Personality: Yami isn't the most talkative person, not that he is shy, he just prefers to keep his ideas to himself, though he will speak up if he thinks that something is wrong or not the way that he thinks it's right. He spends most of his time reading fantasy books that he brings from Earth each time he goes there on a mission. Other that that he likes to be outside and have walks in the the forest. While in battle his personality shifts, one can see the enjoyment in his face while fighting, his eyes "change" to a predatory look and his body takes a steady stance opposite to the more "chilled" one he normally walks around.
Former Life and Biography: Back when he was human Yami lived in Japan, nothing about his life was out of the ordinary, he lived alone, and grew up in an orphanage never knowing who his parents was. One day he died. He does not remember how, but the last thing he saw was a bright red-ish light coming from underneath his bedroom door. When he "woke up" in the soul society it took him a few years to understand what was going on and what was his place in this new world. He wandered from town to town, learning about the new world he was living now. A few years past until he decided that he wanted to become a shinigami, this decision came with no apparent reason, he just felt that it was what he was meant to do. So he joined the academy. During his training years Yami was never really skilled in Zanjutsu, but he balanced his weakness by being really good with Kidō and Hohō.
A few years after joining the Gotei 13,during a mission hunting a group of Hollows that were attacking a small village in the outskirts of Soul Society, Yami got separated from his group, and found himself surrounded by three Hollows, in that moment, while cornered, Yami heard a voice coming from his sword. It said a name and Yami called for it. His Zanpakuto turned into a bow, and using his Shikai powers he managed to defeat two hollows. The third one was bigger and stronger but after defeating the first two Yami's captain showed up and with a movement of his sword he destroyed the last hollow. Afraid of prejudice of his weapon look Yami was speechless towards the Captain, but without saying a word the Captain gave him a nod of acceptance and Yami dispelled his Shikai. Out of gratitude Yami now wishes to climb up in ranks in order to serve his Captain as best as he can.
Zanpakuto - Shiroi Umō (White Feather): In it's sealed form it looks like a normal katana with a white circular guard. When the Shikai is released chanting the words "Fly, Shiroi Umō" it takes the form of two small daggers that Yami can use normally but also trow and make them spin in the air. After trowing the daggers Yami can make change course in mid air and also make them come back to his hands.
Abilities: Not being skilled in sword fighting Yami compensates with the use of Kido, he is able to cast up to number 50 spells without chanting. Not being a master in Shunpo he can still move really fast as well as being able to air step.
Weaknesses: Yami's greatest strength is also his weakness. Afraid of prejudice by others for it's resemblance with a quincy bow, Yami never releases his Shikai true form, restraining him from using it's true power. Only when alone and if the situation really calls for it will Yami chant the words "Fly and Spread your Wings, Shiroi Umō" making his Zanpakutō assume it's true released form. In it's true shikai form, the Zanpakutō takes the form of a bow from which Yami can shoot arrows at great speed. When Yami activates his Shikai a quiver also appears in his back filled with 20 arrows (this number has grown with training), after using all the arrows his Shikai dispels. The arrows are surrounded by high speed winds. Yami can control the winds in two ways: make them have high speed and piercing capacity or make them able to push the enemy hit with blunt force. The only person in the Gotei 13 to know about his shikai true form his his Division Captain.

I am still hard at work but so you'd be able to see where I am I thought I'd give a peek As usual, I had to find the right pictures
Name: Kasumioji Mitsuki (The White Crane) 6th seat of the 4th Divison
Gender: Female
Age: Early 20s (237)
Personality: Mitsuki is a quiet young woman who is seen as studious in her studies of Zanjutsu and is often found practicing her Iaijutsu (Sword Drawing) When not found with her sword in her hand she is tending the Baths of the Seireitei or healing those that need her attention. She is known for her discretion in both word and deed Mitsuki is trusted by her squad and looked to in times of trouble if their Captain or Lieutenant are unavailable She never offers excuses or tries to hide any mistake she makes and any 4th Squad under her supervision know she will share in their mistakes without complaint. Fun loving she is strangely also known as an expert gambler and drinker who should never be taken lightly in either field.
@Artymis I've edited her age to 144, meaning she's been a Shinigami for less than a century. Also edited her abilities so she's a Zanjutsu expert and a Hoho adept.
@Artymis Alright, I changed the zanpakuto's ablity to what you asked. To "absorb reishi that is below or equal to the spiritual pressure of the user." Also added more detail into the abilities list. Let me know if it is good to go or if I have to add more or not.
Hey! I'm not that far into bleach, like 200 something episodes and was wondering if it's okay if I still join. I love the show and would love to be a part of this rp.
That was a filler arc. Only saw it once, because it's bad. Only filler arc I like to rewatch is the Zanpaktou rebellion due to the awesome Byakuya v Koga foght

Kizu is the textbook definition of a hot head, he possess all the unsavory qualities you want in a person and more. Seeing as he died relatively young he was never able to shed and mature through his teenage delinquency. Most people saw him as a deviant while he saw himself as the anti-hero to his own personal story. His methods might have been questionable and standoffish, but he never succumbed to the forces of evil. Despite his behavior and how bullied other children who were two weak for him to stomach, he always remained deep in his convictions of remaining as the hero, or rather a hero. Besides his feverishly short temper, Kizu is crude, violent, arrogant, and aggressive. Kizu refuses to be helped by anyone, weakness is the one disease he does not want to be plagued by. Most often than not, people see his behavior as an outcry for help, but when they reach of a helping hand he smacks it away leaving himself to deal with his own devices.
