Okay, grok this.

Wizard X Files. A team of witches and wizards working for the International Confederacy of Wizards. Their job is to investigate unexplained phenomena reported by muggles and determine whether the origin is magical or not(and therefore whether it's a threat to the International Statute of Secrecy).

It would be episodic, exploring cultures from around the world, with particular prominence placed on their superstitions.

It allows us to play characters from around the world, too. And they would all be specialized in some way, I think.

I don't know what our first episode should be, I'm trying to keep it grounded in both real life superstition, and HP canon. Though I know we'll have to make things up at some point.

EDIT: If anyone has any ideas, PM me to keep it quiet from the others ;)

Worldwide internet connectivity has made it easier for muggles to share the unexplainable events that they witness regularly when foolish witches and wizards allow their work to be seen. Though this has been the case for nearly two decades, the International Confederation of Wizards has been slow to act in their ignorance of the wider Muggle world. It is now, in 2016, finally acknowledging this threat to their secrecy and responding to it in the form of an international task force of specialists.

Members: Richard Nothing. Specializes in transfiguration. Prefers research to practical experimentation. Muggle born.
Ex-Auror from America, and capable duelist. Particularly good at detection avoidance. Muggle-raised half blood. Opinionated and vulgar.

We can do proper CSes later, but let's just give a brief overview of characters for now.

I kinda want a character who specializes in Legilimency and memory charms, but I'm not too sure where to go from there. I'll see if I can get a better idea for his actual character sometime today.

Ocllo Rivera.
Originally from Chile but moved to America for her education. She specializes in languages, dead languages, and especially dead magic languages. Previous items on her resume include: Apprentice Archaeologist, Translator for the Inter-American Aurors association, consulting to American Aurors in relevant investigations, and finally worked for the Mesoamerican Ministry of Magic office in the correspondences department for the past 5 years. She is of mixed blood and therefore familiar with both muggle and wizard culture and history.
She is eager to get out of the office and into the field. These attributes (hopefully) make up for what she lacks in terms of magical ability on the field team.

Beat me to the Latinx. Now I can't take the easy choice and work with a culture I'm familiar with :P

EDIT: Ooh I just thought of a fun direction to go with my character. It'll be something different for me, hopefully I can make it work. I'm excited.
