Name of Nation: Cindorayi Empire



Nation Characteristics: The scattered kingdoms of the Cindorayi, in the north and westernmost parts of the peninsula they now possess, were finally unified by the Vissarion Kingdom in 1864. Rozhkov I Vissarion, the head of the Vissarion House, formally declared himself Emperor of all Cindorayi that same year. The Cindorayi, who had previously been largely been tributary states to the ancient Aldabetan Republic, never lost the grudge they had against the Aldabetuse people. The Second Emperor, Pashkov I, lead Cindorayi forces in the First Tannyl War (1894-1897) for access to the lake’s freshwater, which was the first Cindorayi victory over the Republic ever recorded. Over the twentieth century, the Cindorayi Empire rapidly industrialized, being the very first of all nations to do so with easy access to coal and iron ore from their northern tundra lands. In 1934, the Second Tannyl War began, but this war ended in essentially status quo six years later after millions of deaths. After this, however, the Cindorayi Empire along with their allies the Lithla rapidly outstripped the Aldabetuse in terms of industrial production and development. The Aldabetan Republic continued to stagnate and refuse to accept change, whereas the Cindorayi grew ever more militant and radical. In the late twentieth century the nobility was stripped of all remaining power, the Imperial Diet was disbanded and never recalled, and all power was concentrated in the hands of the Emperor. New technologies such as radio and television were used to alarming effect in propagandizing and reinforcing discipline amongst the Cindorayi population, and the Aldabetans were portrayed as the implacable enemy of the Cindorayi people. Other sentient species already subjects of the Cindorayi Empire from prior wars were enslaved and used for menial labour tasks. The military became the highest and most important profession, the center of the Empire’s state apparatus, and has become so integrated with the government that there is very little civilian bureaucracy left. The Cindorayi Empire pioneered space exploration primarily for its military advantages, quickly establishing a network of laser satellites around the planet which were used extensively during the Void War. After victory in 2036, the Empire consolidated control over its new subject peoples, resettling Aldabetuse land and forcibly relocating them to workplaces elsewhere. Realizing the potential numbers advantage of establishing a space colony before anyone else, the Cindorayi restricted all non-allied nations from lunar or extraplanetary settlement, and threatened to rain fire upon any nation which disobeyed as well as blowing any colony ships out of the sky with lasers or nuclear missiles. To greatly improve their capacity for offworld transport, they commenced construction of a space elevator, first of its kind, in their capital city of Lunysvet in 2042, which completed by 2046. Subsequently, the Cindorayi Empire began by establishing a permanent colony on Lunoi and then began full-scale colonization of Cindorya in 2048, which by 2056 had led to over a million colonists being shipped there.

Name of Second Nation: People's Republic of Cindorya

Nation Characteristics: The PRC declared independence from the Cindorayi Empire last month, and consists of a colonial territory on the main continent of Cindorya with a population of approximately 1.2 million. It is in an active state of civil war against the Cindorayi Empire as of the RP’s start.

Nation Location: Westernmost peninsula of the main continent, and the planet of Cindorya, respectively.

Nation Initial Population: 121 million.

Species Name: Cindorayi

Species Characteristics: The Cindorayi are bipedal humanoids with a felinoid appearance, including full-body fur, tails, and pointed ears. Their torsos are arched significantly forwards, unlike other humanoids, and they possess claws on the ends of both sets of hands. Their hands have three fingers and an opposable thumb, and their feet likewise have four digits.

Technological Level: The Cindorayi Empire is the most advanced at present in terms of military technology and only surpassed by others in a few categories. The greatest technical achievement of the Empire is the Lunysvet Space Elevator, a 2 km tall railgun which launches cargo and craft into orbit from Nova Mondial’s surface. Cindorayi began the production of Lunya-class corvettes in 2054, a state-of-the-art space superiority fighter which is capable of taking off from a planetary surface with boosters and traveling to orbit. It possesses a single primary railgun, two wing-mounted lasers, and a nuclear fusion generator which also powers its thrusters through exhaust. The Cindorayi have also begun experimenting with electromagnetic shields, but so far have been unable to miniaturize it for use in any spacecraft or vehicles. Its other non-military technologies are consistent with modern America.

Space Presence: The Cindorayi Empire as of the RP’s start possesses an orbital network of 30 satellites which are equipped with primary lasers and four nuclear missiles apiece, by which the Empire kept the nations of the world in check through threat of imminent nuclear annihilation. The Mondial Orbital Command space station is the primary command and control network for the Cindorayi space operations, and maintains docking facilities for all manner of craft, military and civilian. Secondly, the Cindorayi Empire possesses a lunar colony of around 70,000 individuals, all living in one small city and home to several manufacturing and mining facilities. The Cindoryan Imperial Colony was lost in the opening days of the Cindoryan Revolution.

Special Resource: Cindor crystals, which are capable of storing much larger quantities of energy than conventional batteries. They are a primary component in Cindorayi railgun and laser systems.

Name of Nation: The Dominion of Isalka

Nation Characteristics: An incredibly strict military hierarchy, with an isolationist streak. The oldest and strongest of the nation are given the right to rule, while the youngest live safely under their protective watch. Strict training and tutoring prevents the mind from drawing to ideas that would threaten the growth of the population. The Wojteki, its inhabitants, live in a constant state of readiness for war.