His violent and aggressive tendencies lend themselves to his love for battle, all things violent and confrontational he welcomes with open arms. His brutality and bloodthirst are put on poignant display as he seems to get off on battle, riding it like a high as if he were an addict. Battle was all he knew, while he was relatively bright, pursuing knowledge over strength was never a priority in his life. Sculpting his path to infamy with his own hands appealed more than someone telling him what to do. His personality reflects his fighting style: mercilessly assaulting the opponent and having no regard for nearby objects, merely destroying them with his power. Despite this, he's quite talented in fighting, He's also very intelligent, being able to change strategies on that fly and reacting to his environment. Kizu has a superiority complex and wants to be the best fighter. He doesn't like when people look down on him, as if they were superior; thus, it diminishes his already short fuse.
Despite his extreme arrogance, he also thinks of people who are weak as food for the strong. Because of his complex, he's quite anti-social; he seems not to care for much people as he doesn't names or most faces. Beyond that, Kizu also immensely prideful, as he hates the idea of others either helping him or having to rely on others to assist him in battle. Because of his pride, Kizu refuses to work together with others, claiming he can do whatever he's assigned on his own. This volatile cocktail of traits has left him the perfect fit for being a Shinigami and entering the academy on his own accord.
Kizu had a pretty average life for the most part, his parents were in the picture and quite endearing with young Kizu, but that never prevented him from becoming such a troublemaker. His father was quite the submissive type never wanting to experience confrontation, despite this he loves his family very much and disapproves of Kizu’s behavior. His mother is similar to Kizu in the way she’s short tempered and aggressive which seems to be the genetic trait Kizu received. However, she is more refined and mature than Kizu is while also disapproving of his behavior. Regardless, Kizu was still the big dog on campus since his earliest years. From as little as elementary school to high school, this budding tough guy was largely a bully that everyone feared and refused to fight. Of course his aggressive and dominant personality attracted other unsavory types. Except for the fact they were more passive and cowards who just seemed to build up Kizu’s actions. While he hated cowards he didn’t’ mind having a hype man at his side.
Eventually Kizu became the unspoken king of high school, it was almost as if people threw roses at his feet, but out of fear instead of admiration. That’s when the start of the end or rather the beginning of the end occurred. One boring and lame day in the streets of Hokkaido led to the sudden inspiration for the next big rush and thrill. Kizu always loved foreign culture especially weapons and games that they did not have in japan. On this particular game Kizu decided to usher in the lethal game of chance from their Russian neighbors, Russian Roulette. While his posse were apprehensive to play at first they were too dumb to realize the extent Kizu was willing to go. The only thing was Kizu managed to get his hands on an actual unlicensed revolver with a bullet to match. Loading up the chamber and spinning the chamber, he cocked the hammer back and turned the safety off. One by one the angsty high school children passed the gun around sheepishly laughing as the chamber click empty.
It was finally Kizu’s turn and he couldn’t have snatched the gun out of his friends hand faster than the actual bullet in the chamber. With no hesitation or sign of sweat running from his head like the rest he yelled and pulled the trigger. His vision went black, he was falling into darkness while watching his death from the eyes of a passing swallow. The gun had gone off as planned and the bullet pierced his temple leaving a cross shaped wound on his temple and a large perforated exit wound on the opposite end. His eyes were lifeless as his body slumped back while the boys exasperated in fear and disbelief. Even in the mayhem and crisis faced by the boys and the life he was leaving behind, Kizu simply just smiled and prided himself as establishing himself as the ultimate badass of the world of the living. Thinking this was his end and there was nothing on the other side, Kizu accepted his fate. However the world was not yet done with him, at least the soul society was not. Waking up to an unfamiliar world, Kizu was left quite confused as to why he was still alive, when he really wasn’t.
Being reborn as a soul he was thrown to the wolves in the furthest reaches of the Rukongai, District 85 (気兵 Spirit Soldier) was his new home. The outskirts seemed to fit him well, he enjoyed the sight of the barbaric society all around him. The sudden change to more radically traditional japan and the violence and greed surged right through him. Before he could throw himself into the fires of discord he would be adopted by a nearby family. Try as they must they attempted to help Kizu as much as they could trying so desperately to integrate him into their family and quell the rising tide of anger and aggression mounting in the young boy. Eventually Kizu decided to leave and separate himself from them all together not wanting anyone’s help but his own. As he progressed through the slums of Rukongai at the world’s twilight he stumbled upon what appeared to be an underground fight club. The sparkle in his eyes were almost akin to the stars igniting the night sky. Doing first thinking later, Kizu jumped head first at the chance to join said fight club. Adamant at first but quick to turn their heads to a quick buck and the chance of an orphan nobody dying, appealed to the ringmasters. This is where Kizu thrived and the beginning of the formation of his reiatsu and reiryoku began to take shape.
Without realizing it himself with every battle and match he was simultaneously training his body to possess higher Reiryoku and strengthen his Reishi. His body was achieving exceptional spiritual energy which was quite prominently on display on the matches he won so easily. Kizu became the undefeated champion of the fight club and no one dared bet against him. However just as sparrows do, they cannot stay in the same place for longer than needed to. Growing tired and bored of the fight club, Kizu took his winnings and left in search of the next big challenge. No one dared stopped him unless they wanted to face his wrath. Walking from the outskirts to the center of Rukongai he noticed the natural progression of higher echelon living, the world slowly started to remind him of home, and a sparrow will tend to visit their nest. The untamed rabid dog made his way to what appeared to be the Shinigami academy who recognized his overflowing spiritual energy. This was enough to grant him access without a few stipulations first, he had to reform some of his behavior to that of when he was in school and clean up regularly as there were no showers from the outskirts he hailed from.
