I don't really have a military... Yet.

There'll be a little solo arc for a post or two which will... Change that.

Should be an interesting development! Seft's unexpected buildup will be indeed shocking.

I realize I haven't posted my NS yet, night shift isn't exactly conducive to doing much of anything after I'm off, but my faction is essentially just Heavy Manufacturing focused. You guys need ships, walkers, or any other military/agricultural/colonization/manufacturing equipment? House Gallus will be the way to go.

They have a military best described as a militia that waits for the real military to show up when something goes South.

@Isotope if you're going to be in need of supplemental manufacturing capability for that mobilization... I can help with that.

@Drunken Conquistador@Sigma@Flagg@Pepperm1nts@Ozerath@Legion02@Polybius@FrostedCaramel@gorgenmast@Isotope

Possible fluff for those interested in such things. :P

So in summary just was thinking of the exact weapon technology we have, so I thought up an idea to throw out there. This by no means is the only thing the Empire has access to, I'm sure each sector has their own thing. Though logically the more effect a piece of tech is the more widespread it will by the very nature of war and weapon development. I had some thoughts on shielding technology as well, perhaps using void shields that phase shift projectiles into the void until the system is overwhelmed.

If anyone has another idea I'd be interested in hearing it as I work on my post.

I think we should all start make little tech and lore blurbs while we wait for IC.

Have we nailed down that we want to have two classes of void sensitives by the way? Proper Jedi like Vacare and less capable Navigators and Psychics? I'll get around to editing FTL and maybe making a blurb on that if nobody else feels like it. That said, I'd rather @Flagg or somebody more invested in the Vacare in general make that fluff.

@GreivousKhan Nice write up btw. I'll probably write up some other tech later today once I'm done with the big IRL stuff I need to get around to.

I wrote some fluff on page 3. I kept it specific for Auraxian Vacare as to not impose my will upon others. But basics stuff is:
There are 2 'ways'. One focuses on manipulating the reality and surroundings. While the other way focuses on mental control and insight into minds. They also get kick-ass tattoos they don't remember getting and use implants and stuff. I kept the actual powers vague so far. But if anyone wants a Vacare discussion, I'd be happy to join.

Ya, I do prefer introducing stuff as we post and build the world up. I think we're at the stage we can do that now we have important stuff out of the way like FTL.

One thing I do wonder though is when it comes to ship to ship- which might happen at some point- how exactly that will go down. Realistically at this stage, we could probably take pot shots at each other from across a system-- but that's boring. But if imperial doctrine follows something closer to broadside combat, like the knife-fighting as seen in star wars that would be a lot more interesting. (at least for me at this stage.)

That way the number of side guns a ship has could directly correspond with their ship classifications besides their role. Just an idea.

@Isotope but yo just so you know one of my first posts will be involving the Seft. Should not disrupt anything you have planned but will focus on trying to achieve an arrangement to make use of their shipyards. We can hash out details when things move more toward IC.

Definitely on the side of 'knife fights' like star wars or 'dog fights' like stargate/trek. That's not to say more realistic combat can't be interesting, the expanse books show it can be, but let's be honest we've gone full space opera here. This is a succession war with noble houses and space wizards.

As for early IC interaction @GreivousKhan I'll have a few balls in the air but I'm down for some collab/interaction.

Knife-fights for the win!

Regarding us coming up with tech, I honestly can't think up anything, I'll simply piggy back off of others :P

Adapt and all that.

Finally had a chance to complete an NS. House Gallus is posted in the CS section.

@Isotope next time you go to edit the map, you can change the "TBA" to "House Gallus" or "Gallus".

Anyone that's interested in using another titan of industry like the Seft Trust, let me know. After all, two systems building ships and weaponry tends to speed up the process considerably.

Done a bit of reworking for my military. Drunk's Brain in a Jar comment gave me a good idea. There will be a branch within the House Guard called the immortals, the elite of the elite who are chosen to discard their old bodies in favor of machine/synthetic bodies.

I only now just realized how close Order of the exalted Suns, the anti-Vacare guys, are to my place which I'm making Vacare central.

@Legion02 Be afraid!

I'm going to make an effort on explaining the Knights of Null a bit more, including the process of becoming one a bit. It should be noted a single knight can't prevent a Vacare from manipulating the void. Which is why they work in groups when dealing or apprehending Vacare.

Think of them as literal wounds in the force if ya'll ever heard of Knights of the Old Republic. :P

@GreivousKhan Played it, loved, should probably play again. It was the first RPG I've played (aside from RS). Though little 13y old me probably did not appreciate the story as much as he should. I remember the scar-in-the-force dude though I don't remember him nullifying the force around him. It's possible he did tho! I may have glossed over it as I was feeling like a dual lightsaber bad-ass.

EDIT: Just a question for you all. Is my description of the Vacare their stuff sufficient? Did anyone have anything else in mind? Do you want to add to it?