History: Throughout the existence of their species, the Wojteki have grown to be staunch defenders of their territory, culminating in developments individual to their kind. For the most part, they remained neutral, rarely trading supplies with those around them. However, the Void War brought with it a surge of interventionism by younger groups within the military, leading to them leaving the country to serve with the Cindorayi and the Aldabetuse. The General Staff, backed by older members of the populace, denounced these actions as threatening to destabilize Isalka, and banned the return of these Wojteki to their home. The leader at the time, Supreme Commander Carpulski, soon issued a Mandate denying any Wojteki to leave Isalka, or else face punishment. Carpulski then passed away, and Szechslaszi took his place as Supreme Commander of the Dominion Army.

Daily Lifespan: From the age of 10, the ripe age of an adult, the Wojteki is granted the rank of worker. There, they are pushed out onto the surface and mine the ice cap's special mineral, Dobrevirite. At the age of 20, those who survive the frigid winter lands are inducted into the Dominion Military, where they start as Pova, the first rank. As they progress through age, the Pova become the Kamra at 25, then the Sarsha at 30, and finally the Kaptensk at 40. From that age onwards, the Wojteki is allowed to become a member of the Outstanding Army, where they are allowed to live underground, create families, and serve voluntarily in helping the nation's new generations on the Dominion's frozen lands. Alternatively, they may continue to serve the Military, working up to becoming Majensk at 50, then Gentafer (General Staffer) at 60. Around the age of 80, the Wojteki passes away from natural causes.

The new Supreme Commander is directly appointed on the former's deathbed, sometimes with a last breath. To become a Supreme Commander, the Wojteki must first have been a Gentafer, and then made notable developments in evolving Isalka. For instance, Carpulski was elected due to creating the Armored Guard, Wojteki who defend the nation's resource mines and operations from animals and, currently, rebels. Szechslaski, recently, was hand-picked for continuing Carpulski's Mandate, and promising to eradicate any traitors to the Dominion. Patrols regularly go out attack the traitors, where their camps can be found, while young Wojteki are brought up believing the outside world is harsh and hates their kind. Ironically, the Supreme Commander and the General Staff are the only ones that accept ambassadors from various nations, albeit they only meet through television and not in-person.

Exactly what makes the Dominion of Isalka dangerous is the vast amount of hostile wildlife across the country. Large wolves, spiked worms, and even roving bands of mutinous Wojteki are often found here. Hungry for food, or seeking to put a dent in the Dominion's efforts, they harass the nation every day.

Nation Location: The southern ice cap.

Nation Initial Population: 5 million

Species Name: Wojteki (Wosh-tech-ee)

Species Characteristics: On first appearance, the Wojteki are 8-foot tall white-furred bipedal bears. However, their arms and legs are more shaped to be humanoid, covered by tufts of fur all over. Their arms, thighs and calves are thick and hairy in size, stemming down to large fingers and toes with straight, sharp nails. The only difference between males and females is their muscle density; males are much thicker, while females are leaner and have curved nails. The large amount of hair gives them a small amount of protection against the cold in Isalka, but does not make them completely resistant to it. For that matter, Isalka is covered with underground tunnel systems dug out by the Wojteki over the years of the planet's existence, serving for hundreds of thousands of dens dug deep below the ground. It is unknown exactly how far these tunnels go, but it can be assumed they are able to reach the mantle layer of the planet.

The average Wojteki lives only eighty years. The oldest, and current leader, is Supreme Commander Szechslaszi, at ninety years. Although he rarely appears in public, he constantly appears to his General Staff through television, constantly checking on Isalka's coasts and underground developments.

Male and female Wojteki, upon starting their lives, serve together for the first ten years as workers. Once they are 20, they are given the options of serving as soldiers or scientists. Males often become soldiers, and females often become scientists. At the age of 40, their job takes a backseat, as couples form and families grow. The cycle then continues, with every generation. Menial labor, such as mail-running or serving food, is automated.

Despite their beastly appearance, the Wojteki are often seen wearing full suits of steel-plated combat armor, with the older generations wearing more advanced sets befitting their status, adding more features rather than protection. They also wear filtration masks to breathe in the air without the chill affecting their lungs, and later improvements offer helmets with built-in respirators.

Culture: Wojteki culture is very stern-faced, with a more warm climate underground. Literature and Kriegspiel are the two most followed forms of entertainment for the Wojteki, with moderate drinking and conversation being the public hobby. The Wojteki often drink Wojva, a peppermint-tasting alcohol made from melting down the Isalkan snow through heating it with their special resource, and mixing it with science-produced generic alcohol. It is common to see two Wojteki duke it out, although it is more a friendly means of showing each others' strength; this applies not just to the males, but the females as well, and intergender matches can happen as commonly.

Religion: The term religion does not appear in the Wojteki vocabulary. The Dominion is a secular nation, although previous records have indicated they worshiped a celestial duo known as Kieva and Gorodi. Kieva represented the stars, while Gorodi represented the earth. It is unknown when they ditched this form of worship, although theories suggest their technological evolution drew them away from this faith. However, those Wojteki outside the Dominion tend to reaffirm their beliefs in the religions of those nations they stay in, as they deem the value of faith to be necessary in their new lives. This can often lead to traitor Wojteki taking on various faiths.

Side Chosen in Void War: Neutral. During the war, a few divisions of Wojteki demanded to serve, ultimately escaping from the nation and joining both sides. These actions angered the populace, and drove them to become an isolated nation, refusing to draw themselves into these quarrels. However, a small percentage of Wojteki often try to escape the Dominion, being branded traitors for attempting to explore the planet around them. Some of these Wojteki choose to stay, acting as raiders to disrupt their once-beloved community; others are found across the planet, very rarely, as mercenaries.