Eventually Kizu worked his way up to a high ranking seated officer, one next in the selection process to join the ranks of future lieutenants and eventually captains. Kizu didn’t care for the money or the perks of being a Shinigami nor was he too excited about using a Zanpakuto rather than his fists, but he became surprisingly comfortable with the blade and eventually began to prefer it. Besides swords could cut and tear while his fists could only do so much. The rest of his adventure awaits as he joins a group of unruly acquaintances, this would be fun.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— 【Equipment】 Ginjōtan (銀条反, Stripe of Inverted Silver): A steel sash worn under armor, its contributing weight makes it harder for the wearer to move fast. ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— 【Zanjutsu, Reiatsu, and other Talents】 Unremarkable/Average/Impressive/Incredible Reiatsu: Above Average
For the time being having not discovered his Zanpakutō’s name, Kizu relies on the fighting style he had when he was in the fight club and the world of living, only adapted to use a sword instead. Having two short swords or daggers, frees Kizu up to work in short range and close quarters combat. Having been an expert in close quarters with his fists he excels at this type of combat. He’s both explosive and deceptively fast with his attacks. Having removed thought from his distractions his body acts freely and naturally in the flow of combat not having to worry about thinking twice. Having his body react on his own does not mean it’s not susceptible to harm nor does it make one completely aware to their surroundings. Not having to think about his attacks prevents him from slowing down or weakening them. To make up for his absent thought process regarding his surroundings, his battle genius comes into play, utilizing guerrilla tactics and strategies he’s able to subvert most unsettling outcomes, but not all. To make up for his novice talent in hoho, Kizu uses his Ginjōtan to extenuate and augment his natural speed, removing this will make his speed improve amidst the flow of battle, but weaken his overall defense.
Zanpakutō Name: Hien (Flying Swallow) Zanpakutō Spirit Hien Zanpakutō Personality
Hien is quite the opposite of Kizu, which may be why they work so well together. Hien is an androgynous spirit often times not known whether to be male or female, perhaps Hien is neither at all. For now at least, Kizu likes to see Hien as a female akin to his mother. Hien is a bird of freedom, a spirit that cannot endure captivity. This in turn allows Hien to meld with Kizu’s body and mind as if Hien was copiloting his body. Hien is everything Kizu is not, both elegant and graceful like water flowing through a narrow stream. Hien has almost no threshold for becoming agitated, so Hien is not easily or ever flustered in terms of combat or with Kizu’s raging behavior. Having stolen fire from the gods and having a forked tail as punishment, swallows know better than most how to treat a raging fire.
Like Kizu, Hien likes to fly close to the ground and surface while feasting in flight, they fly close to danger and anything else. Hien is a dignified and courageous woman, facing danger without fear, and confidently confronts any challenge she encounters, especially in regards to fighting someone. Hien takes some pride in her fighting ability, and tells Kizu that she doesn't need a youngster like him to win. Hien is constantly portrayed as a brave woman, being able to bluff against most foes. As the master of Kizu, she skillfully employs harsh and apparently life-threatening training for her keeper, and is severe to Kizu, whose antics she doesn't tolerate during his training. Being the de facto leader of Kizu’s powers, she is an authoritative leader and reminds Kizu that his emotions are secondary to their goal of defeating any worthy adversary and rising to the top of the Gotei 13.
Zanpakutō Inner World Original Nest Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance Twin Zanpakutō —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
【Shikai】 Release Command Tsukinukeru Ametsuchi, Hien! (Pierce Through Heaven and Earth, Flying Swallow!) Appearance Shikai Abilities Homing Bullets: The characteristic ability of Hien, and its most dangerous, is its ability to freely control the trajectory of its reishi bullets. Kizu is able to control the bullets with enough precision that he is able to control multiple bullets at once with pinpoint precision. Like a choirmaster controlling an orchestral concert, Kizu can achieve feats which include curving bullets with no apparent lag time, quickly changing the direction of bullets in a U turn fashion, and having them travel through spaces as small as pipes and crevices the size of an average bullet.
Quick Draw: Much like the cowboys from the American wild west, Kizu has adopted the same ideology behind the quick draw. Cowboys were tested on how fast they could unholster their weapon and shoot first before they ended up dead themselves. Wanting to become the fastest gun in the land of the dead, Kizu has mastered the ability to summon his guns directly to his hands. —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Appearance: Hato stands at 5'9 and weighs in at around 155lbs. His purple hair is trimmed short down on the sides and kept a little longer on top, to create a lazy mohawk. The image is pretty accurate.
Personality: Meet your resident lazy swordsman, Hato Shiba. Even though he has a demon of many colors on his back he is the embodiment of sloth. He enjoys wasting away in the sun on a good day and relaxing under a warm blanket on a bad one. After his death, Hato lost his spark, he lost the color in his life and chose to live in a constant state of grey. He feels as though the "life" after death means just as much as life itself, and that you will not amount to any more than you did when you were alive. This thinking is what drove him first into a depression and then into a perma-high of laziness. He is not hard on taking orders and respecting authority comes natural, it is execution he lacks, most of the time the easy way is the best way (in his eyes). Hato would say; "Doing nothing is often the best thing in most situations, who are we to mess with the universe."
The only few times you can get him out of a nap and active is in combat. That flame he used to have while he was alive can be seen in his eyes, small it may be it is still there and comes alive in during the heat in combat. He is still a sloth, cutting corners, fighting dirty, not being an honorable combatant all so he can end things quickly and return to his grey haze. Cheap tricks and out of pocket gimmicks are no strangers to his fighting style, and his lethargic nature drives him to come off as disinterested and disrespectful to his enemies. Most of the time he can be seen yawning and with a rested glaze covering his eyes, in and out of combat. His actions are not a testament to his education or talent, the boy is smart, as reading is one of his few escapes left from his colorful reality, and his skill in some areas of combat cannot be denied but its application and execution that keeps him down.
