The Geisel Republic

Geography:

|Geographical Location of Country:|

|Country Size:| 5,248,000 Sq Km
|Cities:|
- Kaiserhal: The capital of the Geisel Republic (or the Geiselschaf in native tounge), it is city that has seen rise to power in the last few decades. Merely 34 years ago, the capital was placed here from Lüdinghal, to a central position inside the country. The city has become the center of industry and economy ever since, and railways connect it to every other major city in the republic. Within it's foundries, the Geiselschaf produces a large portion of it's steel. The factories of the Kaiserhal can produce just about anything anyone can want, and the prestigious royal academies of the city are open to inventors and scientists looking for work. Any new inventors will surely find the right businessman in the city to start up their business.

- Alldorf: One of the oldest cities in the republic, the city has a massive port that handles nearly 80% off all trade going westwards. It's massive dock complexes bring in enormous trade, and attract new businesses and people each years. As such, it is one of the most popolous city in the republic. Most of these folks work in the local steelworks and charcoal burners where they create the raw materials required for the nation. Some of these minerals are exported to Kaiserhal, but the foundries and Alldorf are only slightly behind that of the capitol, and the city is the heart of shipbuilding.

The port of Alldorf is the main HQ of the Kriegsflotte, the navy department of the Geiselian military. There are massive drydock for both submarines and other assorted warships in the city, and they also handle the production of more ships.

- Kortrijk: The ancestral city of the vile kings who opposed the reunification merely 150 years ago, the city has earned it's nickname of "The Impenetrable Fortress" for a good reason. During the unificatory wars, and even before, layers and layers of thick walls and bunker systems have been built to protect the city and it's major port facilities. Thanks to it's centralized location, after the unification wars, each Kaiser has only added to the already strong fortifications of the lower and upper city. The city is responsible for a lot of eastbound trade, and has strong trade influence in the area.

Home to the Ostflotte, a smaller but relatively never detachment of the navy, the city is a testament to military power. In addition, the fort of Rubinhügel is home to the 17th Geschwader, an elite flying wing of the Geiselschaf that is equipped with the newest airplane and zeppelin models. The many factories churn out almost exclusively military goods required for ships and aircraft.

- Coejwik: The city with the largest population inside the republic, Coejwik governs over the spacious grasslands and rolling hills that compose the norther part of the republic. Thought neutral during most of it's history, there was a good reason nobody tried to attack the city. Coejwik sits atop a hill, which is adorned by an expansive fortress system and the old royal palace. The city has but 2 walls for defence, but the strategic positioning of the fortress and it's imposing size were enough deterrence in the past. Coejwik is responsible for the food exports coming from the north.

In fear of the recent events that had led to the downfall of many esteemed empires in the north and west, especially the civil war in Belzarov, the Volktruppe's main army group now resides in teh city and outlying settlmenets. Since resupplying them is easy inside the vast farmlands of the north, large military presences can be afforded. Thought they are stationed in the city, batallions occupy the fortresses near the borders, eyeing the norther neighbours with suspicion.

- Salzstadt: The western bastion, and the second largest port, Salzstadt handles all the westward export, and the transit of the minerals from the Geisel Range, the mountains to it's west. It also governs over mayor fish and crop exports of the area. The plains around the city and further away contain rich deposits of oil, which many entrepeuners have been racing to exploit. As such, a prominent chemical industry has been developing over time in the city that is only getting bigger and bigger with each years.

Tungsten, a primary resource in the nearby hills has allowed the businessman with military fervor to produce some excellent artilleries. The foundries of Wellbeit & Co are located in Salzstadt, who are the primary producers of artillery guns for the Geiselschaf army.

- Lüdinghal: The largest city of the republic, Lüdinghal is the imperial capital of the country, where the Kaiser resides. It was the home of the kings who have decided upon unification of the realm, and stands as an important cultural capital to this day. It handles a large portion of the diplomatic functions and trade with the Sairish Empire. People of all cultures visit the city, and to some extent it is the beating heart of the republic. It has a large industry revolving around all kinds of industrial goods. Furthermore, it's royal academies have been a preferred target for students and scientist for centuries, something that is only getting more prominent as the city grows.

Since ancient times, the city has been well fortified, but especially before and during the unificatory wars, the city has received a new face: it stands as a true testament to the imperial might. The city has 13 different fortifications overlooking different districts, and 6 more outlying military complexes that watch over the land bridge. It houses the HQ of the dreaded Luftkraft, the airforce of the Geiselschaf, and houses the 4th Geschwader, the oldest still active airwing in the republic..

