick glance around the room. She wasn't the most sociable person in the world, but she sure as hell knew how to discreetly spread some information around. Her past couple of months at Redwood had been nothing but pure Hell, so the mention of having a little bit of "fun" piqued her interest.

"I have a little something I could bring," she said with a devious smile, "It's not much, obviously, but it's just enough to catch a buzz." She was obviously referring to the two joints she had hidden in a pen in her underwear drawer, and was assuming that the two had understood. "That's only if you're interested."

Sheila, seeing as the class had been dismissed and she had waved at a bunch of students who were definitely not paying attention to anyone, blushed. She shook her head to get the feeling of embarrassment out before walking to the next class, dodging people left and right as she did. The books that had been handed to her in registration cut into her arms as she hefted them higher. As the bell rung she slid into her seat at the next class, right next to a red headed boy @FalkiThomas who she had noticed giving her a stare earlier. Probably because she was that weird on the scale here at Redwood. She definitely didn't want to be here, that's for sure. But, might as well make friends while she was at it.

She turned to the boy next to her and raised a cursory eyebrow at him.
"How'd you end up here? Her tone seemed bored but really she was interested. There were so many young delinquents here who'd probably ended up for worse reasons than herself.

Via looked at Isaac. "It not doing the stuff to get you in trouble that is fun, it is the thrill of doing that certain task that is fun Isaac" She smiled her flirtatious and devious smile. She hadn't thought of sucking up to the teachers to get what she wanted. I might just have to try that someday Via thought to herself. She looked over at Gray and raised her eyebrow. "Is that a challenge my dear?" She leaned closer to him "if it is challenge accepted." She stood up since the teacher didn't start the class yet. Via walked over to Gray just as another student what talking about a get together. "What is this I hear about a little get together" She asked as she sat on the edge of Gray's desk "Hi, I am Vianna but everyone calls me Via" She smiled at Gray "What's your name beautiful" She asked moving a strain of hair behind Gray's ear. She was flirting with her but was watching Isaac out of the corner of her eye.

Griffin stood as they were dismissed. He thought homeroom was a waste of time. He honestly didn't see the point of it. He waited until most of the others to moving towards the door. Next was geography. At least that class had a purpose. It would be helpful to know where things were. Hopefully he wouldn't be expected to know too much. His knowledge was limited. School had never been something he had been allowed to focus on.

He didn't really care about school. But he knew that he would need to have more than his skills to make it on his own. There were things he needed to know to be able to build a life away from his father. And that Griffin's current plan. He made his way through the halls doing his best to avoid contact with the others in the halls. It would take some time for him to get used to being around so many people.

Isaac wasn't sure what was happening when Via stood up, she couldn't be leaving him to sit with someone else. He'd have a lot ruder names to call her if that was the case. Laughing softly, he rested his head on his palm while Via seemed to flirt with another girl in class. "Get us an invite," he mouthed at her. Was she trying to make him jealous? It wasn't likely to work, he was already setting his sights on someone he had seen in the hallways last semester. She was pretty though, he hoped she didn't just use it for things like this, there was so much more potential in using her looks. "Via, darling, why did you leave me?" he whispered teasingly, holding out his hand towards her with a slight pout. Get back here.


Payton glanced up when Lacey didn't leave the room with the rest of the class. "Oh, I'm sorry." Not really, but he didn't much care if he made one student look like a teachers pet. "Lacey, you're a good student, it'd be nice if the rest of the kids could be like you. You want to be called out if you misbehave? You realize that if that's what you're asking for then your progress reports to the dean may be somewhat lacking. It's called leading by example and it looks great for getting out of here." He wasn't going to comment on how asking the instructor to only call you out for misbehaving almost sounded... wrong.

He was probably just jaded after being in this school for so long. He'd had students hit on him and he'd seen lots of promiscuous students. He didn't think Lacey was that type. "Look, Ms. Lacey, if you really would like me to just ignore that you're doing what you're supposed to I will. I don't think you could be looked down on that much for just following directions, right?"

"Yeah, I guess you're right. You've been here for a while so you know what you're doing. But honestly, if you can let me know what I gotta do to to get out of here by the end of this semester, any suggestions are highly welcomed...even if I have to be labeled the goody two shoes of the academy. This place is nice and all, but the lack of freedom is what kills it. Anyway, nice talking with you. I gotta run before I'm late. That won't look good on my record."

