Indeed you can, it's more about flowing magic into a wound to stitch it together and mend bonds. With that in mind you can easily sever those stitches and force the magic to expand outward, essentially blowing the wound back open before the body heals itself without the magic. As for counter spells, I tried to avoid making a magic tree specifically to encourage canceling someone else's magic entirely as it would be kind of hard to do in a rp without it devolving into a playground "NO YOU DIED I MAGIC'D YOU" "NO YOU DIED BECAUSE I BLOCKED YOUR SPELL WITH MY SUPER MAGIC CANCEL" "NU-UH" -shoveyslapfightensuesandIhavetosendrunetofixit- kind of thing. So alternatively and to make fights last a bit longer I gave the option of warding spells that function similarly to how they do in elder scrolls, a barrier comes up and if the factors line up the spell cannot pierce the ward. Technically speaking, wards are protection magic and protection falls under the broad umbrella of Restoration in many games I play so even if you didn't want to call it restoration the restoration teacher still teaches it sooooo

Sorry if that took awhile to get back to you on I was distracted by cute anime girls.

Cute anime girls that are actually boys distract me more than anything so it's OK.

And I think you misinterpreted my meaning when I mentioned wards, as I also tend to think of them in an ESU perspective. What I meant was; A ward protects universally from magic/physical damage, so would a perverse ward be able to (rather than diminish) amplify the attack and it's damage against the person the ward is defending?

The term you are looking for is 'traps' and I agree they are the most distracting

And basically debuffs then? So the opposite of Isil's 'Enchancement' magic, I would say in a broad sense. Whereas she alters the flow of mana to enhance an existing property of a physical something, it should theoretically be possible to alter it to make something worse I would say.

Of course spirit must confirm, but that's what I think you're asking here.

Uh well a "debuff" would depend on the method you're going about it, cause if you're inflicting a long standing spell that has conditions to be met to cause some kind of reaction I believe that would be a curse. But if it's just like a negatively applied spell like this pencil that makes you throw up every time you touch it that I would still call an enchantment, just not a good one. But a spell that makes your own spells stronger would be a buff, and that honestly also depends on how you would go about it since there are enchantments that do that, artifacts that do that, a bard you could make friends with could do that. You know. Stuff.

I was thinking more along the lines of immediate effect. Say that three people are in the middle of a fight, A king, a traitor, and a warlord. The king thinks the traitor is on his side, and allows the traitor to place a perverse ward on him. When the warlord attacks, would the King take more damage from whatever type of attack it is, assuming that perverse wards are a thing?

Ok so I need to get on the same page here with you, cause I'm getting confused.

I'm 90% sure that when you cast a ward it's a kind of barrier or veil.
From my understanding putting a property on someone or something for a long or short amount of time is an enchantment.

Which one are you trying to do? Give a property to the king that will make them susceptible or use a spell to simply make them weaker?

That is what I envision as well.

Theoretically, a perverse ward would work as a stealthy way to kill someone, it appears to be a ward, but does the opposite of a ward.

That uh. That didn't tell me what you're trying to do to help me classify it lol

Classifying it would be up to you, it'd be a spell when cast, or an enchantment when an item is enchanted with it. However for both scenarios, unless closely examined by someone with expertise in perverse wards, it'd just look like a ward that was too weak to defend against an attack. So it'd be a stealth debuff/enchantment IG

So it's more like appearing to give someone a shield when you're really strapping a land mine to them?
