The problem with being blind was a lot of things could be happening around you and you would have no idea what exactly was happening. She was worried that no 9ne greeted her. Had she gone invisible? She didn't think so. The benefactor told her her power was different but he had hadn't said how. She was uncertain what was allowed and what wasn't. No one had gone over the rules with her. She choose to be cautious until she knew more.

The housekeeper had breakfast nearly ready. "Alright. Everyone sit down. We have a lot to do." She told those near the table. She made her way to the kitchen. She rang the bell to call all those who weren't downstairs to the table. She tried to get the kids together whenever she could. She wanted them to be a family. They would need that connection when they were out in the world.

Myra was a little frightened as the girl went closer to sniff her before commenting about her different smell. Was that her mist she was smelling? Was she somehow passively generating it? No, from what Myra could see and smell herself, her ability was still well under control. Bringing her attention back to the child's ears and tail once again, it then started to make sense. The girl probably had the animal-like ability to recognize people by their unique scents.

Myra nodded at her question. "I just arrived late last night."

The friendly child then introduced herself as 'Jazzy', and invited her to breakfast. Breakfast... that's right, Myra had totally forgotten about looking for it, as she had been too occupied with exploring the orphanage. Breakfast it was then. She could always resume her little adventure later.

"That sounds good. I'm Ma- Myra," she replied to the invitation and introduced herself, almost forgetting that she had best not use the name she had before.

Rei was making her way along the corridor in no particular hurry, never being one in particular to concern herself with social convention. Also she was approximately half awake. Combination of a poor night's sleep and being disturbed by the little devilspawn following her about-

THUD.

Something, or rather someone, crahsed into her at some speed. Rei let out a cry of alarm that sounded, for a moment, oddly inhuman in its frequency, pupils contracting into tiny vertical lines as she sprang back, narrowly avoiding treading on Hel. Seeing the figure on the floor she loomed over him for a moment, her mouth opening to speak and displaying pointed canine teeth...had they been there earlier?

"You wanna watch it? Don't know what the hell is such a big deal you've gotta be Speedy freakin' Gonzales round the corridors but it can't be that goddamn bad because nobody's screami- ...why are you...are you sweating jello?"
Rei tilted her head as she abruptly shifted gear from anger to puzzlement. The guy appeared to be dripping slime. In a vague sense she guessed that such a thing might gross out the average person.

Of course when you'd once manually reformed your own arm from the bone outward you sort of gained a lot of perspective on what constituted gross. If anything she was a little bemused by it, and bemused a lot moreso by the dramatic apology of the individual. It was sufficient that she didn't really feel she could carry on chewing him out.

"Turn it down a few notches dude. It's really too early for you to be so twitchy. I'm not going to do anything. Just don't do it again."

Hel peered round Rei, watching the young man appraisingly with large, red eyes.
"He just got here." she stated, adopting her usual, slightly ominous monotone.
"He doesn't like the fire."

"Huh, is that a fact?" Rei asked, rubbing the back of her neck with one hand. @XrazieVice

The bell rang, and it rang loudly. Groaning, Urs tumbled around in her "bed/hammock". Vines adorned the inside of her room. They covered three of the four walls, converging in two spots on adjacent walls. Then they spanned the gap, thick viney ropes intertwining to create a hammock. On the top laid another layer of vines, closed over the hammock to create something of a cocoon. Rocking, the hammock began to sway as a light-skinned hand appeared from the layers. Then, a body followed, long and lithe with slight, but noticeable, curves.

Dressed in grey shorts and a white t-shirt, Urs rubbed her eyes, feeling the long, soft grass underneath her touch. Golden eyes peered out into the hazy green light of her room, the sun filtering through thin leaves in the window. Short, white hair sat upon her head, ruffled and sticking up. Tired, the bell rang again, jolting Urs from her stupor. Standing up, Urs made her way to what looked like a small mass of tree trunks. Placing her hand upon the wood, the trunks shifted, creating shelves. Shirts on the top, then pants, then sweaters/jackets. In the bottom were a pair of bins, both made up of what looked like roots. Socks in the left one, underwear in the right.

Changing, Urs clad herself in a pair of grey boxers with black socks. Pulling on a slightly baggy pair of jeans, Urs selected one of the white t-shirts, covered in grass stains. Then, from her jackets came a green army jacket that she slipped on. Stumbling, half-asleep, towards her door, Urs tripped over her boots. Falling, a set of Urs' vines shot from the wall, catching her. Sliding from her vines, the girl slipped on her boots, tying them in the process. Then, a little bit more awake, Urs fixed her hair, placing a blue ornament just above her right ear.

Getting ready to leave her room, Urs held out her hand and touched the wall. Vines encircled her arm, making their way up her sleeve. Wrapping themselves around her stomach and limbs, Urs walked out of her room. The light was bright compared to the greeny tint she preferred. Walking down the hallway, a slight hunch in her back, the girl made her way to the cafeteria. Damn, she was hungry.

