Personality :Manon internalized certain behavior and values, such as discipline and stoicism; traits that have long been upheld and instilled within her family. She often smiles politely, even when upset or insulted, and raises her voice only rarely. Instead, she's often quiet and prefers to let others speak, listen to their thoughts, and weigh in with precisely targeted opinions and concerns. She has little need for recognition and she is not very prideful. It follows that she has no qualms with putting herself into positions others may find "beneath" them. Should a rare situation occur where she does feel humiliated, she usually does not let her feelings shine through, concealing them instead, and work to resolve her dilemma.
Due to her upbringing, Manon is a very earnest and hard-working individual. She can work under pressure and never complains about work. Basic knowledge of many essential survival tasks, laws, cultures, and other handy areas of expertise are stowed away in the corners of her mind. She can - and has - utilized firearms before, she can make fire, treat simple wounds and is generally a rather useful person to have around. In spite of her ability and willingness to care for others, however, she isn't one to lift the mood or get peoples' mind off of things--at least not intentionally. Overall, she is a modest person, seemingly not in pursuit of riches or other such things.
Manon learned how important it can be to be kind and emphatic during her early adult years, thanks to the genuine compassion and kindness that came with the relationship with her late fiancé, and has made great efforts to be caring herself. While she rarely lets her own guards down, and never shows weakness or otherwise elicits other people's pity, she has no issues lending a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to vent to. One should not mistake this willingness to help with openness however, as Sam is generally closed off and dislikes being drilled with questions. In fact, those who persistently inquire about her personal life may find themselves greeted with a rare aggressive or nervous response.
Background :Manon Sophia Blackfremt was born into a prominent military family, whose service dates far back into the compulsory service, and persisted even when military service became optional in in the 1960s. The Blackfremt household was dominated by virtues such as diligence, discipline, and respect, to a degree some may describe as obsessive. The domestic environment, with highly virtuous ideals, and her being the only girl next to four brothers--and the youngest sibling at that--resulted in Manon growing up to become an unusually tough and emancipated.
In spite of her upbringing, Manon held little ambition to join the military. While her family credited the rebellious act as a temporary issue--which they faulted Manon's boyfriend for--the girl stood by her decision even after her 18th birthday, resulting in a fallout with most of her family. Saddened, she instead continued her studies, and instead moved in with the man her family described as a no-good hippie, who would go on to later become Manon's fiancé. Barely an adult, Manon had to balance the lack of support, her education, and her poorly paying job. Still, she was happy, doing what she believed was right, and building her future alongside the man she loved.
However, the happiness would only last for barely three more years.
Shortly after finishing her degree, Manon and her fiancé were dealt a severe blow, as Manon gave stillbirth to a child neither of them had planned. Still, the experience struck the young woman with grief. And yet, when it seemed life couldn't throw more at them, the worst was still to come. Only a mere three months later, Manon's fiancé, and last pillar in her life, went missing. At first, Manon was almost catatonic. Then, hoped. And finally, had to face fate, and accept that he was gone.
Over the next year, Manon scrambled to piece her life back together, but made a decision. Perhaps, her family would get what they wanted after all... Kind of. Manon enlisted in the CCG Ghould Investigator Training Academy. Despite no formal experience in military or police, her family's track record as well as her established skill set were sufficient for her acceptance. In fact, Manon blasted through her education at the Academy; Due to her lack of personal interests or hobbies her sole focus was the work at the academy, netting her a recommendation after only one year. The recommendation lead to an unorthodox acceptance into the ghoul investigations, making her a Rank 3 Investigator--An investigator without the formal graduation. Though the chain of events was peculiar, the truly bizarre decision came with the invitation to partake in the Quinx program. Manon accepted immediately, making her one of the least experienced Quinx within the CCG.