- Northlin: Northlin is a small joint venture expedition between the Geisel Republic and the Sairish Empire, administered offically under the name of the former. It is by far the largest colony on the uninhabited southern continent, and it mines a large variety of rare earth metals and oil. Thought not a city by conventional terms, and more of a loose collection of industrial complexes and housing units, Northlin is an expansive settlement with port facilities that many cities envy even on the mainland.

|Natural Resources:| The mainland area of the Geisel republic is blessed with natural resources. There are woods a plenty, with expansive grasslands supported by fertile riverbeds. On the south-eastern and western edges of the Gesiel half-island lie the Torbek Range and the Geisel Range respectively, areas that are being rapdily deforested and mined for their precious resources. These areas provide and abundant amount of metal ore and coal, along with carious other metals like chromium, manganese and tungsten. The Geisel range in particular is rich with easely accessible deposits of bauxite. Thought the continental reef along the coasts of Geisel are rich in oil, exploiting them has been a slow and costly business. However, the inland areas near Salzstadt are rich in crude, and provide most of the oil used by the republic. Exotic minerals like copper, silver and gold are found in large quantities within the borders of the republic, but their accessibility is so low that it has been historically cheaper to import them from the Sairish Empire. Some minerals like Nickel, Tin, Cobalt and more importantly Titanium are mined near Northlin, and imported to the republic via ferry or zeppelin ships.

People & Culture:

|Population:| According to recent census, the country has an estimated population of nearly 367 Million.

|Demographics:| 82% Geiselian, 5% Sairish, 13% Other

|Government:| Democratic Monarchy. The Kaiser and his Kaiserkind are the esteemed leader of the country, communicating with the people via the Chancellor and the Parliment. Both entities have veto rights, and so the two must work together if any progress is to be made.

|Ruler:| Kaiser Mandelbaum II

|Volksgeist:|
The people of the Geiselschaf are hard working folk who always strive for more. With a grand military and cultural history behind them, they are proud calling themselves children of the Kaiser. They are thought in school the glorious military history of the old kingdoms, and from an early age are brainwashed into devotion to the Kaiser. To support this, every citizen lives a comfortable life thanks to the sophisticated welfare state that has been carefully crafted in the peacetime.

Thought not exactly fanatical, the military is deeply devoted to both the Kaiser and the legacy of the Geiselschaf. Their morale might be broken from time to time, but their will to fight never falters when it comes to the defense of their legacy.

|Religion:|
The only accepted faith in the country is Orthodox, a mishmash of religions created a millenia ago and reiterated within each era and different kingdom. Thought most commonfolk are followers of the faith, few can claim themselves devout followers, and the state largely ignores the church and relies on other methods to control the populace.

|History:|

Where to begin? The history of the Geisel Republic is avery old one, riddled with internal conflicts and crusades. But perhaps, it is the best we start from the beginning.

Though nowadays the Empire is peace loving, and the general populace is happy with their prosperous life, the higher circles of society are ruled by this inner war between nobles and businessman, which has penetrated even the ranks of the kaiserkind. The nobles want war, to rekindle imperial ambitions and regain their lost titles by winning battles and gaining favors from the Kaiser, whilse the businessman want to maintain peace, and gain wealth by selling their products to fuel the insurgent nations and their war efforts, without having to suffer from embargos and national interests.

|Armed Forces:|

The Geisel Republic has it's roots in the muddy fields of previous century infantry warfare. An army with better trained or more equipped infantry - you cannot find. Under the leadership of esteemed nobles trained in the royal academies of Lüdinghal, the morale of the Geisel army never wavers, and they chant the glorious hymn of the Kaiser as they march to battle.

But industrialisation has brough some other wonders along with factories and steelworks. Weapons of previously unimaginable flexibility and power are avaible for production, and the Kaiser knows this very well. Not only did we give away our guns to rebels fighting far away from us, seeing how they perform, but we have learnt and developed a few tricks of our own. The airwings of our country are decade ahead of everyone, and our flyboys sear the skies in machines which most can only envy.

|People of Interest:|

POV characters. A short description as well. Feel free to update this as you want to.

Stats:

|Industrialisation:| I’d like a percentage. 0-20% is tsarist Russia. 80-100% is a modern country like the UK.

NOTE: I have almost certainly missed some things. It’ll get sorted out, I promise.
