Personality: If one of his squad members were to describe Isao, it would be stern but patient. He's a no-nonsense type of guy who holds a very adult, businesslike mentality to his every day life and to his duties as a Shinigami. He falls very heavily into the lawful neutral scale of things and sees everything as more of a judge rather than a person, often hanging his true feelings out to dry in order to try and uphold the justice, whether that is right or wrong. Despite this, he still holds a pretty stern code of honour regarding combat despite being a captain and he upholds this at all times, regardless of his opponent.
In some sense, Isao is perceived as kind of like a robot, but this is far from the truth. Whilst he puts the rules of the soul society above everything else in his life, he is still a real person and this is notable when he has had a good drink. Alcohol tends to release his true thoughts and feelings and the rigid, cold attitude that he usually holds dissipates. He becomes much friendlier and far more open about his feelings/thoughts towards other people, regardless of how it happens. His filter is essentially removed after he has consumed a particular amount of alcohol.
Isao also opens up around his younger relatives. His younger siblings/cousins/nephews/nieces are all precious people to him and he can often be found playing games with them to keep them entertained. This carries over beyond just family to older children, as he has grown a soft spot as he has aged. Beyond this, Isao has very strong feelings. He strongly dislikes those who are lazy and do not seek to improve, and tends to favour hard workers.
Biography: ?(will be added onto once the first arc starts)
Former Life: Isao was a samurai in feudal japan. He suffered fatal injuries in a battle where most of his comrades died. Prior to the death, he was a bit of a philanthropist for his time and had a fairly vast family.
【Zanpakutō】
Zanpakutō Name: Ryōken(Hound)
Zanpakutō Spirit Zanpakutō Personality Ryōken's personality is definitely moreso on the true side of Isao. Whilst maintaing a less than appealing outer image, it is definitely more on the playful side and enjoys a variety of children's games such as hide and seek and other such things.
However, it is more sinister than Isao in the sense that it definitely revels in combat and enjoys crushing and grinding the opponent down with superior strength and ability. It definitely plays more of a sidekick role to Isao however and acts more like a pet toward him than a fellow being like the other zanpakuto, being loyal to a fault in that instance. Zanpakutō Inner World The Wilds Sealed Zanpakutō Appearance Zanpakuto —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
【Shikai】 Release Command Funsai suru, Ryōken! (Crush them to dust!)
Appearance: Appearance is as seen in the appearance picture with a slightly smaller blade.
Abilities Ryoken is a primarily combat based Zanpakuto. It is not kido based and as a result does not hold many special abilities. However, it does hold unique properties that makes it effective in it's first release. Firstly, Ryoken posses a moving blade. It cannot be seen by the human eye as it is constantly vibrating and grinding together thousands of times per second allowing for much easier cutting. The second property is that the blade slowly turns whatever it touches to dust as long as it maintains contact due to the first property. This is lessened with Zanpakuto but still present. —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Appearance: A standard built human with a pale complexion, and short cut choppy messy black hair Wallace appears rather un-intimidating at first glance. He sports no discernible scars, and isn't remarkably handsome in the slightest only being described as slightly above average by some. He wears standard shinigami garb for his rank, and doesn't tend to shy away from traditional clothes that suit his station. His eyes are a dull shaded hazel, and he stands in at about 5'11 making him discernibly average. Though where he differs is a modest amount of muscle underneath his clothes as he had spent his life training to be as powerful as he could.
Personality: Though usually laid back, and somewhat lazy in attitude in truth Wallace is willing to push himself to the limit to accomplish what he must. He is not weak willed, or easily frightened though he doesn't relish challenges. He constantly seeks to better himself to make himself more than he was before but he doesn't crave power for the sake of it in a corrupted sense. He wishes simply to improve himself further. He is often not one to enforce rules in themselves believing most rules are guide lines to be followed only at the expense of one's true emotions. If one rule conflicts with something, and is not truly important he is willing to let it slide. Though for more serious rules he understands that they must be enforced. He is loyal, and respectful but not always kind, and forgiving. While he is willing to follow someone he may also be willing to cut them down if circumstances change. Though not treacherous he believes that the individual is more important than the group. He follows the person leading him not the people following the safe path. He believes deep down loyalty can be faulted, and proved to be a mistake if given to the wrong person. But given to someone worthy of it then it becomes something beautiful akin to a sakura tree in bloom.
When in a fighting scenario he is much more blunt, and dangerous victory becomes more of a priority to him than fairness, or brotherhood the enemy in front of him becomes the target of his unrelenting force. He wishes, and hopes for a day that his blades won't need to be turned on a good person. He views those with darkness in their souls to be truly dangerous as they are unpredictable, and possibly the most at risk of being monsters. He doesn't battle purely for the thrill but because he believes it is the best way he can find himself through his zanpakuto.
Other than that one can expect a fairly casual, and simple man who wishes to simply life his after life to its best, and most useful extent.
Biography: After being welcomed into the Soul Society young Wallace decided to leave his last name behind and take up the last name 'Hakuno' in order to establish something for himself. He wanted to disconnect his old life from his new one in this new world. Living in the Rukongai he spent his new life as an earnest man and thus set out to be hired by a shopkeeper in town. Though initially wanting to avoid the governing staff that the after life held Wallace held himself firm not allowing himself to be intimidated by local thugs, and scoundrels. It took awhile but he found some measure of peace learning the ways of the people here he wanted to make this next life worth something just like his old one. Though he wondered if he could measure up to it completely. Eventually his quiet life was boring him in its tendencies to become like a rut, and he decided to train himself more thoroughly.
Learning what it meant to be a shinigami was a difficult affair for him as he tried to train his body for the endeavor thoroughly. Though he had grown stronger than he had in the human world he wasn't satisfied with that. His training was hard, and often failure was more frequent than success but hard work is the measure of a man's determination. Though it took him a long time for him to figure out how to properly use his Reiatsu in order to pass the needed requirements to enter the academy he didn't falter in his attempts. It was a difficult thing for him to understand the concept of spiritual pressure. He more readily identified with brute force than his own spiritual side.
The time in the academy was good to him he learned easier with the assistance of others in the academy. Often it took him less time to learn with the assistance of an ally than it did by his own lonesome. He was quickly recognized for his almost savant when it came to sword fighting. He easily outclassed the majority of the class in his deft speed, and adamant refusal to be defeated in a contest of blades. Though he quickly found himself more at ease with twin blades, or staffs than he did with his singular blade. His ability to use his reiatsu increased but not exponentially. Though he was at least average in most regards he exceeded others in his Zanjutsu which had grown a fearsome reputation for being quick, and dangerous. Unlike some who sought to overwhelm the opponent Wallace turned his focus into counter attacking the opponents. His specialty was overwhelming them with a flurry of movement when they made a mistake in their form, or putting his opponent into a unrelenting assault in an attempt to bring them to their knees through attrition. He tended to fail however when it came to his Kido. It was not a form that came naturally to him and he struggled with it learning what he could in order to supplement his weaknesses.
When he was assigned to the soul society he was founded to have a rarer form of Zanpakutō. His inner soul was different than some split into two separate entities with two different personalities. Though Wallace was not known for his personality splits he was notable in that he seemed to be more cruel when it came to actually fighting another person. Perhaps it was always there somewhere deep inside of him, and simply dying had brought out a difference between being a hero, and being the victor. Being defeated had always been a concept that disgusted Wallace. Though he knew better than to be a sore loser for it led to unnecessary fights. Taking his place in the soul society he has simply now been complying with command awaiting a chance to become stronger.
