-Government Description:
The Birch Tribes are a loose tribal confederacy of various races and species. They are united in their following of the Birch Man, an ancient prophet of an extinct race who, through a pact with the Justinian, wishes to revive his species and re-establish a utopia for his fallen people. The Birch Man is the overall leader of the Birch Tribes, which number in the hundreds. Under him, various tribal and sub-tribal leaders follow his orders, united in the belief that the spirits of the Birch Man's fallen race inhabit their bodies. The Birch Man calls a Clan meeting every five years to discuss the Matters of the Forest. All the tribes are autonomous and have the right to leave the Confederacy as they wish. Not one tribe has left the confederacy since its founding 200 years previous.

NATIONAL INFORMATION:

-Government Type: Militaristic Monarchy
-Government Description: The Tileria government is based entirely around the Knight Orders that dominate society. At any time, there are nearly one hundred such Orders, each Order controlling perhaps a city, town, or maybe even just a fort. The Grand Master of each order is called to the capital twice a year to vote on matters of importance, representing the people of his/her specific domain. The larger their domain, the more sway their vote will carry in court. The strongest and most powerful Knight Order serves as a sort of Royal Order, with the Grand Master acting as the High Lord of the Realm. This position is highly fluid, with no one Order ever holding the position for more than ten years.

The modern Tileria traces it origins back a time when recorded history was not kept, for no one lived long enough to write it down. The old Tilerian Federation was a loose association of towns united in trying to survive the dangers of the world around them. Monsters and beasts from the neighboring regions preyed on the people regularly, and the Kings of Tileria were from a blood line of weak wills, not willing to or able to fight back. It was at this time that a wandering Knight of the God Justinian came to Tileria. He saw the suffering the people were facing, and confronted the King. When the monarch refused to fight back, preferring to hide behind his walls while his people died, he struck the man down himself. He gave an impassioned speech to those in the court, and earned their faith, and loyalty. He led the people of Tileria against the monsters that hunted them, driving them back at great cost. With this purge he brought the faith of Justinian to the people of Tileria, and at every battle site, a new monument or temple was erected in honor of their new deity. When Tileria was secured against the monster threat, the Knight proceeded to found the first Knight Orders across the land, to help safe guard and protect the common people. These Knight Orders formed the core military force

UNIQUE ATTRIBUTE INFORMATION:
1. Decentralized Government-Tileria is largely governed by the numerous individual Knightly Orders. Towns and villages that fall under a Orders Domain profit from the protection of regular and numerous Knight patrols to protect their lands, in turn they provide food and levies to the Orders. The High Lord has general control of the nation, but leaves minor matters to be dealt with by the Grand Masters.
2. A Hardy People-Due to the nature of their homeland, and the severity of the threat they face, the people of Tileria have been forced to adapt and become a tough people as well. They are generally tougher than people of other lands, and their Knights are near each super soldiers in their own right when engaged in battle against the foes of Justinian.

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION:

-Major Locations of Interest:
1. The Citadel, the capital of Tileria. The Citadel itself is a massive multi layered spire, with numerous walls and battlements spanning the length of its defenses. Situated within the inner keep resides the Hollow Hall, the governmental seat of Tileria. It is a vast chamber with seats for all the Grand Masters of the varied Orders, with banners depicting the many victories Tileria has won against its foes over the years. At the end of the Hall resides the Throne of Justinian, a massive Golden Throne inlaid with scripture from Justinian himself, and draped with the banners of all the Orders who have fallen in his name against the enemies of Justinian. This seat remains vacant at all times, for only the God himself is allowed to sit in this Throne.

2. Built on the field of the final battle in the old wars to secure the new Tileria homeland, the Mausoleum of the Fallen sits. It is a massive structure, rivaling the size of some cities. It is shaped like a large wheel, with a center spire rising high into the air, piercing the clouds above. Every structure is made of the purest obsidian ores, lending a deathly aspect to the place, even during the day. Spread out in ever larger rings are the halls of the Fallen, each built in remembrance of an Order of Knights that have been destroyed in battle. Within each Museum, the names of every Knight from the Order are etched into the very walls, with a pyre burning in the center at all times. Pilgrims from across Tileria will often travel to the Mausoleum of the Fallen to pay their respects to ancestors of the various Orders, or to simply honor the fallen warriors of Justinian.

