Standing at a lanky 178 centimetres and weighing a measly 57 kilograms, Seikatsu is one to stand out, much to his dismay. His abnormally green, frazzled hair doesn't help him much, but he likes the color, and can't be assed to change it. Droopy eyes of pink give way to an assumption of tiredness, save for when he offers a curt smile and that drowsiness turns to contentedness. Features of note are his oddly large hands. While he doesn't dislike them, he certainly wishes they wouldn't attract such attention. Hard to wallow through life as a leaf when people constantly want to compare hand sizes with you.

They say an object at rest stays at rest. Such is true for Seikatsu. He prefers not to move if he doesn't have to, claiming life will take him wherever it deems necessary he go. Call him an apathetic philosopher and you'll have pretty much summarized his entire personality. Seikatsu is, by all definitions of the word, boring. Bland is another good word of choice. He doesn't do much, and this has led him to have very few friends, and those he does have are self-proclaimed. While he doesn't dislike company, he does prefer to be alone, a preference which led him to move out on his own under special circumstances.

Not a heartless being, Seikatsu isn't against helping people, and will often lend a hand to those in need if it isn't too much trouble. Much like his father, he's also fascinated with the vast variety of quirks present in the world, though he finds it would be bothersome to confront people about their abilities. He's a curious bugger with the lack of enthusiasm to satiate said curiosity. He also happens to be a genius, but being the humble guy he is, he doesn't present that fact as anything particularly special about himself.

Seikatsu grew up an only child, and was thus afforded most of anything he wanted, his father being a researcher that studied quirks, his mother a gardener. As a result of the lack of interaction training he'd have most likely gotten had he had siblings, he became a bit unsociable. Opting to stay inside and read books and play whatever video games were good enough to pique his interest, Seikatsu grew up to be quite the loner. His parents feared for what this would mean for his future, and tried to push him into socializing with others. His apathetic nature made making any real progress difficult, and the parents gave up their resolve. As long as he was happy, they concluded.

In school, Seikatsu was little less than a genius. While he found studies boring, his near perfect memory allowed him to nail material upon learning it a single time, and simply recall it whenever test time came around. Rather than bully him, students often came up to him asking for help with their classwork. These "why not" study sessions were the little socialization Seikatsu took part in, and are what led him to make the few self-proclaimed friends he has. Shortly after his 15th birthday, Seikatsu moved out, claiming to want to try living on his own for a while. He currently works as a library's assistant to make his living wages, though he of course still receives some money from his parents, albeit reluctantly.

You're probably wondering why such an apathetic person would want to become a hero. It's quite simple, really. When a flyer advertising enrollment for Ishin Academy smacked him dab in the face as he was walking home one day, he assumed life was telling him this was the path for him to take. Call him impulsive, but that's his reason. His parents also encouraged him a bit, seeing this as an opportunity for him to make some actual friends. Most hero schools were keen on promoting teamwork, which would force the apathetic boy out of his shell.

Over the course of the roleplay, I hope to take Seikatsu out of his comfort zone, putting him into situations that force him to demonstrate anything other than unfiltered apathy. I want to push him in the direction to where he can see someone as a true friend, and not just someone he tolerates because "why not".

Because of his impulsiveness, I'm also aiming to give him personal direction in life — setting goals for himself that aren't just actions taken because he believes it's where life is pointing him, but because they're things he genuinely wants to do.

In addition, I want to open his eyes about what it means to be a hero; that one can't simply be one because something or someone is telling them to. That there has to be a desire, a drive, to be one. A drive that, without, the path he's taken is a road to failure.

Emitter

Seikatsu's quirk, Living Web, allows him to generate webbing from any orifice on his body. The speed with which the webbing is generated is dependent on his focus. The thread is also surprisingly durable, proving itself capable of withstanding the average karate chop. Blunted sharp objects may also have a hard time severing it. Seikatsu wears special shoes that are resistant to the stickiness of the webs, so as to not hinder himself if he were to ever cover the ground with it as a defensive strategy.

As mentioned before, Seikatsu possesses genius level intellect, and is also quite the strategist. However, he's also a bit frail, having not bothered to train himself much physically. As a result, he relies more on being nimble, thanks to his slender, albeit tall, figure. He's capable of solving a Rubik's Cube in around 5 seconds. As a side note, and oddly enough, Seikatsu has a bit of a dislike for spiders, despite his quirk being related to them.

