Isaac tried to hold in his chuckles when Via came back and said her fun was ruined. "What were you trying to do?" He opened a notebook to pretend like he was writing, instead putting notes in the margin for Via to read. Did you get us an invite to whatever they are doing? Maybe we should do our own party. Who wouldn't want to go to that? Surely if they didn't want to sleep with either Via or him, they would want the free booze and drugs that they could get.

Micah

Micah divided his attention between listening for the seemingly spaced out geography teacher's next words and the growing clamor of students discussing the possibility of a party. Did his ears deceive him? A small smile played out on Micah's lips. Parties were his speciality. It didn't matter if he heard the exact room number. Micah was a diehard party animal at heart and he had the scent of potential liquor, hardcore console video games, and staying up all night jamming.

Naturally, there were ways around not being able to have overly loud music. If this party had Micah, it would no doubt find those ways with relative ease. No, not if it had him, when. He wondered if any of the kids had had any better luck sneaking dope in. He'd been practicing his mildly interested, "I'm really not high" face for the few excruciatingly sober weeks he had had before coming here. With the opportunity to partake again so unexpectedly close at hand, he found his palms moist and his breath hitching in anticipation. Wiping the offending sweaty digits dry with a double swipe on his excruciatingly stiff and uncomfortable uniform pants, he nonchalantly found himself straining his ears to pick up any details that might make Operation Party Bloodhound Mode slightly easier.

REMIRA LANKFROD

The idea of throwing a little party was a random thing that she hadn't planned. She hoped that the students here were smart enough to know that no party in their rooms would contain loud music. They couldn't be so stupid to give the teachers a reason to check the room and realize what was going on.

Remy was a tad surprised when a boy with red faux-hawk hair spoke into the room, instead of directly at her, asking if he was invited as well. The woman shot the boy a look and noticed him looking at her. She gave him a slight nod of her head - it was a yes from her. If he wanted, he could come. She didn't mind. She could just leave if she started to dislike anyone's presence too much. She was fine with anyone joining their little get-together. As long as they respected that her bedroom was a taboo zone.

Remira looked over at her roommate and gave her a slight, soft smile. She hoped that the girl was okay with the people that were invited so far - basically everyone who wanted to come, she didn't say no to anyone as of yet. "We should probably get some crackers and soda." She didn't really mean crackers and soda of course, but the thought of a party without drinks (a few not alcoholic ones would be there as well, just in case some liked to mix or simply didn't wanna drink alcohol), potato chips and other sweets wasn't really a party.

Her eyes fixated onto the teacher again. She had mentioned a hike or something. Remy couldn't help but enjoy the idea. It would give her time to maybe talk a little to the teacher, she needed her help. And fresh air was a wonderful thing, nature was a wonderful thing most of the time and how often would they get off these grounds anyway...

She tried to listen to the words of the teacher, but her mind couldn't focus on them. She couldn't force her brain to concentrate on geography. Why was this subject so hard on her?

Gray looked at Remy. "I am perfectly fine with you inviting whoever you want." She told her. "And I fully agree. I can help you get some food for the party." She fully understood what Remy was insinuating. But the she was hoping one of the guests would bring their own crackers. Minus the ers.

Victoria

"Hope you guys are writing this down...." Victoria finally turned her attention to the class, to see of course mingling, flirting, socializing. "Well...looks as if we're using up our free time now, so..." She continued on with the mundane aspects of the moon, and tides. As every subject goes, you kind of touch base on things from the year before and increase the difficulty throughout the year. Victoria hated that, cause usually there were a few students who had some comment to make on the fact that they 'already knew it', too which she responded 'yeah I teach this every year, your point?' But alas, that isn't very professional.

She slid off of her desk, and walked around to the back of it. Turning the projector to the next bit, mapping - coordinates. She walked over to the bookcase, bending down to grab the larger globe of the several ones that adorned it. She turned back to the class, spinning on her heel and began to explain coordinates. After looking back up, and realizing she was still losing most of the class, she decided to end there. "Okay guys, I'm going to give you homework, or if you utilize the next...." She looked at the time, and realized she had already been droning on for a good portion of the class. "10 minutes, you can turn it in before leave. I've given you 7 coordinates. Tell me their locations. Then, bonus question - When are the tides the greatest, what is their effect? When at the tides the lowest, what is their effect?" She grabbed the stack of papers, and walked down each aisle placing the worksheet on each desk.