With a smile and a quick wave, Lacey rushed out of Payton's classroom and headed to Geography next. She had some slight interest in the subject, but the delivery is without a doubt what either makes it or kills it. A really good teacher can make the most boring subject sound at least a little bit exciting, and that's true talent.

"Are you hating this place as much as the rest of us yet?" she said after spotting the new kid and walking up to him.

She was taken aback by the student approaching her, in the midst of things - and nodded. "Alright, we'll speak after class," She noted, and watched a few more students filed into the classroom. Victoria ignored Gray's comment, feeding into them wasn't going to make the beginning of this semester any easier. She began to pass out papers and lay them on the students desk, the grand old Syllabus - Victoria personally thought they were waste of trees, but it was required by the school for her to pass them out. As she approached the small group of chattering students, she handed each one standing a syllabus. "Please take your seat, I'll be starting class now," She smiled warmly, and turned on her heel - placing the papers back onto her desk and walking towards the center of the classroom.

"Okay class," Her voice boomed rather loudly, "Please take your seats, I'll hold to my promise if you hold to yours". Her eyes looked towards the clock, "I'll am asking is for....45 minutes of your precious school time - all eyes on me, pretend you're listening if you have too. But your first test is next Friday..." She pushed a lock of hair behind her ear, and gestured towards the map behind her. "I'm not sure about you all, but I love the earth - we have been blessed with so much to see, and so little time...." She walked over to the world map, rolling it back up above the whiteboard - then strolled over to the light switch, flipping the lights off and turning the projector on with a remote she had. It panned onto the whiteboard, the first image being an image of Sunset Cliffs in California, the sun was setting deep shades of pink, purples, and golds painted the sky. "I'm sure you all are intelligent enough to know the definition of Geography...so we're going to jump into how the universe affects the earth. The moon and tides, solar energy..." She flipped through a couple more pictures of beaches, lakes, and deep canyons as she walked over towards her desk. "We'll be mapping areas, learning latitude, longitude, how to find your if you're ever lost...maybe - hopefully, we can talk the Academy into letting you guys go on a hiking fieldtrip". Her eyes stayed on the pictures as she began to go over the tides, leaving time for students to take advantage of her blindspot.

Gray looked at Sevyn and her eye twitched slightly. "I believe it would possible for you to join us in our reveries for tonight. Especially if you are able to bring your own, substances." She said to her. Though she was portraying no emotion, she was excited. She hadn't had anything since she had been here.

Then she saw Via and her attempts at flirtation. She stared her in the eye. "Hello Via. My name is Gray. You seem like a person who does things only for their own gain. What could you possibly hope to gain by talking to me?"

Via saw out of the corner of her eye Isaac reaching his hand towards her with a small pout. She smiled slightly. "To be completely honest Gray, I have nothing to gain but a possible friend" She looked down acting innocent "That if you would even be friends with a girl like me. Also I am looking for a bit of fun in this hell hole that we are in" She looked up at Gray when she registered that the teacher asked them to take their seats. "Can we talk later?" She asked Gray before walking back to her seat. "Damn teacher ruined my fun" Via whispered to Isaac as she sat back down.

Griffin wasn't really paying attention as he made his way to through the galls. He didn't expect anyone to be very social. They were crimals and outcasts. None of them were likely to be willing to open themselves up. Or so he thought. Which was he was surprise when one of the girls started walking next to him and started talking. He looked around sure that she wasn't talking to him. While there were others around none of them were very close.
"I just got here. I haven't been here long enough to form an opinion. But I've known worse places." He answered. He studied her curiously. He wondered what she had done to get in her but he wouldn't ask. Atleast not yet. He had no intention of talking about his past. His wasn't ashamed of what he had done but he wasn't proud of it either. He had done what he felt had to be done.