When Jasper hear the bell rigging he finished his cigarette with two more breathes and threw with to the ground killing the fire with his shoe and walked back to the kitchen.

When he got to the kitchen he could see some of the children already sat and the housekeeper waiting for the rest to arrive."You guys should found a less noisy way to tell people that food is ready... this one is a bit annoying" said Jasper towards the housekeeper as he went to sit in a chair the farthest from the kids.

Jazzy heard the bell and her ear twitched. "Its ready. Come on!" She said grabbing her hand playfully as she headed toward the kitchen. "We dont want to be late." Jazzy said with a laugh. "You will like Mrs.Claus she is amazing."


Alex heard the bell and decided to turn back. Everyone in the house could hear the bell. He looked over at Leo. "Lets just get some grub. I need to have time to smoke my cig after." He said as hw walked in and sat down in the kitchen.

Urs stumbled into the dining hall, a drip of drool in the left corner of her mouth. Her golden eyes skimmed over the inhabitants of the room. Children, loud and brash, were clumped together in the middle of the room. The house lady, Urs could never remember her name though, stood by the door, waiting for the others. Then she caught sight of Jasper, several tattoos spanning his neck and arms. Her mood lifting slightly, Urs made her way between the tables to sit by the guy.

Well, she more or less fell into the seat, vines shooting out from her sleeves and under her shirt to anchor themselves to the floor. Supporting her form, the vines kept her from smashing her face into the table. Regaining her balance, Urs sat down next to Jasper, and consequently fell onto his shoulder.

"Hey Jasper, how are ya?"

She mumbled, half-asleep. Another drop of drool appeared in the corner of her mouth as she could smell the cooking breakfast.

Violetta sets the plate of pancakes out on the table, along with butter and syrup. Looking at the amount of people coming into the dining room, she's rather worried if she made enough, but Mrs. Claus is a better cook than her, anyway. She sits down in her chair, folding her hands gently in her lap. Counting the number of people, she recognizes most. Where is that new boy? Are Rei and Hel coming? They must have heard the bell...

The sight of so many people makes her feel full, in a way she never felt with the crowds of gypsies from her past. A family. That's what they are, right? Bound by the same thread of fate, all following different paths but led to the same end, this orphanage. What a wonderful thought. She only hopes the others feel the same.

"Alex, you really shouldn't smoke at all, you know it's bad for you," she says softly. She worries about everyone in the orphanage, of course, but Alex is always causing some sort of trouble... They all cause trouble, though, so what's the difference? Jasper, the loner. Jazzy, who always wants new playmates. Hel and Rei... enigmas. They've all had such horrible pasts, but now they are free to be different. She shouldn't be the one to discourage this freedom.

"Good morning, everyone," she greets. Good morning, family.

Her yelling at him made him a bit more nervous until she asked why jello was coming off of him. Axle was glad that she had accepted his sincere apology at least which put him at ease. But the jello thing was going to need an explanation since it's pretty weird to look at. Even so he must stand and introduce himself for it would be improper of him not to.

He stood up from the ground and tried to calm down so that the slime that was coming off him will go back into his body. "Y...yes I w-will definitely b-be careful next t-time." He said still nervous from the blunder he had caused. "Oh y-yeah I'm m-made of s-slime so f-fire or h-heat are not m-my thing l-like your f-friend says." He just noticed her when she spoke and was a bit intimidated by her red eyes that stared at him.

"I-I heard t-that breakfast w-was ready s-so how a-about we g-go eat." Honestly he didn't really like the little girl's stare and the redness about her gives him thoughts about fire. She seemed nice but if she wields fire like Alex then he doesn't really want to provoke her in any way since he doesn't know anything about anybody. @VitoftheVoid

Alex looked over at Violletta as he began to make his plate to eat. "Yeah...yeab...yeah but telling a pyro manipulator not to smoke would be like asking a fish to breath air out of water." He said with a laugh as he sat back in his chair eating a piece of bacon looking at Violetta. She was so carying of the children here. You would think be would be too since he had been there for so long, but a lot of kids come and go.

"I could be better if there wasn't this much noise around right in the morning", Jasper said as Urs sat by his side, "Oh, and by the way, my shoulder isn't a headrest" he continued while phasing and allowing Urs's head to pass through him, giving a small smirk as the half-asleep girl's head fell.

He calmly ate his food and waited for Urs to finish, "I'm going outside before classes, are you coming?" he said to her at the same time he got up and started heading outside.

"I understand the feeling." Violetta clears the plates of those that have already finished, setting them by the sink for washing. Her fingers shake, letting one of the glasses slip through her fingers. She hisses, diving to catch it, but it's too late. The glass shatters on the floor, and Violetta blushes.

Her hands are acting up again, it seems.

"I'm sorry... watch out for the glass, Mrs. Claus, I'm going to get a broom."

Urs' eyes snapped open as her head fell through Jasper. Not seeing it coming, her vines had no time to react, and she consequently fell to the floor. Grumbling, Urs rubbed the back of her head as she stood up, flicking the boy on the back of the head.

