Bio: Bell was only ten years old during chaotic times between when the old world ended and The New World Order took form. The Mayans had been right. It was 2012, and a massive solar flair released an EMP that fried most technology on earth or top of massively speeding up the process of global warming. The sea rose, and as it rose the stars came down from the sky. UFOs, long shy, were suddenly abundant. They made attacks on most world capitals, but the bodies of world leaders pulled from that wreckage were not human but scaled and green reptillians. One by one all the "falsehoods" of the world, the crackpot theories and insane conspiracies, were revealed to be true in some form and connected in a great web that spanned all of civilization.
As things started getting pretty Revelations looking and people started literally going underground. Massive escape vessels designed to bore deep into the earth were unveiled by Greys and Reptillians sympathetic to humanity. Hundreds and thousands escaped into the earth. Of course, it turned out to be hollow.
Bell managed to be on one of them. She had lost her parents early on, and had spent months dodging death rays, bloodthirsty reptiles, pissed off angels, and far stranger to make it that far. As the chaos raged above she tried to make a life within the depths of the hollow earth. She was taken in by a kind group of reptiles. She started over.
Everyone did. It was decided early on, by no one in particular, that the old world had been largely an illusion. The only thing that mattered was living true and looking toward the future. The concept appealed to her. It was comforting.
She lived and learned as much as she could from her new family about what was really going on. As she grew up she started exploring, wanting to know everything she could about...everything. She explored the old ruins of this place, built by races that had existed far before humans. She asked as many questions as she could of everyone that came down here, human and cryptid. To keep in shape she ran with dinosaurs, and meditated daily in hopes of opening her third eye.
When she was Fifteen she applied to and was accepted into the Illuminates Initiative, and group of like minded explorers and scholars dedicate to cataloging all they could of what had been commonly called The New World Order. Their stated goal was to seek out everything that had been considered a myth before the reordering. By that time the chaos of the surface had subsided and it was safe to sail out onto the surface through the entrances near what used to be the ice caps.
She did this for two years, her speciality being finding and documenting cryptids. It was during a typical expedition, hunting alone for the mysterious hodag, that she came across a cryptic that had never been described before. At first she thought they were shadow people, but then shadow people didn't have yellow eyes like that. She didn't have a chance to observe them long before they attacked. Bell defended herself as best she could, but the little monsters were many and intelligent. It was when all seemed lost when she suddenly materialized a key in her right hand. Understanding that weird phenomenon like that must mean something she attacked with it, and drove the creatures off without managing to capture one.
When she returned to report she found that Illumenates had already been contacted by new aliens, these ones called moogles, and that the shadow cryptids had already been sighted in many places across the world. What the moogles were offering was answers and training in how to use the weapon she now had, and it was her duty to take whatever knowlage they had to offer for the sake of the new world.
Age: 17
Skills: While able to use the keyblade she found herself with she didn't have much time to train with it before to moogles whisked her off to Renovation. She's much more comfortable using the Carbon-Lasso she wears on her hip. She is a journeyman combat psychic, helping her to manipulate the lasso in addition to enhancimg her physical abilities by cloaking herself in a psychic shroud.
On a more mundane level she is an experianced tracker, survivalist, and animal handler. She always has her small tracking raptor, Snopes, at her side.
Personality: Confident, and preferring to work alone. Studious, and always taking notes and nerding out over new creatures she finds. Won't ever kill an animal if she can absolutely help it. Like most people of her world she is inherently wary of truths that are accepted as universal, and if a proponent of full transparency from her leaders and the rest of the people she's working with. Goes both way, and is completely transparent to her allies.
World Sheet
Name: New Word Order
Summary of History: Imagine any random conspiracy theory or occult tidbit or urban legend. In this world there's a good chance it was true, and it was all unmasked in 2012 when the old world ended.
Humanity now lives primarily on the continents of the hollow earth, along with many sympathetic reptilian, "alien," and cryptid races.
Important Nations (Great Powers, etc.): The surface is mostly flooded due to the ice caps melting, dotted with islands, although unstable tectonic activity due to the solar flare did raise both Atlantis and the legendary lost continent of Mu from the bottom of the ocean as the primary surface continents. Mu is occupied by small human kingdoms and a hostile reptilian empire, though the war had sapped them of most of their technological advantages and now both races are reduced to scavenging ancient Mu technology in a sort of archeological cold war. The most notable human Kingdom is Neo-Camelot, which was founded by King Arthur after he returned in Britain's hour of need. Many of the other kingdoms are ruled by other rulers who were prophesied to return as such.
