Hallo lads, its me your favorite lad. I was thinking of making a Warhammer Fantasy based nation roleplay.
I got inspired for it when I saw this map once upon a time.
In said roleplay, each player would take control of a civilization that they would play as. Combat would be resolved with either dice, or in a roleplay manner depending on which you as players would prefer.
If dice, the system I have in mind is incomplete but approximately is as follows. There are different unit types; melee infantry, ranged infantry, artillery, cavalry, air forces. They would roll in different ways to add to a total for your side's combat roll. As an example, for each division of infantry that is in a certain province in combat, you add +3 to the combat roll that you have. Meanwhile, for ranged infantry you add a direct +2 to the final result, without rolling. Artillery would remove 1 from the enemy's army roll for every 10 units that they [the enemy] have, while cavalry would remove 1 for every 10 of the enemy's final roll number. Different races would naturally have different modifies and special rules for combat, like Dwarves have a "shieldwall" that means for every 5 melee units that they have they get a +1 to defensive rolls. There would also be a similar system for naval combat. Now, to raise said armies one would have to pay gold coffers. For most races save for Dwarfs and a few others with rather small but powerful in lore Empires, they would generate one Gold coffer per turn from each region that they own. This in turn would be used to buy things like troops, or fortifications etc. to make better modifiers, or if we all get together to make an interesting system we could even add things like using money to invest in industry and such.
Alternatively, all conflicts and development could be resolved through RP. Naturally, this would involve thing like battlemaps on which players draw battleplans and troop movement although my one issue is that faction bias could easily come in here for long arguments of "no my one unit of Empire Halberdiers is better than your one unit of Estalian Halberdiers." However I am open to this variant too.
Regardless, for either version I am in search of a Co-GM, because for either option there is a lot of conflict resolution and help of development that I would need. That said, player input would be desired and to some degree even needed.
This Nation Roleplay would vaguely follow the end time tales but if players do it right they can always change the path of the story. Archaon can be beaten back, the skaven can be stopped, etc. So, interest?
