The fall day was crisp and beautiful, and Susan looked out her office windows. The leaves were turning, the birds were singing... and she was stuck inside doing paperwork. HeartShine's new principal groaned. She took a look and realized that she was about an hour ahead of schedule. Fast typing helped a lot. She decided to head to the main entrance and greet the students as they came in.

Carmen had picked up a taxi from the airport and got out at the school. She took a look at the grounds, which were absolutely immaculate. This is the place for me. I think I'll like it here. She stopped at a bench and just drank it all in; she didn't have to unpack her stuff right away, after all. There was plenty of time.

Valerie checked her watch again as she walked along her usual route from her dorm room to the main entrance. She didn't think she was late, that had only happened a few times back when she'd first started attending and didn't quite know the school's layout, but she enjoyed the quiet ticking and minute movements of the watch's hands as they measured out the passing of time. A few more steps, another check. This time, she thumbed absentmindedly through her bag to reassure herself that her books hadn't somehow vanished.
"First days are always so boring. Same routine as every other day, just a lot more introductions and virtually no learning." she thought with a sigh.
Eyes split between her watch and the ground, she scarcely noticed as she neared the entrance.
"Then there's the reviews," she groaned mentally, "so much of the first third or so of the year is reviewing last year. What's the point of school if we only ever cover things we already know?"
Another look at her watch. She was early, no surprise considering her proximity to the main building and relatively early departure. This was completely fine; she just hoped that the library was open already. She had been using the comparatively modest library in town over the summer and had managed to forget exactly when the school's opened to the students.

Among the incoming students, Angel Heart Spirit stood near the front door, a soft smile on her face. She was one of the few in their transformation, with most of the faculty preferring to not overwhelm the newcomers. The teacher was looking forward to another year of teaching, but her eyes carried some hidden stress...

"Oh, it's nice to see you again!" The woman floated over to the black-haired third year. "How was your summer?"

The mint-haired majokko always loved seeing the students come back safe and sound.

Lucy had already said her goodbyes long ago. Years of being a foster child had taught her not to be attached to people and her current fosters were no dofferiwnt. Her suitcase contained the bare minimum: only clothes.
She walked through that main entrance with a look of scorn in her eyes. She hated most people she remembered from the year before and she would have no change of heart now. Her mental psyche of "I don't want to talk to you, leave me be" was shattered by the announcement that this year she would have a roommate. She had this in mind when she made her way to her dorm.

Valerie looked up as she was addressed to see the extravagant form of Angel Heart Spirit. It's not that she had a problem with the seemingly-permanently transformed teacher, but she had never quite puzzled out how to properly address her given the school's policy regarding so-called "Civilian Names" and "Magical Girl Names" with her own preference for addressing authority figures by their last names only adding to the confusion. With this uncertainty in the back of her mind, she fell back on her preferred tactic of saying the bare minimum to maintain the conversation, or, hopefully, escape it.
"Pleasant, ma'am," Valerie said with a quick bow, "Did you need me for something?"

Another year in Heartshine was surely going to be exciting. She had a gut feeling that it would be a lot more fun now more than ever. It was her last year and she wanted to leave a legacy - well, aside from being the only one who was ever in a male's uniform within Heartshine that is. Hm, maybe breaking the record of most demons taken down within the year would suffice. Yeah, she bet that will.

One of the fun things of being a returning student was the fact that you could get back to school from summer early. She had arrived there a week before the first day and already got her room assignment. Sadly, it would seem that she has a new roommate. Well, considering that her previous one graduated last year, she should have expected it. Well, she'd just have to get to know her better. She looked at the paper that was given to her to show the room assignments. Melissa Smith - certainly a name not from her year. She has heard of her though, and does know what she looks like. Her power was mainly music, and it was fun to watch her train.

She had that habit - stopping with her own training to watch her underclassmen. It was more admiring their powers than assessing them, but she recently added that to the agenda as well. She was often reprimanded whenever she stopped for a long time, where it didn't even seem like a break anymore. Sometimes, it even ended up with her stopping while in a spar and end up tanking a hit she should have been able to dodge with ease. This also ends up with a disapproving look from her teacher. "Stop getting distracted. You'll kill yourself." They would often tell her. She knew they were right but it's not like she did it while on a real battlefield. She at least had common sense.

Seeing as the new students were arriving one by one, she headed down and to the main entrance. This was going to be the last batch of students she would see before she graduated... unless she came back as a teacher. It seemed right to do so but she promised her father that she would at least try for the military. A magical girl would be able to help a lot of people evacuate in times of war and whatnot. She supposed she would have to enter JSDF first. That would sate her father's wants.

"Hiya Prof!" She greeted with a big smile on her face. "Oh, my bad, Headmistress now right?" Yuki had always regarded her as a teacher because that was what she was for the majority of Yuki's stay here. She then chucked. "Doesn't really roll of the tongue, better get used to it huh?"

