Just writing the OP. Decided the last one wasn't to my tastes. Aside from that everything else is done. Been a little sick as well so I've taken a couple days to just rest and catch up elsewhere for a moment.
Well I thank you folk for being patient as you have been. To highlight exactly what illness it is that is getting in the way it has to do with my breathing. It more or less leaves me exhausted so I haven't been able to do a whole lot especially at the moment. I'm scheduled to see a doctor soon, but I apologize for the massive delays. Body is just really not working with me as much as I'd like. Thoughts aren't as fluid as I'd like and while I'm still making attempts to post, I know it's been harder to think on creative things with this whole breathing thing occupying space in my mind.
If I get the energy and thought to I'll continue working on the OP but hopefully we can get started around the time I see the doctor. If you'd question why not a hospital, I'd like to point out that the United States is not exactly the beacon for healthcare even with insurance.
I've seen the doctor and have gotten some treatment so I'm back to work on the thread. I once again apologize for the long delay and especially for the lack of communication, but I'm able now.
The purpose of the gadget is to greatly reduce the effectiveness of explosives to the operator during engagements. Due to its portable nature it isn't as durable as a dedicated suit and can prevent one fatal explosive charge before being rendered null to the regions affected. Due to its added weight it will slow down the operators who wear this equipment by one speed rank but provide additional ballistic protection. However, due to its design, shots to the protective areas will destroy the gadget with enough damage.
Induction to Rainbow Seven
Apollo is the middle child of seven children within the Hernandez family. He was a happy and proud member of the Coast Guard that loved spending time with his younger brother Hermes until tragedy stuck in Houston where the White Masks launched a surprise attack on the city. The brothers, abandoning their usual Thursday ice cream, took the bold route of engaging the terrorist threat from the flank and chasing the threat into an academic facility. Although, together, they accumulated a score of twelve terrorists it all came to a head when Hermes ran headfirst into a nitro cell trap placed underneath one of the desks used to block the brothers' entrance.
Although Apollo had warned Hermes to wait for reinforcements before pursuing them further, the guilt of not stopping Hermes was overwhelming as more and more of the building came crashing down with explosives breaking apart more and more of the college. It was said that after brutally gunning down the responsible terrorist he knelt and held his brother while being surrounded by debris with tears flowing until the explosives stopped. Apollo was led out by an emergency team an hour later, found holding his brother with tears dried. He was silent, body coated in dust and debris, clutching the air for the body the team had taken from him.
While Seven was collecting data on the attack in Houston, he came across the story of the brothers though military records as their account was barred from publiciation for their privacy. Seeing potential in Apollo, Seven visited the military hospital on a thursday where he found the man eating lime sherbert by himself. Across from his own cup was a melting cup of orange sherbert. Quiet tears of anger and guilt pouring from the man's face as he managed to refrain from crushing his own cup despite showing an emotionally distressed exterior led Seven to his own reinforcement that this man was perfect for recruitment. After speaking with the Admiral and, very briefly, shutting down the Admiral's resistance, Apollo was released from the hospital after recovery and was flown to Nevada where training began in a private facility owned by team Rainbow.
Although he was never told what the facility was for initially, when he was given the offer to join the Rainbow program after its explaination he accepted without hesitation. When Rainbow asked him what kind of project he would like to hand off to R&D he immediately came up with the idea for PEOD and worked hands on with the team to match the specifications desired.
Apollo's parents loved mythology so much they changed their names from Juan and Marie to Odin and Frigg. They would later use their love for mythology as inpiration.
Apollo's favorite ice cream is lime sherbert. Every thursday he purchases orange sherbert with his own for his brother.
This is the OP that I have ready. I'd like to answer whatever questions you have here or if you think everything is fine I can just go ahead and start up the thread. This version isn't formatted though so be wary of that.
Somewhere in a S.A.S. Facility. 0600 Hours.
