Marijn, or Rien (pronounce Reen) as they generally go by, is pretty average in a lot of ways. They stand at a fairly average height with a fairly average weight and blue. They’ve got a very androgynous look to them; slight curves, but nothing special. It’s something easily fixed by a binder if they want to. Most of the time they don’t bother – people struggle to figure out what their gender is by appearance anyway (which is what they aim for). They’re pretty unnoticeable, honestly, which is added to by the lazy smile that’s almost permanently stuck to their lips.

In a contrast to their rest of their appearance Rien’s hair is the kind of thing that stands out. Dyed bright blue (like in your face bright), it’s obviously not their natural colour. Naturally their hair is properly blonde – which only makes it all the easier to dye. It’s rare that Rien’s lets their hair become its natural colour. They don’t really have much reason for this outside of liking how it looks. It’s incredibly curly natural and they just let it stay like that. They keep it relatively short with the fringe cut so it just doesn’t fall in front of their eyes.

Their eyes are also blue and quite a vivid shade, but not unnaturally so like the air. Their skin is fair verging on far too white. They just can’t seem to get a tan no matter how hard they try though they do have a sprinkling of freckles across their face. Rien has a fairly slim face, with a smooth jawline. Their nose sits evenly between their eyes, a bit on the large side (in their opinion).

As said previously, their body is pretty flat. It’s not particularly feminine or masculine – rather somewhere in between. This is added to by the baggy shirts they wear, topped off with jeans and denim jackets. Their not super fashionable but they do put in some effort. They’re almost always found wearing some kind of hat – probably a black beanie. Rien also has a fair few tattoos. One of the more predominant ones is a circuit board design going down the majority of their left arm. They’ve also got one on their chest (roughly above their heart) of a treble clef, with the name Katja Driessen written through it and ‘I still hear your music’ written below it in Dutch. Apart from tattoos their skin is relatively unmarked by scars.

Marijn grew up in the Netherlands, predominantly in the citty of Utrecht. They were born to a single mother and with a slightly younger twin sister, Katja. Their mother passed away when they were both quite young, too young to be properly affected by it, from illness – she had always been poorly. The two were put into foster care and jumped between families. They always managed to stick together and as a result had a close bond.

At ten Rien and their sister were adopted by a relatively young couple who could not have children of their own. The two flourished under proper parents, with Katja especially growing attached. They were both very artistic and would often sketch or paint together. Rien even took up an instrument so their sister wouldn’t be alone in learning the violin – though they much preferred sketching.

Growing older Katja got more and more sickly, before getting diagnosed with a degenerative disease and given only a few years to live. This, unsurprisingly, hit Rien hard. They really counted Katja as their only friend or family – so what would they do when they lost her.

It was at the age of fifteen, just a few weeks after their birthday, that Katja passed away. Rien tried to continue living normally – that’s what their sister would have wanted after all. But it was difficult to draw without her there and to pretend to care about anything anymore. So they just didn’t, deciding that growing attached would only get them hurt. They stopped doing traditional art in favour of digital, because it wasn’t quite as painful, and discovered their skill at computer science – throwing themselves into it.

Their adopted parents decided it would be best to start fresh in the hope that it would help. They entirely upped and moved country, all the way to USA and Farmer Hill. It was easier for Rien there, to pretend things hadn’t happened and to just live their life. They worked hard, though, to get accepted into Grand Ridge Academy as they graduated – and got a place to attend studying Computing Science.

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Life art is maybe not the best way to describe it, because Rien cannot really create living things (normally). If Rien draws some kind of object and focuses on it they can essentially make it come out of the picture / create it. It’s created exactly as it was drawn (so black and white comes out black and white). It’s also the size that is was drawn on that paper, so if Rien draws a tiny mug they’ll get one just like it. Unsurprisingly the abstraction manifested from their love (or former love) of art.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ In the presence of the mountain the first thing enhanced is the size of the things Rien can make. They’re not limited to the size of the paper, but can rather make things bigger than how they were drawn. They can also actually draw and bring into the world living beings (as long as they actually exist) – so they could draw a plant and bring it to life, or a cat.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Connected to their generally uncaring personality, Rien cause sense the auras of anyone who is overly stressed or tense in a twenty foot or so radius.

