But hmm, it does make me wonder. We've only hearsay of hearsay to indicate that Asherahn was evil. And given that Omestris was...apparently more than a bit nasty herself....Iunno. Pretty sure most of the Remnants are less than stellar, but it's a harsh world and they fit it.

I didn't realize that the Omestrians still prayed to both gods. That's interesting. Kinda odd, if he's supposedly wiped from history -- is he remembered or not? Possibly foolish. Possibly sensible. But interesting. That or the people of the Hand means a specific group of Omestrians, not all of them.

And the Lanostran goddess fought for a while, but then she surrendered too. T'sarae surrendered. Omestris...it's unclear what happened, right?

Modern day Omestrians don't pray to both gods. As you said, Asherahn has been wiped from history. "The People of the Hand" etymology refers to Omestrians in general. It doesn't really mean anything, it's just a more sophisticated way of referring to themselves. Since they are enslaved and the name of their God (Goddess, to those in the know) has been blasphemed and dragged through the historical mud, it's a way of elevating their culture and remembering that Omestris was a Remnant of the Ice Titan, just like the other Gods.

And yes, it isn't totally clear what happened, but Rose does ponder that Omestris apparently gave up without a fight. So maybe Essa mentioned something to her about this at some point. What is known is that Iddin-Mar was destroyed by the hands of Omestrians themselves before the Varyan invasion could break through the protective Aegis and reach it. No one knows why though.

@Lovejoy Nah it's just Zt being all "you're missing my point, kid". She won't actually devote herself to any gods because the gods don't deserve it. <3 You got nothing wrong.

So, to everyone who's waiting for an update. Sorry! I've been really low-energy and just all-around unfocused lately. I've had a bunch of free time but I'm just not there mentally when it comes to doing anything creative. All I've been doing is like, sitting on my ass and playing videogames and eating shitty food all day, and yeah, it all just makes me feel terrible and guilty. :(

I will try my hardest to get the Lanostre and Varya stuff done, but it might take a couple more days of me getting through this funk. How is everyone else doing? Been a while since we've had a proper pow-wow.

I’m on edge and Oren isn’t even at the battle. Though part of me is now wondering, since they were mentioned twice in the post... what happens if an Inquisitor’s catalyst shatters? Is it even possible?