Biography: Hat's human life was lived in a blaze of passion and color, he felt...well "alive". But after he died and came to the Soul Society he was left with a bitter taste in his mouth and chose to live out the rest of his existence in sleep. Hato woke in West Rukongai and lived out his first few years working little jobs that would only sustain him for weeks at a time and with whoever would take him in. He wanted nothing but to be left alone and to wander endlessly until it was his "time" again. Death at 17 left a bad impression on Hato and this only furthered his resolve to stick with his act of solitude, but that becomes a hard task after meeting the head of the Fallen Shiba clan.
She is a violent and brash woman who rocked Hato's fragile little world, she met him after he left his job and was on his way to find a place to rest his head. It was the middle of the night and from Hato's point of view it looked like she was being assaulted by three different men and something snapped in him, it was as if the little spark that was left in him went into overdrive and forced him into action. Now Hato, being the fool he was, did not know who she was nor could he recognize her strength, so when he made a scene to get their attention and ended up fighting the three of them to protect her "honor", it was all very funny to Kūkaku. What caught her interest was a flare of his reiatsu, he had a strong presence and she wanted that in her clan. After that night she would seek him out, no matter where he worked, and petition him into joining the Shiba Clan until finally, he did. Hato could not stand the constant bother she was and ended giving into woman's request, feeling like a weak fool for his lack of resolve.
His life with the clan was easy enough, he had duties was given an allowance and was not bothered much. Hato did not mind the minor training sessions and accepted most of the things he was taught. He also picked up his habit of reading while he stayed at the Shiba house. What Hato was not aware of was that Kūkaku was preparing him to join the Academy and become a shinigami. He had little interest in it, but Kūkaku had grown on him and become a new "mother" to him, so when she asked that he join, Hato could not refuse the woman who had pulled him out of his black pilgrimage, and into a sort of grey light (which he is still thankful for). On the day he left, Kūkaku gifted him with a purple sash that had their clans mark stitched on it, a memento to help him remember where his home is.
When he was accepted into the academy, Hato felt a sense of joy, something he had not been familiar with in a long time. As his lessons intensified, and training become more rigorous, Hato began to show skill in hakuda and zanjutsu. But his lack of control over his reiatsu slowed his progression. He graduated long after his peers did and without the skill to even use a kidō it was a slim graduation at that. Hato was told that the only reason he passed was due to his skills in other areas and his overwhelming reiatsu, but it was one of is teachers that reminded him that "a large bag of icing is only good if it can be used properly and not make a mess." During his time in training, he grew close to his zanpakuto, Iro no Akuma (even though he prefers not to use her), and it seemed as though she wanted him to graduate more then he did. They went forward and forged a strong bond, strong enough the Iro handicaps herself so Hato can properly use her Shikai.
Now a fresh Shinigami, still without a care in the world, Hata is trying his best to represent his clan and live up to expectations. He knows most think he should not even be in the Gotei 13, but that does not stop him trying to achieve his own personal goals. He wants to master control and for once be of some use to those around him, even that seems better than the lullaby sung by his bed or the seductive touch of his next reading.
Former Life:Hato was raised in a normal two-parent household in Okinawa. He had a younger sister who adored him, parents who tried to make sure he could grow up to be a strong man and take care of himself. Most would think that being surrounded by the pressure of so much love would make diamonds, but in Hato's case, most would be wrong. He hated the looks of love and joy, the happy times and most of all the caring. The was never any spoken reason as to why Hato was just abrasive. He wanted the conflict, the pain, it made people seem more real to him then the "love" he was always getting. As he got older he quickly became a delinquent, fights, ditching class, dying his hair, everything from a-z, until his family had enough. After a normal day of being reprimanded after a fight, Hato went home to find his parents waiting for him. It did not take more than three minutes for an argument to occur, and Hato was loving the wide and frustrated hand gestures, the angry tones, the flame of furry in their eyes. In that moment he thought the color red looked good on his blank parents. After the climax of the argument, Hato left the house (which is normal in this case) and as he was leaving his father called his name while he stood in the middle of the street, unbeknownst to Hato a car was flying down the small road and hit him before he had a chance to register what happened. He died an hour later while in a small hospital in his hometown.
In its sealed state, Iro is a wakizashi with lavender bindings and Hato carries it at his hip.
Inner World & Spirit:
Description: Hato's inner world is a giant lake as far as the eye can see with a that looks close enough to touch and that stays have risen in the sky. At the middle there lies a wooden walkway similar to the design of the Ugendō Quarters in the 13th Division. This walkway makes a square and at the center of this square is a small garden with a cherry blossom tree that stays in bloom. A small bridge connects the wooden walkways to the garden, the walkway forms a square around the garden and the water within the square has koi fish of different colors swimming around. The spirit that dwells within this world is Iro no Akuma. She is a small teenage appearing young girl that always wears brightly colored yakuta and has a glint of mischief in her eyes. She can be seen most time with her umbrella drinking tea under the cherry blossom tree or walking throughout the walkways.
Zanpakuto Personality:
Iro is the representation of Hato's bottled up feelings. She is his vibrant, colorful, attitude that he does to show to everyone else. Iro helps him paint how he feels, the anger, the sadness, the passion, the love. All his feelings are shown through his spirit and her many shades. Iro is not an Akuma for nothing, she can be very mischievous and playful, not really taking things seriously and understanding the severity of the situation. One thing she and Hato share is the sin of sloth, both are lazy and see extra work as unnecessary. The girl loves to fish, one of the reasons Hato's inner world has a koi fish is so that she can fish for them, but she never catches any.
