The lieutenant quickly picked up his radio, and tuned it into a different frequency. The sound of gun fire sounded in the halls. "Captain this is Snake Eyes. We're going to send you back up. One of those quirks from the big man." commented the lieutenant as the Captain's voice rang through the mic.

"God damn it! Hell these swat are really determined. Had my team spread out they're not getting through. Send any of the spare people. Make sure its not a god damn fireworks quirk you're sendin' up here. We got a hallways worth of room up here, and a lot of gunfire." the boss said as he stopped talking to apparently fire at the swat on the other end of the hallway. The lieutenant looked back up at Aya.

"Can't spare too many of the men here. If you're going to go up be careful. Rooms are pretty small up there. There's some vents not sure if you'll fit through them though. If you want I can spare my pistol." the lieutenant told her.

Aya shook her head at the offer, she was fairly confident that Skyfall would be able to dispatch the swat fairly easily, but she still wasn't sure the extent of the newbies strength and durability.

"I should be alright, I am sure Skyfall will be able to clean up the swat. I'm just there to make sure he doesn't go overboard... Or get himself killed..."

With a brief sigh she would head off to help the captain, she was internally laughing at all the heroes that would be wearing high heels, and would be struggle to shoot up the stairs as fast as she was. It didn't take her all that long to reach the captain and Skyfall, she quickly ducked into cover and called out at the two.

"You boys got a plan for raking these pests out!? We gotta be careful not to destroy the floor, or else our buddies on the lower levels are going to be in trouble!"

Aya would flinch as a bullet pinged off the wall next to her, this really wasn't her field of expertise, she sorely hoped that Skyfall was bulletproof.

"We need to clear these losers out! Push'em out of the building make sure the escape team has enough cover!" commented the Captain as he looked down the hallway and ducked his head out as a shot just missed his head. "Been pushin' these punks back since before the cops got their perimeter out. Didn't want to risk any heroes on the roof so we decided to keep it inside more risk to the hostages means more of a chance of us putting a cap in one of them if they mess things up." commented the captain as he adjusted his helmet. "You! You're a big guy right? Or did I just assume you 'gender'?" mocked the Lieutenant as he blind fired a few shots down his corridor. "Don't know where they are. So we'll have the scourge them all the way up. Make sure to avoid windows for snipers keep the the inner part of the building unless you're confident you can tank a shot from a police sniper." commented the Captain further to the two of the villains in front of him. "My men can take care of the ones on the side with their rifles if you can get through the first group watch out for tear gas.

Chapter 1. @vancexentan @LemonZest1337

"Be ready."

"And you," he said, directing his tone towards Flatline. "Stay behind cover and don't be reckless."

The next few moments were a blur of action. For a second the bullets had ceased from the swat end of things. He sprung off the ground, ceasing the reprieve with greed. With his speed amplified he slammed himself through the wall, absorbing the impact into his store of energy to catch the opposition off guard.

Once inside, he made short work of the vanguard. His attacks were amped to boulder-breaking standards, his speed was a fanciful fifteen-miles-per-hour in the closed space. He was a whipping shadow of black, knocking officers on their asses and throwing them across the room. He hoped he didn't take any bullets, seeing as the Captain and his men were suppose to have his back.

He just didn't want Flatline injured. She couldn't provide support for Black Tree if she was dead herself.

Aya wanted to roll her eyes, like Skyfall needed to tell her to be careful. She was the one who told everyone else to be careful, it both made her job easier and meant her friends weren't dead, both big pluses. She watched Skyfall burst from the cover, his speed was indeed impressive. She knew he'd be able to take on the swat in hand to hand, but they still needed to cover him. She probably should have taken that pistol, she was a lousy shot, but you don't need to hit the enemy to pressures them into cover. She sighed quietly to herself then addressed the captain.

"Are you injured anywhere? I'll assist you first then help Skyfall, I can't have you bleed out."

