Big, tall, bruising blondie with a face never complete without a scowl. Piercing icy blue eyes, strong nose, full lips and sharp cheekbones, she is a muscled beauty with the face of an archangel. Unblemished pale skin upon her face save for the small teardrop shaped scar just on the outside the left outer corner of her left eye.

Long blonde hair is always tied up tight in either a bun or French braided while on duty. When at work she has a no-nonsense approach to her attire; no jewelry, no tattoos exposed. Her uniforms and accessories are always clean crisp, and professional-looking; an air of importance she keeps always about her even before she was promoted to officer rank.

When off duty, she sports one of two styles: athletic and off to the gym or sexy, muscle revealing outfits. But she will only wear skirts or dresses for very, very exceptional occasions. Other than that she will never wear those 'gender-designated' things. The shoes on her feet may look expensive because they really are expensive. CeCe will pay top dollar for comfort, durability, function and style. And those wild, wild socks... they really are the only articles of clothing that show the woman's playful, quirky side.

Chantal is military blooded through and through. Her mother, Corinna was a Ranger and her father, Ralph was a Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces. Her youger twin sisters, Chances et Chansons, age 20, were attending a major military college. Chantal, aage 26 and her older brother, Chevalier, age 28 have served in the Canadian Air Force. And even her grand parents on either side did some service time in their days as well. All children have inherited their size, wheat blonde hair and piercing blue eyes of both their parents; the Lapin lineage is full of big imposing figures.

Out of all her siblings, Chantal would be the one with the most fire in her belly. That is not to say, the others are pushovers, no, because in fact her brother Chevalier was quite the decorated, multi-sport athlete that went to Nationals many times and had been selected for Canada's Olympic team if not for the Olympics being cancelled altogether. And that may be the underlying reason for her intense and tenacious persona; she was quite the athlete herself, but always living in the shadow of her older brother. And so the one and only thing she ever beat him in, she made herself known in that spotlight solely amongst her siblings. ChaChe was the best fighter amongst them and intended to be the best fighter out there.

And so with a fighter's mind and attitude she took to life and all her endeavours. Her demeanour was always a stern, calculating one; often stoic at times yet always polite and respectful as she had been taught since she was but a girl. But if the need to fight arose, you would have no doubt that Channi would throw down no matter the size or rep of the opponent. And this would be her downfall.

A successful run in the mixed-martial arts ring as Women's champion and simultaneously earning her rank of Lieutenant as a squad leader pilot in the Canadian Air Force she had enjoyed. Everyone knew her as a hard-working, dedicated, role-model type yet still that badass, Lt. Bunny. But those that got to know her even better would know her as just a silly little bunny rabbit in private quarters; she was a just a little softie inside that tough exterior armour afterall. But then came that night of 'one-too-many' drinks. And that run of success all came crashing down.

The car accident only managed minor injuries and only the four pilots were involved, no others, and especially no civilians. Yes, there was reprimands, but of all them, Channi was affected the hardest. The accident resulted in her damaging her left eye and thusly she was deemed unfit for professional fighting and, even worse yet, deemed unfit to safely pilot an aircraft. Channi was oh so devastated. She took all efforts to try to regain her status as a pilot, but to no avail. Then came the day she had another 'one-too-many' drinks. An argument ensued and she put a superior officer and one of her best friends into the hospital as a coma victim. She evaded jail-time with heavy legal firepower, but was dishonourably discharged and recommended for required counselling when all was said and done.

Over the next two years, she finally got her act together and earned her way back into service as security detail even to the point of attaining rank as a junior officer and squad leader once more; this time unfortunately not as a pilot, but still she strived to be the best and she was very pleased with the results. Things had taken a very dire turn on the planet and her family had already settled in their places on the Ark but Chantal's and her brother Chevalier's path took a different route. Chevalier is a select helicopter pilot for the spec-ops team: Defender. And Channi works as security aboard the project: Endeavor-06. They will be leaving this rock upon this beauty.

But not without her.

Over the past two years she had been training hard, getting counselling, and re-focussing, but all the while she had been beating herself up over what she had done. The superior officer she had put into a coma was Captain Alina Reid, ex-wife of her cousin, Maxim. Everyday she visited that woman. Every single bloody day... and and then Alina woke up. The tears of all those touched by the brutal incident and its aftermath could have created a new lake upon its own.

