Aer Pacifica
46 | Female | 85 | 5'0
Water | Native | Elf Description A cunning rouge with wit as sharp as the finest steel. Aer Pacifica's small frame holds a wealth of talent and fury seen in few people even twice her size.
Appearance Description (optional) Aer is unusually short for an elf. Her body is very petite, and typically clad in her favorite red vestments. She also wears long, black stockings, and has accessorized herself so much that she could be mistaken for a teenager's flip phone. People joke that she looks like a golden comet when she's seen bounding along roof tops at night. Aer does make use of a cloak to hide her ears when she's moving in unfamiliar teritory.
Personality Aer Is a cautious sort, never to trust without good reason to. She does possess a fair bit of charisma, though she has more of a commanding personality than an attractive one. Aer will typically be the first one to make a decision and expect everyone else to follow her. This however is not the case when she is drunk. She is very light, and it doesn't take much to get her tipsy. It doesn't help that she really likes the taste of good beer. When she's intoxicated, she becomes much more gentle and even flirty, but she tends to come back to her senses quickly. Drunk or not, Aer has very little respect for personal space. She will frequently poke someone's chest to make a point, or clutch their hand when pleading for something. Though she seldom interacts with people intimately, especially when sober. She's also fast with comebacks.
But when the chips are down, she's all fire and brimstone. She'll bark out orders like a pirate captain and not think twice about shooting intimidating words at her opponents. Her determination is unshakable.
Bio Aer grew up in Kara, which was a small fishing town near Roswaal Manor. She had humble beginnings, but as an only child her parents gave her everything. She had better education than most children in her town, and wore outfits that were just outside her “social status.”
Going into her teens, some unsavory thieves knew they could use the young elf. She helped them steal many valuable items, only to turn the thieves in with their treasure weeks later once she was bored with them. She attempted to steal many other items on her own, always returning what she had taken in secret. It was just innocent fun for a delinquent like Aer.
But her parents knew this wasn't really a good thing. To try to cure her boredom, they had her tutor under a renown spear man named Gerwyn. She learned a lot from the man, and over the years their relationship matured from a student and master to something more akin to lovers. Aer was rapidly approaching adulthood, and she was starting to look at the other sex differently. But their feelings for each other were mutual. Until he betrayed her.
Gerwyn had been using their relationship as an excuse to go to her home and case it out. Her teacher stole her family's life savings and many precious heirlooms before skipping town. He almost got away with it, but the authorities managed to stop him a week later when he visited one of his other “sweethearts.” But this taught Aer a valuable lesson about the damage stealing can cause, even if the item is promptly returned.
Aer knew that she wasn't going to get very far in the town of Kara, and started to drift. Her elf heritage made things difficult, but with her ears covered up most were happy to make use of her services. She currently works for the Gulendam adventurer's guild, which keeps her gainfully employed and running all over the continent. While every adventurer does their fair share of monster slaying, Aer also tends to take requests that make use of her skills. This can involve anything as serious as finding missing or hiding people, or something as mundane as opening a door when the owner locked themselves out.

Abstract MagicsDivine Protection: Legacy Learning
Aer can instantly become the master of any item she picks up. She can play the piano like all the classics, wield any weapon like a true master, and know how to operate any piece of machinery she's put in front of.
But there's a catch.
When Aer touches an item, she is only as good as the best person to ever touch said item. So if she picks up a spear that belonged to a footman, she'll lose to a true master. If she plays on a child student's piano, she'll miss note after note. If someone forges her a sword and hands it to her, she can only be expected to perform as well as the blacksmith who made it. And it's not enough for an item to simply have touched the hand of a skilled individual. It needs to have belonged to them and used for some time for it to be realized by Aer's blessing. This only takes effect if Aer's own inherent skill with the item is lower than the most talented person to hold it.
It is possible to cheat however. If Aer were to pick up a ring that belonged to a renown swordsman, she could wield his choice sword very well as long as she was wearing that ring. This is why Aer's uniform is so heavily accessorized. Every trinket bestows her with one skill or another.
What this all translates to is that Aer can use just about any item with some level of competence, and can have above average competence if the item was held by a master. Of course, this doesn't make any alterations to Aer's body to prepare her for the original holder's technique. As an example, Just because Aer is holding a wood ax that belonged to a woodsman doesn't mean she can spend all day cutting down trees. She's still a 5 foot, 85 pound elf that would tire very quickly from such strenuous activity. It should also be noted that Aer cannot absorb all the knowledge in a book just by picking it up. She will simply be able to turn the pages like the best page turner.
The only above average skills she has at the moment are skills that relate to roguish activities. Her gloves belonged to a thief, so she can pick locks and has really sticky fingers. She also holds Gerwyn's spear which he used in the wars he managed to survive. Most of her other accessories are random odds and ends that likely won't ever help her on her adventures. Most are simply trinkets passed down from her family, who were decent fisherman, seamstresses, and cobblers.