Atlantis has been occupied by Archons and their chosen people, who are trying their best to do the 1000 year kingdom without the demiurge around to rule it. Mostly isolationist and theocratic, with the occasional angelic mission being sent out to heal the sick and try to convert followers. Probably the safest place to live.
Inside the Earth is where most humans live alongside an eclectic assortment of aliens (mostly Greys), reptillians, and cryptids. This coallition exists primarily on the largest of three continents that exists in the hollow earth, Elysium, and are led by an elected council that speaks for each major settlement. The other two continents, Asphodel and Tartarus, are largely given over to wildlife and the ruins of the greater reptilian civilization that used to exists down there.
It is believed that the moon is also hollow, and is where many of the other alien races disappeared too. The occasional UFO is spotted, but beyond that it is unknown what they're doing up there.
Overall Technology Level: Eclectic. The world is still in the process of rebuilding itself while coming to terms with the new truths they've been faced with. Super advanced technology, both recently developed and excavated from the numerous wrecks and ruins of the world, shares space with swords, bows, and water wheels. Even in the height of civilization brown outs are common due to limited energy to spare, mostly pulled from converted Unidentified Submergened Object engines. A working flying saucer is a rare and valuable resource.
While traditional medicine is still practiced where it is able, many medical emergencies are now handled using herbs and the laying on of hands. While every human being has the potential to be a paychic, opening the third eye requires determination and a clarity of purpose that most simply do not possess. Thus, most that are capable go into the medical field.
A more or less second character to compliment my first. Letter should already have a good idea what my intentions are with this one.
Character Sheet Name: Ace DeLeon Appearance:
Bio: Born into what can only be described as modern peasantry, Ace grew up in a dirt poor family. Both his parents struggled to work multiple jobs each just to make ends meet, and Ace experienced first what it was like being part of the class that no one cares about. Poor and working class people often went ignored, the Global Police too focused on catching high profile criminals to pay much heed to their plight. One would think this would drive Ace into a life of crime, but they would be dead wrong. Rather than hate or resent Global Police, Ace instead resolved to change the organization from within. As soon as he was old enough, Ace enrolled at the academy and graduated with honors. Within the first couple of years he got promoted out of the standard beat and into the elite division. Here he was issued the first of his Magitek arsenal, the Arms Changer.
And then the name Lupin was suddenly thrust back into the spotlight after decades in obscurity. When the Mask Collection was stolen, the Global Police were first approached by a young man claiming to be the Lupin heir, but the higher ups turned him away. Karmic justice, many of them thought it was. But then a Phantom Thief claiming the name of Lupin began surfacing and suddenly the Global Police were once again interested in the case. Through it all, Ace maintained his own determination to perform his duty to best of his ability, still awaiting a chance to really shake things up within the Agency. He made sure he was assigned to the Lupin case, given his mission to find and arrest this new Phantom Thief. But the mystery didn't end there, shortly into his investigation, Ace found himself approached by stranger promising a lead on Lupin's whereabouts in exchange for his cooperation. Ace was suspicious, but had no leads of his own.
Age: 24 Skills: Ace has all the training of an elite officer of the Global Police, and just the right amount of grit determination to really push the limits of himself and his arsenal.
His most valuable tool is the Arms Changer, a magitek gauntlet capable of digitally storing other gear known as Pursuit Arms within it, so that with mere gestures and code phrases a number of weapons and even a tactical battle suit can be pulled from it to empower the wearer.
The battle suit itslef seems to combine leather and Kevlar, but also infused with synthetic magical elements to reinforce its protective qualities while simultaneously enhancing the wearer's own combat performance by about 50% of their human limits. The mask and visor are for protection from bright flashes, dust or sandstorms, or even some gas based attacks.
Ace's primary Pursuit Arms is a gunblade named the Hyperion. The Hyperion first appears to be a magitek gun capable of firing elementally augmented shots, but can unfold into a sword for melee strikes which can also be charged with magitek elements for augmented attacks.