"Kessaku o kaku, Iro no Akuma" ("Paint a Masterpeice, Iro no Akuma")
After speaking the release command, his blade shines and takes on the purple second appearace.
Ability: Iro no Akuma gives Hato the ability to agument his reiatsu with different elemental properties based off of color (i.e red is fire, yellow is air, blue is water). He can currently only apply the fire agumentation and even then due to his large amount of reiryoku and reiatsu he lacks contorl and focus so he ends up causing more harm then not. He has only be able to maintain his reiatsu (with help from Iro) to the extent that he can use Akai Oni (Red Demon), it is a simple slash the exples a large (and wasteful) amount of his augmented reiatsu that burns and scorches whatever it hits.
Abilities: Hato is showing promise as an adept hakuda practitioner and some talent for zanjutsu. His reiryoku and reiatsu are far above average but he lacks focus and this drove him to work harder in other areas so that he could be an asset in some way. Hato prefers to fight up close and personal to his enemies, sometimes even disregarding his zanpakuto altogether (if he does not need it). Despite his preference, Hato is a flexible fighter, often alternating between using his sword and his fist and attempting to catch his enemy off guard. If he can he prefers to end things quickly and smoothly before he is pushed into having to summon Iro. His hohō is average at best and due to his lack of control, he does not even attempt kidō spells.
Weaknesses: One Hato's biggest weaknesses is his lack of control over his reiatsu. This leads to major complications when using his zanpakuto and using any kidō spells. Even though he has an overwhelming amount of reiatsu he lacks the focus and precision it takes to properly manipulate it, this is the reason his progression with his Shikai is slowed and he is only able to use a single color. Aside from this, Hato is a lazy individual with a one-solution-fits-all kind of attitude, he likes to formulate plans on the go and is stubborn to boot. Most of the time making mistakes while going after little objectives instead of looking a the bigger picture.
Other: Iro helps Hato by regulating control over his reiatsu, this limits his ability to use more colors than red, thus stunting the use of his Shikai to its full extent.
@Kaesus Okay so from what I read, your concept and character has interesting idea and dynamic. There are just a few things before it gets fully accepted. First we’d like you to go more in depth with his personality and history, give it some more girth. Secondly; regarding your Shikai, while projectiles are within reason, reishi arrows are in the house of Quincy arts. To circumvent this, the use of real arrows would be preferred. Whether you create a seal to replenish arrows from a pocket dimension or by some other means is up to you. Cheers.

This is a very good character sheet and as a whole it is accepted. However, because of the nature of the zanpakuto you are trying to create, it does have a chance to become very overpowered so I'm going to have to ask you to tread carefully with your progression. However, with that in mind, you're accepted so feel free to post it in the character section.
I'm still waiting on a few people, and I have a few more characters to write up before we can begin. Give it 3 or so days and we'll probably be ready. @KawaiiKyouko
Just going to drop my character sheet here just to flex my incredibly flawed writing and also so that you know that it exists.
R U M I M O R I K O / / A K A N E
Name: Rumi Moriko Gender: Female Age: Visible Age of 17, Actual age of 55 Appearance:
Rumiko stands at 5'3 with a below average weight for her size. She's fairly small and compact, and doesn't really hold an outstandingly athletic or muscular body, rather more of a swimmer or runners figure. She tends to stand out in a crowd fairly easily due to her constant use of flowers in her outfits and her rare features such as her hair and her eyes despite her small stature. She also tends to have bags under her eyes due to her fear of sleep. She also holds exceptionally pale skin.
Personality: Rumi is something of an enigma. Maintaining a blank expression and a voice with no expression, she’s naturally terrible at expressing her emotions and has been her entire life. She herself cannot remember the last time she was able to cry or laugh with something genuine behind it. This has earned her the title of an ice queen, which is partially true. Whilst she’s unable to effectively display and show her emotions, she is not inherently heartless and does possess feelings regardless of whether they come to surface or not.
This in a way reflects her as a whole. When alone, she's able to come to terms with herself but she's still extremely repressed in whatever she does and tends to be extremely awkward. To top these things off, she's fairly blunt in most of her statements due to her inherent inability to read the situation of a room or empathise with peoples emotions well. This leads to many of the things she says being wildly inappropriate, insensitive or comical. She often finds herself as a rather confused comedian, not understanding why people end up laughing at any statements she says given that they usually never have the intent to make someone laugh. She's also developed a crippling fear of falling asleep, leading her to become something of a night owl.
Rumi, despite not really having much of an emotional side to her however finds great joy in a number of hobbies. She tends to sing when alone and finds great joy in merely relaxing and taking in the scenery. She also enjoys watching good swordsmanship. Given as it is her primary form of expression due to her inability to communicate well, it may be the only time someone sees her doing more than a blank expression. Despite this however, she distastes loud noises and formal social gatherings immensely due to the manner that she is usually required to present herself in. She's pretty relax as far as presentation and doesn't hold feelings like pride into account given that's just the type of person she is, though she does find great joy in putting flowers in her hair and around her outfit due to finding natural beauty in them.
Biography: Rumi awoke from her supposedly eternal sleep in the Seireitei. Except, everything was missing. Her entire being felt completely empty and she couldn't quite understand why. Every time she tried to speak, she found herself unable to produce more than a whisper and she spent days looking for her parents before she collapsed due to hunger. She was luckily present in a high area of the Rukongai and as a result it didn’t take long for somebody to find her body.