Former Life:
Born in a small rural town in America young Wallace's life wasn't anything out of the ordinary. His parents were martial artists, and his grand parents were both standard nuclear families. Wallace's life was short, and one that he lived without regret. He didn't have much in the way of ambition but he was full of passion. He wanted to make his life count. He wanted to make a difference if not just a small one. Though he didn't crave it for power, or fame he just wanted to make the world a better place than he left it. Though this was not to be. As a young college aged adult he died, and passed onto the soul society after saving his friend, and a stranger from a crazed man who thought the government was brain washing the town. He died jumping the killer and got shot through the head. He died without regrets.
Zanpakuto: Matsumune, and Makaze
Matsumune
Makaze
A standard of well balance Katana swords that are used in unison. The handles are bound in black, and white covering to differentiate the two. Matsumune is the white katana wielded in the left hand (though the weapons are interchangeable if needed), and is shiner. It holds a more regal, and refined look than its counterpart. It shines when light is reflected off of its smooth blade. It makes a cleaner swifter noise when it cuts through the air than Ikeda.
Makaze on the other hand is bound with blood red cloth, and its hilt is black. Its blade doesn't reflect light like its counter part, and seems to be dirtier than its counterpart though it is not in actuality disgusting to look at just less brilliant in nature. It looks the same as its twin in appearance and can be used in the dominate right hand. It makes a more blunt, and forceful noise when swung in the air.
"Singing Twin Swallows that brings with them the Lightning Storm of Demise...Matsumune! Makaze! Rain divine rage onto the unworthy!"
Though not mastered yet Wallace's entrance into Shikai is marked with the blades changing shades becoming more like each other in appearance. They become wrapped in lightning though to what extent his Shikai can go is not yet known to Wallace.
Abilities: Savant Level Zanjutsu, Talented Hoho Fighter, Average Hakuda. Fair early, and mid fight adaption.
Breakdown: The main form that Wallace relies on is quick, but not light footed movements that attempt to blitz, and overwhelm the enemy. However they are also not lacking in the strength department either. Zanjutsu is the main talent that Wallace holds as his strongest, and he had made sure to not fall flat on his face due to either poor speed, or strength training both to his best extent. However he is still not a match for those who rely purely on overwhelming power, and he has issues keeping up with the quickest foes though that does not mean he isn't a match for either if it comes down to it. He attempts to subvert, and overwhelm the enemy using one of his swords are a diversion allowing him to getting in either light blows, or finishing shots. However without his swords his abilities are majorly hampered. His fist fighting techniques are enough to get him by but nothing worth writing home about.
Despite this his ability to adapt in the early, and mid fight allow him to be a dangerous opponent as he is able to size up, and power through most opponents he comes across through deadly blade work, and endurance. His ability to take blows is notable in that only the most grievous wounds will really put him down if it comes to it but it is not quite to the point where it is a death blow, or nothing. His defense is just as strong as his offense when it comes to it seeing as he has put as much work as possible into his footwork, and style he did not neglect his defensive style. Though he is no wall, or unstoppable dervish he is not a foe to take lightly if on a power scale near him.
Weaknesses: Below Average Kido Abilities, poor ability to invoke natural Reiatsu, and not notable for strategically adapting late fight.
Breakdown: Reiatsu, and Kido abilities were always an issue for Wallace. His abilities were not simply easily called upon. He knows few kido, and only then each is only used to supplement what he can't do with his blades. He doesn't tend to invoke his inner spiritual power because of this, and relies on his swords, and fists to deal with the enemies in front of him. This makes him a easy foe for those who are more able to use the energy they had made against him. In the late fight he starts to lose his bag of tricks. If he fails to overwhelm his opponent by the time wounds have started to set in, or his energy runs low Wallace becomes greatly less of a threat. He has likely exhausted most of his own tricks. Though thanks to his All-Rounder skill set he can still pose at least a viable threat assuming the enemy is in a similar state to himself.
Due to her dislike for the official shinigami kimono look, she's long decided to do it her own way. Tying up the torso-part of the robe around her waist, she instead keeps a sleeve-less tunic on show. Think like this, just with the official shinigami uniform instead of the mechanic pants:
Personality: At first glance, Mia seem to be cold and harsh. Her speech mannerism holds an overarching sarcastic and insulting tone, as if she constantly speaks down to people. Because of this she tends to struggle forming friendly relations, and people seem to distrust her as well. Not that it bothers her a lot, instead she simpe assumes them to be fools or whatever else one might imagine. However this is just the way she is to people she doesn't know, as a way to ward people off. Instead, when she actually is able to form a meaningful relationship with someone, she changes drasticly. Her offensive tone is exchanged with a cheerfully friendly one, her scowling turns to smiles. Nothing really stops her from protecting those she holds dear, even if that includes murder, kidnapping or whatever else. Warding them off with a cold glare which allows her time to properly judge the person and see if he or she fits their group. Thanks to this, she's an extremely reliable person in intent, always doing what she believes is best for her and the people she cares for. Even if that includes going against the laws of the Gotei 13, her captain or anything similar. If they make choices she finds problematic, she'll aduibly sound her dislike for the decision and instead urge a different path.
She's a hopeless romantic as well, the very idea of love between people is something she much shows enthusiasm for. If she sees anyone or hears of anyone in love, she'll start to plot in the shadows on how she can help that happen. And with her unlimited knowledge of romance from her books, she'll find a way, no matter what. Failure is not an option. Despite usually ending in it.
She isn't afraid of much, scoffing at the idea of it more often than not, considering she's a firm believer that a good plan can overcome the greatest of adversities. She constantly seek to challenge her tactical mind as well as her kido, finding much comfort in the idea of being a support unit in battle. And for that purpose she's willing to use every tool in the box, using traps, baits and what else to ensure victory. Very much a fan of dirty tricks in fights, honorable fighting is to her just foolishness, as ensuring every advantage over the opponent is far superior to walking off with a gash across the belly but with a smile of self-satisfied pride. She'd much rather leave battle with all troops alive and with the enemy utterly defeaated by tactical tripwires or anything similar.
In everyday business, it is common to see her either train her skills or sit under a tree reading a book. Her love for reading is fairly known, Mia does not hide it, and she often start to talk about any book she's read in a common discussion. She also loves particular kinds of seafood like bluefin tuna sushi, an element that she's brought along from her time alive, as well as various deserts to please her sweettooth. Chess and shogi are games she love to play as they challenge her wit and mind, and she's often seen playing with either herself or anyone else or discussing tactics, openings and the like. She dislikes anyone talking down her hobbies, disliking it enough to the level she might proclaim the person to be an enemy of hers until the end of day. She's quite animated in that sense. She also quite dislikes people similar to her, the twofaced people or the arrogant types, as the discussions will be far too boring. She also really dislikes anyone that to her seem like show-offs. Games that involve physics like football and such, she scoffs at. Calling it sports for simple minds.
