Interested. Although, would it be an option to play something other than a 5th year? A 2nd or 3rd year? Or is it for sure we're all going to be 5th years?
I don't really see the harm in being in different years, just as long as the person playing a younger student doesn't try and make them overpowered and know more than the older students.
Appearance: James is on the short side of average height, measuring approximately 5'6" with a slim, runner-like build, but don't let his size fool you; he is surprisingly strong for his small build. He keeps his brown hair short and out of his face, which is round and fair-skinned and devoid of facial hair. His eyes are leaf-green and alight with kindness and intelligence.
Personality: James is generally kind and fiercely loyal to those he cares about. He is also very brave and adventurous, but also smart enough to know when something is beyond his ability to handle. He likes games and puzzles that challenge his intellect and force him to think of things in new ways.
History: James was born to an accomplished wizard who had gone from a clerk at Flourish and Blott's to Undersecretary to the Head of Magical Law Enforcement in five short years, and a muggle professor of chemistry at a college in a small town in western England near the Welsh border. He grew up in a small house in the country where his favorite pastimes included reading everything he could get his hands on and going on adventures in the vast woods and fields outside his home. He discovered his talent for magic on one of his adventures when he was deep in the woods and ran into a large cat. James was not an expert on the local fauna, but he was pretty sure there weren't any big cats native to his particular part of the country. None of that mattered, though, as he was there, and the cat didn't look friendly. James wasn't sure what to do. He knew he couldn't outrun the cat, and he couldn't take the cat on, and the cat didn't seem to be the least bit scared of James. James was rooted to the spot in a mix of fear and uncertainty, and suddenly the cat came forward. James could never truly say what happened next, but one moment he was facing a large cat approaching him, and the next there was a harmless kitten scampering away from him. He returned home to tell his parents about what had happened. When his dad heard about this adventure, he swelled with pride and explained that he knew his boy would be a great wizard. Like any young boy, James was naturally excited at the prospect of being a wizard, and from that moment, he would read anything he could about magic and Hogwarts and the Wizarding World. He found his dad's old Hogwarts textbooks and began reading them, trying to memorize as many spells and potions from the books as possible. During his outdoor adventures, he would often take a stick and pretend it was his wand and that he could perform great magic with it, even though he could hardly even control the outcome of the magic he did most of the time. He finally got his letter from Hogwarts and all but begged his dad to take him to Diagon Alley right away so that he could get his stuff. He had to settle with waiting until the weekend to go, but once he did, he got his robes, his textbooks, his wand (sycamore and phoenix feather, 10 1/2 inches, slightly bendy), and a pet (a barn owl named Jareth). James was willing and excited to begin his education at Hogwarts. On his arrival at Hogwarts, James proved to be a hatstall. The sorting hat could not decide whether James's bravery or intelligence was his more important trait and waffled between sorting him into Gryffindor or Ravenclaw for a good ten minutes (his kindness and fierce loyalty also gained a brief consideration for Hufflepuff, but this was quickly rejected as his bravery and cleverness eclipsed his kindness and loyalty). In the end, bravery won over intelligence and James was sorted into Gryffindor, but the hat admitted during the process that James could just as easily fit into Ravenclaw. During his time at Hogwarts, James continued to pursue his passions of adventuring and learning and would be frequently found, outside of class times, either in the library or exploring the grounds, sometimes in places where he shouldn't have been, due to his thirst for adventure. James worked hard and earned good marks in all his classes, but he showed a special talent for Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures, even writing an unassigned essay on phoenixes for the latter, to the jealousy of one of his Ravenclaw classmates. In his third year, James elected to take Arithmancy, Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures, which he excelled at. Now in his fifth year he has been made Prefect for Gryffindor House (despite a slight tendency to break the rules) as well as Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, for which he plays as a Chaser.
Extracurricular Activities: James is Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and a chaser for the team. He is also involved in Ancient Studies, Earth Magic, and Ghoul Studies.