Sub-factions: The Rovers. Although discipline is high in Isalka, there are those who would sooner break off the Wojteki's isolationist beliefs and move out into the world. For that matter, with the Mandate of Carpulski after the Void War, any Wojteki who dared express any sense of leaving the ice cap or dissent against the General Staff were to be branded as traitors and exiled into the frozen lands. Those who survive become Rovers, bands of Wojteki with salvaged equipment making a living off of nature. A majority of the Rovers stay, forming a resistance against the General Staff, while very few are able to get off the island. It is assumed that the Rovers only make up a very small percentage of the Wojteki population, being more a nuisance than a threat.

The Rovers's leader is unknown, but the Supreme Commander and General Staff claim that outsiders, such as the Vaspen Empire to the north, fund the Rovers to enact vengeance upon the Dominion.

Technological Level: Over the years, the Wojteki were able to utilize some amount of technology to develop their underground routes. Quality elevators and stable metal hallways were a norm, backed by radios in every room. On the surface, fortified bunkers took up the coastline, missiles armed to ward away potential threats or curious travelers. Trenches also run through the land, leading to massive mining sites. Television is common, albeit more for communication and not entertainment. Rather than grow crops in the frigid lands, they produce ration squares grown from the cells of the Dominion's creatures, constantly mass-produced through scientific means. Their standards of healthcare are fairly average, with the use of stimulants and patches to heal up wounds.

In terms of weapons, the Wojteki use modified halberds, swords, semi-automatic carbines, revolvers, drum-magazine machine pistols, and double-barrel shotguns, often handed down from previous generations, as demands on weaponry are lower than that of food and other supplies. The modifications allow the use of Dobrevirite steel, which would either destroy or ruin other kinds of weaponry upon firing or striking. Their only up-to-date equipment are their missile defense systems that are planted across the land, self-calculating and backed by experienced artillery crews, able to fire both at land and space targets while being loaded in a short time. The Wojteki forego advanced projectiles in favor of conventional projectiles, which may be seen as a curse rather than a blessing, in an era of advanced weaponry.

The Wojteki's only claim to space is a scout satellite, which hovers around the planet to ensure full view over the surface of the Dominion. It has no weapons, and its only protective measure is its camouflage and signal jammer, preventing ships or other satellites from spotting it.

Special Resource: Dobrevirite steel. A dark-purple metal that is found jutting out of the landscape, Dobrevirite has been shaped by the Wojteki into artillery shells, bullets, and melee weapons. It is incredibly sharp and combustible, and is used primarily for the Wojteki's halberds and bullets. The constant growth of dormant Dobrevirite throughout the landscape leaves a neverending operation for the Wojteki to mine and refine it, allowing it to become combustible once refined. Given the Wojteki's fervent defense against invaders recently, very few have been able to collect samples of this metal during this time period. Outside of its use for war, it acts as a replacement for any sort of fire by striking it against a surface to light it.

New Auslassia

Nation Characteristics:
Nominally a Republic, but the most authority is held along the coast. The vast desert interior of the nation is a vast savanna or desert. Here, only herders and mining towns live, sprinkled thinly out across the great red clay and orange sands.

The disproportion of power and authority though is not at disharmony with the government, is it may seem for one part of the country to be at anarchy to another.

The coasts though is where the wealth lives. Abundantly proud of their water, the inhabitants of Auslassia flock to the shores. The coast, particularly the southern shores are renowned for their vast gold sand beaches and amiable surfing conditions, inviting surfers from all over.

Sapiens and Alt-Sapiens

Species Characteristics:
Sapiens are nominally like humans, and legends say they were born of pirates that came to interfere in the world. One of the results of their interference has been the creation of what they call the Alternate Sapien, or the Second Class in certain quarters. A product of genetic experimentation, the alternate sapiens are more a hybridization of man with animal to create a fully expressive, sapient animal.

Side Chosen in Void War:
Nominally neutral, though independent groups served as volunteers among the Republic.

Technological Level:
While not as militarily advanced as the Cindorayi, Auslassia has comparatively equal commercial and consumer level technology, whether in the pursuit of mining resources or managing animal herds, or even for the entertainment and amusement of its tourist visitors. Launching from its space port it also allows for the use of foreign private freighters or its own private company freight fleets through the system.

Special Resource:
Vegamine Coal – Seemingly abundant in the national interior, in the beds of ancient swamp beds “vegamine coal” is a super dense source of fuel and carbon that's been found useful in nanotechnology and in relatively low-cost energy, as opposed to straight coal it burns slower and hotter; releasing relatively more potential power for low-tech energy production.

Similarly, a radioactive metal is mined in regions, under the name of Waltzdium, a blue-green metalic mineral safe to handle without protection, but when used in energy generation produced a strong and steady stream of radiation.

Name of Nation: The Unified Soto Guilds

Nation Characteristics: The USG is a union of multiple guilds who took power after the Soto Republic collapsed. These guilds make up the core of society and create a federated system of government as the overall government is a union of these guilds who regionally control different parts of the Soto rainforest. They are, despite this, unstable and with a highly romantic culture where free thinking is heavily encouraged and civil unrest is common. Economically they are a mixture of market socialism and cosmopolitanism. Their multiculturalism goes back centuries and is the legacy of a network of ancient tropical empires that had oriented themselves along the huge river systems of the Soto region. These guilds can trace their origins back to these empires.

While the inhabitants of the Soto region once existed in rigid caste systems and very autocratic modes of governance, their whole civilization basically has been in a state of perpetual instability ever since their traditional ally, the Aldabetan Republic got destroyed by the Cindoryai.

Their current society, the USG, has already seen a major political shift towards more socialist politics and has undergone a huge spree of military spending while continuing tensions with multiple imperial societies to this day. In spite of all this, they actively work with other less authoritarian societies and have tried to spearhead various international organizations to varying degrees of success.