Biography: Brought to Seireitei in the East Rukongai district 79, her initial beginning to afterlife was less than desirable. The people there were all sad, poor alcoholics that thrived on self-deprecation and hate. And so the soul of the former human had to find her spot in this unforgiving world through theft, manipulation, feats of strength and the like. There went no single day without her ending in a brawl, and many times she got the short stick of it considering her lacking powers. She eventually learned that her reiatsu was refined and thus she began training to control it all by herself. Successful in this feat she was, without any aid she managed to master the use of Kido #1 Sai. A good help to her life of theft.
Eventually came the day when the people in her district began to accept her. Perhaps out of necessity thanks to her newfound abilities with Kido, but that was no matter. She managed to form a little unit of bandits that quickly began to roam. Her wave of influence in the area increased and more and more joined her bandit force. They stole, they murdered, they raped, all to ensure her a good life. Yet within her she felt hollow and sad, she didn't mind the constant fight for survival per say, she did however struggle with the murdering. Unnecessary deaths are indeed unnecessary in her eyes. Yet she swallowed her distaste for her own actions and kept going until the one day the Gotei 13 marched to stop her rampage. It didn't take the soldiers long to split her force and break it down, yet she remained. Her kido mastery was so high for an untrained civilian that she was capable of restraining three soul reapers, enough for the leading officer to instead of putting her down, he recruited her. And so started her time in the Seireitei.
Call it a stroke of luck, she wouldn't care. Now she could instead do something more tasteful than senseless rampage as a bandit leader. Her time in the academy was a good one. Although her sword mastery was without doubt lacking, it mattered little in the face of her kido mastery. Within the few years she was present, she managed to master kido up to the 50's, and even manage to use semi-high level kido like Rikujokoro. The grades were accordingly, and she was pretty highly sought after due to her expertize. Given that she easily found herself in the Gotei 13 after graduation, she seemed to be pretty satisfied with herself. Yet she knew she could do more, and so she spent her first few years in the Gotei practicing shunpo exclusively. Every day she worked on her speed, and she simply went faster and faster. Her zanpaktou however, was sidelined. She knew her swordsmanship would never reach a great level, so she ignored the sword by her side. It took her far longer than most to discover that the sword actually had it's own conciousness. Even longer for her to discover it could speak. And mucch longer than that for her to unlock the Shikai form of the blade. And now she seeks a path into Squad 2.
Former Life: Mia was a court lady during feudal Japan, spending her time performing exhausting tea ceremonies and the like. The draw of shogi was there even then, but given the social issues tied to a female playing that game, she was disallowed to play by her husband. And one day, a warlord came to visit, turned out her husband had been trying to rouse the locals to overthrow the local government... and she was the one that had to perish for her husband to escape.
Zanpakuto: Mia has the dual-sided dagger-type zanpaktou, aptly named "Shizukana Yoru". Her shikai release phrase goes like this: "Shred the Light, Shizukana Yoru"
Abilities: A kido adept, expertizing in use of Bakudo based kido especially, and an adept shunpo user. Capable of using kido up to the 50's without incantation, 60's with full incantation. Proficient strategist, and exceptionally stealthy.
Weaknesses: Terrible swordplay abilities, poor at direct frontline combat in general. Like, downright useless. With or without a blade in hand, she's equally useless.
"To uphold justice and punish those who defy it. To protect Seireitei and annihilate those who seek to harm it. That is what the Gotei 13 is for! That is what being a Shinigami means!"
Name: Baili (she doesn't have a surname)
Gender: Female
Age: Visible age = 20, actual age = 144
Appearance: Baili has straight, dark brown hair that looks black when not under light which she keeps short in a messy bob-cut, the end of the longest strands falling just shy of the top of her shoulders. She takes after her mother in her mortal life regards to facial features and lithe body structure. She has high cheekbones and an oval face that ends in a sharp and pointed chin, framed by short side-fringes that are just a little longer than the rest of her hair. Her fairly-even-but-jagged forehead fringe is parted to the left and stops just above her slightly arched eyebrows, high enough not to get into her eyes when she does vigorous activities, or merely tilts her head down. She has a straight nose, thin, firm lips that are faintly pink and a strong jawline, making her more handsome than pretty. Her eyes are gunmetal-blue, staring piercingly out from under heavy-lidded eyelids, giving her a consistently bored look, as though she is always a minute away from dozing off.
She can add excellent flexibility and muscle control to her physical attributes. Due to her short height and legs (standing at 165cm (5'5") and weighing 50kg), Baili has gotten used to needing to keep pace with people with longer strides than her, thus, her steps are always brisk and purposeful. Not to mention, her posture is ramrod straight no matter if she sits or stands as she wishes to appear taller. Her height is something of a sore spot due to her family members all being a good few inches taller, their teasing not really helping her slight complex.
Personality: Baili has many different aspects to her personality. She is often serious, maintaining a bland expression which can turn into a sharp scowl if faced with something – or someone – she dislikes. Most of her insults make her sound like a grumpy old man, courtesy of Sabaku no Hogo-sha. As someone who does not like to be under the spotlight, she tries to appear bland and unassuming. Her common looks, unmodified Shinigami uniform allows her to fade into the sea of people around her and her polite, mild-mannered speech all contribute greatly in making her seem like an ordinary, boring person. The sort you meet by the handfuls in every squad compound.
But unknown to mere acquaintances, she has a humorous side, often displayed in the form of dry or sarcastic comments - all influence of her spirit, really! - especially when hanging around the few people she fully trusts – most of them her squadmates. People on that list also include her adopted family, a few childhood friends she hasn't seen in a while, and a select few members of other squads. Baili only allows herself to be carefree, loud and active when in a place she feels safe, such as her home and her squad compound. She is relatively caring in that while she doesn’t believe in sugar-coating the truth no matter how harsh it may be, she will break the news gently if that person is close to her, or is in visible distress, close to breaking down.
Baili is extremely practical, and strives to be a woman of sound moral principles, and would stand by them no matter what it cost her. She takes what the Gotei 13 stands for to heart, and will not hesitate to dole out justice if she believes is for the greater good. Staunchly loyal, firm, and unbending in her beliefs. She is a hard worker and can be stubborn and hard-headed when she believes she is right, and refuses to be convinced otherwise unless the opponent manages to bring sound logic into the argument. Though she has a sharp tongue and has no problems in standing up to others when she is in a temper, Baili is still the type of person who would give others a second chance when they had proven themselves worthy of it. She refrains from judging people by first impression alone, and usually reserves her opinion until she knows them better. While she might be a hard person to offend, she can't stand being belittled, and can get rather competitive, especially if that particular person proves rather challenging. Her temper is a slow simmering fire, not easily coerced into rearing up and retaliate, but the right trigger works like kerosene, making it explosive and abruptly, but dwindles down quickly. The right trigger? Threatening her friends. The older ones can take care of themselves, but the younger were her responsibilities.
Biography: Baili woke up in District 76, Sakahone, East Rukongai, where she discovered she had no memory of her past except for the name Baili, and the flashes of voices and images that surface whenever she drifts off to sleep. Dying at the age of 19 didn't exactly give her enough time to refine her social skills in terms of adult society, and she had never lived by herself besides during a trip in the holidays. However, her willingness to learn and work just for a place to sleep and food in her stomach did manage to bag her a job in a noodle shop as the cleaning lady. She did her best to keep her head down, not drawing attention to herself as thugs roamed the streets and gang fights were a common sight.