There was a long flight for some of them, maybe even a bit of a drive with a banter ridden driver spitting back and forth with an operator. One thing was for sure though, this would be the first time these operators were to meet as a team. Formally they might have met and maybe on assignments together in one way or another, but today they were meeting with the S.A.S. Operators from Rainbow Six and their captain.
He was a young man for sure, but he had been a part of the program among other operators. Twenty and four years of age, fully uniformed with gear set and ready. Strapped upon his body was his flak armor attachments. Each piece slid on and tightened with curves designed to redirect some of the explosive with a hard outside to reduce the effectiveness of fragmented death.
"Apollo Hernandez. You don't look like a bloody god to me."
"No sir."
"And you've been put to task with this lot?"
"It's what the captain and Seven wanted, sir."
"Bloody hell. I know he sees something in ya, but for fucks sakes you lot could use a real mentor."
Apollo closed his eyes for a moment, breathing in and exhaling before prying his eyes open. "I think you're aware of what I endured, sir. I want to be here. I've served in disasters. What happened in Houston..."
"I know. Don't let this go all to cock."
"Sir?"
"Nothing. Your mates are here. Go on, give a good show."
As Thatcher moved back to join Smoke, Apollo took his place upon the stage. He took a deep breath. His eyes tracked the recruited Rainbow Seven operators. The Hispanic saw lives with potential. He saw brave men willing to put themselves in danger's way to save the lives of the innocent. Willing to protect vital assets, and trained to be the best. He had no doubt in his mind that if he wasn't here leading this meeting, Hermes would. Rainbow Seven was an experiment, for sure, but without any doubt it was an experiment that would allow team Rainbow to respond to a specific division as well as emergencies as they occurred.
Apollo waited for the group to be seated to begin. A quiet inhale giving him the energy to begin.
"Good morning, gentlemen. My name is Apollo Hernandez. Operator callsign: Flak. I'm sure you know why we're all here. From every corner of the world we look for the best. We look for men and women capable of assessing situations and reacting appropriately. You all bring your own unique talents to our team. I am joined today by two operators from our sibling branch Rainbow Six. Even I was unaware of their existence until recently. I'm sure for those of you who might be fortunate, or perhaps unfortunate, enough to know them you know what they are capable of on a base level. They've served in many flawless operations and are considered some of the best within Rainbow Six. I tell you this to let you know that you are under the supervision of the best. We would accept nothing less and are humbled to be graced with their presence." He had turned briefly to
"I've said plenty already, so I think now is a fine time to introduce yourselves and I encourage it as I want you to consider Rainbow Seven as your new family. You will, of course, be allowed to go home when the all clear is given. So, please, give your callsign and whatever you'd like to tell us from left to right. You don't have to give your name as I have done."
Here’s a CS from another R6 RP I was in. I’ll add/change whatever is in your CS that isn’t in this when I get a chance:
Name Robert Cadogan
Operator Alias Ghost
Age 31
Gender Male
Nationality Welsh / British
Birth-date / Location 2nd November / Cardiff
Special Forces Group Special Reconnaissance Regiment
Appearance
Standing at 6'1" with a fairly muscular frame Sully is a fairly imposing figure. He has pale blue eyes, mid-length black hair and a short beard. He likes to wear a suit in his private life, finding them comfortable. In urban operations he tends to wear dark camouflage fatiques but will adjust to fit the environment he is in.
Ghost is the kind of person who asks no questions when a friend needs help, running to their aid as soon as he possibly can. This applies in day to day life and on the battlefield. There have been instances in his service history where he has thrown caution to the wind to try and retrieve wounded comrades. It is not that he doesn't care for his safety, he just truly believes in the brothers in arms mentality. He builds strong attachments to those he regularly serves with viewing them as brothers and sisters.
He has a switch in his brain that allows him to instantly go from Joe public to special forces operator in an instant. This has been shown throughout his career, particularly during the terrorist incident in London when he was off duty. He went from enjoying a meal with friends to taking down two of the terrorists in the space of ten seconds.
