Federation extranet servers are back online after a prolonged shut down due to maintenance. Federation members attempting to log on to the server's were met with an error code which prompted confusion and a flood of support calls to the Federation I.T. department. The shut down, that was scheduled to last five to ten minutes, ended up lasting nearly five days due to a malfunction.

With the servers down, Federation members were unable to access contracts from the server, causing a record level of complaints to the Federation Administration. President Korvig released a statement regarding the shut down earlier today.

"I understand the frustration this error caused," stated President Korvig. "Our IT team has addressed the problem and patched the server, bringing it back online. While server functions may be slow for the next day or two, rest assured that they will remain online, and back to one hundred percent functionality as soon as possible."

At the time of this report the contract board and the cartographer is yet to come online. E.R.I.S. will be standing by to answer any queries Federation members may have.

Either way, are your moving rates different for mercenary companies or do you charge everyone the same fee when they want something moved?

My White Suns operate on a contract by contract basis. Usually about 25%, but I'd expect a bonus if it gets hairy. Otherwise your troops don't leave orbit. Small price to pay if you ask me, unless you want to go into battle half cocked.

My customers might not appreciate buying from the competition, but they'll tolerate it. I don't think I need to remind anyone here how effective my mechs were at curb stomping the Republic during the Colonial War. And over the years, my mechs have only gotten better at what they do. My customers would be fools to stop buying from be simply because I'm also the competition now. As for my age, I'm fairly certain it won't be a problem since I'm not doing any of the actual merc work. And if it really is a problem: Que sera sera. I'm not really taking this whole merc gig seriously anyway. Also I'll have to decline your offer. I prefer being my own boss.

Imperial Security Contract

Open Contract
Pays 1,000mc + 250mc

Objective
Provide support to IMPSEC forces in the Alpha Centauri System. IMPSEC shall deploy a decoy ship to lure pirate vessels to engage. Once engaged, IMPSEC will attack and attempt to destroy and capture pirate combatants and learn the whereabouts of their HQ.

Brief


IMPSEC, along with a diversion team, will wait in ambush on the far side of Aldren, near the location of the decoy. They will then engage the pirates and attempt to capture and gain intel. A secondary team will take up a position near Hadfield. Should enemy reinforcements arrive, the support team will move in to intercept.

One company will be chosen to support IMPSEC forces directly in the Diversion Team, while the remainder will fall in the Support Team. Operation is under the command of Director Baines.

Upon completion 1,000mc will be deposited in merc accounts.
A bonus of 250mc will be deposited in the event of that all pirates are captured or destroyed.

Good morning, Commanders.

I have been in contact with Commander Carver of Lantallian Mercenaries Guild and we have formulated a plan.



Here we have the schematics of the decoy ship. The plan is to funnel pirate forces into the main cargo bay where an ambush will be waiting for them. LMG forces, supported by mechs from Manny's Mechs, will engage the pirates and, hopefully, force a surrender. IMPSEC forces will then board the ship and place the enemy forces under arrest.

The HMS Inspector, supported by LMG warships, will maintain a perimeter and secure the sector against any intruding forces.

While this wraps up the Diversion Team's mission, we still need a Support Team on stand by. I'd feel a lot better about this op if we had reinforcements watching our back.

Of course, I'm patched in if you need me.