3. Ulingrad, the largest city within Tileria, housing a large portion of the population as a whole. It is located to the far west of Tileria lands, and acts as one of the few locations trade passes through Tileria lands. Several Knight Orders reside within the city, each contributing forces to protecting the lands around the city, and often holding competitions against one another to entertain the people.

RACIAL(species) INFORMATION:

-Minority race(s): Dwarves located within Tilea to help with the armor and weapon production that goes on within Tileria.
RELIGIOUS INFORMATION:
-State Religion: Heterodox Justinian

-Religion Demographics: Nearly every single citizen within Tileria are loyal to Justinian in faith.
-Major Holy Relics/Artifacts in Possession: The High Lord of Tileria wields the Golden Sword Deliverance, an ancient blade rumored to have been given to the original Warrior and High Lord of Tileria, given to him by Justinian himself when he went out to do his Lords work. Upon the ascension of a new High Lord, the blade is placed at the foot of the Throne of Justinian for a fortnight. It is seen as the blade being purged by the holy light of Justinian himself. Upon the end of the fortnight, the new High Lord must ascend the steps of the Throne, all two hundred of them, barefoot and on burning coals. Only if he reaches the top may he claim the blade and position of High Lord.

-Notable Magical Institutions: Within every city across Tileria, there is a Knightly Institution, where young boys and girls who seek to become Knights must go at the age of eight. Should they pass the rigorous tests and challenges set before them, on their thirteenth birthday, they shall undergo a Selection. The Initiate is taken to a secluded room where they are questioned and their minds pried open by a board of instructors. Once the darkest truths and secrets of the Initiates are revealed, they are taken to a chamber where representatives of all the Knightly Orders wait. The Initiate is given the option to choose which Order they would like to join, but each of the Knights have received the secrets of the child, and have the right to deny the Initiate entry. If they are accepted, they are sent out with the Knight back to the Orders Keep, where they will train for the rest of their days to become a Knight.
-Religious Interpretations/Culture: Tileria follows the faith of Justinian in their own way. They believe the innocent are to be protected at all costs, for they are the ones that will inherit the world when Justinian leads the Knights of Tileria in the Final Crusade. As such, any threats to the common people of Tileria, whether from external threats of other Faiths, or other Justinian's that have come within their border, are ruthlessly exterminated without mercy. They do not see the other versions of Justinian Sects as true followers of his Faith, and often come to blows with those who try and encroach their will on the people of Tileria.

MILITARY INFORMATION:
Total Military Size: Across Tileria, there are roughly 40,000 Knights of Justinian, spread out across the various Knightly Orders. Each Order also maintains a Levy force of soldiers to act as Infantry, archers, and spearmen. These men and women make up the large majority of the Tileria military, with a standing force of roughly 500,000. This large army is made up of militia forces drawn up in times of need, and are dispersed back to their regular lives when the crisis passes. Both men and women can serve in military roles.

Military Doctrine: Tileria Knights ride into battle against their enemies, and are almost always the first into the fray. They will fight in Guerrilla assaults, full frontal charges, and night times ambushes. No form of warfare is seen as below them, as each is simply a different way to bring death to the enemies of Justinian. The Levy forces of Tileria are formed into regiments, and marched into battle, fighting shoulder to shoulder with their comrades.
Military Units:
1. Justinian Knights-Warriors wearing head to toe plate armor, and mounted on large war horses bred for war. They are the shock troops of Tileria, and the acting officers in the field when needed. Depending on the region, and the Order's themselves, Tilerian Knights might also ride Wyverns, Orak, and large Direwolves found in the north most regions of the cold lands.
2. Tileria Swordman-The most common soldier in Tileria, armed with a simple sword and shield, and wearing thick leather armor.
3. Tileria Spearman-The anti calvary/beast force of Tileria. These men and women are taught to fight in close quarter units, with long pikes or short spears.
4. Tileria Archers-Men and woman trained and armed with long bows, crossbows, and short bows.
5. Tilerian Rifles-Men and women armed with fire arms.
6. Golem-Magically created giants used to fight Tilerian wars.
7. Hawk Auxiliary-Tilerian soldiers mounted on giant hawks, and serve as scouts and fast response patrols across Tilerian territory.
8. Tilerian Marine-Due to their location, and the nature of their history, Tileria maintains a sizable naval force to deal with any potential threats, and to expedite their crusade in the North. Tilerian Marines are trained extensively in hand to hand combat and boarding operations, as well as rapid raids and assaults on coastal settlements.