Ace's second Pursuit Arms is the Grapple Chain, which at a glance seems to be a pair of handcuffs, however the chain is extendable and thus allows it to be used for whipping attacks or to cuff someone from a medium range and forcibly pull them in closer for a followup attack or to be cuffed fully. The weapon's only real weakness appears to be that it cannot resist a Keyblade's ability to unlock it.
Ace's third and arguably most powerful Pursuit Arms is the Megaflare Cannon, a handheld cannon weapon that - as its name implies - fires a powerful blast comparable to the Megaflare Spell.
Personality: If there's one word that perfectly encapsulates Ace DeLeon, then it would most certainly be "determination". Ace possesses a sheer grit determination that almost seems to border on superhuman. This can apply both in and out of battle. Out of battle, his determined personality tends to come across as stubborn to some, and admirable to others. Coupled with his unyielding resolve to do what is right, one would almost think Ace to be completely incorruptible. In battle, Ace's determination usually translates into dogged tenacity and a refusal to allow himself to be defeated or bested, especially by the very Thief he was assigned to capture. But make no mistake, that does not mean Ace suffers from complete tunnel vision. His own humble background affords him the luxury of knowing when the pursuit of his quarrel should be put aside, such as for the safety and protection of the general public for instance.
Second character, ran the idea by Bee already so submitting the app for final evaluation
Name: Zekaraya Yordan (Zecharaiah ben Yardan) Appearance: Zekaraya has dark brown skin, black eyes and hair twisted into long curls that hang down to his shoulders. His head is typically covered in a white cloth tied like a turban. He looks significantly younger than he really is, owing to the magitek infused into his body actively repairing damage both from injury and natural aging. Typical clothing for him is a simple white tunic that falls to about mid knee length, with a pair of loose fitting pants underneath. He is also typically wearing a dark gray cloak over his body as well. He does not immediately come off as too imposing due to the fact that his large height (6 feet) is offset by his very thin build. Bio: The story of Zekaraya actually predates his own birth, starting with the individual who would come to call himself Messiah. Following the fall of Israel by the hands of the Babylonians, it is said that a group of Israelites managed to escape with the sacred treasures of the temple to the land of Ethiopia, where it is said that the legendary King Solomon had left a child with their Queen, one named Menelik. Menelik and his new companions would go on to unite Ethiopia under his rule and found the Solomonic Dynasty, and when powerful enough, take Israel back. Over time, Israel would, in fact, rise again, but under the Hasmoneans, rather than the Solomonids. When the Hasmoneans attempted to made restored contact with the Jewish population of Ethiopia, they found that the Solomonids rejected their claims to legitimacy, seeing them as pretenders backed by Egypt, and the Negus of Ethiopia condemned the Hasmoneans, declaring that the Kingdom of Ethiopia's end goal would be to retake Israel and put the Godly mandated Davidic line, carried by Solomon's descendants in Ethiopia, on the throne. Thus did Judaism in Ethiopia and The Middle-East have their first Great Schism. Some few hundred years later, The Solomonids then carried out a purge of any tribes that they found were loyal to the Hasmonean supported Priesthood, forcing them to flee from the lands the controlled, sending them north-west into the Sahara. During one of these military campaigns, the Ethiopian forces attacked a Semitic tribe known as the Thamudites and forced them to leave. The leader of the assault was one of the Negus's sons, who engaged in the pillaging of the Thamudites lands after defeating them. The prince killed a soldier who had retreated to his home to defend his family, killing his wife as well and raping their daughter. When the Thamudites were forced to flee into the Sahara, the young girl was left pregnant with the prince's son, who would be born later when the tribe had settled into a permanent location. The boy was named Immanu'il bin Nasonyi, and was raised by his mother and her husband Nsonyi, a trader from the nearby Lunda Bantu tribe. Largely resented by his mother and father, he learned how to fend for himself early in his life. Immanu'il earned a living as a blacksmith later in life, and around the age of 22, he began to feel a strong calling towards religious studies, first studying under the Kahens of the Thamudites, but quickly forming dissenting ideas that caused him to cease studies, and devote himself to developing his own interpretations in quiet. During one of these studies, Immanu'il was visited by a mysterious figure, who claimed to be an agent of God and demonstrated himself to be a powerful mage, with knowledge of seemingly everything in their world. The figure told Immanu'il that he was, in fact, the Messiah of the Jewish people and that his true name was Emmanuel, and he was in fact born of the Davidic line by way of his true father, a prince of the Axumite Empire in Ethiopia. The figure then bestowed 'the power of miracles' upon Emmanuel by way of infusing his body with Magitek, turning him into a powerful mage, and telling him to seek out 'the ones who would stand at his left and his right" the "Son of Aaron" and the "Lion of Judah". Emmanuel would find the first after news of him reached across Africa of a Thamudite man claiming to be the Messiah. One of the travelers who came to see him was a Chorite (Hurrians who fled to the Sahara in ancient times) of Jewish descent named Kikkuli, who had also been undertaking independent studies, and believe the Messianic age was about to begin. Emmanuel displayed his power and Kikkuli accepted him as Messiah, informing Emmanuel of his own status as a Levite and a Kahen. Emmanuel then came to the conclusion that Kikkuli was his "Son of Aaron" and thus renamed him to Malachi, turning him into his personal advisor.
