Charlotte Jones
Escape.
That's all that Charlotte could think about as she scrambled about in the back-alleys, the maze of many different alleyways and lanes that made up the majority of her childhood. Normally she would've shaken the police chasing her, but a quick glance down at the blood that still oozed from her shoulder and from her burnt fingertips, falling with a soft
plop as it hit the cold concrete beneath was enough to see how she hadn't lost the cops.
The makeshift bandage, which was just some random person's curtain she had ripped down as she ran past, wrapped tightly around her left shoulder did little to stem the bleeding and it was already saturated, as was her entire left coat sleeve. She was lucky she wore a lot of red and black anyway, so even if she was in a crowd it wouldn't be as noticeable.
Well besides the soft
plopping noises which reminded her that it was still dripping off her fingers. She still couldn't believe she had gotten herself in this sort of mess,
again.
Her father was going to be furious with her regardless of what happened, just the severity of the punishment will depend on the outcome of this chase. Or it would, if she hadn't found herself suddenly free-falling straight into a tree.
"Fuck! Shit! Fucker! Cunt!"A lot of broken tree limbs and some more loud cursing later, the girl eventually came to a tumbling halt as she crashed into another nearby tree. This led to some more loud cussing, mostly of the 'fuck that fucking hurt' variety.
Groaning as loudly as she was in pain, Charlotte slowly rolled onto her stomach and laid there for a moment. What exactly had happened? What the hell did she trip on, and what the hell had she crashed through?
It still hadn't hit her that she was no longer in the alleyway till she smelt the dirt her face was currently buried in, her eyes slowly opening as she took in the site before her.
"The fuck?"Dirt? As in, soil dirt not just the 'dirty' alleyways. That which trees and plants grew, was currently quite literally in her face right now. Had she fallen through someone's window and into their greenhouse or something?
Like sure that made no sense, but it made the most sense in her current situation as she slowly pulled herself up so that she knelt on the ground. Quickly brushing the dirt from her face, the red head blankly took in her surroundings.
"...."So much for her greenhouse theory. She must be dead, or maybe she had hit her head on the ground was delusional? Who on
Ennui's god's green earth knew. For now, she just wanted to, needed to sit down for a moment.
Leaning up against the trunk of the tree she had crashed into, Charlotte tenderly poked around her wound, grimacing and cursing loudly as she did. Ok, so bad idea.
But she could still feel and move her arm, so despite the worrying nature of her bloodloss, she didn't think there was any major damage to it. Luckily, hopefully.
Ok, so she should probably still get it looked at. But with who? And where? She had no idea where she was, or how she got here.
As she pondered her increasingly worsening situation, the sound of snapping branches caught her attention. People?! That meant help! Hell, she didn't even care if it was the police chasing her at this point, help was help. After crashing through a tree and being shot, she needed medical attention.
"Hey! Help!" Without a second thought, she began calling out to whomever was making the snapping noises. Of course in hindsight this was a rather idiotic idea, but whether it was just how she acted normally or the loss of blood, maybe even some concussion, who knew.
"....You've gotta be fucking with me right now." Char groaned, soon regretting everything she had decided in life which led her to this moment.
Her plan had worked, that she couldn't deny, she got the attention of what was nearby. Unfortunately what was nearby was a small band of brown, sharp teethed little monstrosities that looked like they had walked straight out of a generic fantasy world and right in front of the young girl. They were clad in nothing more than cloth and had primitive clubs and axes as weapons, but for someone who wasn't used to
literal demons popping up in front of her they were quite a terrifying sight to behold.
Especially given there were about twenty of them, and one of her. Her course of action was obvious.
Scream at the top of her lungs, scramble to her feet and begin running for dear life as yet another chase was started that day. Just another ordinary day for the girl.
Orion
Orion was unsure how long it had taken him to reach his designation, and even more so that he was actually in the right place. He had followed mostly second hand rumours and whispers amongst some travelers who were looking to flee before the demon army ascended upon the rest of the realm, of course where they planned on fleeing was beyond Orion's thinking as there was nowhere to run in his eyes, so he wasn't exactly trusting of the information. But regardless, here he now stood.
The place was in a state of complete and utter disrepair, the buildings looking like a gentle breeze would cause them to crumble down and crush whomever happened to be inside at the time. Yet, still there seemed to be a small group gathering near the center as...humans began raining from the sky?
Ok, Orion had seen some crazy shit. But he couldn't help but stand gobsmacked at the fact that there was
literally people falling from the sky and no one seemed to be batting an eyelid at the sight. That had to be weirder than the fact that people were raining from the sky, the fact no one cared about it.
Blinking and shaking his head a few times to try and regain his composure, the little Kistune was about to venture into the camp when something else caught his eye.
This truly was a strange place, not only was there an *
orc chief, but there also seemed to be several humans, two Nekomata's, a dwarf, a humanoid clad in armor and a
dragon just casually perched about nearby like it owned the place. Which, knowing their race, it probably thought it did.
And to top it off, there were wormholes popping up and dropping nameless noobs who will act as cannon fodder for the roleplay, and no one was batting an eyelid at the sight bar Orion. Truly, nothing more spectacular than this existed.
Shelving those thoughts for now, he decided he might as well talk to whoever was in charge, probably warn them about the dragon which was
right there, about fifty metres away. Could be a future problem ya know?
But first, he was hungry. So after probably going unnoticed due to his size by everyone that he passed, he scooped up a bowl of curry and began munching away on a nearby log. His tail swished happily as he ate, obviously enjoying what was his first warm meal in days of travelling.