Their current leader is the First Citizen Somis, elected in 2052 under the Builders Guild and has maintained its coalition ever since. Somis has been a very aggressive player unlike its more pragmatic predecessor.

History:
The Soto Republic was founded in the ashes of some very dark times, mainly in the wake of a colonial revolt against occupiers from distant lands around the year 1900 which ended in the unification of the whole Soto rainforest under a single government. The Soto Republic modernized their society and dealt with decades of very tumultuous, corrupt politics for its 80 years of existence. The Republic age is mostly known for the incredible corruption and incredible opulence. The Soto Union started in 1985 after a civil war within the earlier Soto Republic caused by debt crises, which spiraled out of control and a military that ran out of money. The Violet Society became the dominant force and moved society towards a more or less conservative place as they remained staunch, but distant allies of the Republic who they still perceive a debt to.

After the Void War the current market socialist system developed after as the populous became much more radicalized due to the economic fallout of the war and a climate of extreme terror. A much more left wing political faction known as the Builders Guild was elected to power under the pragmatic leadership of Idani in 2041. The Violet Society was perceived as too submissive to the imperialists in 2041. The Builders Guild has pretty much dominated politics ever since on a general agenda of building a better world and universal freedom. They also are why market socialism became the de facto economy within the Union, the guilds and market in theory balancing each other out. In theory.

Nation Location: The rainforest region with the four rivers and single large lake. (same place)

Nation Initial Population: 107 million, 70% Sumuta, 30% other

Species Name: The Sumuta

Species Characteristics: The Sumuta are molluscoids who have adapted to an arboreal environment, they are literal airheads. They have warm colored compound eyes at the front of their mantle which see far more colors than usual. Their bodies tend to be pale blue or simply white with various stripy skin patterns. Limb-wise they have four sets of tentacles with a bilateral symmetry which themselves have four sub-tentacles they use for tool manipulation.

Their large amorphous mantle obscures their triangular beak. The Sumuta reproduce with purse eggs they hang from trees who become larvae, of whom grow under water in fresh water conditions into bigger Sumuta over time. It is during this process that the larvae develop their air bladders and adult body parts, eventually growing enough to begin floating just enough to be able to walk on land. The Sumuta are fresh water mulluscoids adapted to the tropical streams of the Soto region and the Sumuta lake which is where millions of Sumuta have lived for ages.

They’re around 7’ on average from the top of their air filled mantle to the tip of their 'toe' sub-tentacle and are remarkably dexterous and intelligent critters. Though their strength is pretty weak, making them dependant on other races and machines to due the heavily lifting.

Side Chosen in Void War: Aldabetan Republic

Technological Level: Advanced in regards to design, are very good at engineering design. However, their economy is still a manufacturing oriented one and their military spending spree has given them some innovations of note mainly in having developed computing system and whatnot. Their spacecraft are remarkably maneuverable, but lack the damage output or advanced defenses of say, the Cindoryai Empire. They inherited a fair amount of tech from their trade relations with the Aldabetans.

Tech to note:
-They have machines/drones
-Very competent with magnetics.
-They have the capability to build orbital infrastructure, most notably they have been trying to make an orbital city with some help.
-Have been working on orbital kill satellites and have launched a couple in the past year taking advantage of the Cindoryai's weakened space infrastructure.

Special Resource: Ethermaterial, a bubbly building material with aerogel-like properties they have huge stores of within the Soto highlands. Ethermaterial is used very liberally by them.

Name of Nation: Union of Kor
Nation Characteristics:
Government: Elective Monarchy
The Tari are ruled over by a High King who is elected into position by a council. Those eligable for becoming High King are the various Lords of the Union of Kor. The council is made up of various Lords, Mayors of city states within Union of Kor, and the High Priest of state religion. Powers granted to High King are a special unified army to enforce peace within the Union of Kor.
Land is ruled over by various Lords, Mayors, and the High Priest have own private armies which in past were used to war among themselves. Nowadays the private armies function as peace keepers/police/enforcers.
History: The current Union of Kor is the eight iteration of Union of Kor having collapsed seven times previously into civil war when a new High King could not be elected due to no majority winner. This Union of Kor was founded in 1864 and has not had a internal war between Lords since 1937. The Union of Kor only opened borders to trade in 1907 and kept a extremely neutral stance officially in world but would let mercenary companies be bought by anyone. The previous High King decided to side with the Aldabetan in the Void War but freely allowed mercenary companies to be bought by other side. Current High King elected after death of previous High King has a much more pro-Cindorayi views.
Culture: Tari have little value for life due to there biology and generally do not even value there own young before they reach mid-stage towards adulthood. Cannibalism is not uncommon in the poor of Union of Kor. The Tari have a flexible yet rigid caste system.
At bottom of caste are the workers who are bulk of population and generally do the manual labor jobs which are plentiful due to rigid hate of automation. Tari value strength and see unnecessary automation as lazy. Second tier of caste is warriors who preform all roles where combat is involved from police to soldiers. The warrior caste is the second largest and worker caste. The third and smallest caste are the priest case who are those born with defects. Tari view those that hatch with a defect such as blindness or physical deformity as special and they are taken in by the celibate priest caste. Final caste which is the gold caste who are rich merchants, and nobility. A Tari when they reach adulthood will go into worker caste where they can become rich merchants or can join the warrior caste. Only nobility of the gold caste and priest caste are rigid where they are never allowed to change caste.
The value in strength and little value for own lives causes the warrior caste to be used in brutal tactics involving just trying to drown enemies in sheer numbers. Once common wars within Union of Kor would suffer massive casualties as government troops are generally equipped poorly. The poor equipment resulting in many mercenary companies that work for highest pay so they can afford proper equipment.
Religion: Religion is still as it always has been for the Tari a very important part of government and culture. The religion of Tari is a form of ancestral worship where the dead are eaten so that spirit is trapped in living Tari. Priest caste are exempt from this cannibalism and instead are interned in elaborate crypts under temples.

