Welcome to Galactic Conquest!



Ever wonder what would happen if Star Wars shared the same universe as Halo? Mass Effect? STar Trek? Well this the RP to explore such possible interactions

Considering this is an interest check I am open to suggestions though for the most part I'm taking what has worked for this RP on a different site and attempting to bring it on here so while things are capable of being changed, more or less this is it. To get a better idea how this is all going to workout, I'll introduce the various guidelines and rules so bear with me through this good amount of text.

GUIDELINES:

Setting: This is NOT a multiverse RP. Everything that is to take place, or has taken place has all happened in the same galaxy. Because of this galaxy's immense size, the factions in this RP will have limited interaction and limited knowledge of each other until now.

Plot: Your faction or if you choose to play a singular individual has just received information that the largely unexplored unknown region of space that has separated the factions has become important due to your choosing. Perhaps your faction is chasing a renegade band of rebels? Perhaps your faction seeks to recover ancient artifacts? While the RP won't solely take place in these territories, it will initially just for the sole purpose of having people encounter and interact with one another.

Magic Use: Magic is possible but its too be limited. If someone wants to play an alien species that can control fire, I'm all for it unless it gets to the point they start conjuring giant firestorms that swallow entire armies. The Force from Star Wars or Biotics from Mass Effect for example will fall under this category

Weapons/Metals/Etc: Each faction will have their own unique weapons and metals and so forth but there is no absolute, single best unstoppable weapon. Every faction will be able to affect each faction but lets also have some logic even if this RP is mostly sci-fi. A regular stick no matter what is not going to pierce a starship's hull that was designed to withstand plasma cannons

Teleportation: I'm all for portals/hyperspace/slipspace but again it needs to be handled properly. Because of the vastness of space, high speed travel is necessary for factions to be able to travel great distances but at the same time if people start pulling "All of a sudden Admiral X has 100 warships to appear behind Admiral Y Fleet with absolute no warning" we are going to have a problem.

Rules:

1. No random one shoting, killing people's character without permission. Simple enough

2. In regards to post length and how often, I'm going to be casual about this though I do want to see a reasonable effort that indicates interest

3. In regards to combat situation as they are bound to be plenty, I'm again leaving a lot of power in the hands of the players but lets be reasonable again even if this is sci-fi for example... a small snub fighter regardless of payload is not going to take on a 10 mile long warship by itself and win

4. Super Weapons are going to be a no for now. As it stands, I intend for massive capital ships to be the absolute peak in terms of military strength at the moment. While size isn't everything, size does indicate a certain amount of strength and while they may be the strongest in terms of possessing the most firepower, this means their slow speed, lack of ability to use stealth does give them vulnerabilities.

Eventually assuming things are going well, I like the idea of plots revolving around stopping a Death Star or assaulting High Charity or preventing Halo Arrays from being activated should a Halo faction exist... but for now, we will keep these stories on hold.

5. There are no invincible, resource unlimited factions. There are also no singular all powerful characters, everyone has limits

6. In regards to character creation you can create your own character, your own faction etc or you can take an existing one and put your spin to it HOWEVER be mindful of your history as they will deviate from films, movies, books etc depending on whose controlling the faction for example

Suppose player X wants to play Master Chief aka Spartan 117, his character's history will be dependent on player Y who has taken charge of the UNSC. If player Y decides that the events of Halo 4 or the Battle of Reach has not taken place player X must acknowledge this and adjust accordingly.

I'm also open for people to create their own ships, weapons, etc even if non existent in the previous lore but it has to make sense. The Galactic Empire developing a new super star destroyer? makes sense. The UNSC making a dance till your head explodes music gun? No.

7. This is not a competition, this for fun. While people may have their opinions on "who would actually win" this RP is not about that. I want to be flexible and relaxed so people can explore their imaginations and make stories of their own but please don't abuse this certain freedom.

If you read through this whole thing, congrats to you and hopefully I have your interest. When I was apart of this RP on another site, we had all sorts of different factions. We had people take control of the Flood from Halo and the Reapers from ME. We've had individual characters play the role of a Predator from AVP hunt down Halo inspired Spartans or someone playing a General Grevious who was in absolute control of his Separatist empire.

Personally I intend to use a Sith Lord that is apart of a Sith Empire based of the original Galactic Empire. Again if you are confused just remember that history can be rewritten and I'm not forcing anyone to base their histories based on previous "canon" lore.

This definitely sound interesting! Before I think of joining, I have a question.

Could I make an Character(prob original) and then a single ship(also prob a original) as a mercenary/auxiliary force for other factions? I was thinking a small ship that has some strong weaponry that is similar strength to much larger capital ships or maybe just one lone Capital ship.

How does one deal with the multiple Earth's if there are no alternate universes? Halo, Stargate, Macross and Mass Effect for example all have their own version of Earth.

@Assallya I didn't include this because I wanted to see how it would play out but in the event there are multiple factions requiring an Earth, I would just have the different factions refer to "Earth" in a different name. I know it seems lazy but for instance we had the user of the UNSC simply substitute Earth for Reach as their home world.

This is pretty interesting and I would like to join. Plus allowing us to create our own ships and weapons gives me an idea of using ships from a Stellaris mod I use for the Asari.

Sans the canon stuff .... this is not too dissimilar to what the original Concordia Confederacy was born from. Now they have been rewritten a couple times but I won't pass up the option to invoke my beloved.