First noticeable thing about Caelea is that she's short. There are people that are shorter, sure, but not very many. She pretends not to care about this - and honestly she doesn't, unless someone makes a comment about it. Then she'll make a big deal about it. But that'd happen if someone made fun of her for anything else. It's obvious by her body that's she's quite fit, with well toned arms and legs. She's slim with little extra weight - she exercises too often and eats too little for that.

Aside from the fact that she's short, adding to Caelea being easily identified is the fact that she's albino. This means that everything about her it very pale. It gives her a certain ethereality to her appearance which is only added to by the fact that she's pretty aloof. Her hair is such a light blonde that it's looks practically white. While most would be happy to have a hair colour others would have to dye to achieve it annoys Caelea to no end. She's not exactly going to blend in with it is she? Still she keeps it long enough so that it falls below her shoulders. It's quite feather like and messy, often tied back to prevent it from falling in front of her face.

Caelea’s skin is, unsurprisingly, very pale. To the point where the smallest bit of sun could burn her. It’s a pain, really. Her face is quite round and lacking in any sharp edges – quite long in shape. Her nose and lips are well proportioned to it. She has eyes that are technically very pale blue. However in certain lights they look more purple then anything, and sometimes even have a reddish tint. She likes to stick with describing them as blue. It’s more normal.

Along with being slim and fit Caelea has decent curves for her size. Nothing too large (or annoying) but enough to make her body quite attractive. She generally lacks in scars – her hands and feet are tough and callused from gymnastics, but she doesn’t have anything else noticeable. They’re pretty obvious to in her more normal attire – she has a preference for shorts and tank tops over anything else, sometimes with a jacket on the top. She’ll swap to jeans or leggings if it’s really cold. Most of her clothes are quite plain coloured in varying shades of blue or any other colours she thinks don’t make her look washed out. Most of her clothing is quite sporty. She doesn’t have any tattoos, but she does have a right nose piercing.

Caelea was born in Farmer Hill and has never lived anywhere else. Her parents both moved to America when they were younger, after just marrying. So she’s technically Scottish and Irish even if she’s never visited the countries. Caelea was their second child, born ten years after her older brother. A mistake, you could say.

Her childhood was pretty normal, though. Her father was a banker and her mother an accountant – both well enough of that they were comfortable. With this came a certain stuck up opinion. The last thing they wanted was for their children to become farmers. That was below them. Because of her families nature Caelea didn’t have many friends in school. As she grew older the number decreased. Her parents pushed her hard to follow after them and be academically – to be like her brother who aced all his exams and easily got into Grand Ridge Academy to study mathematics. This was the last thing Caelea wanted. She was much more into sports and physical activities. Her parents said some pretty harsh things when she asked to join just a normal sports team.

So she learned simple gymnastics herself and worked on her flexibility through videos online all while going to school. When her brother graduated and got a good job in Farmer Hill she confided in him – he wasn’t as bad as her parents. Grudgingly her brother agreed to take her to gymnastics classes out of town, claiming that he was spending time with his sister once a week. Caelea excelled and enjoyed herself for once.

Then the end of high school came and with it the prospect of College. It was the last thing Caelea wanted to do but she wasn’t exactly given a choice. So, she got a place doing accounting at Grand Ridge because her parents made her and because she can’t say no to them. After all, the last thing she wants to be is a disappointment.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Air Manipulation

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ In actuality Caelea’s ability isn’t quite full blown Air Manipulation. She can control air but only in a more limited way – she can essentially create blasts of air out of her hands or feet. These have a range of maybe up to a foot. She can control just how powerful the air is, from a light breeze to a very strong gust. It’s obviously only useful in close range but allows her to do things such as propelling herself into the air or softening a landing. It can also blow stuff away and if she used it at its strongest on someone it would be quite damaging.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ In the presence of the mountain Caelea’s power becomes more full blown out air manipulation, so its controlling air in the more traditional sense. She no longer has to strictly shoot air out of her hands or feet and the distance is much greater, probably about ten times the amount.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Caelea can sense the auras of people who are not touching the ground in what is about a thirty meter radius. This includes those who are high up in buildings – technically touching something but not the “ground” itself.