In terms of trauma as a result of his time in service, he doesn't suffer flashbacks or suffer any form of night terrors. The only real smudge on his profile is that he still doesn't forgive himself for the death of Sergeant Hicks during his first deployment. He can occassionally get emotional about it when he is watching a particularly emotional war film or when heavily inebriated.
Using wireless hacking hardware and an advanced AI, Ghost is able to automatically hack directly into enemy cameras and drones. Any camera or drone not registed on the R6 equipment network within a ten metre radius will cease to work providing nothing but static in both visuals and audio. Once outside of range, the cameras and drones will work as normal once more.
Biography From a young age Rob wanted to carry on the family tradition of joining the Paras. His grandfather, father, uncle and older brother had all be part of the regiment and he wanted to continue that on. The military had always been a big part of his life from a young age as his family followed his father around the world through various deployments. Some time in Germany and Canada was followed by domestic life in their home village of Ynysddu. During that time his father was serving oversea in the war on Terror and was unfortunately killed by an IED. The years that followed were difficult, particularly for Rob's mother as they all tried to deal with the death of his father. This did nothing but harden Robert's resolve to become a soldier in Her Majesty's Armed Forces.
At the age of eighteen Rob was accepted into the Parachute Regiment following in the footsteps of the the men in his family. It wasn't until his second year in the regiment that he saw combat. He and his platoon were sent to the Middle East to fight against the continued threat of militants and had some great successes against them. Unfortunately it was during this time something happened to Rob that he still carries with him. While on patrol his squad were ambushed by a significantly larger force of militants and initial spray of bullets he caught a bullet to the leg. He was left in a small ditch that did nothing to hide his position from the approaching militants. His sergeant, Michael Hicks ran across the open terrain under heavy cover fire provided by the rest of their squad. With a few metres to cover Hick took a bullet to the rib but he pushed on until the pair were in cover. He collapsed to the floor moments later and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Rob blames himself for the death of Sergeant Hicks and will not be told otherwise. He spoke at his funeral and promised to show the same bravery and courage to save his fellow soldiers in the future.
After his recovery was finished he returned to active duty a different soldier. He was steeled and determined, fighting the enemy with a ruthless efficiency that eventually caught the notice of one of the British special forces regiments, the Special Reconnaissance Regiment. He undertook their training and was eventually given the emerald grey beret assosciated with the regiment. In the years that followed he was sent around the world on undercover operations, dealing with terrorist organisations of different backgrounds. His regiment saw to the capture of several high profile Islamist militant group leaders as well the destruction of a well known South American drug cartel. Beyond his accomplishments in the field, he developed skills in electronics and computers. He had a natural talent for these fields and used them to assist in missions throughout his career.
During some downtime in the British capital during a warm summer day, Rob was with some friends enjoying a meal outside on Oxford Street when a van was driven into a nearby restaurent. Seeing the event unfold he picked up his steak knife from the table and rushed across the street. He waited several moments, expecting the van to explode but it never came. From the van emerged three men wielding large kitchen knives who began to charge any civilian they could see. By time he closed the gap to the nearest attacker he saw a young woman drop to the floor lifeless. Catching the man by surprise Rob gripped the man by the neck and stabbed him three times in the heart before leaving him to hit the floor dead.
He picked up his knife and made towards the next attacker who was chasing an older gentleman towards him. As the older man passed, Rob took a stand and began to avoid the incoming knife thrusts of the attacker. He deflected the attackers arm on his third flailing thrust, leaving the terrorist open. Rob drove his knife straight into the mans throat, tugging hard to the side to cause as much damage as he could. The man dropped his own knife, clutching at his throat with blood filled gargles as he bled out on the floor.
Looking for the third man Rob spotted him trying to get to to a nearby restaurent. The now lone attacker was soon dodging chairs and tables as the guests at the restaunt began to throw whatever the could at him. From the other side of the road the same was happening and then with an almight thud someone connected with a brick to the side of the mans head, knocking him unconscious. With knife still in hand Rob sprinted over to him and restrained him as the sounds of sirens filled the air.
