Name: Fleuri Jodeau

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance:

Personality:

The Jodeau family is known for its devotion to Reon, and originally, Fleuri was no exception. Tutored by priestesses and paladins, he was brought up to be honorable, selfless, and devoted. During his time as a tournament competitor, he cast many of these values off, becoming proud, materialistic and glory-seeking, desiring above all else to obtain the fame and wealth that his family no longer possessed. After being humbled by his near-death experience, he has returned to his old ways as a faithful worshiper of the sun goddess. He still craves the thrill of tournament combat, and would not be above participating to aid the church again, but for now, he has more important duties. Unlike some of his contemporaries, he supports the Iron Rose Knights' method of choosing the captain, for in his eyes, it is the will of Mayon.

Those who have met him can attest that Fleuri is a man of action. He is hot-blooded and quick to act or speak, but is not as foolish or impulsive as some believe- his experience fighting in tournaments taught him the importance of quick thinking and decisive action when windows of opportunity appear. When he speaks, he never makes claims he cannot back up with his actions and never makes promises that he does not believe he can keep.

Brief Backstory:

Fleuri Jodeau was born to a minor noble family in northern Thaln known for its with strong ties to the Church of Reon, and for having given up most of its wealth and land a century ago when it ended serfdom in its holdings to please the goddess. While his family had little in terms of wealth or holdings, the clergy provided that which his family could not. Consequently, Fleuri received an education from Reonite priestesses and was trained in knightly combat by Reonite paladins. When he was knighted, shortly after the end of Phoran Cal's rebellion, he set out into the world to serve as a knight-errant, spreading the word of Reon.

During his travels, he began entering the tournaments in the lands he passed through, where, with many of Thaln's knights dead or disgraced as a result of the war, there was a shortage of contenders. Utilizing the training he had received from the Reonite paladins, Fleuri proved himself a capable tournament fighter, and as time went on, he became increasingly successful on the tourney grounds. At the same time however, he began to drift from his original purpose and turned his mind to fame and wealth. He stopped aiding those he passed, and began planning his journeys solely for the purpose of competing in tournaments.

While traveling to one such competition, he fell deathly ill from a fever and sought aid from the Church. As he laid there, tended to by the priestesses, all he could think about was how he had fallen from his path, more concerned with gold and glory than helping others, and now faced the prospect of dying before he could make amends and correct his mistakes. When he recovered, he attributed it to the will of the goddesses and rededicated himself to fighting evil and aiding the innocent. Fleuri may not have died, but he was reborn.

During the next tournament, he fought harder than he ever had before, and when the dust settled, he was the last man standing in the infantry melee. Hailed as a champion, and standing on the precipice of fame and glory, he proved himself a changed man when he donated the prize to the church and soon afterward petitioned to join the Iron Rose Knights. Since ending his tournament career, Fleuri has served the order faithfully.

Equipment: Fleuri wears a suit of armor he acquired during his tournament career, and bears his family's colors and heraldry. He wields a Zweihänder and carries a dagger as a secondary weapon.

Skills: Fleuri has been trained in the use of a variety of knightly weapons, but he is most experienced and proficient in the wielding of greatswords. He employs an aggressive and surprisingly fast-paced fighting style not atypical for devotees of Reon, moving and attacking far more swiftly than his armor and heavy weapon would suggest. Off the battlefield, his adept footwork makes him a decent dancer.

  • Name: Lyrie Cossette
  • Age: 13
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: "I don't know if I'm good enough yet... but I'll try!"
  • Personality: An earnest, albeit somewhat shy girl, Lyrie is determined to do everything she can to help others. However, this is tempered by a serious lack of confidence. Lyrie doesn't believe that she is a sufficient healer, and that she needs to work hard to become one. As a result, she has a tendency to seriously push herself, practicing late into the night regardless of how much sleep she's gotten. After a night like that, it's likely to see Lyrie in something of a fog from the lack of sleep. She is somewhat nervous around others, and though she tries to be friendly she has a skittish personality that often leads to her retreat from social situations. Regardless of her lack of confidence in herself, Lyrie believes she has to try and help others, even if she feels like she can't manage it by herself. She doesn't think she's adequate, but thinks that she has to try something if she's around. While she's not confident in herself at all, she still firmly believes that if she works hard she will become a better healer. She just doesn't believe she's ready yet.
  • Brief Backstory: Lyrie is Fanilly's cousin on her father's side, daughter to her aunt. Boasting a quite decent magical potential, promising to be a proficient mage, her childhood desires lead to her entering training to become a healer. She has excelled in the academic area of her training, but has shown a severe lack of confidence in application. As a result, after an agreement with the Iron Roses under Captain Fanilly Danbalion, it was decided that she would become attached to the Order in order to practice her healing craft and gain more confidence in execution.
  • Equipment: Lyrie carries her magical catalyst in the form of a long wooden staff, hooked at the tip. She wears robes signalling her profession and also carries many minor ingredients, magical and mundane, for the purpose of healing.
  • Skills: Lyrie has a wide-ranging education in the matter of healing. This includes a variety of mundane methods of healing but is primarily of a magical bent. As of now, Lyrie is capable of mending numerous injuries via spells, from minor cuts and scraps to even limbs that have been nearly severed. Theoretically she is also able to reattach limbs, but she needs a great deal of assistance in order to do so, the limb must be fixed in place properly and it takes time for her to successfully carry out a proper healing of a severed limb. She also lacks confidence in doing so. Broken bones are easier for her to tend to, however.