Once Emmanuel and Malachi had assembled a sizable following, the two took over the Thamudite tribe to remove any dissenters, and turn their attention outward. One of the groups that Emmanuel sought to bring into his fold was the powerful Tigranites, skilled warriors who would be useful in his conquest of Axum. Emmanuel and Malachi assembled an army and marched into Tigrinya territory. There, Emmanuel made a declaration that he had been declared the Messiah by an angel and that he offered the Tigrinites a chance to peacefully accept him and join his dominion, giving them 3 days to decide before he was forced to take them over militarily. It was at that time that Emmanuel was attacked by a 13-year-old boy who had stolen his father's spear and threw it at Emmanuel, though the spear was vaporized by a fire spell from him, the boy did not relent, attempting to drive out the whole of the army by himself. Emmanuel was impressed by the spirit of the Boy and ordered the soldiers to take him as a prisoner, for he felt that the boy was the "Lion of Judah" that the figure had prophesized to him long ago. In exchange for the Lion of Judah, Emmanuel granted the Tigrinites clemency if they refused, though they were so stunned by Emmanuel's displays of magic that they accept him as Messiah and agreed to give him military support. Emmanuel and Malachi would continue to gather tribes, taking their new aide, the boy named Zakaraya, along with them. Gradually, he became more powerful and more loyal to Emmanuel, eventually becoming the head of Emmanuel's entire army at 23, and lead the conquest of Axum, establishing a base for his eventual taking of Israel. After 10 years stabilizing the country, the triumvirate consolidated their power, with Malachi wedding his daughter, Deborah, to Emmanuel, and Zekaraya betrothing his 12-year old daughter, Faven, to be married to him as well when of a suitable age. Zekaraya was ready to take on the Hasmoneans and demanded that Emmanuel and Malachi order the army and Axum's allies to attack. However, Emmanuel refused, saying that he had been visited by the angel once again, informing him that soon he had sent out an enemy to destroy the enemies of God, beings called the Heartless, who would swarm across the land, and destroy all enemy realms, and that once the Persians and the Vandals had fallen to the Heartless, then it would be time to strike the Hasmoneans and retake Israel, whereupon Emmanuel, Malachi, and Zekaraya would be given eternal life and rule over New Jerusalem as the three Judges. However, Emmanuel had been informed that his enemies had summoned a powerful sorcerer, who wielded a blade like a key, who was residing in Egypt and would ruin everything if he was not killed. Thus, Emmanuel sent Zekaraya to go kill this sorcerer, the one named Hirutila Albareikssunus. Age: 33 Skills: Zekaraya is an extremely skilled swordsman, capable of taking down many enemies at once with little effort. He is extremely strong, both from his own power and from Magitek enhancements, capable of decapitating a horse in a single strike of his sword. Hardened by years of war, he is an excellent tactician, and capable of solving problems with great ease. In addition to his own military skill, Zekaraya was infused with Magitek by Emmanuel, and thus has a great capacity and skill with magic, able to cast high-level spells, and augment himself and his allies with magical defenses. His most notable skill is that of the Mystic Sword, in which Zekaraya enchants his sword with magical power, and unleashes a spell upon his enemy upon them being damaged by the sword, augmenting the already high danger of fighting him. Personality: Zekaraya is brash and impulsive, prone to fits of anger and rage, which often cloud his judgment. Often immature and emotionally stunted, he prefers to solve his problems through brute force and displays of magical power, though he can undertake more cerebral measures if he absolutely must. He is fanatically loyal to Emmanuel, who he believes sincerely to be the Messiah, and is utterly devoted to his cause, to the point he has the air of being rather brainwashed, possibly as he was indoctrinated into his cause at a young age. He will seek out and kill Hirutila and any other Keyblade wielders he finds by any means necessary.
