Size: height: 400 feet from top of membrane to tip of longest tendril // membrane width: 250 feet
It Came From: The Bermuda Triangle
Abilities: - Electricity Generation = The Cauldron has the ability to release large amounts of electricity at will and at various levels. It stores its electricity in the organs within its membrane. It can choose to either release the electricity from anywhere on its body as an electric field or concentrate it on its tendrils. It emits such high volts of electricity that the water around it is always boiling, hence where its name came from.
- Electricity Absorption = The Cauldron's favorite food is electricity; it can eat even when its food source is a mile away.
- Electroception = It has the ability to sense the weak bioelectric fields generated by living beings and uses it to locate them. These electric fields are generated by everything living due to the activity of their nerves and muscles. It can also sense their surrounding environment by generating electric fields and detecting distortions in these fields using electroreceptor organs (much like how echolocation works for a bat), allowing it to detect non-living objects as well as living beings.
- Bioluminescence = The Cauldron's glowing body can be seen from a mile away. It also uses its beautiful and colorful lights to attract prey and as a means of communication.
- Rapid Regeneration = It can grow back its cut tendril or damaged part of the membrane in days or weeks depending on how grave it was.
Weaknesses: - Remove its ability to generate electricity and the Cauldron is easily the weakest and easiest kaiju to defeat.
- Since it has no hard exterior, any attacks made to this kaiju are already devastating.
- The military can attack the kaiju using missiles of any sort (that is, if it can survive the Cauldron's counter-attack).
- One of its main food sources is electricity. Once it has run out of juice, it will begin to harden its membrane and enter into deep sleep.
- The Cauldron can swim using its tentacles but it is just as dependent on the ocean currents much like other jellyfishes. Anyone and anything could easily catch up to it.
History:This jellyfish monstrosity was the reason behind the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. In fact, it was the Cauldron's sleeping place for thousands of years, subconsciously absorbing any sort of electricity it can from the various airplanes and ships that pass the slumbering kaiju overhead. No one had any knowledge of the creature's existence in the Triangle because of its ability to harden its membrane to make it look like the seafloor, its long tendrils safely tucked under it. Corals and fishes made their homes atop its hardened membrane but what they don't realize is that they're gradually being exposed to higher and higher levels of electricity the more they stayed there.
Even when it was asleep, the Cauldron was able to develop its powers better. It was now capable of feeding electricity as far as both Miami and Puerto Rico. Their sudden blackouts in buildings and houses began to become more common. Power from electric plants kept on draining for no reason, vehicles couldn't start, and patients whose lives solely rely on medical machines to keep them alive were dying. Soon, both cities were completely drained of electrical power. They were forced to rely on man-made fires for light, heat, and food preparation. The situation was unbearable for the current generation who grew up being accustomed to technology, and riots began to form here and there as chaos gradually arose from public unrest.
Meanwhile, the Cauldron was taking its time feeding. The more it fed, the more its hardened membrane glowed of various lights. Soon enough, the Cauldron was back to its former glory as its membrane slowly came back to normal. The area around it began to boil from the excess electricity it has absorbed from its slumber, but the heavy weight of sunken ships, boats, and layers of stones atop its membrane kept it from moving. The Cauldron then released a huge explosion of electricity that destroyed everything to make itself free of any hindrances. However, the explosion caused an earthquake that devastated Miami and Puerto Rico followed by many humongous tsunami charged with electricity. Any living creature was immediately electrocuted as soon as the waters came on contact with them.
No one knew what caused the destruction of these two cities as they had no knowledge of the Cauldron existing yet. And as the cities were destroyed, the Cauldron began its journey of finding its next meal.