The cops on the other end went to open fire however one of the soldiers threw a short fused flashabang grenade in there before they could fire a few shots. The hall was short, and the cops weren't able to react in time to both things. As the flashbang went off the cops were dazed, and disoriented. Then as Skyfall charged at them they were smashed against the wall with vicious force while it didn't kill them it broke a few of their bones. About five officers in total were down that hall however it attracted the noise of the other police who came running to assist only to get shot down by the Captain's expert level marksmanship. The other soldiers pushed the cops pushing them out of the floor those who didn't were on the ground bleeding, dead, or injured in various manners. "No I'm fine just we need to push the cops out of the building, or at least give the extraction team enough time to get out of the building. We're still a part of the distraction team remember that. Problem is I don't know how long pedal boy, and his lackies will wait outside. They'll bound to do something soon." grumbled the captain as he ordered his men to get to the staircases, and move up to the next floors carefully. "I suggest we press our advantage. The heroes outside won't get in as long as we have hostages, and they don't plan on a big move. May as well flip the table."

Chapter 1. @vancexentan @LemonZest1337

SkyFall had taken a step towards cooperation. He found things to go smoother the more he paid attention to the situation. The mangled and hurt officers around him was testimony to that. He took a step towards the Captain and Flatline, ignoring the pinch in his ankles. He could feel a damp spot forming in his boot. Eventually he'd surpass them in notoriety but for the time-being, he was dependent on their experience and knowhow. Through his mechanical synthesizer, SkyFall's breath could be heard, a tad shallow and tired.

"Lead the way, Captain. I'm behind you the entire way."

Glancing towards Flatline, he gave her a nod. "Easy-peasy. Those guy weren't worth the trouble."

"Understood I'm moving. All forces breach, and clear!" the Captain ordered the crew around the area move towards the staircases up ahead. The crew stormed forward moving around the staircase one of them got shot in the helmet but the bullet didn't manage to kill them and a shotgun wielding soldier shot the cop almost directly in the chest as they kept moving. As they entered the new corridor they found themselves unable to get out of the staircases as the cops had barricades themselves behind some heavy desks on the other end of the hall. Growling in frustration as the captain smacked the wall in frustration. "Fuck it! They can't get out go bugger off the heroes outside, and get the money out. Or if you don't want to be useful then go get a desk from downstairs and check it down the hall! We'd throw a grenade but none of us fancy getting shot." cursed the Captain as the lieutenant messaged the group.

"Sir this is taking too long we need to get the money out, and get the hell out of here now." complained the lieutenant.

Tick tock.

Eased against the concrete wall closest to the main entrance to the building, Midnight dwelled with arms crossed in quiet contemplation as the sounds of muffled violence filtered through the floors and from the streets. Each passing moment added a new layer of tension to the gathered heroes outside and soon would force their hand into risking an engagement with the villains and merc personell gathered on the top floors currently engaged in a shootout, it sounded, with whatever defense force had managed to infiltrate the mercenary groups perimeter.
That would not be good for anyone much less Midnight. Much as the being didn't care about consequence of inaction on his part it would still be troublesome to have to deal with Shadewalkers insufferable attitude. Better to have it go on everyone but himself.

But first there needed to be a diversion for his own diversion.

It took only a few seconds as the black silhouetted villain whispered a few choice words and gathered up 5 hostages from the main group. Enough that it wouldn't be missed but little enough to fulfill his plan. Free of their restraints, terrified at what was about to happen, Midnight simply told them to run. Run as fast and quickly to the police line as possible. If they spoke a single word they would be killed where they stood.
A lie but they weren't the gambling sort.

At the sound of a low whistle the unarmed hostages ran for the building door and out into the waiting street, the police calling to hold their fire as panic stricken faces filled their view, ushering in the frightened individuals to the police line.
Unaware of the Villain in the midst of the little group. Unlike other Villains and Heroes who sported fancy attire and one-piece body suits designed to separate themselves from a crowd Midnights attire was the opposite. Hooded jacket, gloves, running shoes, black pants, as little 'skin' showing as physically possible to make him look like a civilian. His mask was even hidden below the thick hood as the group inched closer and closer to the police line as they covered the doors just in case..