A further few years serving with the Special Reconnaissance Regiment went by without issue, that was until Rainbow reactivated. He was called to his regimental HQ in Hereford that is shared with the Special Air Service and was personally greeted by Mark "Mute" Chandar. Mark had read through the profiles of all currently serving SAS, SBS and SRR operators and was granted permission by Rainbow to personally handpick a group to take part in selection. One of these people was Rob.

Viking is the kind of person that does not give a shit if you have been friends for more than 10 years if you say something that he doesn't enjoy or go against the chain of command you are done, he doesn't mess around. His mind is one of the strangest things I have ever seen, he can go from sitting and talking to his friends to a deadly hunter in 0.2 seconds.
I wouldn't say that he's completely mentally fine but he's definitely not dangerous to the public in any way.
When Viking is shot at he gets an extreme adrenaline boost making him feel no pain making it hard to strike him down. After the adrenaline runs out he feels all of the pain at the same time usually making him blackout as both the pain and the energy used to go into this state of berzerk comes to bite him in the ass. This ability makes him a very good first man in the door but he should never hold a position alone as when he blacks out he's gonna need someone to get him to wake up and patch him up.
Biography Alex always wanted to follow in the steps of his father by joining Piket polisen (Swedish SWAT). His father was a sergeant in Piket Polisen and his grandfather used to be a Lieutenant for Piket polisen.
At the age of 15, he joined the Swedish cadet force and reached the rank of Cadet captain by the age of 17.
When he turned 18 he got drafted by the Swedish army where he went through boot camp with flying colours. In boot camp, he got both marksman certification and medic certification after the boot camp he decided to get the squad leader certification meaning he had to stay for an extra 3 months. When he got his own squad he decided to signup his squad for deployment in Mali where after their medic was shot in the head 3 people from his squad decided to go AWOL while they were walking away from their post and putting the rest of the 15 man squad in danger by letting the enemy see them Alex decided to shoot the 3 of them in the legs so that they couldn't get away, this was later expunged from the record and the families of the soldier were payed a respectable amount of money to sign an NDA.
At 25 he was recruited into speciella operations Gruppen (SOG) where he got deployed to [DATA EXPUNGED] where he and his squad's mission was to [DATA EXPUNGED]
At the same time, he joined SOG his higherups decided to sign all of SOG up to work for piket polisen aswell.

Date of Birth/Place 8th April/Shenyang, Liaoning Province
Special Forces Group People's Armed Police Force
Appearance
Ganzheng is not a particularly imposing individual, standing at roughly 1.78 meters tall and weighing in at 68 kilograms. His slim frame belies the strength in his sinewy muscles, and in combat he is more than able of holding his own. His brown eyes are set into a serious face that is almost eerily stone-like, as if he were truly unable of emoting.
In combat, he chooses to wear the equipment that he is most comfortable with, which would either be the standard camouoflage of the PAPF, or an all-black kit. Outside of combat, he would still choose to wear off-duty fatigues or just a t-shirt with his combat pants and boots.
Profile 'Silk hiding steel' is a phrase most often used to describe the quintessential aristocratic lady of Imperial China. She would be well-versed in etiquette, soft-spoken, and carry herself with a air of grace and elegence. However, should anyone threaten the safety of her person or that of her family, then she would quickly prove them wrong with a clear, sharp mind and an almost ruthless determination to deal with the threat.
Although Ganzheng - a young man hailing from one of China's north-eastern provinces - is perhaps the farthest thing from an ancient Chinese noblewoman, the phrase still fits him rather aptly. On the surface, he displays a rather gentle disposition; always willing to use soft approaches as a first resort, unfailingly polite, and generally a man of a few words.
However, should push come to shove, or should all other efforts be found wanting, Ganzheng has no qualms about resorting to using tough and oftentimes violent methods to achieve victory. Dedicated to both his team mates and his profession, he sees no difference between operational failure and personal failure; the former can only be the result of the latter, as far as he is concerned. As such, in missions, he is a very focused individual, and cares little for accolades or personal glory. He is simply there to get the job done as efficiently as possible.