She awoke in what seemed to be a spare room with a piece of bread and water next to her. By all accounts, she was lucky to be alive but she didn’t feel that way. She wanted to cry but the tears simply wouldn’t swell up and leave her eyes, and she wanted to feel sad but she didn’t feel anything at all except for a gaping hole in her heart, leading her to question what had happened to her. Why couldn’t she feel anything.
The ones that had taken in Rumi temporarily didn’t exactly leave her much room to find out. They figured that she obviously held potential with the Reiatsu, as was evident by her requirement for food and it seemed to them as if they could get something out of this. Disguising opportunity with kindness, they figured they could make a name off of this if she was sent to the Spiritual Arts Academy. However, she was naught but a little girl with no combat experience and inexperience in the soul society, so it was a huge gamble. One that they weren't willing to make unless she was able to get some experience under her belt. So, using their fairly large resources as a minor house, opted for her to be trained by a soul reaper relative after a few years.
She of course, had no idea what was happening and frankly couldn't bring herself to care. She was thankful that they had saved her life, but she didn't exactly have the ability to feel much appreciation for them anymore and all she could muster was a mild thank you before being sent to her new home for the next 3 or so years, the middle of nowhere. Deep in the woods of a early number area of the Rukongai was where she'd find herself, facing someone from the soul society that she had never met before. She was handed a sword and immediately they begun training, where Rumi quickly got the idea of what was happening.
After they'd settled, the Shinigami introduced himself to her and explained the situation. She didn't quite care, to be honest. She didn't really have the will to carry on living, the only thing that was keeping her alive was sheer curiosity to see if she could find what was missing in her heart and the Shinigami had promised her that she'd find something in the soul society. Whilst she wasn't excessively motivated, it kept her from giving up altogether.
One thing that the swordsman had noticed was the ridiculous rate of progression that he felt from Rumi. She wasn't exceptionally gifted with reiatsu or her strength as a whole but her swordsmanship was ridiculously impressive considering how little she'd practiced with a weapon, and how veteran-like her moves were. In his mind, she was ready a whole 2 years earlier than they anticipated and he figured that this was a prospect that the soul academy couldn't pass up on.
He was right. Although her spiritual pressure, strength, stamina and conditioning weren't exceptional, they took great note of her rate of learning and they figured they could make diamonds out of coal in this scenario. She was put in a class below the bottom and as a result, this irritated her. The first time she'd felt a sense of emotion in a long time, she then grew to have something of a chip on her shoulder, regardless of how little she cared. It gave her something to strive for and that was something that she desperately needed.
Her process throughout the academy was not enjoyable for either parties. Teachers were irked off about her seemingly uncaring attitude, and she was annoyed that she wasn't finding what she was promised. She was progressing at an admirable rate, and at this point her conditioning had come to very bad instead of completely inexcusable to a soul reaper. She managed to pick up select Kido, but the main thing that people were enamoured with was her swordplay, which was the main reason that she was accepted in the first place and would come to be the reason she graduated.
Admittedly, it took her 7 years to graduate which was slightly above the average clip but excellent considering her age. Now away from what she considers one of the worst periods of her life, she's trying to find her purpose and the answers she was promised by that shinigami all those years ago.
Former Life: Rumi was born to a fairly average family in Kyushu. They were both occupied as florists for a local town and Rumi was an only child of sorts. She was vastly different before entering the soul society, being a much more vocal, hotheaded, vibrant person as a whole. Still, she found great pleasure in her quiet time and enjoyed long walks in the local forest, often at dangerous night hours. She often found herself lying down and gazing down at the stars. She was however quite sickly as a child and prone to illness, leading to her demise at the age of 14. After taking a long stroll to a nearby lake, she simply fell unconscious and never woke up.
【Zanpakutō】
Zanpakutō Name: Akane Zanpakutō Spirit Akane Zanpakutō Personality Akane is vastly different to what Rumi currently is, and is in essence the old version of Rumi. Possessing a vast array of vibrant emotions, sarcasm, and rage, it's almost as if she is the repressed feelings that Rumi truly holds deep in her heart. She tends to be quite talkative to Rumi, much more so than other Zanpakuto and their connection grows by the minute. She's far more competitive than Rumi and tends to be the thing that pushes her to have a go. Zanpakutō Inner World Twilight Orchard Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance Zanpakuto ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— 【Shikai】 Release Command Akaruku kagayaku, Akane(Flash Brightly, Deep Red Anger) Appearance As seen in picture. The blade turns a deep intense red, whilst the handle increases in intricacy, becoming something of a mix between a rapier and a longsword. It's slightly longer than the average zanpakuto. Abilities Rumi, as of right now has no idea what her Zanpakuto's true ability is, nor does she possess the reiatsu to use it, so it is useless for her to even try without raising her spiritual pressure first. As of right now, the heat of the blade when she uses it increases as the battle goes on, and occasionally a flare of reiatsu will spike whenever she crosses it with another but nothing has come to fruition yet, —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Abilities: Highly Adept Zanjutsu, Above Average Hado + Average Bakudo. Rumi has incredible progression on her swordplay. Every day she gets better and better, and the level she's already at now is on par with most seated officers by most definitions. That, combined with her above average prowess at Hado makes for a deadly skillset of weaving kido into her combat patterns, making her wildly unpredictable and nigh impossible to plan against. Weaknesses: She has a below average reiatsu that has little to no presence and does not hold much skill at all with the flash step due to her body being physically incapable of managing it. Her physical conditioning in comparison to other shinigami is atrocious given that she is both a child and a sickly child at that, making it hard for her to battle for large extended periods of time. She also is fairly unwilling to go out of her way to win and isn't exceptionally competitive Theme: Light of Nibel Kido Spellbook:
Appearance: Juliet stands 5'1, and weighs 112 lbs. Her hair is naturally razor straight and goes down to her lower back.