As all Slytherins' she is highly ambitious and enjoys the feeling of success. Has an inherent feeling of superiority to others founded on her own abilities. Naturally this also translates to highly competitive feelings aimed towards those she perceives as her equals and (very rarely) her superiors. Respects the diligent and goal-oriented, and is willing to cooperate with those that can keep up with her.
βπ¦π°π±π¬π―πΆ: The only child of purebloods Felix Macbain and Esme Graham, she naturally has a long and rich family history, both literally and figuratively. Born into affluence and more than just a little blue-blood in her veins, she was raised with high expectations - her father being the Head of Magical Law Enforcement (considered an outstanding feat, given his stereotypical Slytherin background in the wake of Voldemorts' reign of terror), and her mother being well-known for her ironfisted control of magical real-estate in Scotland and her production of magical apparel, the most popular of which are her series of invisibility cloaks.
Her family background being what it is, many people had high hopes for what she could accomplish. Where most children would have been cowed by the sheer magnitude of their expectation, Elspeth responded with eagerness. With a drive bordering on near obsession, she started studying magic long before she was allowed to hold a wand. Such was her zeal that even her parents found it disconcerting.
When her time to enroll at Hogwarts came, she threw her all into her studies, consistently enjoying top marks and rarely conceding her place at top 3 of her year level. As a consequence, her social circle is abysmally small, something which she intends to rectify in the coming year, however with her O.W.L's coming up, there is doubt of her situation changing any time soon.
Intends to achieve all 12 O.W.L's to make a case for her being Head Girl by her 7th year, though she has no interest in pursuing all of them.
Appearance: Elliot has a mop of messy, thick, dirty blonde hair that is slightly brushed to the side. He has an easy smile and hazel eyes. People usually consider him to be good looking but his nose is quite big and his ears stick out but luckily enough his hair covers the later. Over the past year Elliot has been hit with a massive growth spurt going from one of the smallest people in his year to one of the tallest standing at 5 foot 11 and is continuing to grow. He has a slightly muscular body type.
When not wearing his school uniform Elliot usually wears black skinny jeans with black boots and any t shirt he can grab. If heβs out heβll usually be seen in a brown leather coat or a olive green hoody or a hoody in the scarlet and gold of Gryffindor.
Personality: Over the past two years Elliot has started to become an outgoing person who usually is quick to laugh and smile. In his first two years being at Hogwarts he was quite shy and kept to himself but has started to come out of his shell more. A lot of the time Elliot doesnβt really take many things seriously holding him back from his full potential. The only thing he does take seriously though is sports, he managed to get into the Gryffindor quidditch team in his third year becoming the seeker. Elliot changes his favourite hobby often getting bored rather quick. This makes him say yes to trying new things all the time. Usually if someone tries to speak to him about something serious he will probably respond with a sarcastic remark. It takes a lot to actually get Elliot angry. He likes to surround himself with people he trusts completely taking him quite a while to actually befriend someone. If Elliot finds himself alone, he usually like to go for walks in the area surrounding Hogwarts and read books on history.
History: Elliot has always lived his life in the north of England, growing up in a town outside of Manchester. His Father who was a muggle from London went to Manchester for a job and on a chance encounter met Elliot's mother who was a wizard who was fascinated with muggles. He decided to stay with her even after finding out her secret and the two got married having one child, Elliot.
Elliot started showing signs of magic at a very early age, which made his Mum really happy knowing that he would be going to Hogwarts. Elliot received his acceptance letter, with his Mother not pressuring him to be an amazing wizard and just to enjoy himself, which made Elliot a lot more relaxed. His Mother took him to Diagon Alley the day before he headed off to Hogwarts. This was his first experience of the wizarding world and straight away he was captivated by it. During his first year Elliot excelled in most of the classes. Around the age of 13 when he became a member of the quidditch team, his grades started to slip slightly as he didnβt try hard in them. He maintains average to good grades going into his fifth year.