Not really, apart from the fact Caelea is a remake of a character from way back.

Peter’s skin is slightly paler than average, owing to the fact that he doesn’t really spend much of his time outside “towin the fields” like a lot of the more active locals, even then he’s more of a night person. Peter’s hair is typically wild and unkempt, curling usually around the sides and backs which suits his laid back personality but makes him appear like even more of stoner which doesn’t tend to endear itself to the populace.

Peter has an odd sense of style, best described as casually weird. He typically wears regular jeans but couples it with a pair of silver converse sneakers that he likes to keep at a clean shine. Peter also showcases his fanboyism of eighties rock by wearing band shirts on an almost constant basis, RUSH, Pink Floyd, Judas Priest etc. Though he will occasionally sport a shirt or accessory from something of this era, he also commonly wears a plaid flannel shirt with the buttons undone over his tees. Lastly Peter never leaves home without his walkman (yes, seriously) clipped to his waist and the headphones resting around his neck.

Peter’s mother Amanda Grey was a former member of Farmer’s Hill, born to a middle class family, life was normal if not aggressively mundane, when she reached her twenties Amanda made the (oft criticized by her family) decision to move away from the monotony of rural life and sought excitement abroad, though the furthest she ever got was Montreal. While there Amanda took a job as an office cleaner which is where she met Michael Benson during an embarrassing incident where he’d went to the bathroom during closing hours and was left locked in, through this wondrous encounter to surely tell the kids about, the two began dating. Eventually Amanda moved into his apartment where the two would “enjoy each other’s company” for about three months before learning would have an out of wedlock bundle of joy on the way.

After Peter was born their relationship quickly became strained, turning out a quick fling leading into a move-in leading into a child was hardly the best relationship plan. After two years the locks on the apartment changed and Amanda was left far away from home with nowhere to lay her head or her child’s, Amanda very quickly let her dreams of freewheeling die out in order to take care of her child. When she returned (through a plane ticket paid for by her family) she was not greeted with a warm welcome, particularly on account of her returning home with a bastard in tow. Through gritted teeth they allowed their daughter back into their home simply on account of how little money she had to support a child but they never particularly kind or welcoming towards Amanda or her son.

With frequently working long hours Peter rarely saw his mother growing up and was regularly left in the care of his indifferent relatives who didn’t take kindly as his attention and desire to do well in school slipped along with his grades, quite regularly criticising his mother on how he was raised and quite often pushing for medication to help his grades improve. What little attentiveness and passion Peter had slipped away as he barely finished high school, his mother hoping to help him gain inspiration away from his family insisted he enrol at Grand Ridge to do music.

Away from his family and living in the dormitories, Peter’s disposistion, outwardly, improved but inwardly he developed an almost nihilistic view on Farmer Hill and life in general, finding no real passion or motivation in much and being relatively uncaring of the goings on, generally just getting high and coming across as more laid back to put much stock in anything.

Though he has started to try more and better his mental state, what little optimism Peter has had for his future is slowly but surely losing ground.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Enhanced Speed and reflex

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Peter is able to run at superhuman speeds, while hardly The Flash he is able to go faster than the human eye is able to process, while running his reflexes heighten, insofar in that he gains enough wherewithal to make sure he doesn’t smack into anything or trip over loose ground, though he can still be knocked off balance from forces beyond his control.

Peter’s body can only withstand so much however so he himself isn’t quite sure how fast he can reasonably reach, the closer he gets to Mount Ever Reaching however the faster he is able to go at a shorter rate of time. When in the presence of other abstracts however he feels a sort of mental block on how fast he is able to go, needing to prioritize more quick bursts than long stretches, he also seems to tire quicker when around other abstracts. At a far distance from the mountain Peter is able to run up to around 100kmh, just fast enough to run across the surface of water, this speed decreasing the further he gets from the mountain.