Name: Shizuka Gozen Appearance: (Sorry for the large picture but it was the best I could find of her.)
Bio: Being the daughter of the first squad's captain was a tough life. She had everything she could have ever wanted. Everything except friends. She didn't want the type of life her father wanted for her. At 13, she ran away from home, beginning her new life as Otohiko, a boy who lived in the Rukon district. Despite only lasting for 3 years, she was able to stay hidden well enough that none of the soul reapers had a chance to realize "he" was the daughter of Captain Gozen of Squad One. She returned home after 3 years of hiding to find everything was exactly the way she had left it. When she confronted her father about it, he was stunned that she was still alive. She explained what she did and her reasoning behind it, only for her father to try getting more strict on her protection. She then challenged her father to a fight. Upon realizing she was actually being serious, he accepted her challenge. The fight was viewed by at least half his squad and lasted a few minutes before he beat her. However, he saw her in a new light. He lessened her rules and overprotection and let her begin actually training to join the Gotei 13. Age: 26 Skills: TBC Personality: TBC

Sorry to keep you waiting! Here's my CS in all of its glory:
Name: Asher Rain Appearance:
Bio: Asher was born into a time of great strife. The streets of Medieval London were teeming with vermin that would prey upon the weak, stealing precious belongings whenever someone couldn’t afford to pay the dues that came with protection from the Royal Guard. He was given his name in hopes that his family would be blessed with the highest form of prosperity imaginable, to raise them from the ashes of their meager lives bring salvation upon others. He worked hard as he grew, learning how to lead a proper life from his mother and father. In following the rules set to him by both his parents and the Royal Guard, he lived an average, yet happy life throughout his youth. However, that all changed upon the arrival of his 13th birthday. His father was a few gold pieces short of meeting the mark for the Royal Guard’s fee due to a sudden increase in the amount, the soldiers gave raised him hell for it by quite literally putting their homestead to the torch. This trial by fire nearly separated Asher from his parents, the wooden infrastructure of the building groaning as the wooden beams supporting the ceiling gave way, the ceiling on the cusp of collapsing. Before this could happen, a group of cloaked figures braved the flames, grabbing Asher, his parents and any belongings they deemed valuable to them and saving them from the clutches of death. The young Asher, his lungs filled with smoke, fell unconscious in the arms of his veiled saviour. Sometime later, the boy awoke, gasping for air as his body sputtered back to life. He sat up in the bed he had been placed in, and came face-to-face with the very same individual that had saved his life that day. She removed her hood, revealing amber-colored eyes, black hair, and a rather kind smile. She introduced herself as Bloody Mary, the leader of the Vigilant Shepherds. In exchange for keeping his parents safe, Asher trained under Mary, learning the ways of the rogue. From pickpocketing and smooth-talking to utilizing the tools of the trade such as lockpicks and throwing daggers, Asher spent the next 7 years perfecting the trade. During this period of time, a job he had undertaken led him to unlocking a hidden potential within him to wield the otherworldly weapon known as the keyblade. He would soon learn that he was the main line of defense against the new threat London faced in the form of the Heartless.
Age: 20
Skills: Aside from the usual song and dance arsenal equipped by traditional thieves, Asher has had extensive training in short-swords and archery. Thanks to his newfound weapon, his hidden potential for magic has been realized. While he certainly has the capability of being a jack of all trades with magic, he mainly prioritizes Aero-based skills, negative status spells, and transportation enhancements such as Haste and Warp due to his line of work. His keyblade even has the capability of transforming into a hearty bow that can fire arrows of light.
Weapon:
Personality: Given his upbringing, Asher is kind to those he considers worthy of his trust. Otherwise, his tongue can be as sharp as his blades, having a bluntness to him that has a tendency to rub people the wrong way. Coinciding with his namesake, he very heavily believes in the concept of luck, for there have been situations that without it, he feels that he may have not lived to see another day. He typically makes decisions based on the flip of a gold coin that he keeps on his person at all times. This coin has the wheel of fortune, the symbol of Fortuna, imprinted on the heads side, and a set of scales on the tails side.