Kieren

@ineffable @KahleenCuthald
Kieren caught the nod from Remy and sent her one back before he turned to Shay and saw her musing over the idea. He smirked slightly at her suggestion of joyriding and for a moment he considered taking her up on the offer. He longed for his bike, even just to work on the engine again and the feeling of the wind rushing against him as he rode it. It was tempting. "You know... ask me in a week or two and I'll take you up on that offer straight away... but I don't want to get into that much shit just yet. Semester just started; why not break the rules slightly and see how bad security is around here with a party first? Besides, we can always sneak out when the party gets boring.. I could use several drinks before getting into a car anyway." He trailed off, frowning before looking back up at Ms Rancine.

His eyes followed her around the classroom, then watched her place a worksheet on his desk. He scanned it, then raised an eyebrow. He actually knew how to plot coordinates - his father had taught him to do it when he was younger and then he had continued to do so on his road trips. "Ms Rancine? You're saying we can do this homework now and hand it in now?" @LadyinInk

Micah appreciated the view as the teacher slid off the desk, went over to a bookcase and bent down to grab a book. It was funny how his lucky guess that she'd be teaching them Cartesian coordinates had been right. Fortunately or unfortunately, this was the only part about geography that Micah knew anything about. He lazily grabbed the school-provided notebook and pen that lay on each student's desk, flipped open to the first blank striped page, and scrawled the correct locations for seven out of eight coordinate pairs the teacher had up on her projector. The eighth one, as well as the questions about tides, were just about lost on him.

For the tide questions, he wrote: [i]"Tides are greatest at night and that means more water closest to beach. Tides are lowest at noonish and that means beached whales are fucked." He deliberated crossing out the expletive, but decided that he didn't care. Detention was nothing new to Mr. Jefferies.

Gray looked at the worksheet when it was placed in front of her. This was a subject she knew, so she just started as soon as Ms. Rancine was gone. She knew this stuff, just didn't care for it. She finished up the normal questions and looked at the bonus. Tides? Really? This was something they should have already known since Elementary. Whatever. She did and wrote down, 'The tides are highest at midnight whent the moon is at its highest and the effect is that a large majority of the beach or surrounding area is covered in water. Tides are at their lowest at noon, when the sun is at its highest, and the effect is that many marine life is left beached.' Then at the bottom of the page she put, '*Sorry about the comment before. I also quite like the idea of a hike or something like that for a class trip. P.S. I could suggest a great many great dating simulators if you are ever in the mood.'

Shay just about almost rolled her eyes at Kieran (@FalkiThomas) as he said that he wasn't interested. Who wasn't interested in the purr of a motor and the feeling of control? Well his loss. Actually, a party sounded interesting, she could get to know other people. Have at least some resemblance to a social life in young delinquent school.
"Ah, then I'll ask you later. I'll be at the party as well. Hey, could you give me your phone number? Might as well text you whenever I want to break into the garage." Shay hoped it didn't sound like she was flirting with him. She really hoped it didn't sound like that. She didn't want to be called a bad name while she was here.

Ms. Rancine (@LadyinInk) put down the worksheet in front of her and she looked at it with curious eyes. She thought that delinquent school would be harder.
"Thank you, Ms. Rancine. Do we have homework?" She hoped that Ms. Rancine hadn't already talked about homework earlier and she would get back in trouble.

interacting with:
Griffin watched the others. They all seemed so relaxed. He didn't understand how they had the confidence to interact. Some of them were so casual that he wondered if they had known each other outside of the academy. Of course some of them had been here longer than he had been so it was likely they were used to each other. He on the other hand had never been around this many people his own age.