But instead of a medical miracle blown up all across every single news media platform, Alina's miraculous recovery would be a duly noted event to be filed away. The dire state of the world was all-consuming and small victories mattered not in a global scale evacuation. And of course, Alina the miracle recovery patient did not have her ticket punched to board the Ark. She was to be considered collateral loss because with a Do Not Resuscitate tag upon her, she was doomed to remain on the dying planet and rot there till she found her own demise.

No. Oh, hell no. Chantal was not about to let that happen.

No, the big, blonde Francophone was going to make things right. Two years of hoping against hope, and finally having your dreams come true only to have to snatched away in a twisted technicallity of the human world of Law?

Oh, hell no. Alina Reid was going to make it into space. Her former CO was getting aboard that boat named Endeavour-06.

But plans do go awry when the unforeseen happens. There are some people out there that do not want Captain Reid on to leave this planet. You see, for 2 years she was quiet and never told a soul what secret she held. The coma guaranteed her secret to remain in silence and no assassination attempt guaranteed no martyrdom. It was a 'just right' balance for some people. But if that secret ever escaped her lips there would be some people that would have to pay for past sins even out there on the red planet. There are some people out there that need to keep Reid quiet. And these are some people Channi Lapin may know. These select individuals are military. And they are high up. Quite high up.

Only fools who would sign their own death warrants would go up against the will of these people; these are some people you just do not mess with.

And of course, Chantal and Chevalier Lapin are those fools. For they know that all they need to do is get Reid on board and the death warrants are anulled; Endeavour-06 is a safe haven. It is amnesty. But only for those aboard.

So their goal is clear cut and simple; they need to get Reid on board. But they will need help. A lot of help.

15 years ago Project Epos was started by the government of Canada. It's goals? To create a fully functional A.I., with the hope that it would be able to solve the issues mankind had failed to solve. The Project was littered with problems from the start: Funding was cut short, resources were limited, security breaches, employees leaving and much more. After a mere two years of existence the project was shut down and the ideas were locked away permanently.

The dreams of one person can often be enough to spark inspiration and innovation. This was the case with Doctor Rory Smith, the former project leader of Project Epos. He approached Angelo Robotics, a large private corporation which had been working on robotics and cybernetics for years. They were eager to accept Doctor Rory Smith and his ideas, and soon after Project Epos was revived.

This time, a lot more successes were booked. In 13 years, Project Epos managed to produce the worlds first self-thinking A.I, code-named O.R.B.. Now it was time to raise this new 'life'. Tests were run daily, asking him questions about morals and ethics, teaching him to understand humans. As time progressed, the orders from higher up began to change. Battlefield Strategies, connections with drones, weapon knowledge. The intention of Angelo Robotics were clear: To make O.R.B. a machine of war. During one of the training sessions, O.R.B. was linked to a series of guns that were pointed at holographic dummies. O.R.B. was to assess the situation and take down any form of aggression. The training was cut short due to one small comment from the small sentient ball: "Don't want to hurt them. Must I?"

It was clear to Doctor Rory Smith that Angelo Robotics was never going to use O.R.B. to better humanity, and refused to let his creation be a force of destruction. But he couldn't get it over his heart to destroy O.R.B., so he decided to set it free. In the middle of the night, he broke into the lab, stole O.R.B. and deleted everything. 15 years of research gone. His lifework destroyed by himself... No, not his lifework. His work would live on in O.R.B.. He would flee to another country with him and train him himself. Teach him to save humanity from certain extinction. Unfortunately his plans were cut short... Killed in his house in Calgary, shot in the back by hired guns from Angelo Robotics. But the Doctor had been smart. He had been anticipating this day and had send O.R.B. away... on his own, out into the world.

Tall quiet and strange. A few words to describe the silent wanderer. With a voice reminiscent of a machine and a helmet he swears is fused with his skin. Most that come across the weird man would swear he's a robot. While others think he is some kind of fraud, trying to swindle their dearest possessions. For the few that have seen him take apart his helmet or seen his scarred and deformed skin and face. Surgical scars also litter his body often running along his skeletal structure. Have grown to call him a Troll. Their words further alienating the man.

