Name: Killian Angus Greer
Age/Birthday: His birthday is on the 15th of November, 1998, making him 18-going-on-19 years old.
Clique: "That weirdo". More specifically, "that weirdo in the art department". (Population, yours truly.)
List of Family:
He has an older sister named Nancy, 25 years old, who is a med student and lives away from home. He is quite close with her in a bickering brother-and-sister kind of way. They bully each other a lot but they’ve always had each other’s backs, and always will.
His parents, Katriona and Phillip, divorced when he was 3 years old and he lives with his mother, who he takes care of and loves immensely in a strictly not-a-mama’s-boy kind of way.
He does spend time with his dad as well, who got remarried to a woman named Heather, although his relationship with his father is a bit more distant compared to his connection with his mother. Killian thinks this is because they don’t have much in common, seeing as he is an artistic and sensitive kind of guy, and his father is more old-fashioned and ‘hyper-masculine’, but they both try to enjoy each other’s company and it’s never unpleasant.
Killian also has a half-sister from his father’s new marriage who is 8 years old. Her name is Felicity and they’re practically best of friends, often playing video games, or drawing whatever crazy mythical whim she has. She especially loves selkies and mermaids.
Brief Background and Personality (I smushed the two because a lot of it is the same):
Killian is very protective over his family. His situation is not always ideal, being a child of divorce and all, but he could never imagine having a rotten relationship with any member. He even gets along with Heather, his step-mother.
Generally speaking, Killian doesn’t talk very much. He definitely has a lot to say about a lot of things, but it’s hard to talk when no one is willing to listen to you. So sometimes he catches himself talking on his own, in the shower, doing dishes, walking to school, or during other mindless activities he does in solitude.
Sometimes he confides in Felicity, which some people find strange because she’s eight. That’s just another thing that makes him a bit odd. His best friend is an eight year old girl who makes him draw seals for her, and he’s perfectly okay with it. She’s really smart for an eight-year-old, though. Hell, she’s actually pretty smart in general.
He doesn’t have any other friends really, but if he did he’d probably treasure them dearly, if only for what a rarity they would be.
In the case of where he stands on the high school hierarchy, he’s occupied the same spot for his entire social existence. He could easily change that, but he’s in denial, and he’s not even sure he wants to change. He feels like two sides of him are always at odds: the part that would go along with any amount of bullshit to be considered worthy of fitting in, and the part that wants to tell everyone they’re being stupid, and blurt out everything he thinks of them without having to filter it. He wants to fit in but also stand out, but since those two do not correlate, he is stuck in the middle. One third of time he lets out sarcastic quips that make people give him ‘the look’ (you know the look… the ‘why-are-you-even-here’ look, the ‘who-asked-you-loser’ look), another third is spent with him inwardly cussing out everyone who treats him badly and convincing himself that he doesn’t care, he’s above it all, and the final third is spent with him running stupid errands for those same people because he doesn’t know how to say no and ‘disappoint’ anyone.
Basically he’s a hot mess.
Recently he’s become a lot angrier too, lashing out at random things, being enraged by situations that might seem unimportant, or that could be easily forgiven. Once the fire is lit, he’ll pace for hours, ranting, kicking things, stewing in his own rage. He doesn’t know how to escape his own head and all he wants is to be at peace with who he is and what he likes, and finally stop caring so much about what people think of him. Felicity told him that he’s “triggered” and needs to go to “anger management”. God knows how she even knows what that is.
Reason for being in detention: If it’s okay, I’ll keep it for the story. I don’t think it’s a huge plot point, but it could make an interesting anecdote.
Requests for Relationships: No particular request… I’m open to seeing what happens and how all the characters are represented and developed before requesting or being assigned to anyone.
Appearance:
He is 6'4" in height, with a boyish face and a lanky build. He's not exactly skinny, he just has long limbs and slouches a lot. He's not quite muscular either, but he does possess some upper body strength from carrying around too many things to and fro school and art class. He wears dark-rimmed glasses sometimes, because he's always late to wake up, so he doesn't have time to put contacts in, and he has kind of a resting jerk face. It's possibly a defense mechanism.