For a few years this worked as Baili slowly integrated herself into this place, and learned about the world she is now a part of from anyone willing to share. Due to her getting along with her boss - a little old woman with several adopted kids of her own - and the family, she was gradually accepted into the little circle, becoming another one of the old woman's unoffical adopted daughter. Her life was fairly uneventful and peaceful, something which Baili was rather grateful for. Dying and losing her memories of her past life didn't seem so bad after all. However, what she wasn't aware of was that she possessed reiatsu higher than the average soul in this district, and her inability to control it - and ignorance of it - would land her in trouble sooner or later.
The time came when she left to gather some ingredients for her adopted grandmother. A Hollow, attracted by the uncontrolled spiritual energy she was unconsciously emitting, pounced and managed to score a good hit on her back. Shocked, injured and bleeding, Baili desperately tried to scramble to her feet and crawl away, adrenaline helping numb the agonising throbbing and stinging from the wound. And large, bone-white fingers wrapped around her middle and she was lifted off the ground, Baili resigned herself to dying again. Except that didn't happen. There was a rush of wind and the sound of a sword leaving its scabbard. Then she was falling back to the ground. Landing on her side, she pushed herself upright despite her muscles screaming in protest just in time to see a person in black Shihakusho cleaving pieces of the monster with the sword in his hands. She watched the fight in awe, a resolve forming deep within her heart.
In a matter of minutes, the monster died and faded away with one last wail and the man - who introduced himself as a Shinigami of Squad Ten - was kind enough to heal her wounds and answer her questions. He even presented a piece of paper summarising Shinso Academy where one could train to be a Shinigami before departing. Hearing from a Shinigami's own mouth that she had enough reiatsu to be accepted into the Academy in a couple of years' time, Baili was ecstatic. She didn't like feeling so useless in the face of that Hollow, and a large part of her shudders at the thought of being devoured by it.
The day she was accepted as a student in the Academy was one of the best things in her life, both past and present. Although kenjutsu came naturally to her, being talentless at kido held her back from early graduation. Hence, she graduated at the usual rate, and did not even get more than a passing glimpse of her Zanpakuto spirit when she joined a squad as a complete newbie. It was through a year of meditation and more years of facing Hollows that she eventually managed to get in contact with Sabaku no Hogo-sha. Even if sometimes, she really wish she hadn't. The fox had the personality and voice of a grumpy old man and over the years, she found some of its attitude bleeding into her own. It didn't help that she could always hear him. Sure, she can block him out, but Baili has never felt comfortable blocking out her Zanpakuto. It always feels as though she is missing a limb or two.
With a little less than a century of experience as a Shinigami under her belt, Baili still strives to uphold all that a Shinigami stands for. Perhaps it is due to her first impression of one being her saviour, but she tends to think the higher-ups all have the good of Seireitei in mind, even if the methods they use to achieve an end is less than ideal.
Former Life: The eldest daughter to a Taiwanese father and Japanese mother running a Kenjutsu dojo in the small city of Nagaoka, she was born Okita Yuya, with Baili being her middle name. Her mortal life wasn't all that exciting, with a normal childhood and normal life. She was six when her little brother was born, and she devoted herself to caring for the cute little boy. In between school, learning the Way of the Sword, teaching her brother and hanging out with her friends, she liked to go on random adventures with her best friend Senya. The two girls would always be gone for a week or so during their holidays, returning with stories of interesting sights or events. However, it was on one of this trip that she lost her life. The ship the two women took was met with a violent storm, capsizing the small vessel and throwing the passengers overboard. In the struggle for the pile of lifevests, Baili was knocked unconscious. At least she wasn't awake to experience drowning to death.
Zanpakuto:
Mindscape: The Desert Zanpukuto Spirit: Sabaku no Hogo-sha - A grumpy male desert fox with sandy brown fur, purple markings all along his body and glowing yellow eyes. He is a sarcastic SOB even to his wielder who hates getting wet. He is normally content with snoozing away in his wielder's mindscape but will get riled up whenever a fight is on. He hates his wielder losing as in extension, he is technically losing too.
When sealed, the zanpukuto takes the form of a wakizashi as it compliments Baili's short stature and preference for speed over power or reach.
"Hisan to takashio, Hogo-sha!" (Scatter and surge, Hogo-sha!) Unsealed, Baili's shikai leaves her with no physical weapon as it dissolves her sword entirely into sand she can manipulate. She typically condenses half of it into a whip while the other half stick to her skin, providing a layer of protection via sand armour. This usually tricks her opponent into believing that her shikai takes the form of a whip constructed from sand which can reform when it breaks as long as Baili has enough reiatsu to do so. She has just figured out how to inject her reiatsu into her sand in order to protect it from getting wet but is still unable to use this skill effciently in a combat situation. More practice is needed. Baili has yet to be able to manipulate every grain of sand her sword becomes without a lot of concentration on her part. As she usually only divides the amount of sand two ways (as an armour and a whip), she still finds it difficult to have her sand go off in multiple directions at a time. Only through practice will she be able to improve.
Abilities: An expert of Zanjutsu and an adept at Hoho, she prefers to run circles around her opponent and strike any openings with her wakizashi, using speed and agility to her advantage in combat. She certainly has the stamina and endurance to drag any battles she has little hope of winning until backup arrives. Baili is best at close combat currently, with mid-range combat a close second due to the nature of her shikai. She has a higher than average ability in the field of Reiatsu Chikaku (Spiritual Pressure Perception) thanks to her zanpakuto spirit, which is enhanced when her shikai is released. Her resilience and refusal to give up is perhaps one of her greatest strength, allowing her to endure more than she would be able to.
Weaknesses: Her hakuda skills are average, focused more on defensive than offensive due to lacking power and strength behind her hits and her kido is abysmal. Her reiatsu control is not atrocious, seeing as she can manipulate her shikai, but she just can't seem to grasp the basics of shaping her spells before firing them off. Most of the time, they blow up in her face and when they don't, it is either so weak it disperses before hitting the target or completely off target. Needless to say, she sucks at long-ranged combat. One of her biggest weakness is over-analysing her opponent in combat. She tends to overestimate them and underestimate herself, leaving her defending most of the time rather than keeping up constant attacks.
Theme: Finding one
Other: Although her Zanpakuto's element is sand, her reiatsu effect is not an elemental one. Rather, if she releases all her spiritual pressure, all the person standing next to her would be able to feel is as though sandpaper is being rubbed on their skin since she doesn't have that much presence. If she has it under control, nothing will happen. She always end up curling into a ball when sleeping and has a habit of bearing her teeth when frustrated or extremely irritated.
Bakuto is five eleven and weighs around one hundred ad ninty pounds. With a slightly pale but slightly suntanned skinned. He has a tattoo on one of his shoulders some sort of tribal art, he just got it because he thought it looked cool and made him look tough. He keeps himself lacks with his clothing both when he is in a human body in the world of the living
Personality: Bakuto has a rather eccentric personality, while during 'official business' he tries to seem stern, respectful and the kind of person who follows the rules and order of the soul society, when alone to do what he returns to his true personality. He is slightly unstable, and a bit quirky. Doing things the right way isnt his way, if he can get a job done better doing it another way then he will whether it be a harder way or easier.
Bakuto loves to fight hollows, and being surrounded by them just so he can kill more of them. The more hollows he has to fight the happier he is. While he does like fighting other soul reapers he prefers fighting hollows as he doesnt feel like he have to hold back and he can fight without worrying about killing an ally. Bakuto also likes a good competition whether it be gambling or some sort of physical sport to just plain fighting. Bakuto is very competitive and hates losing.
