Red Dragon Bone Guild
A world once hit by calamity enters an era of renewal. This is the story of adventurers that plunge into the depths like stars falling across the sky.
It had only been four generations since the calamity known as “The Great Tempest” happened. A powerful magical force ravaged the lands spreading itself through the ley lines of the planet which created a thick fog of chaos. It was only with the works of magic users using relics and wards created a great act of terraforming where chunks of land which were positively soaked in this energy was a catalyst to create large chunks of floating landmasses high above the chaos to weather this apocalyptic disaster out.
During the ensuing years although the maelstrom below would lessen it was still deemed too dangerous and costly to mount an expedition to reclaim the land below. Instead what happened was the creation of the phlogiston divers and the practicing of “dredging”. These brave folks donning special protective armor akin to diving suits would come down with magical markers to quickly mark land for elevation into the air to create more space for a variety of needs.
As decades passed eventually this maelstrom would calm down exposing a completely different world below. It was as if a new world was created during this calamity. The survivors soon began communicating plans of going back, exploring the new world, to begin to reclaim and resettle. It was during this time that organizations like soon became adventuring organizations.
One of these groups eventually would become known as the Red Dragon Bone Guild. So-called because on a mission to dredge up some land for their own purposes they found reddish colored dragon bones embedded in parts of the earth they brought up. They became one of the biggest groups during this change and soon became the premier adventurer’s guild.

OOC Stuff
So my rp, in terms of setting it’s best described as post-post-apocalyptic in that everyone is now less focused on survival and more on rebuilding and carrying on as normal as possible. The cataclysmic event has subsided and now people are able to descend to the world and have been starting new settlements and there’s missions to explore the world. In terms of tech level it’s hard to describe as magitek is how stuff runs in the setting, even swords can have it implemented into them. There's a handful of races besides humans who have survived the cataclysm and work beside them in the sky islands.
Your characters are all part of the same guild and will be doing all sorts of assignment mainly related to surface world matters. My plan is to have an episodic type of vibe with your characters doing quests from the guild and some SoL downtime stuff with the intent to delve into the past and find out what was the cause of this great disaster and see if it can be prevented from ever happening again.