"Hey Jasper, it's too early for that," said Urs as she sat back down, this time facing everyone else, her shoulders on the table behind. After filching some food from Jasper's plate she finished her own. Hearing what he said, she replied,

"Jas, you know that I love being outside, it's stuffy in here."

Getting up, the girl threw her trash away and gave her tray back to the kitchen. Walking over to Jasper, Urs was fully awake. With her hands clasped behind her back, a small tendril of a vine could be seen snaking over her shoulder and up the side of her neck. Following the boy, the normally silent duo made their way outside.

Leo followed Alex into the kitchen and took a seat next to the new kid. He started making his plate filling it with all the food that he could, food disappears really quickly at this house. He set his plate back down on the table and started eating than he turns to the new kid that was sitting next to him.

"you've met Alex, well my name is Leo what's your" Leo said in the softest voice he could do hope that he doesn't freak out. He wanted to make good first impression, unlike Alex.

@XrazieVice"Huh. Slime. That's a new one. Guess I can't talk though. Well, welcome to paradise or whatever." Rei responded with a shrug of her narrow shoulders, before the topic of eating breakfast came up.

"Yeah, it's in there." Rei muttered with a vague wave of her hand before making her way in that direction. Hel lingered behind briefly, eyes still lingering on Axle.
"I don't make fire." she remarked casually.
"I do other scary stuff, but I don't make fire."
With that the younger turned on her heel and walked in to join the others.

By that point Rei had already walked in wordlessly, found a seat, folded her arms on the table and dropped her head onto them. She couldn't really care less about actually eating. Years of existing on a diet of sparse amount of junkfood occasionally supplemented with things rather more...unpleasant as a means to bolster her ability, hunger was a weird thing to puzzle out.

"New dude makes slime and hates fire. So y'know. Do with that what you will." she muttered, uncertain if anyone was listening and not really caring too much to lift her head and check. Rei had never seemed to be overly worried about making connections with those around her. Heck, she'd gotten one she'd never really asked for and having the devil child following her about was far from ideal.

Hel, the devil child in question, made her way in and hopped up onto a chair, albeit with a small amount of effort between her short stature and the untied shoelaces. Much like her older counterpart, the young girl seemed to be giving the food very little attention, mostly occupying her time with unravelling a loose thread on the sleeve of her hoodie. She regarded the people present, but seemed as content as usual to keep any knowledge she was gaining from such a thing, to herself.

He went outside and walked together with Urs to a tree where the most silent duo of the orphanage often went. Most of the kids in the institution knew, this was there spot, not even the little ones played near that tree, they knew, that's where they had their silence.

As they reached the tree Jasper sat, leaned his body towards the tree and lit one cigarette. "It's a good day to be outside", he said looking at the cloudy sky whose rain was about to start. "Yesterday I was thinking... we could be so much more in this world, and instead of that, we live here, afraid from the world. We live apart from everybody else, when we could be there", as he pointed to the fence of the orphanage, "We could be there, outside, helping everyone else."

And he went back to their silence.

"Good morning, Rei, Hel," Violetta says politely, grabbing the broom to sweep up the pieces of glass. Rei is hard to puzzle out--both of them are, really--but she sees no reason to not treat them like any other. "Pancakes today. Half of the kids are already outside. Are you going back to your room after breakfast?" It's a silly thing, but Violetta hopes that one day, she might be able to break Rei out of the shell's she made for herself. Maybe they could even become friends?

It's silly, and she should really keep those thoughts to herself, but...

"A-anyway. Good morning. Did you... sleep well?"

Ginty continued to fly around until he saw people with white hair that he's never seen before so he decided to say hello. "Ummm Hi.... Do you live here too?" He asked trying to start a conversation, his voice was soft and shaky since he was pretty nervous. They looked around 16 maybe 17 but their hair was white, it caused him to be curious as to why it's like that since his hair is also white.

"Jasper if you can find away to call everyone to meals and activities on all three floors please let me know. Until then your just going to have to deal with the bell." Mrs. Clause answered the boy without looking at him. Getting everyone to the table in order to serve a meal was a challenge in patience. She wanted everyone st the table before she served the meal. She set fruit and other pancake toppings on the table. Then she began serving everyone. She brought out a couple of plates at a time and sat them in front of the children.

Myra's ears picked up what sounded like the muffled ringing of a bell, though, before she had the time to comment on it, Jazzy had taken hold of her hand, virtually dragging her out of the library and towards its source. From the fox-girl's words of 'It's ready', she figured out that what she had heard was the mealtime bell. Jazzy also mentioned a 'Mrs. Claus', who was probably the one in charge of the orphans and the upkeep of the place.

She soon caught a faint smell of freshly-made pancakes which grew stronger as she continued on through the hallways with Jazzy. They eventually made it through the doors to the dining hall. There were several children and teenagers seated at the table, an older woman whom she assumed was 'Mrs. Claus' tending to things, and a blonde teenage girl sweeping up an accident. Myra nodded politely at the adult woman and lightly smiled at the seated individuals before sitting down next to Jazzy.
