Name: Falk Freebird
Age: 21
Height: 6'1
Weight: 180
Race: Human
Appearance: Falk is a tall caucasian male, perhaps a bit on the slender side. He has tousled golden hair that he usually keeps on the long side, and striking blue eyes. He's lean, and looks skinny at first. However, he's actually in excellent shape, and covered in sleek muscle. He often wears his costume under his clothes, and if he wants to fight crime he just puts on his helmet.
imgur.com/a/Go8V2Abilities: Falk has no actual superpowers. He is a human. That said, he has gone through a lot of training, meaning he is a particularly badass human.
Falk is in excellent physical condition. Before he became a hero he was really into skating, and he's pretty much built for it. He can do insane stunts, and even without his equipment, he pretty much never falls. His reaction time in particular is very, very fast, able to keep up with even supers in that regard.
Falk is good at building devices and gadgets. He's doing several college engineering courses despite being a high schooler. He can often replicate gadgets made by other heroes in principle, though usually they aren't as strong.
Weapons and Items: What makes Falk able to go toe-to-toe with demons, mutants, and other heavy-hitters of NYC are his gadgets.
XTREME Sports Gear: Falk's hero costume. It consists of ballistic gel under armor with ceramic plates. The plates will easily block bullets or knives, though particularly heavy weapons will punch through it. They cover his chest, arms, shoulders, legs, elbows, neck, spine, and groin.
The ballistic gel is lightweight, but absorbs massive amount of impact. Think of it as a very high-tech cushion: If he wipes out, it will usually stop him from breaking his neck. It also softens the blows from anything that gets through the plate. It usually won't stop it (It's not as effective if whatever's hitting it has a small point of impact) but it will prolly make it less likely to kill him.
Incorporated into his suit are several cables and springs. These work as shock absorbers. They're mostly in his arms and legs. They make it so that if he uses his grapple gun it doesn't tear his arm off, and if he punches someone at 500 MPH it breaks their face instead of his arm. The ones in his legs also let him jump up to 25 feet in the air, and the ones in his arms let him punch through a car.
He can set the tension in his armor. Raising the tension makes it harder to move. He uses this to work out.
The armor is very lightweight and flexible, and he can easily wear it under his clothes. It makes his butt look great.
XTREME Helmet: A modified motorcycle helmet. For obvious reasons, Falk's head is the most protected part of his body. Most guns can barely dent it. Not even a sniper rifle can punch through (Though the impact would probably knock him out and leave him concussed.)
The helmet itself has more or less the same functions a modern day smartphone has: He can use it to talk to allies, check the weather, take photos or video, even browse the web. The camera allows him to use thermal vision and infrared, letting him see perfectly well in the dark or other low-visibility conditions. It also has headlamps. He can turn the brightness up high enough to blind opponents.
Integrated into the helmet is a filtration system, protecting him from most gasses. Like tear gas won't affect him one bit with this thing on.
XTREME Skates: Falk wears a pair of large boots into battle. The heels are somewhat elevated, because they house one of his more ingenious inventions: A retractable set of wheels, made of ultramodern high-friction material. These are hooked up to a computer located in the crotch of his XTREME Sports Gear. This computer uses feedback to move the axles and motors in the boots in response to his body. Essentially, the skates do whatever he wills them to. The wheels can self-propel him up to 300 MPH. He doesn't usually go that fast 'cause it's really dangerous, and he'd have to accelarate up to it anyways. They can even go up walls for a couple seconds.
The skates also have LEDs on them. When he turns them on they glow and leave trails of light behind him. He put them in because he wanted to use it to impress girls. It does look pretty cool but also makes him very visible.
Smoke Bombs: Each one is about the size of a golf ball. He can squeeze them to arm them. Once he arms a bomb, an impact such as being thrown will activate it. When it activates, the bomb will begin to spew massive amounts of brightly colored dense smoke. It's almost impossible to see in it, and it will burn your eyes and lungs if you breathe it in. It's not particularly dangerous, but it's extremely unpleasant and disorienting.
Variable Ray Gun: Falk used funding from his grant to buy a used energy weapon off an online auction. He's modified it for his own use. This gun fires rays instead of a projectile. Thus, there is no recoil. Combined with the fact that he has a camera on the end of it that can interface with his helmet and serve as a scope, it as a very accurate weapon. The laser beams that the weapon use to work travel at the speed of light. However, there is a delay before it takes effect. In practice, dodging the effect of the beams is similar to dodging a projectile going at 1300 mph. The beams are still light, so they bounce off of reflective surfaces such as mirrors. It has three firing modes:
Electric Ray: By shooting a green laser, the gun ionizes the air, electrocuting anything it touches. The shock produced is on par with a stun gun: It will disable most opponents. Even very large enemies can be brought down in a couple shots. It's effect is especially pronounced if the subject is wearing metal armor. Also, it will destroy most electronics.
Freeze Ray: When this blue beam hits a solid object, it will coat it in about an inch of ice. It can cover about 2 square meters (Enough to cover an adult male.)
Heat Ray: This red beam heats up any object it touches. Combustible objects such as wood, people, or cloth will find perfectly cauterized holes about the size of a pencil in themselves. It's not very good with armor, though he can melt metal with sustained fire. Falk doesn't usually use it on people unless he feels he has to, but it makes an excellent cutting tool. That said, due to the fact that it cauterizes wounds it leaves it is almost never lethal.
WHAMMO: A bat. It's made of a special titanium-based alloy. It can be filled with rocket fuel, and it has a booster near the top on one side. When he activates it, the thruster makes the bat swing incredibly hard. He can send cars flying and knock over trees with it. This is strictly for fighting supers: Hitting a normal person with this would definitely kill them. He can also use the fuel to propel him at high speeds if he's on skates, up to 100 miles pr hour.
It holds enough fuel for three swings. Rocket fuel is expensive.
Tether Gun: Mounted on his left wrist, this weapon fires a carbon nanofiber cable, tipped in a harpoon. When this harpoon hits something, additional spikes emerge from the base, hooking it into whatever it's hit. Falk can reel this hook in at speeds of up to 100 MPH, allowing him to quickly zip around. He needs his XTREME Sports Gear to use it without tearing his arm off, though.
Backstory: Falk won a pair of light-up roller skates on an online auction. On the day he received them, he went outside to the try them. When he returned, he discovered his house had been burglarized. Using some clever detective work he tracked down the man who stole it and beat him up while on roller skates. Later, the newspapers referred to him as "XTREME SKATER." Falk decided to roll with it.