World Sheet
Name: Medieval London Summary of History: A world where creatures and individuals believed to be only of myth are given life. As a result of this, when the Heartless first invaded, no one really payed them any mind. Of course, that all changed once their numbers grew, devouring the hearts of the townsfolk and Royal Guard alike. Upon the arrival of the moogles, the Royal Guard commissioned weapons that could keep this new scourge at bay. While the Vigilant Shepherds took a similar approach, they also upgraded themselves by dabbling in the ways of magic. Important Nations (Great Powers, etc.): The Royal Guard is the main line of authority in this world, acting as a protective wall for the royal family, and taking upon themselves to keep the townsfolk in check in pursuit of their own twisted justice. The underground organization known as the Vigilant Shepherds arose to aid the people of London. Led by this world’s Bloody Mary, this band of rogues does everything they can to protect the common folk and take any stab they can at the Royal Guard in the process. Overall Technology Level: Relatively low, with the exception of magic and items that can properly be enchanted. Map: N/A
Sorry about disappearing, the last week was crazy. If you'll still have me I've written up a character sheet. For full disclosure the initial idea for this world came from Harry Turtledove's Atlantis Trilogy, though I took the timeline in a much different direction than those books.
Name: Harris Dione
Appearance:
Bio: Harris was born the son of Frederick Dione, Governor of Hampton, a state on the northeast coast of the United States of Atlantis. Well liked by the people, Frederick was a populist, believing that all cultures should come together. It was through this lens that Harris was raised, always being told that all things should become one. As a child Harris would attend the Church of Unity, a vaguely Abrahamic religion that took pieces from other religions. Harris found that he could easily memorize the verses from their holy book, reciting them when he felt it was needed. The head priest at the local church suggested that Harris become a priest himself as he knew the text so well. Excited Harris told his parents about it. Frederick immediately struck the idea down, stating that Harris would follow after him and become a politician.
It was with this order that Harris entered his teenage years. He became less involved with the Church of Unity and spent a lot of his time reading anything he could, especially things that went against his worldview. Harris became increasingly rebellious, hanging around with the hoodlums in his town. It was with one other boy, named Gregory, that Harris became close. Together they questioned the perspectives of their parents. It was during one such conversation that Gregory kissed Harris. Harris was immediately confused, but kissed him back. However, Gregory’s father had seen the two and began to beat Gregory. Out of respect for Governor Dione he never told him of what his son had done. A week later Gregory’s family had moved to the west coast.
After that Harris became more withdrawn, burying himself in his studies. At the mandate of his father Harris began school at Essex College, the same school Frederick had attended. Harris also joined the Order of the Eagle, a private club of the elite of Atlantis. There he met Arthur, another young man forced into Essex College. Arthur was what was called a bohemian, an artistic outsider. Together he and Harris formed a niche in the Order of the Eagle, a gathering of freethinkers. They went against the prevalent idea in Atlantis of globalization.
After a year in college Harris and Arthur attended the World’s Fair. It was there that Harris realized he had feelings for Arthur. Not wishing to screw up his life like he did Gregory, Harris kept his feelings to himself. When they went back to school rumours of shadow creatures began to spread. Believing it to be old wives’ tales, Harris focused on his studies. Harris would soon learn that these creatures were all too real when a walk to the pub with Arthur was interrupted by Heartless. The dark beings surrounded them, leaving no way of escape. Both Harris and Arthur were intellectuals, not fighters, so the odds seemed grim. But in a moment of just wanting to save Arthur, a blade shaped like a key materialized in Harris’s hand. Acting on instinct Harris fought back the Heartless. After the battle Arthur swore to keep Harris’s secret of the magical weapon.
Age: 20
Skills: Harris is primarily a scholar and is quite knowledgeable on many topics. Adding to that his analytical mind makes Harris a good problem solver. Harris is also in pretty good shape as his father always stressed the benefits of an active lifestyle. Harris has no combat experience save a few scraps when he was a teenager. However he has been practising with the keyblade, finding that he has a natural aptitude for wielding it. A side effect of using the keyblade is that Harris can now use magic. While certain things like blizzard or cure spells come naturally, other uses of magic are more perplexing to Harris. To remedy this he has been trying to track down as many books on magic that he can find.
