Plasma PistolBio: Clyde was raised on a suppressed settlement in the backwaters of FoS controlled space. The settlement was taxed mercilessly to pay for the "protection" the FoS gave them, which was nothing more than a band of drunken sailors with nothing more than a worn down, out of date cruiser. This bankrupting defense team was not able to protect the colony once from the several raider attacks made during Clyde's childhood. He was raised with a hatred for the FoS, and was determined to make them pay for their actions. He planned on doing this by using their resources against them.
And that he did... sort of. Upon being old enough to register, Clyde managed to fake his way into the FoS's military academy. Upon completing his basic training he went on to school in Sound and Radar Operations. He had been fascinated with this technology since he was a kid and managed to track the run-down cruiser orbiting his home planet. After graduating he was assigned to the
FSS Vanguard, assigned to hunting the pirates working against the FoS. On their third encounter with pirates, the head radar man was killed, and Clyde got a promotion.
The next few weeks were quiet, but Clyde was searching for a ship willing to help him out. Eventually he had managed to find a very, very faint sound coming from what had to be a pirate ship. He pinged their ship one single time, followed by a message containing the schematics of the Vanguard and the coordinates of their current location. Attached to that message was a single request: To get Clyde off of the damned ship and fighting against the FoS. Sure enough, the pirates, led by none other than the notorious Nathaniel Flint, arrived and honored Clyde's request. After boarding the ship, a 'rescue' team went to find Clyde and another went off to plant charges on the ship. Upon returning to the Void Star they detonated the charges, leaving nothing but scrap from the
FSS Vanguard. After meeting the man known as Star Reaper, Clyde was accepted into the crew due to his offering of the
FSS Vanguard and Clyde's detecting of the Void Star in the first place.