Yuki then gazed towards the incoming students, eyes shimmering with excitement as she did. She could see Professor Angel Heart, a real mouthful really, talking to another student. Valerie was it? The gravity girl. "I feel like it's going to be an exciting year Headmistress. I just hope it won't be too hard on you; it being your first year and all." She grinned at her but still kept a lookout for her roommate.

Lucy Madrid it to her room without interruption, binded to the fact that she was universally ignored by most and only talked to if needed. She liked it this way and was even more pleased her roommate was gone for now. She set her one bag on her bed and laid next to it. She was not in the mood for anything. In all actiallity she was never. She didn't want to do this stupid "oh my god where have you been? " bullshit. She knew the name of her roommate but that didn't matter now, later, or ever. She was in her Zen now. She was told that was the best way to channel your powers, but she knew that was bullshit.
Now she didn't have powers.
For now
She sat in her little cocoon of blankets.
She wanted to skip orientation.

Those gathered outside school could hear a sound. It was a faint sound, but it was growing louder by the moment. Eventually they could work out what it was; music. Loud rock music. That meant only one thing...

The first truck pulled up in front of the school, then two more after it, before a limousine drove past them and pulled up in front of the school entrance. The music was blasting out, and as the doors of the limo opened out stepped a smallish girl with purple hair and her father after her. One of the trucks was starting to be unloaded with boxes - clothes, and yes that drum kit. Anyone who had been at the school for a year or more knew who it was.

Melissa had made her loud arrival.

Talking to her father for a few moments more before giving him a hug, Melissa went over to one of the trucks and took out her favourite guitar; a blue guitar. Her pendant necklace shone in the sun, glistening as the suns rays hit it.

With a smile, she strides over to the teachers and students gathered outside the school, and proudly proclaims "Hello, teachers and Students! Melissa has arrived! How are you all doing?"

Lucy heard the distant noise and hated it.
Hated it so very much that she at first covered her ears.
Thump
She couldn't take it.
She covered her ears more
Her eyes were bloodshot disks she was so furious that she was interrupted in her peace.
She climbs out of her bed and out the dorm's door and theen goes outside to "greet" this... This...
"Urged!" She grunts
She sees the nuisance and it pisses her off even more until she finally finds the words to respond
"SHUT THE HELL UP!"

"Yes, it is Headmistress these days, and no, I'm not used to it yet." Sarah took a second to match the name with the face- she'd never been the best at that. "Good to see you back, Yuki. I'm not going to lie, you're one of the girls I'm relying on. Teach the newbies what being a magical girl really means." She turned up her nose in distaste at the thunderous arrival of Melissa. "Well, at least you had the good sense not to show up with a fifty-piece band."

Yuki let her right hand hang on her necktie and the other in her slacks's pocket. "I think my father would disown me if I didn't come back." She jested before she started bouncing on her heels. A rather nervous chuckle escaped her lips as she said, "Yeah, no pressure right?" She was looking forward to leading her underclassmen - it was a usual for them, the fourth years. But she wasn't very sure that she'd do a particularly excellent job. A little anxiety that was normal for most people, really.

Rock music began to fill the air and the blonde female turned to look at the driveway. Three trucks came first and was followed by a limousine. Right. She had a pretty rich roommate didn't she? She rubbed the back of her head as she watched the girl exit along with an abundance of instruments being taken out of the trucks. She couldn't help but let out a small giggle. This girl wasn't shy in showing what she had, that was for sure. In fact, she remembered the last year was quite the same.

The sight of the drum kit made her heart fall just a little bit. That would be stored in the room with her. While she had not qualms with music, she was pretty sure that the drums would be really hard to put at the back of your mind when it does appear. Yuki would learn to live with it. She would have to really. She then looked at the headmistress who had wrinkled her nose in disapproval. She let out yet another laugh. "Oh come on, you gotta admit, she gives the school some energy. If it isn't for her, it won't be a fun first day."

Someone from the dorms yelled at her to shut up and Yuki turned her head to the source of the voice. She doesn't remember her. Perhaps it was because she obviously wanted to be left alone? The headmistress didn't seem to mind. Maybe she shared the same thought? Ha, that would be a little funny. She then sighed and then said, "And, I'm gonna help her unpack. Guess I'll see you later in the orientation Headmistress."

She bounded up to the violet haired girl, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Hey kid, I gotta admit - that's one way to make a great entrance. Need any help with carrying your stuff?" She then paused before letting go of her shoulder and then extended her hand. "I'm your new roommate. Yuki Asahiro, maybe you've heard of me? 'Cause I've most certainly heard of you Melissa."

Oh. . She just wanted to just explore that bitch andhev stupid entourage. Ooh one bar could just end that nonsense. She remembered her from last year a little but she didn't care.
The only thing preventing her way that her ass was on the hot seat after her not being able tocontrol her powers all that much.
And that's a big thing when your powers are as explosive as hers.

She wandered around for a bit. She hoped she wouldn't see her roommate or actually anyone right now..She saw everyone as an enemy.