Bakuto always likes to keep 'updated' on what happens in the world of the living, always trying to find some reason to go there even if it is a very petty reason. Bakuto has a slight dislike to kido based zanpakutos. While he does find them impressive he believes the sword should be used like a sword and not like a magical wand or something along those lines. Bakuto is a bit 'broken' from time to time he will go from being normal to very aggressive. He also is a bit unstable often doing things thought to be 'crazy' or abnormal.
Biography: His time as as a Shinigami or Soul Reaper Bakuto spends most of his time hunting and killing Hollows. He has a been a soul reaper for one hundred years. Bakuto was found within the far outskirts of the Kusajishi district. The soul reapers who found him were chasing a hollow that managed to enter the soul society. The hollow attacked a young Bakuto, he was found killing the Hollow with a stick or at least that is the story that is told. The truth is Bakuto was found beating the Hollow with a stick until the soul reapers showed up to finish it off.
Bakuto had rather strong spiritual energy and was brought back with the soul reapers. Bakuto joined the academy and became a full soul Reaper. It was a few years after he became a soul reaper. He along with multiple members of his squad took on a menos grande. The Gillan class. Bakuto was stuck inside the belly of the Hollow for two weeks, his spirit pressure alone kept him from being digested.
It wasnt until the menos was killed was when he was freed but not before he lost himself. Mentally and physically being trapped within the monstrous hollow, surrounded constantly by the energy and spirit pressure of the hollow was enough to snap his mind and soul sort of speak.
Later he found his shikai to his Zanpakuto a gruesome weapon reminiscent that of a hollow and that of his chaotic soul. From here on he specialized in hunting hollows even requesting on multiple occasions to go to Hucho Mundo to fight hollows obviously denied. He keeps fighting for the soul society wanting to fight more hollows every day.

Expert at hand to hand fighting without a weapon. He fights and to hand better then most.

Cannot sense spirit energy very well, unless it is a hollow Bakuto cannot sense it very well unless it is abundently powerful or strong.
Appearance: Hato stands at 5'9 and weighs in at around 155lbs. His purple hair is trimmed short down on the sides and kept a little longer on top, to create a lazy mohawk. The image is pretty accurate.
Personality: Meet your resident lazy swordsman, Hato Shiba. Even though he has a demon of many colors on his back he is the embodiment of sloth. He enjoys wasting away in the sun on a good day and relaxing under a warm blanket on a bad one. After his death, Hato lost his spark, he lost the color in his life and chose to live in a constant state of grey. He feels as though the "life" after death means just as much as life itself, and that you will not amount to any more than you did when you were alive. This thinking is what drove him first into a depression and then into a perma-high of laziness. He is not hard on taking orders and respecting authority comes natural, it is execution he lacks, most of the time the easy way is the best way (in his eyes). Hato would say; "Doing nothing is often the best thing in most situations, who are we to mess with the universe."
The only few times you can get him out of a nap and active is in combat. That flame he used to have while he was alive can be seen in his eyes, small it may be it is still there and comes alive in during the heat in combat. He is still a sloth, cutting corners, fighting dirty, not being an honorable combatant all so he can end things quickly and return to his grey haze. Cheap tricks and out of pocket gimmicks are no strangers to his fighting style, and his lethargic nature drives him to come off as disinterested and disrespectful to his enemies. Most of the time he can be seen yawning and with a rested glaze covering his eyes, in and out of combat. His actions are not a testament to his education or talent, the boy is smart, as reading is one of his few escapes left from his colorful reality, and his skill in some areas of combat cannot be denied but its application and execution that keeps him down.
Biography: Hat's human life was lived in a blaze of passion and color, he felt...well "alive". But after he died and came to the Soul Society he was left with a bitter taste in his mouth and chose to live out the rest of his existence in sleep. Hato woke in West Rukongai and lived out his first few years working little jobs that would only sustain him for weeks at a time and with whoever would take him in. He wanted nothing but to be left alone and to wander endlessly until it was his "time" again. Death at 17 left a bad impression on Hato and this only furthered his resolve to stick with his act of solitude, but that becomes a hard task after meeting the head of the Fallen Shiba clan.
She is a violent and brash woman who rocked Hato's fragile little world, she met him after he left his job and was on his way to find a place to rest his head. It was the middle of the night and from Hato's point of view it looked like she was being assaulted by three different men and something snapped in him, it was as if the little spark that was left in him went into overdrive and forced him into action. Now Hato, being the fool he was, did not know who she was nor could he recognize her strength, so when he made a scene to get their attention and ended up fighting the three of them to protect her "honor", it was all very funny to Kūkaku. What caught her interest was a flare of his reiatsu, he had a strong presence and she wanted that in her clan. After that night she would seek him out, no matter where he worked, and petition him into joining the Shiba Clan until finally, he did. Hato could not stand the constant bother she was and ended giving into woman's request, feeling like a weak fool for his lack of resolve.
His life with the clan was easy enough, he had duties was given an allowance and was not bothered much. Hato did not mind the minor training sessions and accepted most of the things he was taught. He also picked up his habit of reading while he stayed at the Shiba house. What Hato was not aware of was that Kūkaku was preparing him to join the Academy and become a shinigami. He had little interest in it, but Kūkaku had grown on him and become a new "mother" to him, so when she asked that he join, Hato could not refuse the woman who had pulled him out of his black pilgrimage, and into a sort of grey light (which he is still thankful for). On the day he left, Kūkaku gifted him with a purple sash that had their clans mark stitched on it, a memento to help him remember where his home is.
When he was accepted into the academy, Hato felt a sense of joy, something he had not been familiar with in a long time. As his lessons intensified, and training become more rigorous, Hato began to show skill in hakuda and zanjutsu. But his lack of control over his reiatsu slowed his progression. He graduated long after his peers did and without the skill to even use a kidō it was a slim graduation at that. Hato was told that the only reason he passed was due to his skills in other areas and his overwhelming reiatsu, but it was one of is teachers that reminded him that "a large bag of icing is only good if it can be used properly and not make a mess." During his time in training, he grew close to his zanpakuto, Iro no Akuma (even though he prefers not to use her), and it seemed as though she wanted him to graduate more then he did. They went forward and forged a strong bond, strong enough the Iro handicaps herself so Hato can properly use her Shikai.
Now a fresh Shinigami, still without a care in the world, Hata is trying his best to represent his clan and live up to expectations. He knows most think he should not even be in the Gotei 13, but that does not stop him trying to achieve his own personal goals. He wants to master control and for once be of some use to those around him, even that seems better than the lullaby sung by his bed or the seductive touch of his next reading.
