Lol. Yeah I'm not really sure who is still around either... Everybody tends to be very in and out with this RP, which is cool. I like that it's not too intensive.

Anyway, @13org, I was just stating that you don't need to worry about taking liberties with the character since she is going after your character. Not so much that it's your turn post. lol. As always, take your time :)

Also @Fetzen, In my last post I stated to of the cult members are going after your character and one is a magic user. In regards to the magic user, feel free to do whatever you want with him. That's for you to have fun with. You can give him an existing magic system or something else. Whatever you want. Don't feel pressured to explain the magic system either. Just have fun with it.

Lol, Karina is quite the cold character. So, there's a lot of "woulds" in it. It's a lot to sort through would you be able to give me a few quick cliff notes of what I should be mindful of when preparing a response? I'll wait for others to post before I do so though.

Yeah, I only wrote that way to avoid 'auto-hits' or anything like that. Basically do whatever you feel like doing XD

Since she was basically charging towards Karina (who was already prepared and alert) what Karina did was basically dash towards her, use the brief moment of surprise to get out of the way and dodge the woman's attack while counterattacking herself.

All in all, if she wants to compete against Karina, she will either need help (dueling is Karina's strong point after all (wields a rapier & etc.)) Or at least find a way to suppress her magic.

Btw, Karina is cold while 'on battle' or basically when working. Outside of those situations she is actually quite sweet. If you're kind to her, ofc.

I see, I see. Sounds good to me! I suspect this dance may require co-op however.

I also had some inspiration, during my break at work, while I was considering how she would react. I see this encounter between Tayla and Karina as something that will spark a fixation within Tayla. There are some interesting parallels between the two characters now that I think about it. It seems like a fun dynamic to explore.

Of course bud! You're more than welcome to hop back in. It took us a few months, but we got to some action lol.

-So right now we are on the rooftops. Sil still hasn't reappeared since Syella took her out.

-Chres is also out cold. Syella got him with sneak attack, lifting him off the ground with her weird body extension abilities and then slamming him back down onto the ground. He also injured his leg in the fire FYI.

-The majority of the cult was distracted by Octavio's illusions, so we are no longer surrounded.

-We got a newcomer, @Fetzen. His character is a giant of a man.

-We had another new character who was a healer, but she appears to have left. A shame, I know, but we'll manage. We'll just act as if her character is hanging around. Chres is going to need her skills.

-@HokumPocus I think is still with us. He's been posting at his regular rate.

-Oh, and also there was a fall out with Hark and Karina. Everybody now knows who Karina is, Chres accidentally let it slip. Hark then pulled a blade on Karina. That led to an argument. Chres stepped in and chose a poor choice of words, so that didn't help lol. Anyway, not sure where that will lead as we haven't heard from Elevation since.

-Lastly, Hark identified a hideout that he has which is where they were heading before Syella interjected.

One thing to be aware of, this scene will eventually end with a reveal of a weapon of sorts that can be used against the Sightless. But that may be a month or so away at the rate that this RP goes. For now have fun having a go at Syella. I know you've been itching to do so.

Don't know about that since I haven't rped in any recent amount of time and it'll be crappy.

Anyway shame about the healer character being gone, would have been fun to be a dubious role model to her kid.

So here's the overview for how the enemies are spread.

We got one guy going for the Healer, with no abilities

Two people are up against Fetzen's character a male magic user, it's magic isn't specified, and a female Clan member with no abilities

We got a male magic deterrent user and Tayla, a magic user, up against Karina.

A female magic deterrent user taking out the illusions and trying to find out which Octavio is the real Octavio.

And then we got a male Clan member holding the innkeeper's child hostage. I just decide to make that guy a hearing adept since I haven't been doing anything with adepts

Lastly we got Syella. She'll probably go for people who haven't been covered by the other clan members, or she will assist and taking out the most Troublesome characters

Hey guys, so I had a discussion Org in regards to magic deterrents. She wanted to know the exact rules in regards to them. To be honest with you guys, I had fully thought it out, derp is me haha.

Anyway we discussed it in our collab and Org threw me the idea that they way magic deterrents should work is by blocking/dulling/hindering the sense that the magic is reliant upon. This just made waaaay to much sense to pass on. So kudos to Org for the idea. I'm going to make the concept official now.

That being said, I figured we should change up what a few of the magic deterrent are. We are going to keep skunk spray and numbing oil for now. Those work well enough. The idea with the skunk spray being that it is so intense that it blocks out all other smells.

Hearing Magic deterrents will now be a malformed Tuning Fork which we will call an Untuning Fork for lack of a better name. Basically the concept behind the untuning fork is that is purposefully designed in a flawed manner with a special type of metal. It creates a combination of a high and low frequency pitches which mixes together to create a wavy soundings short of sound effect. The sound is irritating to one's ear and will create a ringing sound temporarily.

Using the Untuning fork too often can cause hearing loss. So it's usually a good idea for a magic deterrent user to give the fork a down period before using it again.


Sight magic deterrents will now have two different types. The main type will a dust like sand found deep within The Dead Sands. The sand is called Dust Sand due to how small and fine the individual particles are. It's tiny size makes it linger in the air when thrown. Contact with the eyes will cause the eyes to tear and one's eyesight will become blurry temporary. When breathed in, the sand has a faint odor of rot.

Shadow metal will still be a thing and can be use to disrupt light based magic. Shadow Metal is the black sheep of magic deterrents as it doesn't work like the rest. There will be reasons for this that are related to the new 'weapon' that I plan to reveal at the end of this scene.

Taste Magic can be deterred with Liquid Ageusia. A liquid found in the peaks of Sensory Range. On contact with the skin, the liquid will seep into the blood stream and cause a temporary dryness in one's mouth and a dulling one's sense of taste. When salt is added to the liquid, it turns into a gaseous vapor. It's not as effective in it's gas form and can only work if inhaled in such a state.