Taking advantage of the distraction Yuki had created, Valerie mumbled her excuses to Angel Heart Spirit and made for the library. She had never been one for loud noises, but they certainly had their place. There would be orientation and such later, but, for now, she could at least manage some independent study. She fingered her books again.
"Quiet please, and no powers!" the sign declared. Sure, most of the school had rules against using your powers for one reason or another, but the librarian had experienced too many twisters, fires, and plain disruptions to her precious stock for there to be any question regarding whether this or that was okay. Sadly, it seemed that the library was closed until after orientation.
Resigning herself to a boring morning, Valerie slumped back towards the entrance, carefully staying out of sight of the rest of the growing crowd. She leaned up against a wall and retrieved one of the her school books from her bag. She'd already read the lot from cover to cover, but, well, sometimes you just had to make do. She adjusted her glasses as she settled in to waste time.

Melissa rolled her eyes when someone shouted in her direction. "Some people have nooo taste" she sighed. Her expression brightened quickly though, as someone approached and introduced herself as her roommate! "Yuki? Awesome to meet you roomie!
We're gonna have an epic year!"
She gave the girl a hug "you play any instruments? If not, pick one and I can teach you. My last roommate didn't like my music, can you believe it?"

She hooked her arm round her new friends arm, and walked towards the school.

"Seen our rooms yet? Hope there's space, I have a lot of stuff, and that's not including the instruments!" she laughed

Yuki grinned at the violet haired woman as she saw that she was pretty excited. She was about to reply when she was enveloped into a hug. Her entire body stiffened and she grit her teeth, willing every fiber in her body to not move in retaliation to such an unwelcome gesture. Thankfully, the girl had let go and Yuki let out her breath - one that she had been holding unconsciously.

"I can at least play the guitar a little bit." She said forcing a smile to appear on her face. Her heart was still beating fast and she could feel her blood thundering in her head. She took a few deep breaths to stay calm. "Heh, maybe she preferred something quieter. Don't worry I'm fi-" She cut herself off when the other woman hooked her arms with hers.

Since it was unexpected, more than the hug earlier, she couldn't contain a streak of electricity escaping her body, aiming to shock the girl off. It wouldn't hurt. It would probably just elicit a yelp and her jumping back but Yuki couldn't help but gasp in surprise with how little control she had right now.

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry." She said rather worryingly but she took a step back as if to keep some distance between them. She ran a hand through her hair, electricity now crackling around her but not hurting anyone. "I... I have a... uh, how would you call it - a condition? A phobia? Something like that and... Ah whatever, long story short, I hate being touched and sometimes, I shock people, literally. Just... sorry. The only thing that I ask of you is to not touch me as much as possible. I don't want to hurt you."

She shook her head and then grabbed hold of Melissa's luggage before gesturing her to follow. Taking a deep breath, she began to speak. "The room's pretty big. I guess that's because of you. You can have most of the space, I don't need much." She assured the girl. Apparently, she brushed off the earlier incident quickly. No good worrying about it now. At least she already told her. Finding a right time to tell it is so frustrating.

(Even though it really didn't Matter)
But her sunshine was blackened yet again when She saw as the two pricks walked to Thier room
Which was right next to hers
"And I thought this year couldn't get any worse" She said to herself

"Playing guitar a little? When I've finished with you, you'll be an ex-woah!" she hopped back at the shock, eyes widened. She listened to the explaination, and remained quiet foe a few moments before suddenly laughing. "Oh my god that's amazing! You're literally electric! Girl you are something."

She grabbed her bag quickly from Yuki, taking something out. A small and very old amplifier, which she held out. "think you can power that? It's battery powered now as the mains plug is fried, but it doesn't last long. We could be an amazing team! You are the power, I am the music" she spun her guitar around, hoping the girl would play along.

Seeing that the girl didn't really take it personally, Yuki was beyond relieved. In fact, Melissa wasn't even bothered by it. That was a really good thing for her. Last thing she wanted was her roommate not liking her because of it. Though, considering what might come next, she'd have to worry about their dorm mates hating Melissa because of her loudness.

Yuki was about to set down the bag and hop onto hers but the bag was quickly taken away. She produced a small and beaten up amplifier. It was battery power because plug was busted. Yuki took it and held it in her hands. "This thing would need a constant flow of electricity because I doubt it can store some." She mused, turning the object side to side to analyze it more. She had rarely done this because she didn't really think that it was a good idea to use her powers when not in combat. Plasma/Lightning/Electricity can be particularly destructive.

"S'ppose I could try." The blonde said with a nod. She wasn't sure about the perfect team but she'll just go with it. She lowered the volume a little bit before electricity jumped from her fingers to the amplifier. It buzzed to life, waiting for someone to plug and instrument inside. "Could probably only keep it up for one some before I need to stop." Restraining the amount of electricity but still making an effort to push them forward was a great training for concentration at least.