The shot was precise enough. A single bullet from one of the mercenaries inside took Midnight square in the back, his body slumped forward as the Villain disguised as a civilian dramatically fell forward to his stomach and further concealed his face. Footsteps echoed all around as civilians raced from the area by police escort while one brave officer scrambled out and dragged Midnights limp 'body' behind the police line.
The resulting burst of volatile energy was cataclysmic. At 20% of his total stored energy the eruption tore apart cars and flung anyone within 20 feet of Midnights epicenter like paper caught in a gust of wind. Rising from his 'downed' position the Villain took in the scene and reacted accordingly, further flinging his quirks energy at any nearby vehicle. The volatile energy burned bright and precise as it struck gas tanks to trigger a chain of explosions in the course of mere moments.

With a spectacle put down, it was time for the heroes to make their move. They would come in fast, likely aiming for his chest. Blades flower pedals would do little to his exoskeleton. If needed it could be abandoned.

Aya would follow after the Captain and Skyfall, she was glad Skyfall was able to dispatch the cops without suffering much if any damage. She would commend him on his work later, he was going to be a good asset to the dark tree. She then listened to the Captain lay down the situation, it was pretty bad, she knew that much. She wanted to volunteer to throw the grenade, but she knew she wasn't better than any of the mercs. She let out a soft sigh. The suddenly the ground shook, a massive explosion or something had just shook the entire building. Now one of the few possible causes was standing right next to her, so one of the other two suspects must've been responsible. Artorius or Kyouran had to be the cause, her money was on Artorius, because if it were Kyouran there would be heavy stomping going on too.

"Captain, could I possibly borrow a grenade? I'm not the strongest fighter, so I could use the firepower against the heroes.

Aya was thinking to herself, using the grenade to set off a car, use it as bit of extra fire, like the lieutenant suggested. She knew she could get skyfall to throw the car, she'd just need to plant to grenade near the fuel tank.

As the power unleashed by Midnight flung the cops, and Twin Blade to the wind he noticed a sufficient lack of explosion. Instead the energy exploded harmlessly in the middle of the air as Sakura Pedals flung themselves in the way. The damage was kept to a sufficient degree to prevent casualties but it still damaged the enemy line. The police were in disarray and the sidekick was for the moment out of the fight. However as he fluttered in the sky he looked down at Midnight with distaste. "So there is more of you in there. I was wondering why they were stalling so long. Understand that I am no mere weakling. Neither are you it seems. However understand I have many pedals, more than enough to cover myself, and attack you." the in flight hero said as he wave his fingers in the general direction of Midnight from multiple directions the steel like pedals stormed out in an attempt to slice, and dice the energy based villain. And from the direction of the cops a giant block of cement from the ground was apparently thrown towards Midnight's direction as well.

===

The captain looked at Aya and sighed as he looked around at his men. "Jacker give me a grenade." commanded the officer as he reached into his bag and gave him a fragmentation grenade and he handed it to Aya. "There you go lady. You got a plan with that? Military grade equipment ain't something doctors should be holding. Not when we got a bulldozer here to do the job." the Captain further said as he reached down and reloaded his magazine. Raising his gun over his head he opened fire down the hall with blind fire before quickly retracting his hand. He took cover down the staircase as fire was returned towards his position.

"Ok."

With the trap sprung, and the hero still able to cover the blast despite no warning of what was to come, it seemed obvious his quirk would not be terribly effective at actually striking the target. It seemed unlikely the hero could truly cover themself off from a frontal assault and still strike with accuracy despite a lack of aim if they cocooned themselves in protective flowers but that would reveal itself in time.
Now was time for action, not wasted breathes.

From behind, the whistle of approaching mass caught his attention and reacted accordingly by flinging himself to the side and thus closer to the nearest building behind the crushed police line, the petals taking the cement block and lodging. They would be back quickly he assumed.

The previously black silhouette of Midnights body shifted, spewing purple energy from his revealed mask giving it an eerie otherworldly appearance meant to unnerve opponents. An interesting side effect of his quirk. Though a veteran hero would not be taken off guard by such a minor visual difference.
If they muffled a larger explosion could they do so against a much smaller one? Granted it would not be as effective in damage.
The first bolt of energy, 2%, was roughly the size of a childs pinky but it was faster by far as a light based attack. From his eye it could cover the distance in a heartbeat to strike the hero. It wasn't aimed at anything in particular, and if it did hit at all, it would likely just be a painful sting and some singed clothing/skin from the heat.
What made it effective to use was the miniscule cost. At any given time Midnight was restocking his energy, recovering mass quickly as he absorbed ambient energy from the air.
The larger blast would not recover so quickly, however.

