Sure! He hasn't actually done /anything/ by the start of the IC. He's starting his senior year expecting everything to more or less be the same as it was the previous one. I don't necessarily think he's gonna handle it all with grace.

On another note, it'd be neat so see some of the other Hypes have it out for Marcus, considering his father's a massive piece in the suppression and imprisonment of Hyperhumans.

◼ W E E K 0 0 1: The world of Crestwood shows Hyperhumans as being possibly one of the most oppressed races in history, they're unable to hold positions of authority nor able to use their gifts without fear of punishment. How does this affect your character and their relationship with society both as a whole and within the confines of a highschool social heirarchy? How has discovering that they are a Hyperhuman changed their worldview?


For Felix, the intentions of his decisions and his achievements were clouded by the, already harsh, judgement of his parents. Obsessing with trying to impress or earn the approval of his parents, he paid little mind to the oppression of hyperhumans until he became one himself. It was very easy for Felix to overlook the discrimination occurring since it was never an obstacle for his true goals in sight. However, his parents are very present within political and cultural standings of oppressing the hyperhumans, believing that all humans should be equivalent in nature within a protected system to avoid dangerous inequalities of power. Upon the day he was gifted with his powers, he used them blindly and became lost within his naive and competitive essence, believing that he could use them to his advantage while going unnoticed.

Thus, he used them slyly to his advantage until it became apart of him. Without these powers, his substantial improvements would take a toll, putting him back on the stubborn plateau of his strength before the dawn of his powers. And as it was so, the discovery of his powers occurred and he was made to be one of the biggest laughing stocks of the highschool population. Cheater, liar, idiot, try-hard, worthless, etc. The list seemed endless, and every term chipped away at his confidence until he became a mess of self-hatred and shame.

Concurrently, his parents shunned him for being their biggest disappointment, and their work also took a toll as they raised a troubling hyperhuman that made the headlines of numerous articles and news castings. They, too, were casted negatively -- hypocrites, illiterate, ignorant, etc. Turning to anger, they stripped Felix of what little he had left after being exposed. They took his car, they took his video games and other recreational outlets, they grounded him from going out into public, and they forced him to wear an ability suppression device in the form of a gold bracelet.

Felix views the oppression against hyperhumans as valid. He sees them to have an unfair advantage when it comes to a plethora of things, creating a forced inequality between the human race on a level that greatly surpasses the simple differences such as race, skin color, hair color, etc. Whether this outlook be strongly influenced from the work of his parents, from the self-hatred he has of being a disgrace, or from his true outlook -- Felix believes that it's a curse upon humans. The hyperhumans face oppression, while the normal humans struggle with their placement in society -- everybody seems to lose.

Alright, got some verdicts!

The following characters have been ACCEPTED:

◼ Weston, Marcus as portrayed by @Hillan

◼ Wenrong, Jiao-long as portrayed by @Odin

◼ Brooks, Felix as portrayed by @Lionhearted

◼ Whäner, Esther as portrayed by @Prisk

The following characters will be considered after AMENDMENTS:

◼ Harper, Ivy as portrayed by @BoyMom69035
The only issue preventing acceptance at this point is that we find the powers are almost a little on the weak side. We have concerns about Ivy being able to heal people by taking their injuries without any method to protect or heal herself. We'd like to see something added to her ability to bolster her a little bit.

◼ Hope, Benjamin as portrayed by @Aeolian
The sheet is solid but we have some concerns about the abilities and how the drawbacks feel very limited. If we're both understanding the way the powers have been described, it seems like it could be simplified to intangibility. The other thing that sticks out is that the largest drawbacks to using his power don't happen until after he finishes using it, so we'd like to see the limitations and weaknesses reworked as well.

◼ Estrella, Genessy as portrayed by @Ejected
There's two issues we found when reviewing this sheet, our primary concern however is the powers. Genessy seems quite overpowered and although strain of creating clones is mentioned, we're not exactly sure how many clones she can create before feeling that strain. The entire process is a little on the vague side and Roman and I both feel as though two to three clones should be her max production rate especially at this point. Additionally, neither of us like how the Hive Mind shifts when the 'Host' body dies as it makes her feel somewhat invincible.

The second issue is that her personality feels contradictive. On one hand, she's a social butterfly but on the other hand, she's a introvert and stand offish. It just feels like two conflicting personalities, which could work really well if her Hyperhuman ability was to create one duplicate thus creating a dual personality but in this case I don't know if it works.


Lastly the following characters are declined, Roman and I both appeciate your interest and the time you took to create character sheets but at this time we don't feel like the characters are a good fit.

Awesome. I think their friendship could also have a deeper statement to it—Ben being of Jewish heritage and Esther's father and grandfather sympathizing with World War II German ideology, which makes them opposites to say the least. Their friendship would be a rebellion in itself.

The dad thing is a good lead-in for Esther trying out the whole hallucination/dream side of her ability. Maybe Ben would agree to having her practice on him at some point and have him meet his father based on memories? Lots of possibilities for bonding and better understanding.


I love these ideas Prisk. I hadn't even thought about the parallels between their ethnic backgrounds. I really love the idea of Ben being able to pseudo reconnect with his dad through his memories that Esther can fabricate in his mind.

Hmm. I'm fine with either. Although I do have an idea. What if we start off on the first day, so we can get kind of established, and then transition into the The Hyperhuman Social Conscience Program. I keep imagining it kind of Danger Room-ish. :P The professor taking us somewhere to practice our powers. And then maybe we can time skip a few weeks in where we go on a field trip to some kind of power plant or something of the sort. Then a dangerous accident occurs, and the students have to use their powers to save people and themselves from the catastrophe. I don't know. Just ideas running in my head. Sorry. :P

God damn, sign language is no joke to learn. I gave up after a few videos. I'll probably have to color-code different kinds of 'speech' that Esther has, at least when it's words. Like, a quote like "this" is sign language; "this" is telepathy; and "this" is written text.