Ookouchi Yachiyo

Ashiya, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan

Yachiyo is a lanky girl, sporting a runner's physique with long limbs and lean definition. An immaculate, light complexion attests to her sheltered upbringing, and accentuates her bright lavender-colored eyes. Though her mane is usually tied up at the back of her head, it's actually quite long, reaching down to just above her tailbone, and possesses a deep purpure shine. Yachiyo's face is often dulled by her own insecurities, resulting in many timid gazes and bashful half-smiles. The gentle blush of her permanently flushed cheeks lends her a perpetually love-struck, heated, or even inebriated appearance, much to her own embarrassment. Yachiyo's wardrobe is dominated by upscale designer brands, pastels, and soft earthy tones, and largely conveys traditional femininity befitting of the virtues she was raised with.

Yachiyo is a prim and proper young woman, valuing etiquette and proper manners. Being prone to fluster whenever an authoritative personality (or someone acting as such) addresses, scolds, or otherwise interacts with her, she's similarly dumbfounded when others express affection or compliment her - or the other way around. This trait is amplified by the fact that she crushes quite easily and is generally an affectionate, amiable person, who'd much rather cheer others on and praise them, than mention anything negative. This behavior causes her significant embarrassment when witnessed and alluded to by her peers.

Despite her somewhat submissive and goofy behavior towards teachers and other people in positions of power, she values her friends above all else, and is incredibly encouraging and protective of them. Whenever possible, Yachiyo will do her best to support those dear to her, and will do anything she can to keep others safe. Yachiyo prefers to see others succeed than intervene with a blaze of glory, but feels strongly compelled to step in when necessary regardless. Overall, she has a caring and attentive personality, however, her nurturing side can take a seat when people dismiss rules or consciously cause disorder; Yachiyo does not approve of such displays, and may or may not get a little ticked off when it happens. It follows that Yachiyo is a neatfreak, and keeps her quarters, clothes and... well, anything obsessively tidy and clean. Her dislike for sloppiness goes far enough to where she may step in and clean up even other's belongings.

With traditionalist views instilled in her through her upbringing, and the pressure of her parents' expectations as to how she'd live her life, the decision to become a hero not only affected her relationship with her parents, but brought about a significant hit to Yachiyo's self-perception. Her general insecurity and the feelings of guilt over her wealth has only deepened with the addition of heroics - after all, would anyone accept the help of a sheltered girl such as herself?

Born into the Ookouchi dynasty, Yachiyo was raised under strict rules and with the expectation to continue her family's business alongside a future husband. Yachiyo was raised to possess an acute sense of duty, grace, and diligence, and as such took on the expectations placed in her without hesitation. However, she also developed an almost crippling sense of humility and guilt, due to her feeling of being undeserving of the luxuries her parents' security empire has afforded her, which has nudged her to isolate herself on occasion. It wasn't until the Lock Corp. incident that her heroic aspiration began to overwhelm her sense of duty to continue her family's business.

Shortly after her 11th birthday, the Lock Corp. HQ, where Yachiyo's parents run the day-to-day operations, was raided by a villainous group. With the intent to capitalize on the easy access to the systems - which many wealthy and influential customers use - Yachiyo's parents were taken hostage and held at gunpoint. The youngest of the Ookouchi family, blissfully unaware until later that day, couldn't bear the thought of losing her parents - or any of her loved ones - without any means to protect them. She had long admired the pro heroes as a source of inspiration for people across the country - Now, however, she knew there was but one path for her to take.

I envisioned Yachiyo to be kind of like, say, Brigitte from Overwatch. That sort of kind (but not knightly valor-ish) character with a strong sense of justice, while retaining casual humanity instead of becoming a caricature of Superman and Co. Generally, I would like to develop various aspects of Yachiyo, some of which are "acceptably" heroic, and some of which are more introverted and "selfish", as I do believe most people grow in various ways, too, and not always in a "Hey, what a great person"-kinda way. As such, Yachiyo will likey have a few core themes to her personal growth:

- The sense of her place in the world. Yachiyo has many strong feelings and wishes, but follows few of them, often feeling like she's inadequate, unwanted, or straight up hopeless. Whereas many rich characters tend to go from snobby to cooperative, I would like to see her shed the guilt and doubt that came with her upbringing, and instead understand her fortunate situation and utilize it to be the best possible version of herself.