Name: Aartlovah an Alduur (Empire of Alduur)
Government: Parliamentary Monarchy
The Imperial Parliament, representative of all populous worlds within the empire , are beholden to the citizen population through 4 year elected terms and limits to consecutive terms of no greater than 3. The Emperor/Empress follows more complicated succession and serves a term for life. A retiring monarch may appoint a successor, or allow heredity to appoint one for him/her. The Parliament must vote to approve the monarch-succeeding, followed by a popular vote of approval. The Emperor does hold near-absolute power that overrides the Parliament as necessary. Some Emperors additionally forfeit their power as commander-in-chief to a dedicated CIC appointee, subject to the same Parliamentary approval.
Current Emperor: Daarrian Leo Vontiim
Technological Standard: Magnetic systems & weapons, advanced computational systems, break-even fusion reactions for energy generation & controlled nucleosynthesis, discrete plasma weapon systems, advanced materials sciences, and partial-mitigation shield technology among many more specifics.
Species: The empire is comprised of only its namesake species, the Alduuri people. The original iteration of the Alduuri in my lore were best described as “less-blue Na’Vi.” They’ve evolved a bit more dissimilarity, but the general idea still holds true (I’m torn between convenience & originality). They are a somewhat large humanoid race with exceptional reflexive physiology - their nervous systems & muscle groups are capable of abnormally quick response - and notable aural & low-light optical senses.
Philosophy: Isolationist & elitist. Due to past breaches of trust resulting in severe loss of life, the empire maintains extremely strict border control. As far as they are aware, all those factions they once had contact with have faded into obscurity. Their plan should they encounter additional entities is to either keep their distance should they be large enough to present a threat or have nothing of interest, or remove them from the equation if they do control something of interest.
The Alduuri believe the entirety of the nebula in which they occupy - a space that would span beyond the entire spiral arm and contain potentially over a thousand habitable worlds - is theirs by divine right, despite only inhabiting & formally controlling just 38 habitable star systems. This obviously can create problems when others lay claim to something within this border.
History: In brevity, the Alduuri people have had three major periods of contact with non-Alduuri entities. Two of these ended in excessive bloodshed. The second is perhaps the most notable. The foe they faced is spoken only of in fearful whispers as if its return might be summoned. Records refer to them as “the harvesters”. Documentation about the actual events of the conflict remain tightly controlled. The empire as a whole continues to build military force well beyond what an entity its size should ever need preparing for this enemy that may not exist anymore.



Name: Muriel Dar’Tuura
Rank: Commander - AMS Destiny Ascendant
Gender: Female
Species: Alduuri
Appearance: Tough, chiseled, stoic. She’s a well-colored individual (medium darkish complexion) and stands at 7’8”, just a bit on the tall side for an Alduuri. Ignoring her perpetual ponytail, her square shoulders look rather masculine from behind. Her figure makes her just slightly imposing enough to easily command respect from those under her, but the veterans of the Destiny Ascendant will say that her focus and decisiveness in the heat of the moment more than earns it. On top of her traditional officers’ uniform, she wears a black armband on her right arm with the ship insignia on it. Military dress code dictates it is supposed to be gold with the Alduuri Navy emblem, but black & ship emblem is tradition among the black ops commanders. Loose faceclaim (since its both not quite right nor do I care for faceclaims normally): Iden Versio
[bParaphernalia:[/b] When ship-side she has a small charm bracelet she keeps either tucked away in her room or on her left wrist. She always deflects when asked about it. Her hardware of the combat variety is anything available aboard the Destiny Ascendant.
Bio: (in brevity) Muriel’s father was a fleet admiral, fifth fleet, assigned to the defense of the ‘west’ sector of Alduuri Empire border worlds. He retired not long before she was promoted to unit commander. Her mother is a sitting MP on her eighth term (nonconsecutive). Neither parent pulled any strings to earn Muriel the prestigious Destiny Ascendant tactical cruiser. The D.A. is one of the few Aeon class tac cruisers still in service. The ship has suffered more damage in one battle than most active warships have suffered in their lifetime; ripped apart by cannonfire and put back together by dedicated engineers every time. It also was once the personal flagship of a previous Empress.
Ship: The Destiny Ascendant is an Aeon class tactical cruiser: a ship too versatile to be replaced. Many classes have tried in the two centuries it has served and more still are being developed. Tactical Operations commanders continue to pick the Aeon class for its unparalleled versatility & best in class firepower. For being so small for a cruiser class vessel at just 860 meters end to end, its light railguns deliver devastatingly precise firepower. Its well-mixed armament give it the flexibility to engage any foe.
The D.A. maintains an SAG (Strikecraft Assault Group) of 24 pilots and a variety of interceptors, multirole fighters, and light bombers. It maintains an ISG (Infantry Strike Group) of 24 marines - two full squads - trained in ground combat, ship boarding, and zero-g action. With modification, crew accommodations for double this number can be made, however this reduces the effective deployment time and requires certain other equipment and provisions to be sacrificed.

I owe a post to somebody who has been waiting four days (two of those I was without power because tropical storm, fuck Irma) but after I write for him I'll move my sheet over. :) Looking forward to Muriel finally getting involved in something (her previous 1x1 fell through).

species: Sep'tal.Humanoid creatures they run fast but a shot in the naval part will kill them instantly.(Main reason of vests) and the rest of the population are humans.
Philosipical Matters: They tend to keep away from other beings they encounter but are willing will make expectations when the beings they require are essential for a mission.The Sep'tal are not good frontal seige warriors they are mainly assasins and they often stay in the back lines they also believe that it is bad luck to fight in the front lines.
History: When the 67% population of the Sep'tal and humans fought the after effects almost caused a distortion in the universe so a few survivors founded K.A.T.A to make sure that the events that happened will only be a memory.

That is just ridiculous. If everything that happened in the respective universes happened in this RP then the Halo-Human homeworld wad glassed thus pretty much ending the war before the first Halo game happened thus Halo 2 coudln't happen and the beginning of Halo 3 couldn't happen