Former Life:Hato was raised in a normal two-parent household in Okinawa. He had a younger sister who adored him, parents who tried to make sure he could grow up to be a strong man and take care of himself. Most would think that being surrounded by the pressure of so much love would make diamonds, but in Hato's case, most would be wrong. He hated the looks of love and joy, the happy times and most of all the caring. The was never any spoken reason as to why Hato was just abrasive. He wanted the conflict, the pain, it made people seem more real to him then the "love" he was always getting. As he got older he quickly became a delinquent, fights, ditching class, dying his hair, everything from a-z, until his family had enough. After a normal day of being reprimanded after a fight, Hato went home to find his parents waiting for him. It did not take more than three minutes for an argument to occur, and Hato was loving the wide and frustrated hand gestures, the angry tones, the flame of furry in their eyes. In that moment he thought the color red looked good on his blank parents. After the climax of the argument, Hato left the house (which is normal in this case) and as he was leaving his father called his name while he stood in the middle of the street, unbeknownst to Hato a car was flying down the small road and hit him before he had a chance to register what happened. He died an hour later while in a small hospital in his hometown.
In its sealed state, Iro is a wakizashi with lavender bindings and Hato carries it at his hip.
Inner World & Spirit:
Description: Hato's inner world is a giant lake as far as the eye can see with a that looks close enough to touch and that stays have risen in the sky. At the middle there lies a wooden walkway similar to the design of the Ugendō Quarters in the 13th Division. This walkway makes a square and at the center of this square is a small garden with a cherry blossom tree that stays in bloom. A small bridge connects the wooden walkways to the garden, the walkway forms a square around the garden and the water within the square has koi fish of different colors swimming around. The spirit that dwells within this world is Iro no Akuma. She is a small teenage appearing young girl that always wears brightly colored yakuta and has a glint of mischief in her eyes. She can be seen most time with her umbrella drinking tea under the cherry blossom tree or walking throughout the walkways.
Zanpakuto Personality:
Iro is the representation of Hato's bottled up feelings. She is his vibrant, colorful, attitude that he does to show to everyone else. Iro helps him paint how he feels, the anger, the sadness, the passion, the love. All his feelings are shown through his spirit and her many shades. Iro is not an Akuma for nothing, she can be very mischievous and playful, not really taking things seriously and understanding the severity of the situation. One thing she and Hato share is the sin of sloth, both are lazy and see extra work as unnecessary. The girl loves to fish, one of the reasons Hato's inner world has a koi fish is so that she can fish for them, but she never catches any.
"Kessaku o kaku, Iro no Akuma" ("Paint a Masterpeice, Iro no Akuma")
After speaking the release command, his blade shines and takes on the purple second appearace.
Ability: Iro no Akuma gives Hato the ability to agument his reiatsu with different elemental properties based off of color (i.e red is fire, yellow is air, blue is water). He can currently only apply the fire agumentation and even then due to his large amount of reiryoku and reiatsu he lacks contorl and focus so he ends up causing more harm then not. He has only be able to maintain his reiatsu (with help from Iro) to the extent that he can use Akai Oni (Red Demon), it is a simple slash the exples a large (and wasteful) amount of his augmented reiatsu that burns and scorches whatever it hits.
Abilities: Hato is showing promise as an adept hakuda practitioner and some talent for zanjutsu. His reiryoku and reiatsu are far above average but he lacks focus and this drove him to work harder in other areas so that he could be an asset in some way. Hato prefers to fight up close and personal to his enemies, sometimes even disregarding his zanpakuto altogether (if he does not need it). Despite his preference, Hato is a flexible fighter, often alternating between using his sword and his fist and attempting to catch his enemy off guard. If he can he prefers to end things quickly and smoothly before he is pushed into having to summon Iro. His hohō is average at best and due to his lack of control, he does not even attempt kidō spells.
Weaknesses: One Hato's biggest weaknesses is his lack of control over his reiatsu. This leads to major complications when using his zanpakuto and using any kidō spells. Even though he has an overwhelming amount of reiatsu he lacks the focus and precision it takes to properly manipulate it, this is the reason his progression with his Shikai is slowed and he is only able to use a single color. Aside from this, Hato is a lazy individual with a one-solution-fits-all kind of attitude, he likes to formulate plans on the go and is stubborn to boot. Most of the time making mistakes while going after little objectives instead of looking a the bigger picture.
Other: Iro helps Hato by regulating control over his reiatsu, this limits his ability to use more colors than red, thus stunting the use of his Shikai to its full extent.
Personality: There is a sort of regal permanence to Naoko's demeanor which is noted as something of a change compared to her previous life where she was much more humble and modest. Naoko strives to present herself as upstanding and dependable person but on the flip-side of her convincing herself that she is a model Shinigami, she often holds others with contempt especially if they seem like the type to be Naoko's opposite. The result of this is that she often times has trouble establishing deeper companionship with others as she can be very critical of another's actions while also being vocally opposed to others being critical of her. Naoko has a high ambition and a strong sense of perseverance that often times leads to further complications with others, mainly through her aggressive and assertive nature.
Of course through all of that, hints of Naoko's former attitude exist. She remains rather lonely, often the product of accidentally pushing others away from stubbornness and although sometimes difficult, it feels natural to be by herself. There is also still a quiet appreciation of art and any expression of that in others is likely to draw her attention and admiration, and surprisingly, even if it is bad, she can still find the attempt endearing.
Former Life: A Tokyo native in the modern era, Naoko had previously and will always have an attachment to art and she was rather remarkable at all kinds of fine arts. Even at a young age, her imagination being brought to the canvas had often captivated others. She was often recognized officially by committees and competitions and had won many awards in her teenage years. Many believed she was destined to have a bright future ahead of herself with her magnificent talent. Tragically in her early adulthood she died unexpectedly in fashion that had left many to wonder whether she had killed herself, had fallen victim to chance, or something more malicious was committed against her. She died in a car accident when her vehicle went off the road.
Biography: Following Naoko's first death, her soul would pass onto to the next life. From there, Naoko did what felt natural and continued to illustrate and paint to make a living in this new life. Unfortunately due to the rather barbaric conditions of the poorer outskirts, namely Rukongai District 85, there wasn't a lot of interest. Of course it wasn't exactly the fault of the district population. Naoko's artistic talent had left her, cursed by the feeling of crippled fingers. She could barely write her name. At first she suspected it was some weird carry-over effect from her car accident but even if that was the case, she quickly despaired thinking she was doomed to some miserable existence in this life for some reason or another.
Existence in the outer district was a lonely affair, with Naoko's closed, peaceful nature not awarding her with many companions in this new and tough rugged world. Unsure of how things worked, she refused any offer of adoption, clinging to the idea that maybe her parents could find her, leaving her on her own.
However there was one that offered the crippled artist companionship but not only that, he offered her protection and even encouragement. A rough and ferocious man that appeared around her age. It was through this relationship that the timid Naoko managed to build some backbone and some fire to match this depraved district. More importantly, he helped Naoko battle through her crippled finger conditions by challenging her to push through that feeling of being crippled. Surprisingly, she was starting to find the ability to push through it and as a consequence, her Reiryoku and Reishi began to build from the sheer willpower.
As time passed, she grew alongside her friend as he fought in pit fights and she tagged along, often times painting portraits of his exploits in practice. Eventually they were only phantoms to the rest of the souls and began to wander the Soul Society until they found their next purpose in life. The Shinigami offered something to both of them, him a way to fight and prove himself and her, the familiarity of higher society and reprieve from disparity, but also a since of greater purpose. The two joined the Shinigami Academy and eventually passed, using each other as a strong motivator to advance.
Zanpakuto: Owari no Subete, Uchūjin (End of All, Space Alien)
Self-described as the "Broken Lord", Uchūjin appears to be some sort of vapor possessing a suit of advanced armor supplemented by elaborately embroidered cloth. It is twice the size of Naoko with all of its armor on. Its voice is described as a echo and despite sounding low and intimating, Naoko believes that Uchūjin is quite gentle but seemingly sad and lonely.