Extracurricular Activities: Gryffindor seeker.
Other: Elliot's wand is 13 inches long made out of hawthorn wood that is in a neat spiral with just a plain handle. The core was made out of a dragon heartstring.
Interested. Although, would it be an option to play something other than a 5th year? A 2nd or 3rd year? Or is it for sure we're all going to be 5th years?
I'm pretty sure we are set on 5th years. Although later down the line, if the RP survives and is still active I don't see why we wouldn't incorporate younger students into the fray. But until then 5th years.
@TheHangedMan@Sedjwick@josephb Accepted all of you, although i'm about to update the CS sheet and add just a little more things to it just for little information if needed. Update them, the throw them in the characters tab.
If any of you don't care to read the post before this because you weren't mentioned in it. I updated the CS a little bit to give it more depth, as I just BS'd it first go around and just threw it together. If there is anything you want to see added, or have any ideas for anything feel free to express them!
With that being said, when we have a few more Character Sheets in I'll type up the first IC post and we can get rolling. Also will be adding much more to the OOC tab and character tab (Notable NPCs, Faculty members, etc.) in the near future as it's pretty barebones at the moment.
Thank you all for showing interest! and if there is anyone popping in and thinking about joining in, you can def hop on the train! the more the merrier!
Personality: very friendly and fun. Loves joking around and is very intelligent. She knows when to take things seriously but when itβs not sheβs usually joking around or trying out something fun or new. Is very open to trying new stuff. She has high energy. History: is a half blood and grew up in the watership down area of the UK. Every summer her family has spent traveling to different parts of the world. Her metamorphmagus abilities have been an great source of fun and mischief for her. In her first year at hogwarts the hat took just 1 minutes deciding her house before definitely deciding on Ravenclaw. Her friend she had had for her first four years moved to the U.S. she has an interest in magical creatures and likes the idea of riding a hippogriff. She is an excellent beater for Ravenclaw due to her high energy which it also provides an outlet for.
Extracurricular Activities: ravenclaw beater for quidditch. Dueling club.
Other: has a barn owl. Is a Metamorphmagus Wand: elm wood and unicorn hair 10 3/4 inches

Height: 5'11" 181.5 cm Weight: 150lbs 65kg Body Type: Slim yet wiry, toned but still growing. Eye Color: Blue/Gray Hair Color: Dark Brown, some random darker Blonde thrown in Skin Tone: Olive skin tone, tans quite well when exposed to the sun. Tattoos/Scars/Piercings: None. Personal Style: Tends to wear loose scarves despite the season, wears loose fitting dueling jerkins and breeches when he knows he will be fighting. Other than that he keeps to the standard Hogwarts uniform.
Sexuality: Homosexual Relationship Status: None Personality: When one first introduces themselves to Jaxon, the first thing they'll notice is how unsure the young man is about the whole situation. He's not a very big talker, and tends to be shy and hesitant in social situations. His eyes take everything in and hyper analyze before he says a word. It's a methodical process and one that the Ravenclaw uses as both a defense mechanism and a learning one. New situations scare him, and he has to find his place in them before he's comfortable. He's very observant and Intelligent and his everyday movements are a testament to that fact. Once you break through that mechanism though you will find a rather lonely young man who has been waiting for people to give him a chance. He's loyal, not to the zeal that Hufflepuff's have, but loyal nonetheless and once you're his friend he will have your back, through thick and thin. He's exceptionally adaptable as well, his skill at watching and absorbing his schoolmates interactions allowing him to handle simple conversations as if he was a pro, which is a stark contrast to his actual feelings on meeting new people. He holds this façade over his defensive analyzation as an extra layer of defense.
