In the mountains of Colarado..Oh and I graduated in 06 so the internet in general in that area sucked; it was all landline

Cato listened to the woman's response. He knew that she hadn't planned on helping, one doesn't skulk away when looking to help people. Then again it probably wasn't a good idea to mention that he thought.

I am troubled by this portion because I don't remember Pam moving away from the danger; moving in stealth is cautious and could be called skulking. Also knowing she wasn't planning on helping, Pam hasn't said anything to lead to that conclusion or done anything to display that intention

I was mainly thinking that because Cato's mentality is stupidly heroic at times. He's the sort that would think if you didn't charge straight in or start shooting that you were gonna run away and not help. He's a bit dim, he jumps to assumptions, so sneaky people that aren't shooting in his mind typically equals cowardice.

I can re-write it though if you'd prefer.

Pam's explanation is to play the girl card and the fact she's only carrying a bow and has to get a lot closer to hit her target. Watch her shoot sometime and you'll see she's mediocre at best with it and in a dangerous situation useless...she's a girl as in helpless damsel who knows she has to play the cards dealt her.

Her heart is hard because otherwise she couldn't live with the things she feels she needs to do to survive. I'd be as mercenary because the state we are in is primitive and the quickest to adapt get to survive and that's what I'm playing her as in the intro; I can't keep the sneaky bitch up long as it's counter to my true nature.

@Karos I interpreted it as Cato thought Pam wasn't going to help because of her fake hesitance, because of the way she was acting at that time, or because like Calvin said it wasn't odd to wonder what she was doing. Not a big deal, but I thought it'd be worth noting.

@RumikoOhara See that makes sense, but obviously there's no way for Cato to know what she can do until he sees it. All he sees is an armed person not helping in a fight, add that to some baseline idiocy and you can see where he's coming from.

@Zapdos

I'm definitely looking forward to how our characters interact. I imagine Pam's going to try and manipulate Cato to do things he doesn't want to do, whilst he really just wants to keep Calvin safe.

Yeah, that should be interesting. Calvin is a little oblivious (driving into an area where people are shooting a mutant and crashing into said mutant, for instance) but he isn't stupid enough not to see manipulation if/when it happens. He's also a kid, which means he can't really be manipulated by Pam's sexuality. It should be an interesting dynamic.

Calvin is looking for his "family Jeep," so he'll probably bring that up to Cato at some point, but he wouldn't (or could even, for that matter) force him to go along with that. It's not like Calvin's sense of direction is good enough to know where he's going anyway :-P

In any case, I'm waiting for @RumikoOhara to post and then I can write a response to that.

Just a heads up, I shan't be able to post for a little while as I've just moved house and won't have internet until Tuesday. @scifidude47 if you want to NPC Cato for the sake of story progression or anything else I'll leave it at your discretion.

@RumikoOhara I used your character very slightly just for the purposes of having the RP flow a little better and not having to make two posts that would essentially be Calvin not interacting with anyone. I didn't think it'd be a big deal, but let me know if it is.

@RumikoOhara@scifidude47@Karos and everyone else here I found myself re-reading this to see if I could reuse Calvin in a new RP I'm making a CS for, so I just wanted to say thanks for the fun RP! It's a shame it didn't last longer, but I had fun with it while it lasted.