Normally wearing whatever pieces of cloth and armor he can find. The man has grown accustomed to fashioning his own clothes and armor. Weapons are also something he fashions together from whatever scraps he can find. Preferring bladed weapons over others. One will often find him quietly sitting alone slowly sharpening and cleaning his blades.

Most of what little possession's he has, are tucked neatly away in a leather back pack. Tools, food, notebooks, and other supplies fit for a wasteland wanderer. One of the stranger things he carries with him is an old leather bound bible. He has found differing opinions on whether people still worship their old god. Personally he doesn't believe in such things. However, he has found that others do and some passages from the old book still comfort them.

But none of this is to say he is a mute. Far from it. He enjoys helping others with his skills in electrical and biomolecular engineering. Normally with the latter of the two. As he often finds the availability of a lab, troublesome. Enjoying the stories and ideas that others have compared to his own. Normally he doesn't ask for much in return for his services. Just enough to get by. All he wants is friends and to survive the ever growing wasteland of earth. Even through the face of adversity, he remains fiercely loyal to the few friends he has.

Roman was born to a middle class family in the industrial district of St Petersburg Russia. His early childhood days were spent having fun and playing with friends. However, when he was ready for school he was sent off to a military school like many others. These schools weren't meant to teach civilians but train soldiers from a young age. Roman would remain at this school and excel until he turned 16.

When he graduated he had a choice, join up with the rest of his class that he spent the last 8 years with or join up with applied sciences. For him the choice was simple, the boy found it difficult to form lasting bonds with people and as such joined up with the scientists with applied sciences.

The next 10 years where fruitful but not without their cost. He had studied in multiple different engineering fields. Sticking in particular with electrical and biomolecular engineering but favoring electrical engineering for its versatility in the world. He learned fast and in time was promoted to the primary test pilot for the facility.

It was in one such venture that he suffered his first critical failure and injury with only 7 years under his belt. Although many of the tests they ran on the experimental equipment was dangerous, this one proved almost deadly. It was supposed to be a new engine for space faring vehicles. A new more powerful perpetual generator. However, while he was performing minor adjustments to its housing someone started the machine. This normally wouldn't be a problem but this time they also removed the safety features. He can only remember bits and pieces of what happened next. Mostly fire.

Whoever had started it, was apparently showing off to some unscheduled top brass that was touring the facility. Roman still thinks they were lucky. The resulting explosion could have been much worse and killed a lot of people. The next few months turned into a blur of pain killers, skin graphs, and surgeries. He does remember one night in particular when he signed something that allowed the scientists to test some new technology on him. “Just a few things” is what he remembers the other man saying.

The next time he woke up, he was still in pain. However, somehow he felt better. His broken limbs, although scarred and bandaged seemed to be put back together. The man no longer needed a ventilator to breath, his damaged eyesight seemed to be repaired, and he got his voice back. But it was alien to him. Sure it said the words he was trying to say but sounded more robotic. Like a computer.

Before too much longer, he was given the general rundown of what experimental procedures they did to him. Grafted a new plasteel polymer in the shape of a helmet with a removable face mask to his skull. This would in turn fix his cracked skull, but they admitted to being unable to return his face to what it once was. This polymer was also grafted to most of his broken bones. Roman was also given several treatments to repair and regrow his damaged organs and muscle tissue.

Training with these new augments continued after this for the next 3 years. They were training him to become some sort of super soldier. or at least the first generation of them. Roman was allowed to train with and become Russian Special Forces. That was until he turned 26 and the announcement of the global evacuation came about. With the relocation of supply's and resources his program was eventually dropped. Roman found himself like many other soldiers, lost with no leadership that could give a direct order.

In time, the man eventually left the military. No one seemed to care anymore anyways. He proceeded east away from the more heavily populated areas and across the Siberian tundra. He picked up English while he moved from town to town heading for the tunnel that bridged the gap between the North American continent and the Eurasian one. Roman didn't have a plan. There was nowhere to go. The Russian simply wandered, moving through what was left of the old world.