Ability: Que'qiao (Lit. Magpie Bridge) The Que'qiao Intelligence Gathering Device consists of two main components: A central networking and data collection device called Qiao (Bridge), and five miniature, semi-autonomous drones known as Que (Magpies). The Magpies are, despite their name, not aerial drones. Rather, they are spherical objects measuring approximately two inches in diameter. A central ring housing a camera is sandwiched on both sides by free-rotating hemispheres, which provides propulsion. An inertial propulsion system allows the Magpies to 'jump' over small obstacles and to ascend steps.
Utilising cloud-computing and hive-mind networking technology, the Magpies are able to draw on the Bridge's computational power to bypass most security systems, allowing either the operator to take control of remotely-controlled devices, or for the Magpie to begin data mining and extraction operations. Fitted with a camera and microphone, the Magpies are also capable of carrying out usual surveillance duties. The movements of the Magpies are coordinated by a rudimentary AI onboard the Bridge, thus allowing for minimal operator input in control and deployment; the operator needs only to send the Magpies off on their initial path, and the Bridge would automatically prevent them from getting too close to one another to prevent detection and to maximise efficiency.
Biography Ganzheng grew up in a military family. Starting from his great-grandfather, who had fought in the Boxer Rebellion of 1911, and then took part in the Xinhai Revolution later that same year. His grandfather and granduncles fought as communist insurgents in the North-east of China during the Second World War, and then carried on to serve in the People's Volunteer Army during the Korean War. His father only barely missed taking part in the Sino-Vietnamese war, but did serve in the army during the tumultuous 1980s.
As such, Ganzheng had always known that he would end up serving his country in one way or another. The only difference was that instead of joining the People's Liberation Army, his path took him to the People's Armed Police Force. The PLA, while a respectable force in Ganzheng's eyes, seemed far too hands-off to him; they guarded the frontiers, went on maneuvers, but Ganzheng wanted something more active and more direct when it came to serving the people. He wanted to be there whenever and wherever the people needed him.
Thus, Ganzheng joined his local police department at the age of eighteen. As a patrol cop, he displayed a knack for reading people. He could quite accurately determine whether or not suspects were lying to him based on their expressions, gestures, and manner of speaking. This skill was further developed when his superiors sent him for further training to become an interrogator. However, Ganzheng chose to apply for the Special Police Unit soon after the completion of his course.
With the Special Police Unit, he introduced some rather questionable methods into his set of interrogation tactics. Of course, there were strict regulations on physical means, but as far as Ganzheng was concerned, the PAPF were rather vague when it came to things relating to the psychological. Regardless, he became rather well-known for his ability to extract the truth from suspects. His callsign, 'Er'lang', reflect this; in Chinese mythology, Er'lang is the god bearing the third, truth-seeking eye.
Ganzheng's performance as part of the Special Police Unit impressed his superiors enough that they sent him to Beijing to attend the selection course for the elite Snow Leopard Commando Unit. Though Ganzheng was byno means an exemplary applicant, he did pass selection with above average results. His first year with the SLCU was rather ordinary; he took part in drills, active operations, and generally did everything a trooper could expect to do. In his second year, however, he voluntarily attended courses on electronic warfare, which resulted in him developing the Que'qiao Intelligence Gathering Device over the course of two years.
With his rather specific skill-set, and his commitment to duty, his superiors chose him to represent the PAPF - and by extension, China - in the newly activated Rainbow Seven.

So how are people doing? I could go ahead and work on getting this thread running if we have this group to work with. Although I am waiting to see if a couple of people are going to turn up.
I could also provide a collaborative discord link once we get started rather than just making a whole one with a few people.
Here you go. I think the link I had wasn't set to perma but that should work. When you join talk to either Conscripts or Stuff to get validated for the chat.