Following up on the first projectile came nearly a dozen more of equal strength, aimed at the flower heroes face.
Midnight was already waiting for the response from either the hidden hero or the floating hero with the floral display.

"Well we need to get going move!" After absorbing the half burnt out vault door the crew in the upper floors rushed off quickly into the vault to crack open the wall safes, and the others putting handfuls of wads into bags. As Disel asked how she looked the soldiers stifled a cackle. Meanwhile at the vault the thermite drills was finally finishing its job at tearing its way through the hard metal only to have a door in its way. The disgruntled soldiers roared in anger as one of them considered just blowing the door open. "You look like a million dollars." grumbled the soldier in command. He turned on his radio, and asked the second team how they were doing. "We're doing ok down here still need to burst open the door." the soldier on the other line grumbled as he prepared to talk to his fellow soldiers each them arguing if it was worth using the drill, or they should just blow it up.

"Not sure if the metal worker here will be able to get down to that floor with the way they are now." said the soldier on their end.

"Alright boys, you grab the money, I'll meet you downstairs!" Dieselpunk started, with a groan, to run towards the rear of the bank, knocking away mahogany tables where people would normally be signing leases and loans. Bracing herself, Dieselpunk crashed through the tall, pristine windows, taking much of the wall with her, and hurtled down to the street floor. Crashing down amid drywall, bricks and other debris, Dieselpunk landed with a loud clang that left her slightly winded, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Fortunately, her current body was tough enough to withstand the impact, and the pain was not enough to cause her to unfuse. And there it was, in all its stinking, beautiful glory. A garbage truck, abandoned, either because an operative had offed the driver, or the driver had abandoned it when the general evacuation was announced. Whatever the reason, it was a sight for sore eyes, and why Dieselpunk knew it was worth it to stay with this organization. Dusting herself off and waddling over, Dieselpunk began fusing with the truck. With a roar that resembled a cross between a monster and a revving engine, Dieselpunk had incorporated the heavy wheels into her hindquarters, the lifting mechanism into her right arm, and the trash-crushing mechanism into her other arm. Trash was dumped all over the street as the containment unit was portioned out into armor plating.

Now I smell like a million dollars, Dieselpunk thought sarcastically to herself as she busted her way back into the first floor of the bank to help the guys get the last vault open. Driving over, and probably scraping her mechanical head against some of the finer ceiling decorations, Dieselpunk assessed whether she should just punch through the door, or incorporate it into herself for some more goddamn armor. If the last door didn't seem to be worth much, she would choose the former, since she already had plenty of truck parts, as well as a vault door and several safe doors giving her protection, at least enough to likely withstand the likes of 'flower boy' and 'samurai girl' if they decide to show up on this side of the bank.

Aya took the grenade and nodded "Thank you." She said storing the grenade in her medical bag the irony. She then smiled. "Oh I won't be throwing it, that would be a bad idea. I've not got the strength or aim to even hope to accomplish my plan. But Skyfall does." She said patting Skyfall on the shoulder. "You think you could throw a car?" She said as she started off down the stairs, signaling Skyfall to follow.

Skyfall Nodded and followed after Flatline. "What exactly is your plan anyway? Also, why do I need to throw a car?" Skyfall was pretty sure he knew what Flatline was thinking but couldn't be sure.

As the pair ran down the stairs Flatline filled Skyfall in on her plan. Sticking a grenade into a car engine then throwing the car like a makeshift incendiary grenade, using the fuel in the car to hopefully incapacitate the pesky number 7 hero. "Huh not a bad plan. It should be easy actually." Skyfall said, fairly sure he had enough power left in him to pull off this plan. So the two went on, running past all the mercs and hostages heading for the exit.

The pair of them bolted out the front of the bank and slid behind a car, hoping they'ed not been noticed by Sakura. "Ok kid you know the plan. Let's hope this works." With that Flatline and Skyfall got to work. Skyfall simply ripped the hood off the car, both making it so the explosion would have less resistance and so that Flatline could slot in the grenade. Aya took a deep breath and looked at Skyfall, her hands ready to pull the pin out of the grenade. "Alright Skyfall, are you ready?" Skyfall wouldn't respond with words, instead he just nodded and got into position, ready to fling the car at Sakura.