Species Name: Tari
Species Characteristics: Tari are divided up into two major ethnic groups. The stocky built flat faced and lighter built long faced Tari. As the name indicates flat faced Tari have a flat face which causes variety of respiratory issues and they possess three fingers with a thumb. Meanwhile the long faced Tari who have a long reptilian snout, large tails, ornamental horns, and two fingers with a thumb.
In general Tari are bipedal with two arms and tough hides covered in scales. The average natural lifespan of a Tari 120-160 years. Tari start out as a egg that hatches after two years then take average of 8-10 years to reach adulthood. A female Tari can lay a clutch of 3-6 eggs every year. It takes a newly hatched Tari 4-5 years to develop its brain for it to be sentient.
Despite the very reptillian appearance Tari are not cold blooded but they are not warm blooded. The blood of Tari is lukewarm blooded to fuel there rapid development into adults. Tari are hardy species that can live comfortably in a variety of environments though flat faced Tari respitory issues cause them to be less suited compared to long faced Tari. The only differences in Tari male and females is female long faced Tari lack horns and both ethnic groups have lighter colored males and darker colored females. Tari scales are all the same color and individuals can be browns, greens, grays, and very rare white.

The Union of Kor officially only has a handful of nuclear fission powered communication satellites. Most powerful Merchants and the largest Mercenary Companies though have there own private communication satellites. A two person unarmed space station powered by nuclear fission is the biggest space presence Tari have.
Space Presence: Very Tiny.

Vaspen Empire

History Of The Empire: The Empire was founded on September 20th of 1894, after the military led a successful coup d’etat of the Mad King. The military leaders realized after the coup d’etat that the people would never support any move on their part to take the throne, so they looked far and wide to find a suitable candidate to replace the Mad King. They eventually settled on the king’s distant nephew Johannes Vaspen (1869-1934) , he was called to the capital under false pretenses and was astonished to find that he had been chosen to take the throne. Emperor Johannes enacted many successful reforms to improve the small maritime countries’ economy, production base, and mining capabilities. After these economic reforms were put in place, Emperor Johannes put new educational, and social policies into place to promote the sciences, and free thinking. He also reformed the political and social system by repealing the class system and allowing the masses to determine their own destiny. However before he could see the benefits of these policies, he passed away unexpectedly at 65 years old.
Passing the throne to his son Maxwell Vaspen (1910-1990), Maxwell continued in his father’s footsteps. Expanding the people’s rights, and continually enacting policy to further scientific development. However early on in his reign foreign spies stole top secret military weapon designs. This prompted Emperor Maxwell to establish an anti-espionage agency, which quickly became known as the VEA. This Agency focuses it’s expertise on internal security rather than actively monitoring other Nations movements, but it is equally skilled in doing both. (This Agency is considered the best espionage, and anti-espionage agency in existence.) Some of Emperor Maxwell’s final Policies, were the establishment of a national space program,(VSA) and a increase in funding for the military to update their weaponry.
Realizing the rising tensions on the main continent Emperor Karl Vaspen (1945-2023), encouraged the scientific development of new kinds of weapons and the expansion of the Vaspen armed forces. In addition to expanding the armed forces Emperor Karl pushed the VSA to step up their presence in orbit to include more satellites and to start researching spaceflight and it’s long term effects. The Emperor also ordered research to be prioritized for a new mineral found in their southern mountains, that had previously been undiscovered which is to be named Vaspenite (Found 2010). Vaspenite was found to be extremely efficient at creating electromagnetic fields, and our scientists predict that with some more research into this they may be able to create a working force field prototype by 2030.
Emperor Wolfgang Vaspen (1980-Present), wary like his father of any global war saw the 2 separate factions emerging, and setup a meeting with the leaders of both to publicly declare his neutrality. This meeting also setup Vaspen as one of the few safe Havens during the war. However the real reason Vaspen was never dragged into the war, was due to two things.

First: Because of Vaspen’s geographical location and composition, the territory itself gave almost no benefits to justify conquering it. And due to the mountain range in the far south the inhabitants could hold up there and conduct hit and run tactics on the opposing forces, tying up men and supplies.

Second: Because of Emperor Karl’s prioritizing of military, and defense technology, any attempt to assault the small kingdom would result in massive casualties due to the small yet significant difference in technology. And as a fallback plan the force field prototype, while large and bulky, would be able to defend the mountain range in the south from any major artillery bombardment, or explosion. (temporarily)
While the war raged on all around the Empire remained stolidly neutral acting as a refuge for those who escaped the destruction and death, all the while slowly building, and developing new technology for the future. When the war did finally come to a conclusion the Vaspen empire remained slightly ahead technologically, and actually had a military presence in space, consisting of a small fleet that while highly trained and equipped is still out gunned by the larger more numerous, but less technologically advanced Cindorayi Empire and it’s allies.