Personality: Harris is an inquisitive man, always asking questions, always wanting to know more. To that end he can be quite bothersome when first meeting someone, asking a lot but revealing little. To that end he can come off as stuck up or awkward, depending on the temperament of the person he is talking to. However it would be more accurate to say that this is a defence mechanism as he fears people getting close. Harris would rather not connect with someone than risk them getting hurt. But for those who do get close he is fiercely loyal and protective, willing to endanger himself for them.
Goal wise Harris is all over the place. At one point he wanted to be a priest but now questions his faith. His father wants him to enter politics but he doesn’t see himself as a leader. Because of this there is a great indecision in Harris. He is frequently unsure of what to do, afraid that he may be committing to the wrong choice. This self-doubt causes him to waver in some situations. However there is an untapped strength of will in Harris, one that he isn’t consciously aware of, but can manifest when it is needed most.
Keyblade:
Name: Atlantis Ascendant
Summary of History: Millions of years ago the super-continent Pangaea broke apart. The pieces became familiar continents, save the Americas. A massive tectonic event caused the landmass to break into two pieces, one travelling west through the Pacific, the other east through the Atlantic. About 35,000 years ago early man would travel across the Bering Sea to inhabit the westernmost landmass. However the eastern land would not see humans for many thousands of years. Around the year 1000 AD a fleet of Viking ships discovered the easternmost land, one free of humans. They would establish a small colony there that would slowly grow into a new kingdom, Buyan. Eventually the people of this land would establish their own culture, ending the violent ways of their ancestors.
In the 14th century an adventurous English ship captain decided to find the hidden land of Buyan after reading of it in Viking historical records. He soon found that the stories were true, arriving on the eastern coast of the land and declaring it to be the lost land of Atlantis. Within a few years the captain and his kinsmen established a village on the eastern coast of Atlantis. Shortly after that the newcomers discovered the Kingdom of Buyan to the north, establishing diplomacy and trade. However the monarchies of Europe grew interested in this new land. King Edward of England, wishing to expand his dominion, sent a fleet to capture Atlantis and make it an English colony. The former English already residing in Atlantis decided to side with Buyan and fight off Edward’s forces. In a defining moment in Atlantean history, the forces of Atlantis and Buyan managed to drive off England’s invading forces. However they would eventually be defeated by an overwhelming amount of English reinforcements. Atlantis became a colony of England, and the Kingdom of Buyan was dismantled.
For several hundred years the English gained more land on the continent, occupying most of the north. Other European powers would also seize land in Atlantis, with France and Spain controlling most of the south. The continent to the west of Atlantis was discovered by the Europeans, naming the land Terra Nova and enslaving the native population. In the 18th century Atlantis was dragged into the Great European War, with England directly facing France and Spain. The war lasted a decade and caused much upheaval in the empires of Europe. In the end England won and gained a lot of new territory. Fed up with the English and their greed, various Atlantean officers who had served in the war revolted. The people of Atlantis overwhelmingly supported this action, and with the help of the previously defeated French, the Atlantean army would push out the English occupation. Nearly bankrupt from the Great European War, England would recognize Atlantis as a sovereign nation, granting its independence. Led by forward thinkers and leaders, Atlantis adopted a new style of government called democracy, writing a Constituiton, officially becoming the United States of Atlantis.
Atlantis quickly became the major power in the region, helping shape the fate of nearby Terra Nova as well. It would become one of the first nations to outlaw slavery and give women the right to vote. Atlantis would also become a major player in science and art, with many great thinkers and artists leaving Europe for the new land. Democratic ideals began to spread across the world, as did socialist ideals. In Europe several of the old powers began to stagnate, refusing to adapt to the times, sitting idly by as their empires crumbled. In Africa and Asia former colonies of the Europeans grew into modern nations, foregoing the wars that had previously consumed them.
In current day the old empires of Europe are nearly dead. War between various groups has slowed down advancement in these nations to a crawl. Outside Europe technology progresses quickly. Automobiles, planes, and other wonders are becoming a part of everyday life. Atlantis recently hosted the World’s Fair, a gathering of the greatest scientists and politicians in the world. There they discussed a possible council of world leaders, one that would unite the Earth. Pushing the need for this is the growing tension between China and Japan, two nations with a long history of bloodshed.
