Chinese telepathy.

Also, hellhound, I don't think AUGs are still in active use in this time, or L96s.

Its up to konrad though.

I approve of this hypothesis. ^^

Anyway, I think AUGs should be fine. It's a good weapon and I can foresee it being used decades into the future. Maybe not the A3 specifically, but an updated version. That said, I'm guessing your character's a marksman, so he'd probably be using the HBAR-T variant of the A3. The 42 round mag is really more for the HBAR version, and an M203 doesn't really fit a marksman character. Maybe give it a bipod and a scope of your choice.

Love the character Skythikon. A clear and unique specialisation in AT/bunkerbusting is nice too. I find it much easier to play a character when I know what role it performs within the group and it doesn't overlap excessively with other characters.

HellHoundWoof (awesome name btw) your character's background is much improved! Not sure where I stand on the equipment. I love the aug as a gun to the point I have had an airsoft version (which unfortunately I lost. Managed to get an F2000 in it's place though so it's not all bad) but it doesn't seem to be listed as a weapon the CTRG would commonly use (theres a list in the OP). That being said there is an up to date version of the SA80 so I guess the same could be true for the aug, ultimately the final say so lies with the "king" I guess. One thing I would say is you seem to have specialised in sniping which I think Kingkonrad was trying to avoid having within the group, he specified marksman instead of sniper and we already have a marksman. It may be worth changing specialisation (sorry!). I really sympathise with all the difficulty you've had finding a compatible character. You should have seen the first CS I sent konrad.

I detailed the contents of Sgt. Linn's Aid Bag in the CS. As he is the team's healthcare specialist (combat medic) and responsible for their medical needs, is there any medications/items that he would need to have for any of your characters?

Hmmm... Are we talking allergies/conditions and the like? I hadn't considered that as of yet but will think on it. It would have to be a condition that wouldn't impede combat ability or anything that could compromise a mission.

Yeah. Anything they would need on a regular basis. Being a combat medic isn't only about stabbing chest decompression needles into soldiers that got shot in the lung.

You're all too kind. ^^

I try to keep my characters three-dimensional and fleshed out. I'd look like the worst sort of hypocrite for taking shots at shoddy writing otherwise.

Definitely, I can agree with that one- Skythion always does it good, and that CZ805 is mean, especially since the variant would definitely be compatible barrel and accessory wise with other NATO weapons of 6.5mm caliber.

Also, I'm about to kick the barrel over in terms of what's going to go down. Brace yourselves- I've got some mind-blowing tactical mapping coming up.

Just on the topic of weapons now, since this needs to be resolved.

Sadly, the AUG wouldn't be in service. When you think of it, it's an awesome gun, but it's been in service for almost 40 years by now in certain armies, and though that is usually the length of a weapon's service in most armies, the SCAR in this universe is classed as a pretty old-school weapon. Plus there's weapon compatiability- and the reason I wanted only a certain band of weapons to be used, is simply due to modularity and parts configuration. The commoness of the fourth-generation SCAR weapons, MSBS platform and MX systems, along with one or two very niche guns such as the Mk18 or other smaller platforms within CTRG and NATO on the whole means that weapons are moreover interchangerble for barrel length, stocks and suitability. You can turn a MXC into an MXM with the right tools, a new stock and barrel/RIS change, wheras having an AUG, an MX and a MSBS would render a whole lot of weapons un-configurable. It's something that we currently have an issue with- and since weapons are adaptable, there's a gun already for any need and purpose. So the AUG is a loose cannon- within CTRG in terms of assault rifles/battle rifles, we've already got an outdated 5.56 weapon, the SCAR-L in multiple configurations for any need, and there's the MX and MSBSA2 for any 6.5mm and the Mk18 ABR (AKA the Mk14 EBR) and the SCAR-H for 7.62mm. This, in some ways it what militaries want to do in future- rather than having an HK416, an M4, an M16 and a SCAR in service, why not just have one that does everything with a bit of modularity anyway- something that we've almost got here with this setup? We're talking at least 20 years in the future, so that's a creative liberty that fits well, and though there are one or two weapons, IE the CZ805-A4 that Mischief is using, I'd rather have that as the exception rather than the rule due to the fact that it's still a fresh weapon from today and would be likely compatible to NATO standards with the MX and L85A4 series in barrel changing and it's maintenance. I'd rather you picked out a more suitable weapon- if it's anything, just take a MX of some sort, since I doubt that the AUG would really be updated at this point in the future. Also, no snipers- I don't want one. I may develop a sniper duo in the future, but this is going to be limited at best, and since CTRG is primarily an infantry team, as is with real life, soldiers don't run around with sniper rifles. Designated Marksmen exist on a fireteam level- Snipers exist at a platoon-commanded level, that's the main difference and why snipers aren't integral to combat at this stage.

You're almost there with the CS mate- but I just need a few more little things, like that really. Aim for a rifleman role at the moment- I can specialize your character to perhaps be another grenadier or a combat mechanic.

We could definitely do with a combat engineer. I've lost count of the times my friends and I had to hike it to the objective in ARMA III 'cause we drove our APC into an indestructible fence and lost our wheels.

He could also take some of the burden for AT fire, so Mischief can fully focus on being anti-structural with the capability for AT. (In the form of a 2:1 rocket load out in terms of bunker-busting to anti-armour)

I think he's busy with his post and I've got the time, so I'll do him a favour and summarize it. Though I've had classmates and friends who were dyslexic, they were rather vague when it came to describing how it affected them, so to be safe, I'll extract the important bits in point form.

- The AUG is considered old even today and thus would probably not be in service during the time frame of this RP

- The 4th Gen SCAR, MSBS and MX rifle systems were designed to have common parts with one another. An AUG might mess up that design point. The reason I got a pass with the CZ-805 is because it's a very new weapon. It's still being phased in to the Czech army as of 2014 and thus would not take a stretch of the imagination to see it having an upgraded version in this time frame.

- It would be preferable if you took an MX rifle. He'd like to keep fictional weapons to a minimum for this RP.

- No snipers, since snipers function independently of squads. This is a squad-based RP, and thus what we have is a marksman. Snipers may be introduced later on, but not at this stage.

- No worries though, there's a spot for a combat engineer if you're willing to take it. Your character will be in charge of clearing obstacles, disarming traps, laying traps, digging entrenchments, performing on-the-spot repairs of vehicles, etc, etc.

Hope this helps!

Ok I understood the sniper thing thats only if he needs to be a sniper for some mission he will not be a sniper all the time. I'll take the MX, AUG being edited out now, I can handle being a combat engineer.

Cheers Skythion- that's basically everything I wanted to say in a nutshell!

And now, onto sniping- I introduced a GM6 Lynx, but that's Athena's responsibility, IF it needs to be used. That thing is fucking awesome, and it's her responsibility if say, more hefty shooting needs to be done when shit hits the fan to use it. I'd assume they're about a 8 or even 9 out of ten to be on the team, though Designated Marksmen/Women in CTRG still have the opportunity to use their battle rifle/designated marksman rifle in full auto (ie. the MXM/Mk18 can still fire automatic) when needed for CQC.