The police recovered but not before suddenly a hail of gun fire came from the doorway as a soldier proceeded to lay down arms fire on the police. The mercenary soldiers seemed to be keenly aware of what was going on around them. The use of citizens to cover the attack made for ease on their workload however they were careful not to shoot at where the civvies where at. No doubt the media would demonize the action but there was little they could do about that now. The majority of the quick shots got through to their target on Setokingusakura however they did more than make him flinch with pain forcing him to recall some of his petals in order to cover his body more however to deaden further blows.

This did not however stop the petal storm around Midnight as they followed him, and cut at his body with the likeness of tiny blades. They were clearly not in there to kill but they were doing some damage as they storm fluttered around him. The follow up was the large hero showing himself from behind a cop car. He was wearing thick grey hero gear that resembled a what appeared to be an elephant, and it was clear his quirk was strength related as his brawn was massive. His biceps bulging as he charged forward towards Midnight shouting at the top of his lungs a soldier shot at him but the bullets ricocheted off him harmlessly.

"We'll cover you big girl! You go, and retreat through the back we'll make sure no big heroes get through to you. Once the money is clear we'll break and head for our escape routes!" the soldier with diselpunk stated. They had followed her out the window using make shift hero gear to lighten their own falls by softening the blow. "The getaway car is down a block, or two in a street corner near a ramen shop go-" commented the soldier before suddenly he was stuck with some sort of web like substance as a small boy stood there in front of them. He had brown hair, and a few freckles but he as clearly very young. "I'm the super great hero King Spider! I'll stop you!" the boy said hesitantly as he raised his arms to fire more silk like webbing at Diselpunk.

Do you intend to stop the universe with your bare hands?

With his mass effecively pooled at his core, a hollow 'limb' filling in for arms and legs obscured by the clothing now being shredded, the metal exoskeleton was performing its job and absorbing the dozens of petals dancing in a flurry about his body but none taking any true mass from his body that could not be easily recovered. The elephant was the problem now, clearly capable of putting down raw power in a wide surface area.

That could not be allowed!

A quick burst from his back propelled Midnight through the petal storm, the annoying flower pageantry would likely follow his pursuit. If his visage could grin it would be as the burning energy spewing from the scratched faceplat burned bright as Midnight nearly collided with the charging elephant. In his right palm was a thick glob of pitch black tar like substance. As the two figures hurtled towards each other, Midnight struck hard. His exoskeleton was shattered in a shower of scrapped metal pieces, ruined beyond recognition as the limb hit the heros helmet at full force.

The tar spread across the head and upper body of the elephant with a vengeance. Like tar it was incredibly difficult to remove, even with his prodigeous strength it would likely still make it difficult to see if the thick layer of the sticky goo was removed. A splash of the same substance splattered the ground around the pair.
A quick burst of released energy, roughly 5%, erupted from Midnights shoulder vents that attempted to send his body hard to the ground and out of quick arms reach. While it wasn't the most dignified attack or retreat, it didn't matter. If it worked, Midnight would be diving through the big mans legs.. right as the petals began to stick to the elephant, and midnights tar.

Aya remained hidden behind the car with Skyfall waiting for the right moment to strike. The wait wasn't long as Midnight engaged the heroes. Aya would get the grenade into position over were the fuel tank was, looking over at Skyfall. "Are you ready kid?" She said to the boy, her hand shaking slightly as the situation got a little more tense. Skyfall would nod to her, showing no signs of hesitation. Aya let out a soft sigh. "Three... Two... One... Go." Aya didn't raise her voice or anything, dropping the now pinless grenade into the engine block of the car.

She promptly dived for cover as Skyfall flung the car, his impressive strength launching the vehicle at the petal controlling bastard. "Take this you asshole!" He yelled, the car spinning as it hurtled towards the number 7 hero. Aya had already dived behind another car in case shrapnel flew in her direction, of to get some cover if this attack didn't work. God did she pray that this would work.

