I think faceclaim is used to generically include photos and cartoons, at least I use it that way.
In the context of the writing place I came from, FC usually meant an anime character. Or a video game character. Though if you'd prefer just a written description rather than a visual piece, I can work with that. I'm just used to the faceclaim route. I dislike using real people for FCs, unlike some folks. No disrespect to those who do it, just not my style.
