So, calling out to my fellow nineties children. I don't know how many of you remember this show:
But in the early 2000s it was a fantastic show. The premise is fairly simple: Jeremie Belpois, a 13-year-old boy attending boarding school at Kadic Academy, discovers a quantum supercomputer in an abandoned factory near his school. Upon activating it, he discovers a virtual world called Lyoko with a young girl, Aelita, trapped inside it. A series of bizarre events begin to occur at Kadic Academy. Jeremie learns of XANA, a malevolent artificial intelligence/multi-agent system who also dwells within the supercomputer. XANA's goal is to conquer the real world and all human beings.
So, FAQs
Why was the computer abandoned? No idea.
How does the city not notice the massive power drain that it would take to run a computer and Tron-like materialisation processor in what appears to be prime abandoned real estate? Got me.
Are these logical questions asking too much of a French show from the early days of super technology? Absolutely!
So, to the point of this ramble thus far: I'm interested in a four or five person Code Lyoko-insired role play. Plots will be made, characters will be tweaked, and high school will never be the same!
Or it will simply be the same, but with super computers. I can only promise to much.
So, as for the rules, I am not very strict.
- I do ask that you can write at least two paragraphs with decent grammar.
- Spelling is whatever-- as long as we can understand it, it's cool.
- Be nice to each other. This is a real world free zone-- all are welcome no matter their creed, religion, orientation or Hogwarts House.
- Please feel free to share your ideas! Plots are only as good as the people contributing.
Whew, that's done. Now the fun part. Roles!
-Mastermind. The person behind the computer, pushing the buttons and running the system. This person- if interested- will be a Co-GM.
- 3 or 4 Fellow Students/ Lyoko Warriors. Weapons and designs will be a personalized choice, though I do ask for variety. Not everyone can have a sword.
- (If interest is found) Someone to play the main antagonist. This person may also be a Co-GM if interested.
- I will be taking both the role of the person within the system and of Lyoko itself. If there is no one interested in playing the antagonist, I will also take that on.
NPCs will abound, and will appear in the general character sheet. They will be available for anyone's use, but I'll play puppet master as needed. Once there is enough interest (if that ever happens) there will be discussion on whether or not to impliment a dice system. This is not required!
So if you are interested, let me have the following:
