Hello! Is it okay if I join in? I can work on my character by this weekend.
Yep, put up an application and I will let you know.

@Shapesplitter For future reference, please do not post a character in the Character Tab until it has been accepted. The Character Tab is only for characters who have undergone a review and been accepted by me. Until such a time it is an application.

OMG I'm so sorry. I was on the Characters tab to reference approved characters. I thought I switched tabs to OOC when I posted my character application. I'm really sorry. :(
I’m cooking up a character rn. Hope to get them done in at least a few days : D
Time Alteration | Lio Woods can manipulate time to specific extents. He can give someone more time to act or move faster than normal, take some of their time to make them act or move slower than normal, or completely trap them all in time. That sounds cool and maybe even overpowered, right? That's because the devil is in the details. Most people often skim that part. They see something cool, it's most definitely cool. No one takes the time to properly go through things anymore. With this ability, Kingston? can give them that time. Lio's ability is actually three parts of the same whole: (A) he can give people increased speed, acceleration, agility, and even velocity; (B) he can slow time for up to six targets within a 40-foot-cube range, making them move and act slower than normal, almost half of their ordinary speed, and therefore unable to react effectively; and (C) he can briefly stop the flow of time for everyone but himself. His ability is not without limitations, though, and boy are they very limiting.
Limitation(s) | Although his ability is believed to be limitless, Lio isn't actually that well-versed in its many and varied applications, owing to his own fears of losing his very existence in time if he overexerts his control over its domain. That said,Lio's range is very limited. Hastening or slowing time requires Lio to see his target(s). He may be able to slow time for up to six targets but they all have to be within a 40-foot-cube range. Both hastening and slowing time also only lasts for a minute. A hastened target is immediately unable to move as a wave of lethargy sweeps over them. The target may even die.
Stopping time completely affects everyone but himself, which means no time passes for anyone but himself, allowing him to act and move normally while everyone else is stuck in place without being aware of that fact. It's cool but also lonely and very dangerous. Time will immediately resume if (A) Lio comes into any form of contact, whether deliberate or not, with another being or any object worn or carried by another being; or (B) Lio moves more than 1,000 feet from where he originally stopped time. Because of the amount of energy it takes to stop time, Lio can barely use this ability for a whole minute.
The amount of time he can alter is dependent on the amount of sleep he gets, with each hour of sleep equivalent to one minute of time he can alter the next day. That means that if Lio slept a full five hours the night before, he will be able to alter a total of five minutes the next day. That means he can hasten or slow time five times that day. This is because his ability consumes his own save energy, the potential he has stored from resting. Using his ability too much will exhaust him and may even lead to fainting on the spot or even death. Lio has experienced reactive hypoglycemia (sugar crash) when he hastened too much time slightly. If he's exhausted, his abilities may even fail to work.
Lio cannot and will not even attempt to travel back or forward in time. It's too problematic and he doesn't even know or want to know if he can actually do that.
Weakness(es) | Knocking Lio out is the most effective way to render his ability null right then and there. He needs to concentrate and use up energy for his ability to work. Taking his concentration and disrupting his energy flow is a surefire way to have him use his ability. Anyone who can sense beyond the normal may also quickly realize Lio's using his abilities given their apt perception but still won't be able to resist the effects of time alteration if currently in place. Because his ability is reliant on energy, it is possible for anyone who can control their own energy to challenge Lio's time alteration and force themselves out of his control.

With his height, his weight is below average compared to other men. Despite the fact that he's mixed, Nathan's complexion looks more white and might get mistaken as only being white. And due to the fact that he is homeless, he tends to wear used clothes from places like Goodwill or the Salvation Army. He always looks tried with bags under his eyes and the way that he walks lazily due to how difficult finding a comfortable place to sleep is in a city. Character Synopsis ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ The Castillo-Armstrong family were a respectful wealthy family and owners of Midwest Realty, a housing company in the Midwest. In addition, they were investors in several different companies, retailers, studios, and even products. However, the Castillo-Armstrong was working for a well known crime family in the background, providing them business opportunities beyond the city. Meanwhile, Abigail Castillo-Armstrong was shocked to learn that she was pregnant with Nathan. Abigail and Santino already had five other children to care, but neither of them wanted an abortion. Thus, Nathan Fox Castillo-Armstrong was born on the nineteenth of May. It was hard for Nathan because he was the youngest child. The one that nobody expected. Nathan wasn't given as much attention as the other children received. But he still was raised by his mom and dad. Then, he became ten years old. The 2008 financial crisis changed the entire world, including the Castillo-Armstrong family for the worst. As the result, Santino further increased their involvement with the crime family by hosting illegal gambling events. It puts pressure and stress on Abigail and Santino to maintain their wealth and businesses. As a result, they started to focus more on business than being a family. Besides the youngest two, most of their children were working and it seemed reasonable to fully focus on their businesses. Unfortunately, it meant that Nathan wasn't given the love that his siblings got and that made him angry. He resented his parents for not caring and loving him compared to the others while he was growing up. Both middle and high school were hell for him. Even with the family name, he never truly borrowed by everyone. He knew a few people from school but he never hung out with them beyond school. While his siblings were getting ready with their future, Nathan was still figuring his out. Despite him being an unplanned child, both Abigail and Santino expected Nathan to do something important with his life. They had expectations for their children, especially Nathan. Everything that he attempted to do wasn't good enough in their eyes. He saw the disappointment in their eyes during their long arguments. And as a result, it affected him in school and at work. He became depressed and started to question everything that he was doing. Then, high school was over and Nathan still had no plan for the future. Frustrated with their son, his parents threaten to kick him out if he didn't attend university for a law degree. His father made the decision for him while his mother helped him pack. They pressured Nathan to attend university for a degree that he didn't want but he tried regardless. At the end, however, he failed his classes and the university kicked him out. He returned home and wanted his parent to comfort him for once. Instead, he was given some money and told that he had ruined the family name for the last time. He managed to get a decent job as a waiter for a waiter before he was let go. Then, he left his apartment because he couldn't pay for it anymore. Nathan left behind Michigan and went to Wisconsin in the hopes of finding work until his life was changed forever. He was sleeping nearby Morgan Corp building when he heard an altercation and decided to investigate. That was when he saw Ink for the first time, fighting against the local security. Then, he was seen by some of the security. Under strict orders that no outsiders would ever see their projects, they decided to shoot him. Nathan thought that he was going to die on the spot until the creature entered his body. Suddenly, he ended up in a warehouse face to face with his savior. It explained everything from its origins in a Morgan Corp lab for its purpose as a powerful spy tool. But, it wanted freedom. So, it asked Nathan for his help to maintain it. No matter what. With no other purpose in his life, Nathan accepted the offer and allowed the creature to coexist with him. In return, he had to help him with a few things. It accepted. When he asked for a name, the creature said it never had one but was referred as "Subject INK-0210." In response, Nathan gave him the name of "Ink" because of his ink-like appearance. And that was the beginning of their friendship. They were thieves for a few months before Morgan Corp caught up them. Another few were spent hiding and tracking them to Chicago before damaging their business to make them leave Nathan and Ink alone. It worked. Now, after all the violence and destruction, Nathan wanted a clean start and his only friend couldn't agree more. After much thinking, they decided that Santa Celia was the perfect place to start over. |
Hmm that basically poaches my alien thing I wanted to do. Kind of out of ideas at this point.
<Snipped quote by Dead Cruiser>
What was your alien idea?
<Snipped quote by Lord Wraith>
A teenage character undergoing a transformation into some sort of alien monster.
<Snipped quote by Dead Cruiser>
Was it a symbiotic/parasitic relationship like Star Lord's sheet or was it more of a 'they had always been an alien, just weren't aware of it' deal. The latter could be quite different and even similar origins can come across as completely different characters provided their abilities, personalities and backstories have enough variance.
<Snipped quote by Lord Wraith>
The latter, but the alien origin was the main thing separating him from being too similar to JunkMail's character, who is also a big monster.
