I watched the show when it first aired and was pretty into it, and then caught it again on reruns on the Disney Channel, in order, and in full - that got me way more into it, especially with the Internet helping. It's been on my radar since then, as an example of excellent storytelling in a show, and one that didn't dumb down it's content because it was animation.
I re-watched it a couple of years ago with my now-fiance and it still stood up excellently.
I am kind of familiar with the extended canon ideas - things like the unmade spinoffs, and the ideas Greg Weisman had for where the show might have gone if it had continued - and I read a few of the comics too (before they were also cancelled >.<), and I've even read a little fanfic here and there.