- Realizing (and actually exercising) that heroes aren't defined by how well they can punch villains into prison cells. With resources and a Quirk that lends itself to many non-combative situations, I would love for her to develop more agency. This is sorta similar to the first point, but rather specifically to her behavior as a hero, rather than a civilian.

- Making friends. Yeah, it's pretty cliche, but nothing fills my little weebheart with more joy than seeing precious characters come together and have fun. Be it shopping, studying, chatting - I love that ish.

- Fixing her domestic life would be a minor aspect, as I don't think it'd be all that interesting to other characters. However, as a tiny background thread, I think it'd be appropriate. Not only is there some direct strain between Yachiyo and her parents, but she also carries many preconceived notions of what she, as a girl, should be like, act like, aspire to be etc. To find a healthy balance between her parent's virtues and her own needs and beliefs would be a nice way to round out an actual personality.

Emitter

The Quirk "Megabubble" is a unique quirk, born out of Yachiyo's mother's powerful "Object Reconfiguration" Quirk, and her father's "Bubbleman" Quirk. Megabubble allows Yachiyo to generate, manipulate, and control bubbles and foam freely. While the ability may seem fairly useless at first glance, the ability to change their density or use their floatiness can be applied in various creative manners. Yachiyo can not only affect bubbles from outside sources, but create them by forming a ring with her thumb and index-finger, and blowing through it. Megabubble also allows Yachyio to dissolve her body into bubbles/foam to various degrees (although never fully) and rebuild itself through the respective bubbles/foam. The Quirk also enhances Yachiyo's cleanliness, making her smell nice even if she were to neglect her bodily hygiene. Megabubble can be bested in combat by washing away the bubbles with sufficient amounts of water. Ice also freezes bubbles, and takes away Yachiyo's control if it fully freezes all liquids involved. It should be noted that while bubbles involve many different properties and elements (such as water, various gases, chemicals, heat etc.) Yachiyo can only affect these elements when it concerns bubbles, foam, or sud - she has no control over these elements and substances individually.

Culinary Skills: Yachiyo is a skilled cook, being able to prepare a variety of complex dishes. She greatly enjoys catering to others, and finds the creativity and precision of professional chefs to be incredibly impressive.

Empathy: Equipped with great patience and understanding, Yachiyo can see most sides of an argument, and deal with all types of people. As a result of this, Yachiyo makes for a great tutor and simple conversationalist.

Exemplary Student: Stemming from both duty and reverence for teachers, Yachiyo is a committed student, acing most tests fairly effortlessy; she still studies excessively, however.

Bubbly Personality: Befitting of her Quirk, Yachiyo has an overwhelmingly bubbly side to her personality under rare circumstances. If she's extremely comfortable with those around her, care deeply, and/or feels the rare sensation of being capable of helping others thoroughly, Yachiyo will become bubbly and lively in the most contagious of ways. There was also that once instance where she accidentally drank some of her father's sake, but we don't talk about that...

Sasaki Sumire
佐々木 すみれ

Fifteen years old.

Yokohama, Kanegawa Prefecture

A short, light-brown haired, violet-eyed boy, with a smile painted from ear to ear. In detail, he stands roughly at five feet and three inches(160cm) with dirty blonde medium length hair that falls just past his eyebrows. Maybe a little longer, he needs a haircut. His eyes were a piercing blue-purple, likely a byproduct of his perk but nonetheless add to the cheery exterior of the boy. He is dressed in what seems to be restrictive gear with belts and tightening fixtures around his arms, the gear is faded white with black accessories but that’ll change once school starts. His voice, not quite feminine but definitely of a higher more sing-song pitch. He seemed like he’d probably be an idol if not for his perk.

Dainty like a flower. Sumire is friendly, well-behaved, and sensitive, his upbringing shines bright through his appearance. He is rarely seen frowning or showing negativity in his expression, instead mustering his feelings and forcing a smile. Deeper into the boys psyche though is a different story however, he is a boy who has known mostly restraint his entire like and deeply wishes to let out. He does not feel protected or sheltered, but instead that he is two dangerous and must always hold himself back in many regards. He doesn’t wish to anger people so he withholds his criticisms, he doesn’t wish to seem unruly so he obeys without question. His parents were both very good people, but the boy does need to stop bottling up his feelings and let them out before he explodes.