Uchūjin's world is something that always reminded Naoko of the western castles on earth but with more gloom to it. Dark clouds blot out the sun and the only lights are the faint blue lanterns that glow in the buildings and the grand glowing pillar setting at the top of the castle. The design of the futuristic device emitting the light looks strangely out of place in this sort of medieval looking world.
Sealed, Uchūjin appears like an regular katana with the exception of a pommel that has an elaborately detailed carving of jeweled-eyed hawk. Unsealed, Uchūjin appears like something otherworldly. The material of the hilt, pommel, and guard are all made of metal with the hawk symbol reappearing. The blade has a slight curve emerging from a hawk's mouth. The metal composition of its pieces are considered an unknown alloy for all parts with the blade having the only unique property. The blade emits a strange cosmic-like vapor where many compare it to seeing the night sky when Naoko channels her Reiatsu to her Zanpakuto. The vapor appears to consume the blade as careful study showed that small sections of the blade would evaporate away. However, the vapor quickly dissipates and the blade regenerates. Naoko believes that even though she has not discovered the full potential of her Shikai, she may be close to a potential breakthrough.
Abilities: Her greatest strength is a near-adept level of skill with Kido with a stronger understanding of Bakudo over Hado. Her Kaido is right at the level that is expected of a seated officer of the 4th Division. Otherwise, Naoko is surprisingly quick witted, inventive, and clever which lends itself more often than what people give credit for. Fairly surprising Reiatsu levels and durability, too.
Weaknesses: The rest of Naoko's abilities leave a lot to be desired. Her Zanjutsu is maybe average at best but falls below average when considering the Shinigami in total. Her Hoho and by extension, Hakuda, talents are lacking with recorded academy performances that placed her in the lower 30% of class.
Theme: (I guess you can throw this in here if you want. It's optional but it gives flavor.)
Other: (Anything that my unnecessarily long sheet didn’t cover? Write it here!)
Appearance: Sayuri stands at 6' with dark violet eyes and a black waist-length hair worn in a low thin ponytail. From her training she's gained a lithe muscular build. Her Shihakusho is sleeveless and she wears white cloth bandages wrapped around her palms and forearms. Underneath the bandages she sports numerous scars crossing the backs of her hand and forearms. There is also a large X shaped scar across her back from when she was alive which she has kept hidden from all but a couple people. She also wears a necklace with a dark red dragon head shaped pendant at all times.
Personality: Sayuri acts like a generally friendly and laid back person who is never afraid to talk to anyone or offer a helping hand. Though this is just an act she puts on to hide the fact that she is actually incredibly apathetic towards pretty much everything but her own interests. Especially when it comes to other people, though there are a handful of exceptions. She is also known for never dropping her guard even around allies. She is kind of a battle maniac loving combat in all forms though it is especially true when it is an actual fight with real risk involved. Her favorite animal is cats and she absolutely loathes dogs and onions.
Biography: When Sayuri first arrived in the soul society she arrived in the 52nd south rukon district and was quickly joined a small family of 4 other girls of varying ages. While living with them she generally stayed home keeping an eye on the youngest two while the other two worked to earn their food and housing. Life went extremely well for her for the next 50 years until a large fire swept across the area where she lived killing all but for the eldest of her adopted sisters who was injured and unable to work. Fairly soon after that she marched off to get herself hired for any work she could in of the higher districts in order to pay for herself and her sister. She found herself working for a wealthy merchant. Not much of note happened over the next hundred and sixty five years. That's when she decided to become a Soul Reaper as she began to feel listless and was looking for trouble more and more as a result. She trained herself for the next 2 years in order to apply and was accepted on her first attempt.
Once at the academy she made a near instant impression on the staff and most of the other student due to her speed at picking up everything that was taught. While there she made very few friends as she was never really interested in others and was soon left alone by most people to do her own thing. One notable exception was a girl named Irene who just wouldn't leave her alone. Over the next two years they became incredibly close friends despite the fact that Sayuri was moving along faster than the other students. During a training session in the world of the living during her second year an accident happened leaving a number of her class injured including Irene and herself. While the cause was never publicly it encouraged Sayuri to get stronger and she pushed herself after she healed graduating a year later. She was quickly assigned to Squad 7 as an unseated officer despite her early graduation which was mostly attributed to her personality. Over the next several years she worked hard and quickly attained her Zanpakuto. The rest of the time up to the present she has spent training and going on any mission she was sent on along with supporting her sister whenever she could.

【Shikai】 “Spread your Wings” Appearance The Shikai takes the form of a set of black gauntlets and greaves. The gauntlets cover her entire arms from the elbow down with overlapping plates along the back of her arm and clawed fingers. The greaves have a similar asthetic. Abilities Her Shikai's main ability is to allow her to create and manipulate flames with her gauntlets. At current she rarely uses this ability as she has a difficult time controlling the amount of flames and how finely she can control it. This leaves her only able to do large area sweeping attacks with her flames without the ability to do precision attacks. —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Abilities: - Skilled with Zanjutsu and Hakuda - Naturally gifted with Hohō - Highly intelligent and shrewd - Powerful Reishi
Weaknesses: Sayuri has a couple major weeknesses. The first is the fact that she can't use her shikai's flames to full effect as she can't control them well making them fairly useless at long range. Her other major weakness is that she is a major glass canon. She is strong and quick but doesn't take blows well which forces her to dodge more often though she can hold her own in a contest of strength.
Other: She is known for being an amazing chef capable of cooking any kind of food.
Appearance: Juliet stands 5'1, and weighs 112 lbs. Her hair is naturally razor straight and goes down to her lower back.
Personality: Juliet, upon first greetings comes off as an extroverted individual whose quick to become friends with anyone she comes across, and even quicker to let things go and forgive all wrongs. She appears to naturally be able to project an easy-going nature which seems to say in bright neon letters "relax, you are in good company." However, this is really just a costume she's created. In reality, Juliet is a very introverted individual who enjoys her solitude, and has a very hard time letting go of the majority of slights against her. The reason why she wears her 'masks' is because she's found it to be the easiest way to deal with life in a society.
That is not to say that Juliet hates everything about living in a world covered with humans (in one form or another) as she's a big fan of a lot of the popular media, especially film, and literature, or anything involving a good story. She's also a fan of video games, and puzzles of every shape and variety. Possibly the greatest surprise, at least to those who know who Juliet is under all the masks, is that she's truly a fan of multiplayer games as she loves to test her intelligence against others, especially if the others in question were responsible for some insult in the past. The only thing Juliet enjoys more than absorbing media, or playing games is creating her own. She's an advent writer, constantly creating stories of various length and type, which she hopes to someday publish, and possibly made into a movie. Although, the actually quality of the stories has been questionable as Juliet, though an imaginative and capable writer, doesn't exactly possess competent editing skills. Though, she will admit they're maybe a little bit better than her Zanjutsu abilities, but not by much.
Juliet is a very proud individual who'd rather pretend her short comings didn't exist, all of which tend to focus on the physical side. Therefore, as a way to protect her pride, she tends to favor using her mental abilities almost completely. This has led her to excel at debating, strategy, philosophy, literature, sociology, physics, history, critical thinking and problem solving, as well as just amassing a mountain of useless facts. While she tends to do terribly at nearly anything having to do with her physical body.