National Characteristics: The Vaspen Empire is considered a absolute monarchy, with a few caveats. The Empire is a monarchy in the sense that there is one family that hereditarily rules the country, however the heir selection process is somewhat complicated. First the current leader typically sires 5-6 heirs so that he may have a selection to choose an intelligent, and kind leader. Until the Emperor announces his heir, he has a selection hidden away in a safe incase he passes away unexpectedly. The princes and princesses compete to gain the favor of their father and the court officials that carry favor with the Emperor. When the heir that has been chosen takes the throne all of their siblings either swear fealty to them, or are exiled and stripped of title. Speaking of court officials, typically they serve for life once appointed however there have been a few exceptions, however anyone can be appointed.
The people of Vaspen number 25 million people, concentrated mostly on the two rivers on both sides of our little continent. With smaller population densities in the north in the plains and forests, and in the mountains at one of the few geothermal plants. The Empire’s economy is primarily focused on the research and sale of new weapons technologies, and improvements in civilian, agricultural, and industrial efficiency. The research of these new technologies, and advancements employ 45% of the workforce, and the sale of these makes up 67% of the Empire’s GDP. While Agriculture, Fishing, Space exploration, and Energy production, represent 5%, 7%, 12%, and 9%, respectively.

Species: Wolfen: Humanoid-Wolf like, typically 5.5-6ft tall, well built. They Appear very wolf
like, large ears and muzzle like nose, they also have a large amount of hair covering their arms, legs
and torso to help them survive the harsh winters. They have a slightly longer lifespan than a normal
human, but do possess some enhanced senses of their wolf kin such as: Enhanced sense of hearing, smell,
night vision, and cold resistance.

Side Chosen: Neutral, However some of our elite soldiers have participated on both sides of the
conflict, earning medals of commendation for valor from both sides.

Technological Level: Near Cindorayi, while being comparable to most modern nations The Vaspen Empire
focused primarily on researching defensive technology during and after the void war. As a result The
Vaspen Empire has the most advanced defensive technology in the known world, the expense of
almost all other scientific field.

Space Presence: Very Small, very few, but highly advanced ships, capable of taking on a fleet of double
it’s size due to the electromagnetic shields all ships are equipped with.

this mineral is extremely efficient at creating powerful electromagnetic field, however our scientists
claim the true potential of this material is yet to be tapped, so it requires more time to work out the

GRAND PROTECTORATE OF LITHLA

Nation History (1919-2036): Established in 1919 following the assassination of Empress Lilith V and her two sons, the Grand Protectorate of Lithla was established first as a regency, to facilitate the selection of a new monarch from among the Noble Lithlan Houses. Competing rivalries and an ever shifting bloc of Regency Councillors bought out by the noble houses brought about a deadlock in the Regency Council and no progress of any sort being made in regards to the election of the Monarchy. As a result, the Protectorate was plagued with unrest that culminated in the election of a Grand Regent, ruling as a stand-in monarch until the Regency Council could come to a decision.

In 1982, tensions broke out between the Aldabetans and the Lithlans, with the annexation of the neutral state of Ryuvia on the southern shore of Lake Tannyl. A brief war was fought along the Tannyl River that ended with a ceasefire and the creation of a Ryuvian Republic under joint Aldabetan and Lithlan control.
In 2026, Aldabetan influence in Ryuvia reached its peak with the election of the pro-Aldabetan Alosrin Yinmyar. Under Yinmyar’s presidency, Ryuvia drifted ever closer to the Aldabetan camp, culminating in a petition for annexation in 2032.

Following the outbreak of the Void War, Lithla quickly threw its lot in with the Cindorayi, dispatching over 100 000 soldiers supported by 2000 tanks, 10 000 cavalrymen and 80 flights of bombers to overwhelm the Aldabetan lines across the Tannyl River. What was expected to be a quick push across the river soon turned into a stalemate, as both sides entrenched themselves in hastily built bunkers and trench lines on the west bank and turned the front into a slow meatgrinder. The tide turned in July of 2036, with the launch of a Lithlan laser-satellite into the lower atmosphere of Nova Mondial, carving a hole into the trench lines of the Aldabetans and allowing Lithlan armored divisions to punch through and establish a new front line 20 kilometres from the Aldabetan capital of Lakeside.

The shedding of Lithlan blood over the Tannyl River proved to be in vain however, as the Cindorayi broke their promises to the Protectorate, ceding them only the eastern bank of the Tannyl River, and thus only half of the territory of the former Ryuvian Republic that was offered in exchange for Lithlan participation. The broken promises of the Cindorayi led to a downward spiral in relations, one that continues to cloud the political atmosphere of Lithla.

Nation Characteristics: Nominally an absolute monarchy, the Grand Protectorate can best be described as a constitutional dictatorship. A Grand Regent is elected by the will of the Regency Council to preside over the governance of the state for life, with power over the military, appointment of ministers, foreign affairs and economic matters. As of the year 2056, the Protectorate has been in regency for over a century, leading to some foreign commentators to dub it as ‘The Eternal Regency’.

Owing to the nation’s extensive time as a feudal empire before transitioning into an absolute monarchy in comparison with its neighbours, Lithla maintains loyalty, honour and fidelity as its most important tenets. In Lithlan culture, the lowest of non-noble society are those who fail to atleast make an attempt to honour their agreements. Serfdom too remains a common practice in Lithla, though it is massively different from what it was in the past. Legally, Lithlans can still sign a contract of indentured servitude, or be placed in serfdom for an outstanding debt, but aristocratic families no longer desire to chain their own people to the fields and the mines when automation and machinery perform much better. In addition to that, Lithlan indentured servants or serfs are still allowed considerable freedom of movement and are only obligated to serve their lords for 10 months per year, with the serfs being freed for a period of two months before returning to serfdom the following year.

Lithla’s economy is primarily focused on high quality heavy industry, employing 41% of the workforce and making up around 55% of the country’s GDP, whereas agriculture, retail, tourism and space exploration make up 4%, 19%, 10% and 12% of the economy respectively.