Peter’s abstract stems from his desire to feel free and unbound by the norms or grim realities he believes await him in his future, ironically, his speed is much like a drug in that it is in reality nothing more than fantastical escapism.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ Mount Ever Reaching seems to gradually “unlock” faster speeds Peter can go, the longer he spends running in its presence the quicker he can become, if he spends long enough running next to The Mountain he can move so quickly that time slows to a sheer crawl around him, however going at these speeds carries a great deal of risk, though Peter’s body adapts to withstand the pressure and he seems to carry more energy than usual, going this fast can very easily have Peter pass out from the sheer exhaustion or even be unable to withstand the force any longer if he doesn't pace himself.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Peter feels the general impatience of others, a feeling that is greatly unpleasant for someone who didn’t carry much patience around to begin with, in a radius of about 15 metres Peter can feel a gnawing burn in the back of his skull as the general impatience or irritation of others worms its way into his mind.

Britney definitely has a bit of size to her body. From the fact that she's abnormally tall - both her mom and dad were huge in terms of height - to to her sheer body mass. In fact, her sheer height is the first thing that people notice about her. Something that she's insecure about, very insecure about. Since not too many boys appreciate that she's far taller than them. That's just something that she lives with. The other aspect that makes her look big her body shape. She has a bit of a oval body-shape that is mostly shaped by extra body fat that she just can't seem to shake off. Though, that body fat compliments her. It makes her very curvy. That was the result of puberty being very kind to Britney. Her behind's size has always been the butt of jokes among friends, and she's definitely chesty (at 40F). She is definitely a woman. Though, because of her body-shape, people also get the impression that she is fat. While she is a bit heavier than other girls, she is definitely not obese.

She has an air of confidence around her, the kind of confidence that she owns the world, and that nothing can touch her. Almost like she is noble. She takes large steps, and has a big smile on her face at all times. That nobility vibe comes in the way she dresses - she wears quite expensive and fancy looking clothing. The kind of attire that gives away that she comes from Farmer Hill's upper class. If that confidence fades for whatever reason, something is very wrong. Though, her tone of voice is quite pleasant (albeit condescending at times), she seems to circumvent that aura by being quite kind and passionate, and happy.

Another thing that makes Britney stick out in a crowd (at least in Farmer Hill) is her skin color. She's African-American, and has a bunch of different African nations flowing through her blood. She's primarily Sierra-Leonean, and Nigerian, but she is distantly Ethiopian, Sudanese, and she even has a bit of Egypt in her. Which gave her her curly black hair kept in a pompadour of sorts, her facial features, and skull-shape. Her face is pretty round, mostly because of her big rosey cheeks, and her dull jawline. Which gives her a bit of a baby-face. She has a large nose with a wide bridge, and fairly large nostrils. Crescent shaped ears that are pierced, usually with large ear-rings or jewelry. She has thick lips, and a slightly wide mouth that, when she smiles, exposes her very shiny teeth. Her eyes are almond shaped, and a light-brown color.

While Britney herself is a native of Farmer Hill, her ancestors were not. It started all the way back before Britney's father was even born. Her grandfather was a very wealthy man that seemingly appeared out of the blue (Actually from Philadelphia), and landed in Farmer Hill. Starting a series of successful businesses in Farmer Hill, and quickly and aggressively snatching power and businesses from the natives of Farmer Hill - forcing some out of jobs. It was a sight to see one man gain so much power in a short amount of time, and it was even more pride hurting for the racist members of the community that a lot of the businesses are owned by a black man. Which escalated the Williams family to a higher status within the small town.

This legacy/empire continues to modern day, when the Williams family still have a strong foothold in Farmer Hill's community. Britney was born as the first daughter of her father's new generation, and three siblings followed. While daddy worked hard in the offices keeping the businesses afloat, Britney lived the highlife. She had everything that the city had to offer at her disposal, and she used it. From going to expensive schools out of town, to buying expensive clothes, to going on luxurious vacations abroad! She was living the life that people could only dream of.

Though, Britney's life was a truly lonely one. She really didn't have anyone other than herself, and her extended family. No real friendship. Exploring the US and the luxurious vacations didn't seem all that great when she went home to nobody. She felt that nobody cared. To help her end her loneliness (or at least distract herself from it) she picked up hobbies. The one that she grew to love the most is gardening. She didn't know what drew her to the hobby, but she loves doing it more than anything else. Nothing excites her more than going out and forging her garden into something special. The garden in the back of the William estate was created by her.