Personality: Juliet, upon first greetings comes off as an extroverted individual whose quick to become friends with anyone she comes across, and even quicker to let things go and forgive all wrongs. She appears to naturally be able to project an easy-going nature which seems to say in bright neon letters "relax, you are in good company." However, this is really just a costume she's created. In reality, Juliet is a very introverted individual who enjoys her solitude, and has a very hard time letting go of the majority of slights against her. The reason why she wears her 'masks' is because she's found it to be the easiest way to deal with life in a society.
That is not to say that Juliet hates everything about living in a world covered with humans (in one form or another) as she's a big fan of a lot of the popular media, especially film, and literature, or anything involving a good story. She's also a fan of video games, and puzzles of every shape and variety. Possibly the greatest surprise, at least to those who know who Juliet is under all the masks, is that she's truly a fan of multiplayer games as she loves to test her intelligence against others, especially if the others in question were responsible for some insult in the past. The only thing Juliet enjoys more than absorbing media, or playing games is creating her own. She's an advent writer, constantly creating stories of various length and type, which she hopes to someday publish, and possibly made into a movie. Although, the actually quality of the stories has been questionable as Juliet, though an imaginative and capable writer, doesn't exactly possess competent editing skills. Though, she will admit they're maybe a little bit better than her Zanjutsu abilities, but not by much.
Juliet is a very proud individual who'd rather pretend her short comings didn't exist, all of which tend to focus on the physical side. Therefore, as a way to protect her pride, she tends to favor using her mental abilities almost completely. This has led her to excel at debating, strategy, philosophy, literature, sociology, physics, history, critical thinking and problem solving, as well as just amassing a mountain of useless facts. While she tends to do terribly at nearly anything having to do with her physical body.
Biography: In her youth, Juliet's temper and feeling of superiority constantly got her into trouble. She was either leading children into situations they had no right being in, or somehow turning the others against her thanks to a miscalculation in her part. Which was all fine and good until one day she talked several of her friends to try and capture a hollow which was supposedly spotted within a lawless district. The good news was it wasn't a hollow. The bad news is it was a rogue shinigami and just as dangerous as any hollow. Juliet was able to buy some time, distracting their opponent but not much. In the end, she found herself alone (all her friends being smart enough to run away) and at the end of a blade. If not for pure dumb luck, Juliet and her friend would've all been killed. Thankfully, a team of shinigamis were able to get to them in time. Which the leader, after a long hard scolding, talked Juliet into trying to enter the shinigami academy, which she did.
Juliet flourished in the academy, at least for most parts. Her brilliant mind quickly helped her rise to the top of her class, or would've if not for her failure at Zanjustu and hand to hand combat. HOwever, her physical skills were so bad, after everything was tallied up, she ended up finding herself with the grades of an average student.
Former Life: In her previous life Juliet lived alone with her grandfather, who was nice most of the times, but was a mean drunk. He died when she was very young and so she bounced around foster care for some time before finally becoming eighteen and setting off on her own. She died after starving in some large woods because she was certain she could make it out on her own and didn't need to resort to calling for help.
【Zanpakutō】
Zanpakutō Name: Anansi Shiro inku no(of the white ink)
Zanpakutō Spirit
Zanpakutō Personality Anansi is much more laid back and easy going than Juliet. He enjoys many of the same things she does, but he loves them simply for the entertainment they possess, never as a means of proving ones superiority over others. He's constantly teasing Juliet and playing tiny pranks on her. Zanpakutō Inner World
【Shikai】 Release Command Spin your web Appearance Upon the initial release Anansi's shikai takes the form of a small, metallic spider that's about an inch in diameter, which is capable of moving independently of Juliet. Note-Anansi's shape and size changes as its shikai increases in level. Abilities While Anansi's shikai is active, the spider is constantly feeding off Juliet's spiritual pressure, and so grows in size and ability the longer its out.
Stage 1 Anansi has access to the following abilities: Movement-despite the tiny size of the shikai, Anansi is capable of rapidly covering large areas in a relatively short amount of time. Fangs-Due to the level in which Anansi's power is condensed in its shikai form, the fangs are surprisingly sharp. Venom-In it's shikai form Anansi produces a special type of venom that causes paralysis. Although, initially the venom does come off as weak due it not being very potent, it is extremely dangerous as it increases in volume by mixing with spiritual power of whoever its injected into. That is to say, the more spiritual power flowing through a bitten entity, the quicker it will take effect and leave said entity unable to move. -Due to the unique nature of Anansi's venom, Juliet is capable of mixing it with her own kido in order to add its paralytic effect to any of her spells. Though, by this method the effect is much weaker and doesn't expand with the user's spiritual power as it would if injected.
Abilities: Juliet is an expert at Kido, easily capable of spells level fifty or lower without the need for the incantation. She's also halfway decent at shunpo. However, her real strengths aren't her physical abilities, but her mental faculties, which on all counts, should never be underestimated.
Weaknesses: -Juliet has basically no skills in zanjutsu or hakuda. -Her zanpakuto starts off relatively weak with limited abilities and constantly limits what she's capable of in terms of kido, which is her specialty. -The biggest drawback to Anansi's released form is that it is constantly consuming Juliet's spiritual pressure. The higher its stage, the more power it'll draw, thus lowering her overall effectiveness with kido. At its base form it draws about 20% of Juliet's energy output, and an additional 20% at every ascending stage. -Juliet cannot control her shikai's stages as its leveling up happens automatically. -Currently, Juliet isn't capable of producing enough spiritual power to reach any further than Anansi's initial shikai release
Theme: I'll think of this later
Other: Juliet prefers to keep her zanpakuto in its released state as its one less thing to have to carry , and usually keeps it located on her left wrist.
