You'd be right! The reason he freaked out when he tasted the blood on his finger is because he used to think that everything was either a simulation or an incredibly elaborate prank.

@Raddum I couldn't help but chuckle when he asked for a crowbar. Out of character motivations...was he being serious, or trying to crack a small joke? Either way it's telling of who he is.