Biography: In her youth, Juliet's temper and feeling of superiority constantly got her into trouble. She was either leading children into situations they had no right being in, or somehow turning the others against her thanks to a miscalculation in her part. Which was all fine and good until one day she talked several of her friends to try and capture a hollow which was supposedly spotted within a lawless district. The good news was it wasn't a hollow. The bad news is it was a rogue shinigami and just as dangerous as any hollow. Juliet was able to buy some time, distracting their opponent but not much. In the end, she found herself alone (all her friends being smart enough to run away) and at the end of a blade. If not for pure dumb luck, Juliet and her friend would've all been killed. Thankfully, a team of shinigamis were able to get to them in time. Which the leader, after a long hard scolding, talked Juliet into trying to enter the shinigami academy, which she did.
Juliet flourished in the academy, at least for most parts. Her brilliant mind quickly helped her rise to the top of her class, or would've if not for her failure at Zanjustu and hand to hand combat. HOwever, her physical skills were so bad, after everything was tallied up, she ended up finding herself with the grades of an average student.
Former Life: In her previous life Juliet lived alone with her grandfather, who was nice most of the times, but was a mean drunk. He died when she was very young and so she bounced around foster care for some time before finally becoming eighteen and setting off on her own. She died after starving in some large woods because she was certain she could make it out on her own and didn't need to resort to calling for help.

Zanpakutō Name: Anansi Shiro inku no(of the white ink)
Zanpakutō Spirit
Zanpakutō Personality Anansi is much more laid back and easy going than Juliet. He enjoys many of the same things she does, but he loves them simply for the entertainment they possess, never as a means of proving ones superiority over others. He's constantly teasing Juliet and playing tiny pranks on her. Zanpakutō Inner World
【Shikai】 Release Command Spin your web Appearance Upon the initial release Anansi's shikai takes the form of a small, metallic spider that's about an inch in diameter, which is capable of moving independently of Juliet. Note-Anansi's shape and size changes as its shikai increases in level. Abilities While Anansi's shikai is active, the spider is constantly feeding off Juliet's spiritual pressure, and so grows in size and ability the longer its out.
Stage 1 Anansi has access to the following abilities: Movement-despite the tiny size of the shikai, Anansi is capable of rapidly covering large areas in a relatively short amount of time. Fangs-Due to the level in which Anansi's power is condensed in its shikai form, the fangs are surprisingly sharp. Venom-In it's shikai form Anansi produces a special type of venom that causes paralysis. Although, initially the venom does come off as weak due it not being very potent, it is extremely dangerous as it increases in volume by mixing with spiritual power of whoever its injected into. That is to say, the more spiritual power flowing through a bitten entity, the quicker it will take effect and leave said entity unable to move. -Due to the unique nature of Anansi's venom, Juliet is capable of mixing it with her own kido in order to add its paralytic effect to any of her spells. Though, by this method the effect is much weaker and doesn't expand with the user's spiritual power as it would if injected.
Abilities: Juliet is an expert at Kido, easily capable of spells level fifty or lower without the need for the incantation. She's also halfway decent at shunpo. However, her real strengths aren't her physical abilities, but her mental faculties, which on all counts, should never be underestimated.
Weaknesses: -Juliet has basically no skills in zanjutsu or hakuda. -Her zanpakuto starts off relatively weak with limited abilities and constantly limits what she's capable of in terms of kido, which is her specialty. -The biggest drawback to Anansi's released form is that it is constantly consuming Juliet's spiritual pressure. The higher its stage, the more power it'll draw, thus lowering her overall effectiveness with kido. At its base form it draws about 20% of Juliet's energy output, and an additional 20% at every ascending stage. -Juliet cannot control her shikai's stages as its leveling up happens automatically. -Currently, Juliet isn't capable of producing enough spiritual power to reach any further than Anansi's initial shikai release
Theme: I'll think of this later
Other: Juliet prefers to keep her zanpakuto in its released state as its one less thing to have to carry , and usually keeps it located on her left wrist.
Personality: Yami isn't the most talkative person, not that he is shy, he just prefers to keep his ideas to himself, though he will speak up if he thinks that something is wrong or not the way that he thinks it's right. He spends most of his time reading fantasy books that he brings from Earth each time he goes there on a mission. Other that that he likes to be outside and have walks in the the forest. While in battle his personality shifts, one can see the enjoyment in his face while fighting, his eyes "change" to a predatory look and his body takes a steady stance opposite to the more "chilled" one he normally walks around.
Former Life and Biography: Back when he was human Yami lived in Japan, nothing about his life was out of the ordinary, he lived alone, and grew up in an orphanage never knowing who his parents was. One day he died. He does not remember how, but the last thing he saw was a bright red-ish light coming from underneath his bedroom door. When he "woke up" in the soul society it took him a few years to understand what was going on and what was his place in this new world. He wandered from town to town, learning about the new world he was living now. A few years past until he decided that he wanted to become a shinigami, this decision came with no apparent reason, he just felt that it was what he was meant to do. So he joined the academy. During his training years Yami was never really skilled in Zanjutsu, but he balanced his weakness by being really good with Kidō and Hohō.
A few years after joining the Gotei 13,during a mission hunting a group of Hollows that were attacking a small village in the outskirts of Soul Society, Yami got separated from his group, and found himself surrounded by three Hollows, in that moment, while cornered, Yami heard a voice coming from his sword. It said a name and Yami called for it. His Zanpakuto turned into a bow, and using his Shikai powers he managed to defeat two hollows. The third one was bigger and stronger but after defeating the first two Yami's captain showed up and with a movement of his sword he destroyed the last hollow. Afraid of prejudice of his weapon look Yami was speechless towards the Captain, but without saying a word the Captain gave him a nod of acceptance and Yami dispelled his Shikai. Out of gratitude Yami now wishes to climb up in ranks in order to serve his Captain as best as he can.
Zanpakuto - Shiroi Umō (White Feather): In it's sealed form it looks like a normal katana with a white circular guard. When the Shikai is released chanting the words "Fly, Shiroi Umō" it takes the form of two small daggers that Yami can use normally but also trow and make them spin in the air. After trowing the daggers Yami can make change course in mid air and also make them come back to his hands.
Abilities: Not being skilled in sword fighting Yami compensates with the use of Kido, he is able to cast up to number 50 spells without chanting. Not being a master in Shunpo he can still move really fast as well as being able to air step.
Weaknesses: Yami's greatest strength is also his weakness. Afraid of prejudice by others for it's resemblance with a quincy bow, Yami never releases his Shikai true form, restraining him from using it's true power. Only when alone and if the situation really calls for it will Yami chant the words "Fly and Spread your Wings, Shiroi Umō" making his Zanpakutō assume it's true released form. In it's true shikai form, the Zanpakutō takes the form of a bow from which Yami can shoot arrows at great speed. When Yami activates his Shikai a quiver also appears in his back filled with 20 arrows (this number has grown with training), after using all the arrows his Shikai dispels. The arrows are surrounded by high speed winds. Yami can control the winds in two ways: make them have high speed and piercing capacity or make them able to push the enemy hit with blunt force. The only person in the Gotei 13 to know about his shikai true form his his Division Captain.