He ignored most of the teachers rambling. He doubted that he would ever need to know any thing about the tide or the moon. He couldn't imagine what either would have to do with the life he planned to live after he got out. He saw no point in struggling to understand things that he wouldn't use. He was curious to see who responded to get challenge. He didn't have the first clue. Of course part of that was because he hadn't been paying attention to her review.

Lacey simply nodded when she was handed the worksheet. She was without a doubt going to get it done as soon as possible to avoid having homework later on, and one could easily tell the others felt the same way.

"Yeah, this isn't so bad," she said to herself, looking over the questions. She wasn't in high school anymore, therefore the academic pressure wasn't anywhere near as high. She would apply herself, but she wouldn't necessarily stress over a deadline like she's done in the past. Making the most of the little time that was left, Lacey quickly got to writing her answers, the voices of her classmates dancing around somewhere in the back of her mind. It wasn't particularly distracting, she just hoped it wouldn't get her in trouble. After all, most of the time she got in trouble was simply because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

VIA

Via was off in her own little world for a portion of the class. She heard more about the party. She wanted to get her and Isaac an invite. She finally looked at Isaac's notebook. We could throw our own party unless I get an invite for us to the other one. I wasn't able to get one because the teacher ruined my fun. She smiled at him. She looked down at the paper that the teacher put down in front of her. via was good at school. She would never admit it to anyone. She jotted down her answers quickly. Before Via was a bad girl, she would study varies locations to go to so she knew where the places were. She sighed after she was done and walked up to the teacher to hand it in. She hated homework more then anything. As she was walking back she stopped by Grey's desk. She leaned down and whispered "Is anyone invited to this party?" She looked at Grey and tilted her head.

Griffin left the classroom the minute the bell rang. He headed to the next class. He looked at his schedule. What was difference between study hall and homeroom? Why on earth was a school that was supposed to make them productive members of society wasting so much time doing nothing? No one needed this much time for school work. Not that he was going to complain. He just wasn't used to having this much time on his hands.

Roxy made her way to study hall. They had been encouraged to mingle and get to know the students. She had mixed feelings about the idea. She hoped to show some of them that there was a chance at a better life. But she also didnt want to get too close to them. While she had come along ways since she graduated she wasn't ready to allow others into the world she was trying to build yet..

Thomas was leaning back on one of the chairs in the library as he watched the students slowly make their way inside. He'd received study hall duty once more after avoiding it for an entire year just prior to the start of the current semester. He only hoped the new students were somewhat cooperative and wouldn't cause too much trouble, although everyone there knew that was wishful thinking.

With her book in hand, Lacey entered the library. Since it was only their first day, she was looking forward to some down time without having to bury herself in information she'd just learned. She was just about to make her way to the back of the library when she noticed a familiar face sitting down on a chair, watching them. Her face instantly dropped, and without wasting another second, she made her way over to her cousin whom she hadn't seen in quite some time.

"Tom? What are you doing here?"

"I should be asking you the same question," Thomas replied, getting up to walk away from the crowd of students walking in. Lacey followed him a little too eagerly, and he knew things would only get more complicated as the time went by. "I work here, been doing it for a couple of years now."

Thomas looked down at his younger cousin, noticing she'd cut her hair and was slightly unrecognizable from the last time he'd seen her.

"Well I've been here for 6 months and I haven't seen you before, it's just...surprising." Lacey looked behind her. She noticed they were catching some glances, but nothing out of the ordinary. "What class do you teach?"

"Spanish," he replied.

"Of course, should have figured. I have you later in the afternoon, by the way, and I guess that means no homework!"

Thomas frowned. "Not a chance, you'll be treated just like every other student." He slid his hands in his pockets and started to walk away.

"But--"

"I mean it, Lacey. Now go catch up on whatever work you have and I'll see you in class." Without saying another word, Thomas walked away, leaving Lacey alone to take care of her work.