Initial Population: 45 million; Concentrated on the coast of Lake Tannyl, the east bank of the River Tannyl and the vast plains in between the lake and the Kaina Mountains that make up the Protectorate’s eastern borders.

Species: Lithlans
Characteristics: Humanoid and slender, often reaching up to 6 feet tall. Lithlans have uniquely pointed ears and slanted eyes. A unique feature of the Lithlans is their unnaturally long lifespans, with the average lifespan of a Lithlan edging 800 years. However, their long lifespans come with an unusually short fertility period in comparison. A Lithlan is only fertile for a period of 150 years, from the age of 75 to 225, which when coupled with a slow gestation period of 6 years, leads to a slower rate of growth than most other races. Lithlans also possess heightened reflexes and instincts, often able to sense danger and manuever faster than most other species.

Technological Level: Near-Cindorayi.

Owing to the small but elite full-time military that rarely numbers more than 400 000 active personnel, the Protectorate has always maintained a focus on superior technology to make up for its deficiency in numbers. As a result of their alliance with the Cindorayi, (despite a slight debacle over Western Ryuvia) the Protectorate fields a state-of-the-art Atmospheric Laser Bombardment Satellite, an improvement over the one that devastated Aldabetan lines in the Void War. Whilst Lithla lacks some of the Cindorayi’s advancements in technology such as a space-elevator or railguns, the Protectorate makes up for it in other ways, being the pioneers of bullet-resistant polymer body suits that have become near-standard issue to its military forces. One peculiarity of Lithlan technology however, is the near absence of armored tank divisions in the years following the Void War. Instead, Lithla began fielding elite cavalry in the age of the automatic rifle. Utilizing the same bullet-resistant polymer as the ones used in infantry equipment, Lithla has practically brought about a revival of the cavalry charge as their famed Ouroboric Knights ride once more, unabated by machine gun fire.

Space Presence: Small.

Whilst Lithla maintains a small colony on Lunoi with a population of around ten thousand, the majority of Lithlan Space Exploration efforts have been focused on Europia, and even then, only a small research outpost of some two hundred permanent residents has been established.

Special Resources: Osmolian Gems

While Lithla has benefitted little from their presence on Lunoi and Europia, the Kaina Mountains on Lithla’s eastern border are rich in Osmolian Gems, capable of amplifying the intensity of light passing through it by up to 100 times, which has seen massive application in Lithla's atmospheric laser-bombardment satellite as well as in the laser technology developed by the Cindorayi.

Name of Nation: Greater Union of Veluca (Official) Velucan Republic (Shortened) Velucan Directorate (Unofficial)

Nation Characteristics:
-Government: In theory, Veluca is the largest democracy of the world with its 300 million people, but there hasn't been an election since the end of the void war as foreign threat and meddling prevent the Union from showing a moment of weakness. Still, this has been over 20 years ago, half the lifespan of a kobold, and so whole generations have never tasted democracy and the entire system has become quite militarized as power is shared between a couple super corporations and the administration that is now entirely military. This military industrial complex is in turn not headed especially by the strategists who have taken a backseat since its been so 'long', but rather by technical experts who lead the country like an engineer a building project rather than a general an army.

-Culture:The kobolds never really had a culture outside of long forgotten tribal roots, having instead being colonies and protectorates of one or another nation through the years. Their culture was thus not stained by 'history' and rather than making the Kobold culture 'shallow' as others would call it, it allowed them to build a culture from the ground up and shaped the kobolds into what an elite of people wanted them to be: Daring Builders and Explorers! The past is terrible, the present isn't all that great either, but in the future the hopes of the nation are!

-History: Liberated by the Aldabetan Republic and forged into a union mainly made to facilitate resource extraction and exportation to the republican mainland, the kobolds showed surprising zeal in their industrialization. Although they were never considered equals by anyone at any point during their history, after the void war, the kobolds have proven themselves able to explore the darkest corners of the solar system and muster an impressive force ready to rush forward into the unknown.

Nation Location: Orange on the map.

Nation Initial Population: 300m

Species Name: Kobolds

Species Characteristics: Small, weak and short lived, these tiny reptiles also have a reputation of extreme stupidity, but this is only true in the fact that they have a very wide distribution of intellect. The dumbest individual in existence will most likely be a kobold, but likewise this race produces a surprising amount of genius per capita.

Side Chosen in Void War: Aldabetan, though Veluca was a sideline for most of the conflict that used the war to industrialize massively to produce goods for the Aldabetan warmachine, though after the war they were quick to jump on a chance for peace.

Technological Level: Modern, but with huge gaps from places to places, with people still living an almost medieval lifestyle as farmers in the hinterlands of the Union.

-The Deep Fleet: A lesson from the Void war was that surface assets are easily destroyed by space weapons and long range missiles, as such, the navy of the Union is, outside of small, fast, agile but short range coastal strike crafts, are made of enormous submarines, ranging from submerged battleships and carriers to pocket 'Submarine Fighters' hidden from the Empire's eye in the sky.

-Air and Land: Hammer and Anvil: Veluca believes in tanks and bombs, lots of them. Their tanks are widely considered inferior, but are numerous to the extreme and shielded enough to allow a couple years of life to its crew should the nation be nuked. Likewise the air force is serviced by many solar and atomic powered aircrafts that spend month in the air in international airspace to strike a devastating second strike to any who would menace the Union. Speed and firepower are the main focus of the airforce. The bombers won't come back, but they'll go through!

