Okay so I am looking for some interest in a DBZ roleplay. Before anyone asks this universe does not possess and cannon characters, no Roshi, no goku or Vegeta and so on. I want this to ideally be a fresh clean slate so we would be the ones who will become the future heros and villains for this roleplay. I am going to allow any race you wish to be, even a made up one if you truly want to put in the effort for it. The first Arc is going to be Blitz as the main villian and then as we progress we can come up with more arcs and villians to face as we go, ideally created by members of the roleplay. If your interest please respond below. There are lots of kinks to work out as of right now, especially with a power system and such. I just want to gage some interest before I go ahead and start working on the finer details of the mechanics of the roleplay.

Trust me it wasn't an easy decision for me but to have such powerful characters existing would drive the roleplay out of proportion. Altho I had time to think on it the past night and morning since I made this interest check and I was considering adding Roshi and ideally King Kai perhaps and the same supreme kai except in any case the supreme Kai would not even be a big player in the start of the story. However if someone wanted to create a character like Roshi I would not be apposed to it. I will probably do some more thinking on it and anyone interested can feel free to shoot idea's my way as well, there are no bad ideas.

Dragonball has caught my interest as of late. I'd like to play as a sword fighter or something since it interested me that there's only really one person who even uses a weapon in DB. What 'power level' would the starting characters be around? End of Dragonball/Beginning of Z yeah?

Lore wise it is heavily inspired by Toriyama however there are some distinct changes. The first and foremost change is the Saiyan planet, Frieza never existed with this storyline so he never destroyed the Saiyan homeworld. However the Saiyans did still lose their planet, although no one exactly knows what destroyed their home world. Blitz is one of the only ones who knows at this point, which is another reason I wanted to make him the first villain so I had the ability to go into further detail down the line. It is also important to note that unlike in the original story, alot of the Saiyans were able to escape before their planet was destroyed. While the Saiyans are still a proud warrior race they are not as destructive as in the original story so many of them chose to find new places to live and start over i.e. one of these places being earth. Without Frieza's Galactic Planet Trade the Saiyans were more or less a hell of a lot more peaceful towards other species. With this set, the ability to have a full blooded Saiyan character is more then possible if you chose to.

Capsule Corp is still the leading company in technological advancement however Bulma does not exist nor do her parents so the corporation will of course have its differences. One of these differences specifically being, the dragon radar which is not a thing, at least not yet anyways as Bulma was the original proprietor of this device. In reality the very fact that the dragon balls are an actual thing at this point is pretty unknown to everyone. There is a strong possibility later on where the Guardian of Earth will become involved for that specific reason.

As for races they are all the same as the original story, there is not much change to them aside from the fact that someone might decide to make new races for their character.

I have not decided as of yet what standing and top power levels will be for starting out. My Original concept for for Blitz was to give him a standing power of about fifty thousand and his top level being two hundred thousand in which case I would have to equal it out by making starting power levels a bit higher then one might usually make them. But as I said its undecided right now at the current moment, I may just lower Blitz power entirely so we can start at more realistic levels. So if I had to give an answer right now I would say around the start of DBZ.

I know there's a power level tracker/timeline for Goku throughout DBZ that you can reference and decide where to start based off of that.

Are humans pathetically weak in this game or will they stand just as good as a chance as any other race?

@Sebastian Yaknow, since this is starting off where Z was, similar situation and all, I think it'd be pretty interesting if one of the characters went on a journey before and met all the others, like Goku and the Z Fighters. It'd also give a reason for all the strongest fighters to know each other too.

Also seconding what Holy said, I want to play a human and want to know if I'll have to play more technically and smart since he's gonna be kind of a show-off.

I know what your all saying definitely, human fighters have always been the weak race when it came to DBZ. Holy really hit the nail on the head when he said DBZ was heavily revolved around Goku and his greatness, that is one good reason why he does not exist in this roleplay along with the others. My hopes for this roleplay is to expand beyond the show, to bring newer aspects into light. With this said I will answer the question that seems to be on your minds.

I had already intended to change the human curse in this roleplay, in DBZ there were a lot of great men, powerful humans who surpassed and prevailed beyond the human limits. Roshi, Gohan, Ox King, Chi Chi, just to name a few. Humans can surpass their limits and in this roleplay I see no reason why we can not expand even further on this. These great human characters always seemed to get overshadowed a lot and their unique talents overlooked. I think its crazy that only alien species can raise their power levels to extreme highs and have transformations that drive their power levels ever higher. I think that humans could and should have their own form of transformations very much like the Saiyans do and Frieza, even Zarbon. How we go about this is totally up in the air, and if you all have some idea's I would love to discuss them with you.

Now Kafka, you mentioned one of the characters going on a journey and all these characters meant through this adventure and came to know each other. I think that is a great idea honestly, we could really expand on that, perhaps we could even start the roleplay off with sort of flash back collage of how all the warriors meant and what not. This would require a great deal of us getting together and discussing a story line for our characters but if your all down with that we can definitely come up with something. Hell we could even make the entire first Arc all about this adventure and push Blitz to the second Arc.

Sebastian mentioned the Dragonballs will be unknown at the moment, but would be cool to see humans git gud when they find all the balls later on. Or maybe the wish was already granted a long time ago which could tie into why they haven't been found or are unknown at the moment. We can also have the Earth Guardian pull a Guru by drawing out the character's dormant power, or go the weird route like when Goku drank the Ultra Divine Water. Toriyama made things so random that I feel anything can work.