Micah had simply tolerated the nearly unintelligible whispering of the two ladies and guy in front of him up to this point. When it escalated to a stage where everyone involved seemed to be getting handsier, Micah blew his bangs again and grumbled, "Get a room, slut" out of the corner of his mouth. Maybe their geography teacher would help them locate the Cartesian coordinates of said room. Holy shit, did I just voluntarily want that? he wondered incredulously. The mental reply from his proverbial left shoulder demon whispered, You're going soft, Micah while the other half, the almost better side, simultaneously thought I have GOT to stop watching Chris Angel.

As if by thinking of her, he had summoned her up, the girl that Kieren had assumed an escapee sat down next to him. He shuffled a little in his seat to make room for her and frowned; he hadn't really wanted to give up the free space next to him. He pulled his bag across to the other side of him, knowing full well that there were thieves and not willing to risk that the girl sitting next to him was one of them. Not that he had anything that looked interesting or important in there.

He looked up at (@ineffable) the girl and glanced over her. She was very pretty and had an innocent-looking face. He imagined she could have run rings around the police with a face and lips like that. She raised an eyebrow at him and instantly his fondness was gone. He'd had that same look from his mother for years. He replied to her bluntly, "attempted murder. My old man claimed I'm unstable so they sent me to this shit-hole instead. Suppose you're here like most of them - face like that you'd make a good con-artist."

"Fair enough. It's hard to adjust at first, I mean at least it was for me. I was extremely relieved when I wasn't sent to jail, so I thought I was going to catch a break, but nope...this place only gives you the illusion of freedom, whereas if you get sent to jail you know from the start what you've gotten yourself into."

As they approached the classroom, she looked through the narrow glass opening on the door. "Damn, they've already started. Sometimes you can't catch a break," Lacey shrugged her shoulders, opening the door and briefly holding it for the new kid. She could tell she had some eyes on her as she headed straight for one of the empty seats in the back as a feeble attempt to avoid bringing as much attention to her as possible.

Remy watched as Via flirted with Gray and her roommate had all but a snappy reply to her. She smiled. Yep she liked her roommate so far. "You can bring whoever you like, as long as they're fun!", she said to basically anyone who was listening in on them. "After classes. Bring some fun. And everybody look sexy, alright? You never know what kind of game we gonna play. Hopefully something with kissing." Remy shrugged. She knew it sounded a bit weird, but she wouldn't mind kissing or making out. While she loved having a serious relationship and falling in love, she also liked to have some not-so-serious fun sometimes (of course only when she was single!).

"Alright, time to kill the chit chatting", she said with a wave of her hand as the teacher called for them to sit and started the lesson. She looked at Via for a second, she had liked her but somehow her liking for her already drifted off, that's okay, crushes come and go. She didn't mind. She looked at Gray, she seemed intelligent, nice enough and fun to be around. Hopefully the semester would be fun with her as her roommate. She hoped so. And then her focus went to the teacher. She tried to pay attention the best she could, but geography was her kryptonite. She just couldn't focus on it, it went in and out of her mind in one go, she couldn't keep a hold of it somehow.

Her eyes focused on the pictures the teacher was showing them but she couldn't understand much of her talking. She wasn't stupid, she was quiet smart actually, just not in this very subject, this one stupid subject.

When the boy had said that he was here for attempted murder Shay tried hard to keep her face straight. Honestly, she thought these people were here for the normal accounts of shoplifting and DUIs but this? She pretended like it was no problem, even though it was bugging her a lot. Her parents were going to send her here?!
"Attempted murder...What a crime." She drawled her words out, taking time with each syllable.
He was talking about her face now. She had an impulse to touch it before she realized what he was saying.
What were the rest of them here for?
Were they really con artists?
"I'm actually here for getting caught racing cars. Don't know how many of us they have here but I've seen no familiar faces." Shay had a sudden ache to be back with all of the others, leaning against her beat up racing car with a Gatorade in one hand and a friend's hand in the other.

She glanced around at the class and found it un amusing so she looked back to him. She hadn't even introduced herself yet.
"By the way, I'm Shay. Or Sheila, anything's fine. You can call me Shitface if you'd like." She allowed herself a laugh at that one, casting one of her numerous smiles at him.
"Anyways, do you guys do handshakes here?"
She reaches out a delicate hand towards him.

