Name: Uffr Jotunn (Uffr the Giant)
Personality: To his enemies he is the devil, his ship the Odin's Whisper strikes fear into them, but to his friends he is "as soft hearted as a kitten"
Backstory: Uffr grew up by the Sea, he learned how to sail, and how to fish, once he came of age he learned the art of killing. He has been on 15 missions, and has killed more men than he can count. Recently he has earned his first ship, The Odins Whisper (Odins þǫgn) He knows the horrors of a shield wall and yet he has not been broken.
Equipment: Uffr isn't rich enough to own a sword but he knows that the axe has more versatility anyways, he knows how to pull down an enemy's shield for a friendly to stab the man, he knows how to hit with the back side and how to kill.He has affectionally named the bearded axe Thunderedge. Uffr also keeps a saxe by his side to deliver the "below" thrust. His shield is just a plane wooden shield but it was made bigger to protect his large size. On his head he wears a Nasal Helmet, On his chest Uffr wears a cheap but effective Scale armor over that he wears a cloak of wool.

Personality: Whimsical, cynical, paranoid, comical, melancholic.
Backstory: The son of a Svear couple taken from their homes as by raiders and kept as thralls, Ulf was born free and raised comfortably as a slave by a good master until he bought his own freedom. Between him becoming a freeman many years ago and now, Ulf joined many a raid to the south, east and west from which he earned a reputation as both a good companion and a vicious combatant.

Name: Svor Heiden
Personality:
She doesn't talk much, preferring to slice through shit with a greatsword. Well, when she isn't drunk that is, and Svor likes her mead. When she is drunk, nearly 75% of the time, she is fun, loud, rambunctious and all around less likely to try and castrate a man. However, when that hangover strikes...she is twice as likely to try and castrate a man.
Backstory:
Blood and Steel, not much else to tell. Born as the only daughter between an honored Viking (Jarl of the North, Sven Ysgril) and a captured woman from more temperate lands, Svor was seen as a half-breed. Many were polite to her because of her father, but hated her because of her mother. She left her home and began to roam the seas in quest to prove herself to those around her.
Equipment:
A modified set of half-plate armour that she uses. SHe also wears a black gambeson underneath.
A greatsword is strapped to her back, along with a longsword.
On her left hip swings a one-handed arming sword.
Across her chest are three throwing knives.
On her right hip is a dagger.

Appearance: He is of average height with a shaved fave and hair cut close in the style of the Byzantine(whom he had been working for for the last few years). He is fairly muscular and is more tan than the average of his people. He has green eyes.

Name: Harek Hallsson

Personality: drunk almost 24/7, he has a belief that he can never have a hangover if he never stopped being drunk. He is fairly kind and an open person on an everyday basis. It is before or during a battle that he becomes completely calm and serious.

Backstory: Harek had an inconsequential childhood with no tragedy or excitement beyond the norm. His story truly began when he went on his first raid. It had been a sizeable party of 3 ships, and there goal was to hit some small northern English villages. As they were raiding one of the villages they had been ambushed by King Richeard of Northumbria with an army much larger than their numbers. It was a massacre. Harek and 7 others had survived. They were captured and brought to the Kings dungeons. They were stuck in the cells for weeks with a large group of other prisoners. Every day men would be taken out of the cells and never come back. No one knew where they were going, though he had heard the guards mention snakes once. After 2 of his fellow kinsmen had also been taken away, he decided to escape. He organized an escape plan, and on the next day when the guards came to grab another prisoner the prisoners attacked the guards and escaped. After escaping and making it back to the ships they only had enough men to crew one of them. On the return trip they got stuck in a storm and two more fell overboard and were never seen again. Once they got back one committed suicide from the shame and another died of their wounds. The last one other than Harek was crippled and could never raid again, while Harek became a drunk to try and make the horrors go away. After 2 years of being a homeless drunk he vowed to make King Richeard of Northumbria pay, and he has done so. He has only gone on 5 raids since then 3 of them targeting the Kings land. While they were not large raids Harek managed to make them incredibly profitable for him and his brothers in arms. He would lead small bands on sneak attacks taking out wealthy targets. They would hit manors and at times even full cities. One of his most successful raids was when he managed to sneak into the city of Paris itself and loot almost one hundred churches without ever getting caught. He used the money to gather a force large enough to attack the King's citadel. He then lead one massive attack against the King. He captured the King's castle while he was out with his army, and burned it down, also looting it of everything it had. After that he then ambushed the King on his way back to the castle. It was a brutal fight with many on both sides being killed, but Harek won the day. He managed to defeat the king in combat, but right as he was about to execute him, the King's personal guard came to help the King. They shot Harek with three arrows and made him fall back to the rest of his army. Even though he had to fall back, he managed to hold on to the King's sword and uses it as a taunt. Angered by the Kings escape he released his army upon northern England with no purpose except to destroy. He never found the King and was forced to return to Scandinavia from lack of supplies for his army. After that he served as a mercenary for the Byzantine Empire for a period of 3 years before finally returning to his home in the north at the age of 33, prepared to raid once again, and he has heard that King Richeard of Northumbria has rebuilt his kingdom once again. His vengeance will not be sated until the King's head is at his feet.

Edric Godsight is a physically imposing man, possessing a strength that belies his advanced age. He is a grim man, stern and resolute. Edric prefers to err on the side of caution, entering into battle only when it suits his ends, and victory is a probable conclusion.


Edric Godsight was once the jarl of Vestfold, ruling his realm from his hall on the shores of the Oslofjord. Edric rose to power through his piety to the Norse Gods, and bringing them glory through raids along the northern shores of Europe, and exposing the weakness of Christ's warriors where possible.

Widely considered a holy man, Edric claimed to possess the ability to commune with the Gods and discern the future. His victories brought him renown and the following needed to claim the rule of Vestfold as his own. After twenty years of rule it would be his own son that would cast him from his hall.

Blinded by love of his child, and vexed by the poor company he kept, Edric ignored signs of his impending exile. Unwilling to raise a hand to his son, Edric was defeated and ousted from his hall, cast out to make way for his kin and a den of snakes. Now Edric sails to Saxon lands to return to what he knows best, subjugating Christians to the strength of the Vikings, in hopes he may earn his way into Valhalla in light of his defeat at Vesffold.


Edric Godsight's prized possession is his ship, Odin's Crow. It is a large ship with twenty oars, with charred and hardened wood crowning the bow, and a carving of a black crow. Edric's crew of some fifty men are proven warriors, some having followed Edric since before his time as Jarl. He also carries a sturdy one handed axe and a large round shield.


Edric is well renown among vikings, having songs sung of his victories of decades past. He is known for his role in overseeing the prosperous kingdom of Vestfold, making it a force to be reckoned with among Christ's followers, and its sails feared upon the seas. His claim of visions sent by Odin and the Gods and ability to discern the future also contribute to his skill in inspiring loyalty among his followers. On the battlefield, Edric is cautious, relying heavily on a strong shield wall and slow advance against his enemy, contrasted with lightning fast raids against the weak and vulnerable. Edric still possesses the strength of his youth, perhaps even more so, as he made it a point to keep his battle skills honed during his reign.
