I think now that we are getting into our first action sequence we should establish more concrete-ly some things.

Such as the limits of the magic Pria knows, how physically tough she would be and also how fast/easily she could work the ship(s).

I don't want to power-play or Deus Ex Machina a way out of this for free. If I know what cards are in the deck then I can play :D

Obviously she isn't terribly strong. About average there, but perhaps she's pretty nimble? Her smaller size and speed would give some small advantage in a scrap. I also stated she had some experience in a fight but nothing major, just squabbles and whatnot. Enough to not clam up every-time lol

As for magic I stated it's reflection based, and that she derives power from a goddess. So perhaps she can pray for a protective barrier? It would take verbally asking for it, as well as the time to finish the prayer. Then her pocket mirror can be powered magically to reflect blows? So if someone punches at her and holds the mirror up, they would hurt their fist with an equal reaction. With laser shots and stuff I think it's fair she can reflect those as well, granted that she can pour enough magic into the mirror. Also I had the idea of her "holding" the reflection of some-things to use later. Like if someone stabs at her and she manages to block it with the mirror, then she can hold the mirror to someone later and let a stab of equal size and force out later?

Sounds pretty cool. It's limited enough. The prayer needs time (maybe she needs to pray to 'reload' the mirror every time she wants to use it?). Also, she needs to hold the mirror for the reflection magic so if she looses it she can't use it. How about she can use the barrier magic at all times, but the barrier only holds for a short while? The stronger she makes the barrier, the more impact it can take but also the faster it wears off?

I take it she can either use the barrier or the reflection magic but not at the same time? I'm alright with her being pretty fast. She's not very tall and she's a woman so she will be underestimated easily, giving her an initial advantage in a fight. How does that sound?

As for the ship, right now I'm basing its behaviour on what self-driving cars would act like. They stop when they get too close to ther vehicles to prevent collision, which is why the ship stopped. There ahould always be a manual override. This particular shuttle has no weapons of itself. Do you think ships should have a shield of some sort?

Also, I was thinking that transporter technology is possible but only short distance, like a kilometer max (or a mile if you will). That way people and stuff can be beamed from ship to ship, but you can't beam down from the athmosphere to a planet. lso, woth the technology being pretty advanced even then it could be limeted available. The shuttle they're on is quite luxurious so I would guess they would have the tech. The ship behind them as well, but the shuttle in front of them doesn't.

Okay cool! So the barrier is free to use, but very short lasted, and even shorter the more punishment it can take.

The reflections she has to hold the mirror naturally, and for the holding an attack in it she has to recharge with prayer.

And yeah that sounds fair for the fighting. She just has to be surprising lol.

I take it you intend to duck. He can hit you lightly or miss younalltogether, but he will fire off a few shots, one of them making the computer go beep with warning over something being hit. This vould be something critical if you wish, or something more minor, so they're still capable of getting home onbtheir own. With the attackers blinded blinded, Hensen will dive atop the one who toppled over because he's closest to him.

I imagine for beaming the two back to their own shuttle -or better yet, the shuttle with no beaming/transporter/teleportation capabilities (warping in my universe applies to space bending, which they use for faster than light travel), they would need to get the two to a platform for that. They could also keep them in the bavk, where a force field can be erected, but if the force field fails they'll be in trouble.

Okay so to warp the people have to be in a specific place on their ship? Hensen's dad's shuttle does have one yes?

I'll leave it up to you whether or not the shuttle is still flyable after the console get's shot. Would the warning alarm the people on the other ships? Or is it just for the shuttle our main characters are in?

And should I put in my post that Hensen dived onto the closer one? Then I can write about what Pria is doing to the other.

Warp is the wrong term. That applies to faster than light travel done by a space ship. You mean teleportation (short distance).

You can write Hensen's part as Pria would only see him dive onto the one before she attacks the other. She'd be too occupied to pay attention to exactly what he does.

This friday we'll be getting the key to our new house and we'll need to do a lot of work on that. I hope I can respond daily like I do now as I have two kids who need taken care of and I want to be home with them in the evenings, but just a heads-up if my posting gets a little less frequent, I'll probably be busy with the house.