"Bastard! I'll stop you with one move!" the Setokingusakura shouted as he raised his hand once more ready to call upon his power for another spear. As suddenly as the pedals were going to gather suddenly a cop shouted out, "KINGU! WATCH OUT!" the hero suddenly snapped back into consciousness as he looked over and saw a car hurdling towards him. He attempted to raise his hand to blow that car back at the ground to save himself but at the same time the car exploded due to some other source. The explosive blast burnt the petals surrounding king, and sent him flying backwards as he smacked onto the ground quite the distance away with a loud thud. He let out pained low moan as his sidekick whom had recovered but had stayed back rushed to the aid of her teacher who was covered in burnt marks, and was rather limp. He had made a rookie mistake, and had paid for it dearly. He was now mostly unable to defend himself it would seem. The petals around Midnight fell to the ground in a mess getting stuck in tar.

"YOU SON OF A BITCH! THAT WAS MY FUCKING FRIEND!!!!! RAH!!!" the elephant man shouted as he tried to forcibly reached out towards Midnight but was unable to. He thrashed around the ground causing miniature quakes as he did so. He raged violently, and the ground itself shuddered as he seemed to be ripping the ground apart pulling it up with him. "Boss is telling us to pull out! Quirk users pull out now! Coordinates are the black zone!" called out the lieutenant as he threw out a smoke grenade. He, and his men followed suit with more as the area was covered in a thick haze. The Black Zone was the currently under construction subway tunnel about roughly a half a mile away or so. Shade Walker had apparently decided that was where their exit zone would be at. The cops fired aimlessly into the smoke as the mercenaries returned fire but the shots faded as the men ran.

Meanwhile the spider kid was knocked unconscious by a random soldier as he was too focused on Disel to actually pay attention to her men. They themselves threw some smoke grenades and went to their destination some distance away with Disel in to in order to drop off the money at the cash van. It was a rather big hassle, and it would seem that Captain East had the harder job as most of the news copters were at his battle location some distance away. The citizens still around the area were in a panic, and could pose no real threats to the villains as they ran away. As the crew got to the zone they had Disel deposit the money away inside of the car, and decided it was time to get the fuck out. They left Disel the option to go with them or not but one way or another the van sped away with their lot.

"Goodbye."

Midnight glided effortlessly from the rampaging grey armored hero, eager to putnsome distance between the both of them before the final crescendo revealed the true nature of the sticky filths potential. Part of the cosmic villain believed it would be enough to finish him for good but a more rational part of his mind knew it would just toss the poor fellow painfully.
Not that Midnight particularly cared.

With a simple press of his will, power cosmics tar detonated in a violent explosion, like before it would leave a crater where the elephant man had been standing, what became of him would be revealed some other time. For now it was time to deliver a message, an ominous warning of things to come.

Gliding over the destruction, his suit unable to sustain true flight higher than a few feet, Midnight approached the downed hero and their huddled sidekick. From every inch of his body, the clothing cut away to reveal the metal exoskeleton, shimmered his black and purple body, the universe itself dancing across it in a mesmerising display of colors.

"It is a shame. For such a country as this. The sun sets on your homeland, heroes. MIDNIGHT will bring eternal darkness to your 'land of the rising sun.' Consider yourself warned and stay out of my way."

Midnight pointed his hand at the downed hero, his powers swelling up in preparation of a larger blast that would likely vaporize the defenseless hero, but gunfire from the building and a toss of smoke grenades waa as clear a signal to leave as anything. Their job had been completed.
Power cosmic dispersed harmlessly into his mass as the arm was lowered.

"Pray there is no next time."

With his message loud and clearly defining himself as a threat, Midnight slid from his metallic shell, discarded broken metal that no longer served a purpose, before taking off into the skies and off to the next hideout. There was a second shell he would retrieve to obscure himself between here and the meeting place.

The heroic sidekick wasted no time since they were clear, and out of the smoke clearing she had enough time to grab her mentor, make sure her was able to hang on with his remaining strength, and then backed off as Midnight fired his blast a blur of silver appeared and in an instant the two of them were gone second before the impact detonated the ground where they were. The smoke was still there thankfully when Midnight decided to retreat the other people were too busy trying to figure out what was going on to see him slunk away.
