Oh and I like what you came up with for the days! We could use those!

As for the stars, moon and any other celestial objects, they are visible everywhere except Varya itself, where the sky is either a stark featureless white or a muddy dark grey.

As for the sun, I've hinted at this in the IC, but it exists as a sort of unknown, nameless entity that society has been conditioned to sort of ignore and endure. It lights up the world, but provides no heat, so it's just kind of part of the landscape. Some also view the sun as having a connection to the Fire Titan, which further adds to the strange custom of ignorance surrounding it.

Well, I can tell you, in both the Arctic and Antartic, there are periods of time when there may be no day or no night. I don't know if that would apply here, since we don't actually have a north or south pole, do we?

You know, I've just realised something.

Warband Seraph has a lot of bad things happen to it.

To be honest, while I like the idea of changing season names (though I suggest instead of "warm" season making it the "bright" or "light" season in contrast to the "dark"), I generally dislike changing the names of week days. Maybe it's just because I constantly got confused by the practice as a kid, but I think it's needless complexity. You could change symbology, such as every Monday having a morning hour before breakfast dedicated to worship of Varya, but changing their names seems too confusing to me.

Also, perhaps we change spring and fall to be the dawn and dusk seasons? The most major difference in this world is the light hours, so perhaps we could keep that as a strong thematic in the seasons.

@Draken I love the idea of dawn and dusk seasons! AAAH! Not sure about bright or light season...but I'll go with the popular opinion there.

the whole thing with day names is precisely why I favor naming them by number, actually.

[@CollectorOfMyst I think it's because of conservation of detail, in part. They're the only one that's NOT us, and is also recent.

Or there could be a curse, sure. =P I kinda figured there were a lot of disasters in Leviathan, though it's explicitly stated that no students died in training activities in Phoenix so that kinda rules them out.

@Lovejoy I have to say yet again that I love the thought that's gone into this, and I love helping to build this world. <33 In fact, everyone has such great ideas. I'm just the noisiest. ^.^;;

Okay, I say we go with shy's days of the week and Draken's seasons proposal, and just keep the calendar to twelve months. Now for month names...

I love the idea of luminosity being the main reason behind seasons, since the temperature is generally just "fucking cold" all the time. :p

Hm, what if we just had two seasons for two halves of the year? The Bright season and the Dark season. Would this work?

Dawn and Dusk festivals on the solstices. Boom. We're good now.

(And by "festival" I mean print on the calendar. I don't think Varya itself would place much value on celebrations, but the other nations likely did.)

@Lovejoy Well I figured the "warm" season was warm ONLY by comparison. Given that normal for them is probably freezing or below, they'd notice the difference more than we would if we visited. Also I was figuring that was the growing season. And there's probably some sort of storm-related festival on the equinoxes...equinices? whateverrrrr.

@Lovejoy YESYESYES

he was on a couple days ago, but he's having trouble obtaining access. I know he doesn't have it on weekends. Holding onto hope that he can still play. I was enjoying the start of Rodion and Ziotea's dynamic.

I was going to post Tatiana's perspective of the last bit before we went to the Glacier, but I figured it might be easier if you moved us there first as I don't have much to write about at the moment. Is that a possibility?

There's actually going to be something Tatiana-specific in the next reply, concerning her dad. So, you can reply after that. :)

@Scout One imagines the Indira knew about the Circle because she saw it herself. I don't know. Just a guess.

BUT NOW! The plot thickens... Ashe-Rahn...

I actually want to see if I can decode the transmission myself now... dang it, Lovejoy!

@CollectorOfMyst I think Vivica was wondering how Indira knew about the existence of this book and how she knew that Viveca would be able to find the book in the catacombs, which is a mystery in itself.

Also, one thing that @Scout didn't mention, the book is a diary of sorts belonging to the boy in the sarcophagus.

As for the transmission, I'll be PMing the actual content of it to you and @OppositionJ at the start of Chapter 1, which we're almost getting to!

EDIT: Oops! Misread your post, Myst! Yeah, you're right. Indira knows about the circle because she, along with any other inquisitors who have Omestrian blood flowing through them, all glimpse it in their Culmination visions.