When not confronted by direct human contact, such as classroom settings, and the dueling ring his personality shifts to a more serious side. He lets his hubris show through with his arrogant stances and underestimation of his opponents. It's a serious flaw and one that he recognizes as a problem and as such is one he's actively working on fixing. He's also extremely verbose for no reason other than to show off, and takes pride in trapping his classmates in verbal traps or talking them in circles with long winded answers. He also doesn't admit that he's wrong unless one literally is holding a blade to his neck and is threatening to slice his throat. He thrives in chaotic situations as his mind works insanely quickly, and goes over data stored in his brain at a rapid fire pace. This is exceptionally powerful due to the fact that he boasts a photographic memory. He's also a very defensive person, preferring to exhaust his opponents into making a fatal mistake before ending the fight. He lacks power but more than makes up for that with his wit and his unique style which uses his opponents strengths against them.

History
Biography:
The House of Chaucer is an old one, a House that originated in England but left when the British Empire began sending groups to Australia. They were one of 8 pureblooded wizard families that settled upon the pacific island and have great prestige on the opposite side of the world. They are renowned for their supportive tendencies, be it mapmaking, diplomacy, defense, exploration, secretaries, or even magistrates. They have a history for being unbiased and the Ministry of Magic within Australia has had its fair share of Chaucers in the seat of Minister.
But while the family is prestigious it didn't start gaining global reputation until one Henry Chaucer, born in 1965. Henry as a child was extremely well behaved and was the perfect pureblood, but had such empathy as well for one so young. He started schooling in 1976 in Australia and received top marks throughout his career as a student. When he graduated in 1982 he was accepted into the Ministry and into the Foreign Affairs office. His first position? That of liaison to Great Britain itself. Henry was an instant favorite within the British Ministry and also made good allies with many of the Pureblooded Houses that called England home. One family in particular stood out, as Henry fell deeply in love with one of its members. One Isabella Hastings.
The House of Hastings originates in Wales, an old House and very spiritualistic. It was founded after General Maximus left Britain in a bid for Imperial power and left his father in law in control of the provinces. Many Welsh tribes formed and House Hastings was formed as stewards and servants for the most powerful. They became advisors, shamans, generals, attendants, and the House flourished. As the world changed House Hastings did not, continuing to serve the ruler of Wales which soon enough as the English King. They are well known in the wizarding world as master Charms masters and spellseers, understanding magic on a deep and spiritual level. They have a bond with magic, a pact that has been passed down from the early shamanistic rituals to the current modernization of the Ministry. They are a fierce vote within the Wizengamot and control a powerful Party to themselves that is dedicated to archiving wizarding history, and respecting magic as a whole.
The Wizarding wars showed that House Hastings was not pacifists however as many of their number served as Aurors and unspeakables. They were fiercly patriotic and formed a safe zone around the mansion of the Hastings family for wizards and witches of Wales to hide out and be safe. Recently the House has had fame thanks to Isabella Hastings, a Hogwarts graduate who became a Quidditch professional in the Welsh premiere league. Isabella was a Hufflepuff while in school and was an extremely gifted student, she received top marks in her OWLS, and NEWTS and could have had any job she desired, as such she worked a part time job as undersecretary for the Department of International Magical Cooperation, which is where she met Henry Chaucer of Australia and fell in love.
Jaxon was born in 1990, fifteen minutes before his twin Jacob, and even then was enraptured with the world around him. He was raised in Wales, inside the Hastings Mansion which was located deep in the dense forests and was surrounded by ancient magic. The Hastings family took over his and Jacob's tutoring in the younger years, helping their parents raise them and engraining the Hastings family's beliefs, of respecting magic and nature, into them. The twins were good students, and soaked in the knowledge even if Jaxon seemed to understand things a bit easier. It was found the boy had a photographic memory during a lesson in Charms when Jax could recite the entirety of the Hogwarts First Years spell list.