Born to a florist and a doctor, Sumire had a rather comfortable unpbringing. At an early age he was able to make friends, was given freedom to go out and run amock and enjoyed his time as a rugrat. He often was teased for his name, close friends would however grow fond of it and the teasing would be short-lived. Though as his group’s quirks began to manifest things began to change. His mother Nanami had a quirk that was something akin to pheromones, releasing a strong-sweet smelling substance that attracted the opposite sex. It was believed at first that Sumire’s quirk would be similar as the purple substance began to appear along the boy’s skin. His father Ichigo, the doctor, knew to look further into it, and thankfully so. The viscous substance would then harden into small violet crystals which are toxic in nature, these crystals are capable of breaking into powder and harming anybody nearby who would unfortunately breathe this substance in.

It would take time and practice to prevent the boy from affecting others, Ichigo eventually pulled some strings to have a suit made for him to restrict the substance rather than harness it. It hurt the young Sumire’s ego, that he could not show off his quirk like many of his friends. More than that, he had always wanted to help people like his father did. But with a quirk like his, it’d be quite dangerous for patients. So he devised a new plan, he’d become a her, it was a way he could help people and they would probably help him temper his power to becoming something more usable. He grew apart from his friends for some time after his quirk manifested, however, he knew a few of them aspired to be heroes as well.

He trained, they trained, Sumire even discovered he had a knack for climbing. Academics were something he had always strived to be good at, but physical training was something new and at first- a pain in the ass. But he quickly adjusted, even getting some assistance from Ichigo every once in a while, tending to minor wounds and offering him some healthy advice for working out. He dealt with a lot during these last few years, some bullies with more flashy powers often berated Sumire on his powers were more suited for a villain. He’d dealt with teasing and assholes in the past before because of his name, he held no quarrel with them. With his persistence and hard work, he’d eventually land a spot on Ishin Academy.

Sumire is a ticking time bomb, not that he isn’t a good-natured boy but more so because all of his withheld feelings are going to eventually come rushing out. He is a sponge of emotion that enjoys hearing out others’ problems without even taking the time for his own, and he will need to overcome that. He was conceptualized as a character who is nicer than he is emotionally capable of being, stemming from him looking up to his father’s selflessness. Which in turn makes him think there’s something fundamentally wrong with himself for not being able to just enjoy helping people without reward or praise.

He also has the insecurity of looking the way he does and being named what he is. He is not inherently a trap or anything of that sort, just a boy who takes more after his mother. Nonetheless, he has been harassed throughout his life for these feminine traits and needs to stop caring about others’ view of him. He also needs to find some grounding on what exactly his morals are, he had a great family, and a healthy group of friends, but he has always been more
Of a follower and never really came to the conclusion on what kind of hero he wants to be.

Sumire also wishes to further develop his quirk. Currently he is only capable of controlling small clouds of the crystal powder, manipulating their movement and aiming them towards an enemy target. With patience and practice he would like to, eventually be able to do more with the crystals while in their larger more "raw" form. Perhaps reinforcing his arms or fingertips with the substance, creating structures out of the crystal form, and controlling said crystals en masse?

Emitter

Violent Violet takes the form of a violet liquid that secretes from Sumire‘s body and hardens into a countless small crystals. The crystals alone are not dangerous, however the boy’s body is able detonate these crystals into a poisonous dust and manipulate the purple-blue substance. These fumes are what makes the boy dangerous, as the substance is very similar to the chemical compound hydrogen sulfide and attacks the body’s hemoglobin. Small amounts of the crystalline clouds being inhaled are not fatal, however breathing in Violent Violet at length can cause serious damage to the body or even death.

Entry level skill of this quirk involves small portions of these crystals being dispersed and conducted around at short-range. However with proper training it is believed he'll be able to fire off these crystals in their amethyst form, lay these crystals in various places to detonate after an extended period of time, and even create structures out of this substance. Sumire himself is immune to the toxins created from his body, but after extended use begins to bruise from the locations Violent Violet is used from and eventually large spots of broken blood vessels can be seen. His body is still conditioning itself to the ability, but like a muscle, it must be worked and strengthened for greater use.
