You can do both - experiment as you travel.

@Nightknight There's no need to write a half-dozen large paragraphs if you don't want to. A couple sentences is fine. Don't feel pressured to write more than you're comfortable with. :-)

@Thinslayer Thanks! :) Its good to know that brevity and wit need not be distant. I won't be writing my next post until later today due to class. My only issue is balancing adding details on actions done by other characters with my own musings.

Might take me a few posts before I get into that writing rhythm.

@Nightknight The purple color text is a bit dark for me to read. Could you use a lighter color next time please? :3

@Thinslayer Sure! I'll go for a lighter shade of purple or indigo.

@Thinslayer May I make use of some minor magic in my next post? I like the idea of Liliana showing Goro that magic is an instrument of will, plus i think it would make sense for her to have at least a modicum of understanding of the basics.

I don't think anyone is particularly familiar with the basics yet. At this point, most magic casting is accidental. Some may have put two and two together, but it's still highly experimental. Realistically, people are likely to have incorrect theories on how magic works.

That's why we're doing this more or less D&D style - you propose a mechanism of action for your spell, and I'll tell you whether it works and/or what it looks like when you cast it.

@Thinslayer Is the text easier on the eyes?

To finally answer your question, yes, it's a little easier, thank you. :)

Anyway, after struggling with the story for a while (hence my absence), I had an epiphany: you guys already wrote it. Each character has a hometown in a completely different setting. If each town had some major continental issue, like orc slavers up north for example, we could justify visiting each of them. Then, we could have whole story arcs for each character, and the player would get to be GM of his respective character arc.

What's still tripping me up, however, is the initial trip out. We can timeskip everything else, but not this one. That means I gotta think of stuff for us to do - unless your characters do that for me. Feel free to create NPCs in that endeavor.

I'll be posting soon, after replying to various PMs. :P

@Thinslayer

Well, using my time as an old DnD GM, we could simple timeskip between travel phases but zero in on “interactive” moments. For example ya ruling out of the town and going on the road could be skipped, but then maybe we run across a random event (I can think of a few) that we could either interact with or ignore. Then we reach our appointed destination and go for a more traditional dungeon crawl or rogue type from there.

Yeah, look like I may have to. Getting new members up to speed is tough, but I should just bite the bullet.

Considering we're still sorta in the first stage of things, I'm sure it won't be hard for them to adjust IC. We could say that these newcomers are like, a previous group that we have to pick up or something.