Britney's philosophy was heavily shaped by her mother. She did her best to keep Britney realistic, and remind her that she is one piece of a greater world. One beyond Farmer Hill. As she grew up, she tried to carefully examine her mother's words, as she began to self-examine. She went out to Farmer Hill, and tried to make friends with the other people her age. Some rejected her, in time, she began to make friends with the other girls her age. That put the idea in her head that she could do anything if she put her mind to it. She brought loneliness to an end, so she could bring anything to an end.

Her father learned of her activities, and brought an end to it. That did nothing to prevent Britney from going out, and having fun with her friends. The last thing she wanted to be was cooped up inside some shitty mansion all day, so she went out and had fun. She met a variety of people she is friends with to this very day. One of her closest friends was one of the town trouble makers, and they were practically inseparable. Though, they both discovered something about themselves skinny dipping one night that got rather heated. Sharing a kiss, the two realized their affections for each other. Britney didn't know how to come to terms with it, but kept it a secret. This lead to her relationship with her friend becoming a bit awkward, and eventually they drifted apart.

Once Britney came of age, and graduated high-school, she chose to attend Grand Ridge Academy to master in Business, and Administration. Because she realized that the hatred of her, and her self-loathing, will never end unless she becomes her own person, that stands on her own two feet. Though, she's starting to realize there's something about the town most people don't know....

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Spawning from her inherent joy, and love of gardening, Britney gained a connection with plants unlike no other. She has to ability to channel the force shared between all Awakened into the areas around her to create and manipulate plant life.

In it's rawest form, she can spawn a wheat colored energy that appears like a floating light anywhere around her with a mere thought, and move this energy around. This energy appears like a spectral force, and from this force, Britney can create any kind of plant life. Seemingly growing it from the light like a source. From this ability, she can create vines, to trees, to bushes, practically anything plant based that is limited by her knowledge of the plant. The only issue is that it takes time for Britney to grow the plant. She can't instantly make a tree appear, of course, but she can quickly make vines appear to attack people with. Now let me note, she doesn't need soil or the sort, she can create it anywhere in a three meter radius (doesn't mean they'll survive long, but yeah). Oh, I should mention that the Blind cannot see this energy, but they can see it's effects.

This energy she can manipulate can also infuse plant life. For starters, it can cause them to grow even more (much faster and more efficiently than creating it from nothing), she can manipulate existing plants, and repair damage plants (possibly reviving plants, removing toxins and diseases, and more). As a side ability, this energy allows Britney to telekinetically manipulate certain plants on a much wider radius. From up to ten meters away, she can telekinetically move things like leaves, fruit, pieces of plant matter, etc. Long as it's less than two pounds, she can lift it - but she is capable of living several things at a time, long as she doesn't lift more than thirty pounds. When she uses her ability, it's accompanied by a wind, nothing drastic. Giving the idea that the wind is doing all the work.

Britney is psychically/mentally connected to all plant life around her in a forty meter radius. She mentally knows where plants are in the area, which part of their life cycle they're in, what kind of plant they are, and what they sense. You see, to an extent, plants can feel, see, smell, and taste (There's also a theory that they can hear, but eh). Well, it's mostly limited to other plants, or certain parts of nature. Sometimes Britney wonders if she can communicate. With plants. Part of her wonders if she's crazy.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ Britney's abstraction grows a bit in power, and allows her to create plantlife in a ten meter radius, and create it much faster. She can potentially cause a tree to sprout near instantly if she wills it hard enough, and can create a wreath of vines near instantly. In addition, her plant empathy will expand to all plant life within Farmer Hill. Basically giving her unlimited sight.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Her aura-sensing is connected to her mental connection to plant-life. By kneeling down, placing her hand down, and concentrating, she can scry through plants in a way. She can sense the auras of those standing in/touching plant life anywhere within her forty meter range. However, it depends on how dense the plant life in the area is. If the person is only touching a plant, she can vaguely sense them, but if they're standing in the middle of a forest, she'll be able to see them clearly. She can only focus on one location at a time, and a very small radius. The moment she stops focusing, however, she'll lose the ability to see their auras.
