Isolated. Abandoned. Hunted.
It has been mere days since the colonies on Canaan went dark. The Unified Earthen Government, otherwise more commonly known as the UEG, has been desperately trying to hail the icy planet of Canaan, yet there is no one remaining to reply.
For the Canaanite colonists, their nightmares have been twisted into reality. What had begun with the sudden disappearance of a group of miners has reached its climax, with putrid, savage creatures gleefully slaughtering the colonies' inhabitants. Those that are unfortunate to be brutally ripped apart, however, have been refused the sweet and quick release of death they had so dearly sought; their bodies violently warped by infectious pathogens reanimating and converting once living tissue.
You, on the other hand, are one of the few remaining colonists alive on Canaan. Whether you seek to bring an end to the deadly outbreak or escape the icy reaches of Canaan, there is little room for error. Fail, and you will become one of them, but if you succeed... perhaps you'll make it out alive.

Welcome to Kyrielight! This roleplay takes place several hundred years in the future, where a united humanity has returned to their primal roots through planetary conquest. Reaping the rewards of warfare, colonists have established a colony on Canaan—an icy planet with an atmosphere that requires a spacesuit just to leave the inner colony. For sometime, Canaan had been a hot spot for corporations and miners cracking away at the planet's crust... until now.C U R R E N T L Y O P E N
When a group of miners had seemingly vanished, it would've been written off as an unfortunate accident. Yet when strange, bloodthirsty creatures had suddenly began to pour into the colony, their fate had likely become apparent as the deceased were violently warped into more of them.
That baby-like creature with a bloated sac crawling to you? Stay as far away as you can from it, lest that sac explodes. The humanoid being with scythe appendages attached to its back? Keep away from the vents and take out the limbs before it can disembowel you. No matter who you are, humanity is no longer at the top of the food chain, having been knocked down a peg by the alien threat.
Our characters will be the fortunate (or perhaps the unfortunate, depending on who you ask) few that have managed to survive the initial outbreak. With their sharp wit and a good weapon, they might just be able to bring about an end to the infection, or at least escape Canaan with their lives.
If not, they'll die trying.
Below is a list of basic rules and guidelines that will be applied to this roleplay. It is recommended that you read through them thoroughly, as everyone will be upheld to the rules. Anyone who fails to uphold the rules will be met with equal punishment depending on how severe the infraction happens to be.
Pacing: Typically, I expect at least a minimum of a post a week for any RP I GM. At the same time, however, it is understandable that someone might find themselves busy as everyone has some sort of obligation, whether it be school, work, and so on and so forth. If you do find yourself unable to post for some time, please make sure I and any CoGMs know so that your character can be moved temporarily into the background to avoid holding up the roleplay.
Posting: Whilst I don't expect everyone to be the greatest writer in the world, please try to write at a high casual to an advanced level. This doesn't mean that you should write a rambling novel, rather, it means to write something of considerable quality. Ensure your post is fluid and flows with the scene, check your grammar and spelling—that kind of stuff. Trying to cheat the system through godmodding and the like will be answered with a kick from the roleplay.
Etiquette: Put simply, don't be an ass to everyone. We're here to have fun roleplaying, so don't incite arguments and flame your fellow roleplayers. As long as you follow these rules and the guild rules, we should be fine and dandy.