Griffin shrugged. He didn't know anything about jail or juvie. While he had been a criminal most of his life he had been caught. Of course he had grown up surrounded by criminals so that had a lot to do with it. His father was a crime boss who most people thought was a respectable business man. Which was only partly true. He was pretty sure that he would have more freedom here than he would have had in jail but he would have in jail. He thought that even jail would allow him more freedom than what he had had at home.

He sighed when the girl announced that they were late. Well so much for his idea of not attracting a lot of attention. It looked like he was doomed to be late to everything. He supposed it would tell the teachers that he shouldn't have too high of expectations when it came to his performance. He doubted he would impress anyone. He made his way towards one of the available open desks.

Kieren watched Sheila talking and found himself frowning. She wasn't like the others in the room, she seemed on edge and calculating. She wasn't so sure of herself like some he had seen around the room flirting and writing on the board. His bluntness had done its intended job and she had become almost patronizing with the way she drawled through the sentence, but her eyes showed a flicker of uncertainty. He wondered whether he should keep up the talk about murder to scare her away, when she mentioned racing and caught his attention.

He heard her name and the nicknames and shook his head, taking her hand, "No, we don't shake hands; we fistbump and perform a synchronized hand-shake routine," he paused allowing himself to smirk and shake her hand, "I'm Kieren. Call me anything else and it'll be a different kind of handshake next time, shithead." He drew his hand away and looked across to the teacher (@LadyinInk). She had her head down and was droning on about tides, completely blind to the class. He glanced to the door, which was propped open slightly. He could make a run for it. Ms Rancine wasn't paying any attention at all to the rest of the class, it was possible that she was trying to drown out the chatter and push through the lesson as quickly as possible. It would be easy to sneak past her. That was, until two more students walked in.(@Xandrya@KatherinWinter) They made the idea of running out of the room impossible due to the fact that they would almost definitely draw the teacher's attention. Fucking pity.

Instead, Kieren looked back to Sheila. "So you're in here for racing? Ever raced a motorbike?" he asked, keeping his voice low.

He was different. Definitely. Shay gave herself a couple of moments to look Kieran up and down. Not bad on the looks she could see, but after all he was an almost murderer. Looks didn't give him a discount. He seemed fairly laid back, and cunning. it would be fun to have a chat with him. His eyes bored into her and she had the urge to look away but didn't. If she was going to survive here she would have to be tough. If not, she would get beaten to a pulp.

She followed Kieran's eye movement to the teacher (@LadyinInk) and smiled out of the corner of her mouth. Grimey (don't ask about the name), a friend of hers at the tracks had always had an interest in this subject. Which explained how she already knew what the teacher was saying. Tides, was it? Grimey should get together with Ms. Rancine (was that her name?) sometime. She'll introduce them one day, maybe if she got out of here without being sent to the ER first.

"Yeah, that's why I'm in here. Luckily all of the older folks at the track didn't get caught. They could've faced jail. As for the motorbike...No. I do well with cars. I do know a friend though, her name's Glin. She likes motorbikes. Been trying to get me on one for ages now but I'm too accustomed to cars. Why ask? You like motorbikes?"

Kieren nodded, mumbling an affirmation, "Mmm." He glanced around the room before settling back on Sheila. "I have one... fixed it up from a pile of rust. I'd give anything to be out there on the roads again instead of being stuck in this place.. I'm gonna go stir-crazy without it I swear." He cracked his knuckles, then turned his head to another girl making her voice much louder on purpose (@KahleenCuthald). He raised an eyebrow and shook his head, hearing the 'party' invitation.

"What do you think, shithead? Are you interested in those kinds of things? That is if we're invited." He raised his voice slightly and looked at Remy for his final sentence. (@ineffable)

Shay sighed. Another party? She'd had her fair share of parties back at home. Not that she went. She leaned against the desk, scribbling a couple of small notes about smuggling the old, loyal Shaker (her car) into the academy onto her notebook. If she just had Shaker she could probably get out of here quickly and with the comrades she chose.
"Anyways, I'm not that hyped out about any parties. If there are no motors then there won't be a Shay" . She laughed at her stupid motto before raising her head
"Wanna go break into some teacher garage and get some cars? I haven't been joyriding in a long time. You can go and get your motorcycle even. It's a good deal..." she sing songed. Better than stupid parties where people hooked up and generally made a nuisance of themselves anyway.
