Name:Amelia Artemia Averyonna
Age:12
Grade:1st
Nationality:United States of New Columbia
Theme:Pink and White Magnolias: A flower that represents dignity and elegance, two things Amelia hope to be able to carry herself with. The pink magnolia represents her shyness due to her new environment that is completely different from anything she has been around. The white magnolia represents her innocence and general ignorance to the ways of the rich and royal.
Appearance:Amelia is small. Standing at a mere 4'4" and weighing just over 70lbs, she is very short for her age and is often mistaken for being younger then she really is. She possessed fair skin, short, straight blond hair that becomes darker at the tips, and bright, cerulean blue eyes. These features give her a look similar to a porcelain doll.
Outside of the school uniform, if she is allowed to wear casual cloths, Amelia wears a bit of a varied wardrobe. Growing up among the common folk, she does not possess any fancy dresses, nor is interested in them. She is fine wearing simple dresses, usually in the colors of blue, white, and green, but also red and purple on occasion and if they are available. She also likes to wear male cloths on occasion as well and if she hides her hair, she can pass off as a effeminate male. For accessories, Amelia is never seen without an umbrella or parasol, which she uses to protect her skin from the sun since it burns easily, and a ribbon is always wrapped around her right wrist to be used to tie up her hair for when she wants to sketch or paint. She is also often seen with a notepad to talk to other people should they not know sign language.
Bio: Amelia was born into a lower-class family in the United State of Columbia, the second child of Thomas and Erina and younger sister of Alexander. Even from her early years, she was a bit of a burden on the family as she was often sick and in need of medicine that the family could barely afford. As she grew older this would become less frequent but she was still prone to getting sick more quickly and severely then most of the other children. Another issue that came to light while she was young was that the girl was a born mute, unable to speak a word despite her best efforts.
As she grew up, Amelia came to accept these flaws as part of who she was thanks to her parents, who doted on her and tried their best to make sure both their children were happy despite their financial troubles. Amelia's brother Alexander on the other hand, jealous of the extra attention his sister tended to receive, picked on and bullied her, attacking her psychologically and emotionally. While most of his attacks were little more then minor pranks to embarrass or belittle her, his worse one was when she was only six years old and he locked her out of the house during a particularly bad thunderstorm, letting her in only so he wouldn't get caught by their parents. This event led to the girl's massive fear of thunder and lightning, though regular rain does not bother her.
As the years went by, her families financial situation got better due her father, a merchant by trade, getting better business and being able to open his own shop, to better provide for his family. Amelia's talent as a artist also began blooming during these years, as sketching and painting were her main hobbies and she regularly practiced them, sometimes with a little help from some of her neighbors. By the time she was ten, she was able to make realistic landscapes and portraits with either a simply pencil or a brush and some paint.
Realizing their daughter would not be able to break out of the commoner life if she continued to live her current life. Putting her through a bit of a grueling study session, they had her participate for the scholarship tests for Saint Hirst Academy. Amelia managed to earn one of the few scholarships to the Academy
Sample Post:It was with great reluctance that Amelia opened her eyes as a stray shaft of sunlight hit her in the face, waking her up from her slumber. Groaning to herself, she slowly got out of bed and walked to the bathroom to get ready for the day. She was not a morning person and she hated the sun and it's entire existence right now. After getting cleaned and dressed for the day, wearing her favorite white dress, she headed downstairs to her family. After exchanging the usual greetings with her parents and not doing anything with her brother who in turn ignored her.
After breakfast, Amelia headed out the doors and into the streets of her home town. It was a quiet little place but it was beginning to grow and flourish as more people began settling into the area. The area was closing giving into civilization and losing nature in the process, a thought that made her sad. The surrounding landscapes could be so breathe taking and inspirational. She loved sketching or painting them but it seemed that little by little, her favorite spots were growing smaller or fewer. Sure, there was plenty in the surrounding area, but she never went very far due to safety concerns.
Moving through the streets, waving at the various townspeople she passed looking into the windows of several shops that she passed. She took her time at the general store and examine the sweets, resisting the urge to use her allowance on them, even though she really, really wanted to. continuing her walk, she reached the edge of town and walked a bit further until she reached her destination. Her favorite field, where flowers were growing as far as the eye could see. Finding a spot that was shaded by a nearby tree, she made herself comfortable and pulled out her sketchpad and a pencil, placing the lead tip to paper and going to work. Time quickly became lost to her as she focused on her task, blocking out all other distractions, her entire focus on the scene before her and her tools.
When she finally finished the task several hours later, she made her way back home. Her mother and father seemed to be out and thankfully so was her brother. At least, she had thought he was gone. As she headed upstairs, he came out of his room and moved her to her, scowling as they drew closer.
"Where've you been short-stop? Been out an about getting spoiled by everyone?" He asked, his tone angry for no reason as usual. Amelia just shook her head and lifted up her sketch pad. She knew he would know what she meant, so there was no need for sign language. Alexander simply scoffed and rolled his eyes at this before continue to speak. "You got a letter from that rich person school. Maybe it's the results from those tests you took. I wonder if you failed. Imagine, mom and dad spending all that money only for you to screw it up and wasting it. Then again, I have to question what kind of school would want a little burden like you? Anyway, it's in your room. Go see if they actually want you."
Amelia's stomach sank as she felt fear and dread wash over her in equal measure. After her brother moved past her, making sure to collide with her a bit as he did, she went to her room, closing the door behind her. She scanned the room, quickly spotting the letter on her bed and moved towards it, putting her pad down before picking it up. The letter was addressed to her and was seal with wax that had the Saint Hirst coat of arms. Taking a deep breathe to try and calm herself, she carefully opened the letter and pulled out the folded paper within. Opening the paper, she read it's contents once... twice... three times to be sure she was reading it correctly. She had passed. She had actually managed to get one of the scholarships into Saint Hirst. After the initial shock passed, she felt an overwhelming wave of joy as she held the letter to her chest, unable to believe she, a nobody with little talent of note, had been accepted into a school as well known as this.
The rest of the day was a blur to her. When she showed her parents the letter, they were overjoyed while her brother seemed to be livid by her acceptance. There was a small celebration in their home, with some of her friends and friends of her parents coming over to congratulate her as well. The rest of the time between then and her departure was spent preparing for her upcoming school life, getting her the supplies she would need while keeping her studies up. When the time finally came for her to leave, she was the most nervous she had ever been. She was just a small country girl going to a completely foreign land and a completely alien environment. As she left behind everything she knew for a realm of uncertainty, she could only hope that she didn't embarrass herself and found some way to fit in. And that she didn't arrive late.