Kieren nodded briefly at Shay, "Yeah sure." he said, grabbing a sheet of paper and pen from her side of the desk and scribbling his name and number in the corner of it quickly. He hoped that his scrawling 6-year-old-style handwriting was legible and especially so on his worksheet. He quickly scribbled down some answers before dropping the pen back in front of Shay and standing up. He had seen some of the students beginning to leave and decided not to stick around. Study hall was next and he wanted a spot near the door so he could attempt to sneak out if he needed to. He tapped Shay on the shoulder, "Hey, you joining for study hall?" he asked. @ineffable

Tori strode through the doors of the hall with his shoulders back and eyebrows set into a firm line. He checked his watch and rolled his eyes, clicking his tongue softly. The students had one minute left to be on time and he doubted that they were in any sort of rush to get here. He relaxed his shoulders a little and strode towards the other two faculty members in the room. Both didn't look like they wanted to be there. Tori understood - it was a dull session and the students spent most of the time slacking off or causing trouble. Thomas was already engaged in a conversation, so he veered towards Roxy. He hadn't seen her much and hadn't had much time to talk with her before, in fact he couldn't recall ever being on duty with her either. He paused next to her and for a second, he felt awkward and unsure.

He cleared his throat and nodded, "Ready for the new semester?" he asked.

@FalkiThomas
Sheila took the paper from Kieran and tucked it into her front pocket. Once she looked over the questions she steepled her fingers together and started to write down the answers once Kieran had dropped the pen down in front of her. Sheila looked up at him as he stood up and asked her about study hall.
"Yeah, I'll follow you there" She grabbed her bag from where it was resting next to her and stood up, brushing a stray lock of hair back from her eyes.

Isaac grabbed his stuff and headed for study hall, glancing back to see if Via was coming as well. He figured she would, but she may have to take a little extra time. He stumbled when he finally got in the room and dropped his books, ignoring them in favor of glaring at Lacey while she talked with one of the teachers. He couldn't believe this, he expected it from Via, but not from Lacey she seemed so innocent. He would have to re-evaluate now. "Isaac, what are you doing? Pick up your things and find a seat," Payton shook his head and moved past Isaac. He nodded and grabbed his books, shooting a quick glare at Payton before glaring again at Lacey.

He took a seat and waited for Lacey to come by, before pushing his chair out hard. "Oh, sorry." Isaac didn't sound sorry at all, pushing his chair back in and brushing his shoulder against Lacey's. "Maybe you should watch where you're going."

Payton

Payton about fell over Isaac as he entered the room right behind him. What was this kid doing standing in the middle of the doorway anyway? "Isaac, what are you doing? Pick up your things and find a seat," he demanded, before moving past the boy and heading for a group of other teachers. "How have your classes been doing today? This group likes to test the boundaries and slack off. Plus they can be very inappropriate."

"Excuse me?" Lacey stopped walking, turning around to face Isaac. For a moment, she just stared at him, gauging the expression on his face. Lacey couldn't help but get the sudden urge to punch him, to break his glasses to cause further injury, making him bleed, maybe even cause permanent damage to one of his eyes, or both. But that was an impulsive thought; she'd never act on it unless she was provoked enough to get to that point. Sometimes she got angry a little too quickly, but another part of her was also there to remind her of the repercussions if she were to act out, and she was always extremely thankful for the restraint she was able to show

"Maybe you should watch where you're going," she continued, taking a step towards Isaac to close the distance between the both of them. "You're the thief, right? I mean, did mommy and daddy not have enough money to support you? Is that why you're wearing outdated glasses? It makes sense now..." Lacey said with a smirk and just the slightest trace of pity. "Here, let me help you." Without waiting for a response, she pushed Isaac out of the way with her arm to clear her path.

VIA

Via just shook her head. She gave up trying to get answer. She saw Issac picking up his stuff and walking out of the room, she quickly picked up her stuff and went on to study hall. Just as she got there she saw Issac and Lacey getting into it. She smirked and raised her eyebrow just as Lacey pushed Issac. Via walked up to Issac putting her hands on her hips. "That one is a feisty one isn't she?" She asked him. Via leaned against a desk. Her eyes followed Lacey glaring as she walked away. Via didn't know really why she was glaring, other then she felt like it. That was her roommate, she hated roommates. As long as she stayed to herself and on her side of the room there won't be any problems. She stopped glaring. Via smiled and waved at Lacey.
