Sionis Kaminari
"I ask you this, is it better to be feared, or respected? I say, is it too much to ask for both?"Name: Sionis Kaminari
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance: Sionis is quite high for someone his age, being around 7-8 cm above the average height of most 18 year olds. Due to lack of care for his hair, it seems as if it was messy all the time. His complexion is fair, a result of lack of sunlight caused by him spending most of his time inside. Sionis' preferred clothes are those with hoods and double-length shirts, mostly in black. He tries his best to not wear too many eye-catching colors because of him not wanting to be the center of attention in public eyes. As a result of his mutation, it caused his hair to turn white everytime he use even a tiny bit of his powers.
Personality: Sionis is confident and a genius from birth. He daydreams a lot and is taken aback by various ideas that come to mind during his spacing out. He has his own way of solving problems, and can efficiently come up with new ones should an unfamiliar puzzle present itself to him. That aside, he has a decent sense of humor, although his lack of social skills negates this and leaves him writing bad one-liners in his notebook.
Background: "Sionis Kaminari, child prodigy, future CEO of Kaminari Enterprises." Those were the headlines of various magazines and newspapers when this eccentric son of a giant company went public. Born as a normal human and the only son of his family, he grew up with very little interaction with his parents, after his mother passed away when he was very young. As for his father, well, he's a busy man. There is nothing much to say other than his long days of work. Therefore, Sionis grew up under the guidance of his father through indirect means. He grew up with maids and private tutors, rarely even leaving the tower he identified as his home. He doesn't know how to interact with the people around him, nor the importance of friendship and social connections. At that time, his only source of entertainment was the TV.
When he hit his teenager years, the boy was assigned by his father to work for him and his company. Kaminari's job involved research and expeditions to various locations and for various means. He was given his own personal bodyguards and transportation facilities. However, his research soon took a toll on him. At the age of 18, Kaminari began experiencing constant anxiety attacks whenever the news shed light on events involving the mutants wrecking havoc. His body temperature would suddenly rise with no clear explanation as to why, and his skin would suddenly turn pale. His vision starts fading away and his mind goes haywire to abstract thoughts. As time passed, the condition of his body only became worse. It seemed as if the mere mention of the word mutants would cause him to space out, and that he had a thing or two with the mutants.
That all changed after a sudden unfortunate turn of events, which took place during his work. A big explosion enveloped the lab he was studying in, incinerating everything around it - including Kaminari himself. Some of the maids heard the blast from the floor above and immediately called the fire department and hospitals for help. Luckily, they were able to put out the fire before it could spread, but Kaminari's body was nowhere to be found.
Unbenknownst to everyone else, Kaminari had survived the near-death experience, and his body was taken by several men in black after the explosion. It was almost a miracle to him, as if it was staged from the get-go. What came after that wasn't exactly a pleasant surprise though, as the group of men decided to make him their lab rat. They tampered with his internal organs and began implanting strange devices into his body. Their first order of business was to make sure Kaminari was still alive, and to do that, they had to replace several of his ruptured organs with what they had in stock. Unfortunately for him, the replacement organs were actually host to the mutation virus, which then began to modify his DNA and change the structure of his body, unbenknownst to its new host.
Time skipping to several months later, Kaminari woke up in his bed just like any other morning. The look of relief and gratitude on his face soon changed when he rubbed his back and felt a strange bump inside his body. Later that day, he came to figure out it was some kind of metalic implant, and even just the mere thought of it sent chills down his spine. It wasn't that something was wrong - it was that nothing was right.
Confused, Kaminari began searching for details on what happened after the explosion that put him in stasis for several months straight, as well as the identity of the person who him from the blast. His first decision was to turn on the TV and check the news to see if there was anything major enough happening in the last few days. The first word that caught his attention was 'mutants'.
Surprisingly, Kaminari had got over his anxiety after being put in stasis. Intrigued, he decided to continue listen to what the show had to say. Its host began explaining about several events involving mutants attacking public areas in New York, advising the audience to stay cautious and be ready for the unexpected. He then begans giving them a list of characteristics that the government had identified which is shared by a majority of mutants. One of it was the inability to consume Monosodium Glutamate, a kind of chemical used as an enhancer for canned vegetables, processed meat, and fast food.
At that same moment, Kaminari began digging into his breakfast, ready for the sour flavor to envelop his mouth. His expectations were thrown out of the window when he noticed the noodles tasted bitter, very bitter. It was enough to send him bolting towards the bathroom as he threw up at how bad that taste was. Kaminari questioned what caused his cooking to suddenly be so bad. Maybe he was rusty after his long nap in stasis? Or maybe it had expired when he was still unconscious?
He returned to the noodles and looked at the packet. The expiry date was still a few months away, meaning it couldn't have been the cause. Regardless, Kaminari still felt unsure, so he continued checking the packet if there was anything else he didn't know about. That was when he noticed the words Monosodium Glutamate engraved into the names of the ingredients on the packet. His thought was taken aback to what the show host had said earlier.
He looked at his hands in disbelief, realizing what he had become.
Ability: Prime Exosuit Transformation - Sionis' mutant cells can envelop him with special scales that take on the form of an exosuit. The scales are flexible and can take in any shape and form, granting Sionis an array of dynamic tools and equipment as well as releasing energy blasts.