-The Space Force: Technically complying: Many designs of space elevators and other more fancy designs have been made, but the Union knows it would frustrate the Empire into action, something it cannot afford at the moment. So, the Union had to make do with simply having one of the largest conventional rocket cosmodrome of the world. That's not to say they are without resources though... Kobolds like to build big, but they can also build small. Experimental kill vehicles, disguised as used rocket debris of previous launches, still orbit the planet, in theory capable of inflicting catastrophic damage to space stations by suddenly accelerating into them should war occur.

Special Resource: Room temperature superconducting material 'ERZAT'. Incredibly useful to make anything maglev related or the newest kind of super computers, Erzat was until recently exported to the world freely, though it has since then been nationalized as a strategic resource worth too much to send anywhere outside the nation.

Name of Nation: Famsidian Union
Nation Characteristics: The Famsidian Union was founded in 1744 as a confederation of loosely connected Famsidian smaller countries. It was intended to be a way to provide common protections and resources while still providing each individual country's autonomy. A limited power republic based government was put in place to oversee things to mixed results. Since then, centralized power has grown under tense operations. The culture of the countries are very diverse which both adds to their ability to adapt, and growing disagreements. In the years since the forming of the confederation, it has gradually became a federation with increasing power. The autonomy of the smaller countries is not as great proportionally anymore which is just one of the many contentious issues circulating throughout the increasingly divided nation. In 1994, the country nearly went to civil war, but it was averted from peaceful negotiations and reworking of the law system to allow more Famsidian voices, and increasing the size of the Union Congress at the central government for more representation. This has worked... for now.

Nation Location: Nova Mondial, southwest continent, southwest block.
Nation Initial Population: 76.2 million
Species Name: Famsidian
Species Characteristics: Famsidians (as shown) have four arms, which has made them more coordinated for tool use and multitasking. However, they are not very good at defense without it, and are slow to move due to having to move a larger body.
Side Chosen in Void War: Most are neutral (65%), second most agree with the Cindorayi (23%), few with Aldabetan (12%) although those that agree with the Aldabetan tend to be more extreme. The disagreements have so far made the nation stay neutral.
Technological Level: In addition to the base technologies, there is a lot of general research, primarily into consumer products for commerce, and manufacturing. 3D printers are as standard as desks, and knowledge how to use them is like literacy (over 99.9%). This also includes a well tracked recycling program and resource management system. Computers are common, including networks, though not very advanced beyond Earth 2000 level. More nationally, the biggest industries are mining, agriculture, and architecture. More locally, it is very diverse but spread thin as well. For example, there is a monopoly on telephones and there hasn't been much innovation or developments beyond a national phone service. Space travel involves satellites and a fast growing space program. Interplanetary probes have been sent, but no crew-based missions have been attempted beyond orbit as of yet. Although plans to begin space colonization are on the way.
Special Resource: Famsdamen - not really valuable materials on their own, but a highly efficient fuel when processed correctly. It can be used for long-range travel at the cost of power. While it can allow travel for otherwise unheard of lengths without using much at all, it isn't going to make the journey fast. Analagously, if a barrel of oil would be two days, this would take a teaspoon and a week. Burning more also doesn't add much to speed either. On the plus side, it can allow a lot more room for larger spaceships or vehicles because the conventional fuel equation isn't as prohibiting. Of course, those also take a lot more build time and other resources.

Name of Nation: Pokash

Nation Characteristics: Though dim-witted by many standards, the hatalmawsh of Pokash defend their homeland with ferocity and pride. The hatalmawsh's biological incapability to second-guess its own beliefs makes for a bigoted species that has trouble understanding others and engaging in diplomacy with foreign nations. Pokash disguises its every negotiation as a rancorous demand: "PROVIDE A PORT TO BUY OUR GOODS." "ENGAGE IN PEACE TALKS." "ACCEPT 3,000,000 CREDITS IN AID, DAMN YOU." Hatalmawsh culture values 'bigness' as the ultimate standard of beauty and authority. The swamp is good because it is big enough to sustain us, the trees are good because they are big enough to live in, the mountains are good because they are big enough to defend our land, and Boss Hash is the boss because he is taller than you or me.

Nation Location: Nova Mondial. Southern mountain range on large eastern continent, and an area of forest west of them.

Nation Initial Population: 53 million

Species Name: Hatalmawsh

Species Characteristics: Like a furry ball on stilts, the three-legged hatalmawsh strides through swamps and scales cliffsides with ease, thanks to webbed claws on each long, spindly limb. Its bulbous abdomen is covered in slimy strands of hair. Three beady black eyes, one centered between each pair of shoulders, look out in all directions. To feed, the carnivorous hatalmawsh traps its prey with its legs and settles down to gore it with a tough beak on the underside of its spherical belly, later vomiting out the bones and waste. The creatures communicate through touch and vocalizations.

Side Chosen in Void War: Strong allegiance to the Cindorayi due to history of trade and support.

Technological Level: Pre-modern technology - the hatalmawsh have traded for modern-era devices, but have failed to implement the innovations of ideas, such as the assembly line, that would allow them to produce their own technologies at a large scale. As such, most hatalmawsh make do with what they can personally scavenge and create. The wealthy make use of luxury technologies from foreign nations, making Pokash rely heavily on imports to remain relevant on the world stage. The nation has little space presence. Every few years it launches another doomed satellite, sometimes manned by an unfortunate crew, to crash and burn and leave the hatalmawsh scientists scratching their furred abdomens over what could've gone wrong.

Special Resource: Tiger drop mushrooms, a potent narcotic native to the Pokash swamps. A profitable trade is done worldwide by smuggling the stuff into nations that outlaw it. Pokash itself allows recreational use of the drug, partially because of the profits it hauls in from the flood of tourists to its heavily-taxed tiger drop parlors.