Personality: There is a sort of regal permanence to Naoko's demeanor which is noted as something of a change compared to her previous life where she was much more humble and modest. Naoko strives to present herself as upstanding and dependable person but on the flip-side of her convincing herself that she is a model Shinigami, she often holds others with contempt especially if they seem like the type to be Naoko's opposite. The result of this is that she often times has trouble establishing deeper companionship with others as she can be very critical of another's actions while also being vocally opposed to others being critical of her. Naoko has a high ambition and a strong sense of perseverance that often times leads to further complications with others, mainly through her aggressive and assertive nature.
Of course through all of that, hints of Naoko's former attitude exist. She remains rather lonely, often the product of accidentally pushing others away from stubbornness and although sometimes difficult, it feels natural to be by herself. There is also still a quiet appreciation of art and any expression of that in others is likely to draw her attention and admiration, and surprisingly, even if it is bad, she can still find the attempt endearing.
Former Life: A Tokyo native in the modern era, Naoko had previously and will always have an attachment to art and she was rather remarkable at all kinds of fine arts. Even at a young age, her imagination being brought to the canvas had often captivated others. She was often recognized officially by committees and competitions and had won many awards in her teenage years. Many believed she was destined to have a bright future ahead of herself with her magnificent talent. Tragically in her early adulthood she died unexpectedly in fashion that had left many to wonder whether she had killed herself, had fallen victim to chance, or something more malicious was committed against her. She died in a car accident when her vehicle went off the road.
Biography: Following Naoko's first death, her soul would pass onto to the next life. From there, Naoko did what felt natural and continued to illustrate and paint to make a living in this new life. Unfortunately due to the rather barbaric conditions of the poorer outskirts, namely Rukongai District 85, there wasn't a lot of interest. Of course it wasn't exactly the fault of the district population. Naoko's artistic talent had left her, cursed by the feeling of crippled fingers. She could barely write her name. At first she suspected it was some weird carry-over effect from her car accident but even if that was the case, she quickly despaired thinking she was doomed to some miserable existence in this life for some reason or another.
Existence in the outer district was a lonely affair, with Naoko's closed, peaceful nature not awarding her with many companions in this new and tough rugged world. Unsure of how things worked, she refused any offer of adoption, clinging to the idea that maybe her parents could find her, leaving her on her own.
However there was one that offered the crippled artist companionship but not only that, he offered her protection and even encouragement. A rough and ferocious man that appeared around her age. It was through this relationship that the timid Naoko managed to build some backbone and some fire to match this depraved district. More importantly, he helped Naoko battle through her crippled finger conditions by challenging her to push through that feeling of being crippled. Surprisingly, she was starting to find the ability to push through it and as a consequence, her Reiryoku and Reishi began to build from the sheer willpower.
As time passed, she grew alongside her friend as he fought in pit fights and she tagged along, often times painting portraits of his exploits in practice. Eventually they were only phantoms to the rest of the souls and began to wander the Soul Society until they found their next purpose in life. The Shinigami offered something to both of them, him a way to fight and prove himself and her, the familiarity of higher society and reprieve from disparity, but also a since of greater purpose. The two joined the Shinigami Academy and eventually passed, using each other as a strong motivator to advance.
Zanpakuto: Owari no Subete, Uchūjin (End of All, Space Alien)
Self-described as the "Broken Lord", Uchūjin appears to be some sort of vapor possessing a suit of advanced armor supplemented by elaborately embroidered cloth. It is twice the size of Naoko with all of its armor on. Its voice is described as a echo and despite sounding low and intimating, Naoko believes that Uchūjin is quite gentle but seemingly sad and lonely.
Uchūjin's world is something that always reminded Naoko of the western castles on earth but with more gloom to it. Dark clouds blot out the sun and the only lights are the faint blue lanterns that glow in the buildings and the grand glowing pillar setting at the top of the castle. The design of the futuristic device emitting the light looks strangely out of place in this sort of medieval looking world.
Sealed, Uchūjin appears like an regular katana with the exception of a pommel that has an elaborately detailed carving of jeweled-eyed hawk. Unsealed, Uchūjin appears like something otherworldly. The material of the hilt, pommel, and guard are all made of metal with the hawk symbol reappearing. The blade has a slight curve emerging from a hawk's mouth. The metal composition of its pieces are considered an unknown alloy for all parts with the blade having the only unique property. The blade emits a strange cosmic-like vapor where many compare it to seeing the night sky when Naoko channels her Reiatsu to her Zanpakuto. The vapor appears to consume the blade as careful study showed that small sections of the blade would evaporate away. However, the vapor quickly dissipates and the blade regenerates. Naoko believes that even though she has not discovered the full potential of her Shikai, she may be close to a potential breakthrough.
Abilities: Her greatest strength is a near-adept level of skill with Kido with a stronger understanding of Bakudo over Hado. Her Kaido is right at the level that is expected of a seated officer of the 4th Division. Otherwise, Naoko is surprisingly quick witted, inventive, and clever which lends itself more often than what people give credit for. Fairly surprising Reiatsu levels and durability, too.
Weaknesses: The rest of Naoko's abilities leave a lot to be desired. Her Zanjutsu is maybe average at best but falls below average when considering the Shinigami in total. Her Hoho and by extension, Hakuda, talents are lacking with recorded academy performances that placed her in the lower 30% of class.
