Aight, I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for a long time and a strong desire to see a Bleach RP on the guild, but alas, my dreams have not come to fruition so I have decided to take matters into my own hand and construct what I have desired. The idea seems plenty promising to me and if it can garner enough interest, we could have a good thing going here so that’s why I decided to pop out this interest check.

Just want to throw out that you do not have to know the anime much/whatsoever to participate. As long as you do a little research on the key concepts(e.g. the zanpakuto, guard squadrons etc. you'll be absolutely fine. The concepts within the anime are very easy to understand and follow so don't be frightened.

I’m going to cover some key things then, so without further ado:

• I’m going to need a co-gm. I’ve gmed before and I’m positive that I’m good enough at it that I can make an interesting experience, but it is a matter of consistency. I’d like some help in the role so if you’re interested in helping me build the experience, let me know.
• Storywise, this is troublesome given the context that Bleach is in. It has gone far beyond my comprehension within the manga so we’re going to pretend that everything after the Aizen arc never happened unless you’ve got some amazing character concept that requires a detail from what happens, in which case we’ll work something out.
• As a whole, the Bleach universe is confusing given the lifespan of the characters, the sheer amount of filler, etc. Due to this, we will mostly be referring to the wiki/fan knowledge for anything that you need specifics on, but there is not going to be remaining characters from the anime within this RP. We’re going to see all of the events that happened previously in the anime as past events, and this as a new era if you will. However, the era that the human world is in is still in the same era for convenience and reasons that will be explained within the first post.
• This is going to be a middle-casual level RP. Whilst this is the case, I want to see a high level of detail on the characters. This does not mean that I wish for you to write a novel, it merely means that I want you to explain everything that you can about your character in your sheet. Whether this is through a large amount of writing or concise details is up to you, but I want to see innovative characters.

Now that the important points are covered, there’s not much to say. I’m going to leave the character sheet here so those who wish to work on their character can do so(but if you wish to do something that seems like it would be questionable, please do private message me beforehand so that you don’t waste your time writing a concept that won’t/can’t be approved.)

Name: (Doesn’t have to be Japanese)

Gender: Male or Female.

Age: (Include your visible age as well for clarity, given how long Shinigami live.

Appearance: (include a description if you want. It gives a better image of your character if your picture isn’t exactly what you had in mind. Height and weight would be nice to have as well)

Personality: (Be descriptive. Include your characters likes/dislikes/tendencies/traits/hobbies. Nothing is off limits here. What makes your character themselves?)

Biography: (At least 2-3 paragraphs minimum with enough detail. This should be about your characters life in the soul society/how they became a Shinigami)

Former Life: (I don’t expect a full backstory if you don’t wish to write one, but a short summary of what your character was before entering the soul society would be interesting to hear/valuable to the story)

Zanpakuto: (Here comes the fun part. The zanpakuto is the source of all Shinigami power, so write everything about it. Japanese names are recommended for these as English names don’t sound quite write in translation but tell us about it. Note that Shikai is the absolute limit that we’ll have for now, and even then I don’t really want to see the special abilities of the Zanpakuto available right away as that takes away from character development)

Abilities: (Give us a rundown. Is your character an expert swordsman, a kido master, a master of Shunpo. Try to leave some room for development.)

Weaknesses: (Everyone has their demons. What are they lacking ability in, what is the thing holding them back?)

Other: (Anything that my unnecessarily long sheet didn’t cover? Write it here!)

Quick question though @Artymis if Shikai is our limit, and given that no detailing of the shikai's abilities mean they've only achieved it a while ago, would our characters be Academy students (freshman to preparing to graduate) or unseated/low seated Shinigami (like 20th or 19th seat) within the division?
Also, I assume the Gotei 13's taicho, fuku-taicho and sou-taicho are all going to remain canon?

Aight, to answer two of your questions

1. I'll allow you to detail your Shikai's abilities, but what your character will currently have will just be a premature shikai state(Think Yumichika's Fujikujaku. This'll mean that your characters can either be freshly graduated soul reapers or people who've been there for a little bit. Most I'll allow a current character to be will be around 6th seat currently(but given that the characters are going to progress at a decent speed people shouldn't really rush to have the most strong character.
2. I'm torn a bit here. I've not kept up with the manga well enough in order to assume canon-esque nor would I want to roleplay a premade character, so what I'm going to do is use character's that I've created for these positions and introduce them slowly as was done in the show so that I'm not overwhelmed with having to create over 40 different characters. Also, for the sake of convenience I'll have everyone start in the same squad and separate as their circumstances, abilities and skillets become more polished into the the squads they specialise in or the squads that they can easily obtain a promotion in.

I'm definitely interest. As for a CoGm, I don't know. I mean, I'm always down for assisting with planning or coming up with characters, but I'm not very good with actual leadership :(

Is it that there's a finite number of spells with the stronger spells having higher ranks, or is there an infinite number of kido spells and the numbers just denote the difficulty? I ask, because I don't think there's ever been a definite answer given in the series, and sometimes players like to create their own spells, which can be limited if its the finite version. ^.^;

It's alright if you're not up for co-gming, hopefully we'll see a lot more people interested in that.

1. I'd like at least 8-ish before I begin. I'd like to fully flesh out a squadron and it makes it easier the more members there are. I'm not really looking to put a cap on the amount of people that can join either.

2. Err, this is an interesting one that admittedly I hadn't give much thought to. The Bleach kido system was not fully fleshed out within the show, they missed out on a lot of numbers. Initialy I'll allow some variance and any numbers below a certain one that'll I'll state once we start to get some more people showing up, and as we carry on that'll increase with the character strength accordingly if you get the idea.

Yeah, that'll be the gameplan initially. After a little while once people start to discover their zanpakutos abilities and their own talents, the squads will shuffle up

Err, a little bit of both. AU in the sense that I don't really plan to have many actual bleach characters in the RP. However, the universe will be the same and all the evenets that occured in the anime will be viewed as history rather than having not happened. Sorry for the confusing answer but its a bit of both if you catch what im saying.

I'd may be interested in joining. I've wanted to do a fullbringer for awhile but that doesn't seem reasonable in this. I'm fairly blank when it comes to Bleach and I only know the basics but I'd be willing to do a swords wielder. A dual swords reader is a fine concept with me regardless of rarity. I don't mind some variance in that sense given that the previous dual-zanpakuto holders are no longer living. It's fine if you want to make that as your concept.

I'm gonna get a sample character out in a day for those who want to work on their sheet and need something to go by.

It can be either. It depends what you're trying to go for in your zanpakuto. I suppose it should be two, but if you wanted to work something up with one in an interesting twist then you can go for it!

Of course I'm perfectly willing to dial it down, and just make it two different beings inhabiting their own unique blades.

I've got no issue with them combining once they reach a bankai state. The yin-yang esque elements to it do seem a bit main-characterish but given that this is bleach, as long as it's executed properly it'll be fine. Feel free to expand on the concept if that's the route you want to go, just ask if something seems like it needs conformation.

I don't intend to come off at that way. One will be a respectful but practical individual, and the other will be more underhanded, and devious. Its not a matter of one being evil, or good. Its a matter of what they suggest. Light is Not Good, and Dark is not Evil essentially if you want tv tropes. Both combine together to form a being that essentially is the ultimate combat pragmatist but also is hard neutral in other words he doesn't care for morality. Victory is essential is his underline.

Again this is all just the initial idea we can change it as it comes along.