The twins lives happily, stress free and enjoying life until the second Wizarding War came to them. Jaxon was seven at the time and the year was 1997, Voldemort had heard of the Hastings family's resistance and protection of Welsh Wizards and desired to send a message. He infiltrated the Hasting's mansion with his followers and ambushed Jaxon and his brother Jacob as they were returning to the mansion from the forest. Both were heavily wounded and traumatized from the event, but were saved from death. The family moved in its entirety to Australia and to the Chaucer estate where they begun the slow process of healing. Quidditch was Jaxon's healing technique and he poured his time into the air with his Mother, who had taken a break from the professional scene while the war waged. For an entire year the twins recovered from their wounds and breathed easy when word of Voldemort's defeat came a year later.
Henry and Isabella, the twins parents left the children in Australia while they returned to the British ministry and left them in the care of the Chaucer's. At this point the family had grown, Jaxon and Jacob were now 8, while their younger brother Hudson was 4, and a second set of twins Lachlan and Zara were 2. Jax was given new tutors and taught of the Chaucer side of his family and all of its history. He flourished with his studies but spent much of his time flying. He had became a much quieter boy after the attack, and flinched at the slightest startle. His brother Jacob was even worse off and had to continue therapy to even function. They both lost sleep and couldn't stand being apart from each other for even a few minutes.
It took two years to finally break them of this, two years to heal to a live able situation and now armed with the knowledge of both sides of their families the twins were moved back to England, to a new Manse being built in the Welsh country. His father took over as the Department leader of International Magical Cooperation and his Mother returned to Professional Quidditch. Things began to look up for the twins and the following year they were both accepted into Hogwarts. It was a time of pure delight and the previous darkness seemed to be being put behind them, even if some of the healing needed to still be done. Sorting for the twins was an interesting affair, Jaxon was placed in Ravenclaw almost instantly but his twin was a hat stall. For fifteen minutes the hat deliberated before finally yelling out Hufflepuff. It was the first time the twins would be separated in a living environment and hey struggled at the beginning.
Jaxon lost a lot of sleep, though kept up with his schoolwork thanks to his tutoring and mind. He also couldn't really release any stress since he wasn't allowed to fly as a first year. As such he instead turned to Dueling, and threw himself into learning combative magic. He was determined never to be a victim again and spent tons of his time and his sleepless nights studying spells and improving his stances. His schoolwork was robotic and lacked any emotion, but it was good and he achieved top marks in all classes at the end of the year. The second year was much better for the twins as both had started getting accustomed to life without the other. Jacob flourished in Hufflepuff and had many friends while Jaxon simply had study mates but tempered his lack of 'friends' with Dueling and Quidditch. He was accepted as a Substitute Chaser on the Ravenclaw team but performed so well in practices and had such drive he was moved to starter. He employed his strategies with the Captain and helped come up with many team plays. In school he had begun to improve from robot into actual student in some lessons but still put it as a backdrop to his Dueling and Quidditch play.
Third year and Fourth Year were both simply rapid fire routines of the second. Jaxon was an extremely accomplished student duelist at this time and his flying improved drastically as he grew up. He was the Co-captain in his Fourth Year and was the go to strategist for the team. He had been targeted by the other teams a few times but his skill with defensive Charms usually led to the attackers being served detention and himself getting a pass as he never attacked back. He spent all of his free time in the library to keep up his high grades and had a triumvirate of expectations for the two years. First was Dueling, second was Quidditch, and third were his classes of which he had added Arithmancy, and Ancient Runes. Friends were a low totem pole item and he continued to simply exist in the castle.
Going into the Fifth Year his parents have requested that he actually try and become social as they were worried about their son whom still wasn't fully healed like his twin from the childhood trauma they received. Jacob had become a social butterfly and a heartbreaker around the Castle while Jaxon was the one nobody really seemed to want to approach. Jax promised his parents he would try and reorganized his lists a bit. He would put friends up in the same category as his others so he could continue focusing on what he loved while hopefully finding people that also loved them.
Dreams and Goals: He wants to become a Spellcrafter and Auror, or a Quidditch Pro.
